Summertime means travel time for many people.

Let's talk about travel and holidays.

1. Will you be traveling this summer at all?

I wish! I could use a break from beiing homebound all the time. I was invited to go to Italy in August but, I turned down the invite as I feel I am too disabled and too much of a burden.

2. Will there be day trips in store for you? visits to the beach, evenings out:?

I hope so. I usually get excited for the 4th of July but this year I just don't care much.

3. Do you eat out more in summer... do you go for ice cream or treats more?

I used to go for more ice cream in the summer and we would go out to eat before things jacked up prices so high. It's still a great way to spend an evening but perhaps this year things will be done closer to home.

4. What is your favorite place to visit and what is the most exotic place you've been to?

I guess the Florida Keys were the most exotic. I had family who were native Floridians from the Miami area. I spent a lot of time there and in the keys with my mother in law. She had a friend there who had a teacup chihuahua and it was the highlight of the visit! He was so doggone adorable!

I liked the lovely Royal palms in my mother in laws yard and the night blooming jasmine abd I like when we would drive into Miami Beach and all the bright lights at night were so lovely.

My favorite place to visit is Prince Edward Island and I would love to go there again, and again.

My second favorite place is right here where I live. I have lived by the water since I was born and I love it!

Overall, I like to be by the beach wherever I am... everything is better by the beach including the food.

8. Which are cooler: dinosaurs or dragons? Dragons but I think they are the same thing.

1) In this song, Rick Nelson tells us he'd give his girl the stars from sky or a string of pearls. Have you more recently given or received a gift? What was it?
Most recently I received the gift of labor in building a bigger back porch.

2) By the time this record was released, Rick was already a show business veteran. He had been a regular on his family's sitcom, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, since it began airing on radio when he was just 8. Most of us weren't child performers but many of us had chores around the house. When you were young, did your parents give you an allowance?

My grandfather gave me an allowance.

3) The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet moved to TV, where fans saw Rick grow into a teen who drove a 1932 Roadster. The car really belonged to Tony La Masa, who collected classic cars and rented them out to TV and movie producers. Have you ever earned or raised money with your hobby?

At one time I earned money making gift baskets.

4) Paul McCartney has called Rick Nelson an "underrated singer who could really carry a song" and said Rick was one of his influences. Who do you believe you have influenced, professionally or personally?

I'd like to thnk I influenced those I love.

5) This week's song was already an oldie by the time Rick performed it. "For You" was recorded the first time by Casa Loma Orchestra in 1933. In those days, most records were 78 rpm discs, thick and usually only able to hold 3 to 5 minutes of sound per side. Most record companies stopped producing them in the 1950s. Have you ever seen a "78?"

Yes. My parents had a whole collection of them.

6) The lyrics to "For You" were written by Al Dubin. After Al left college he supported himself as a singing waiter. That's really two jobs in one. Which would you do better at: singer or server?

Probably a server.

7) The music was written by Joe Burke, whose last hit song was "Rambling Rose," recorded in 1948 by Perry Como. Have you ever heard of Perry Como?
Yes, of course. He had a TV program long ago. Everyone know the famous singing Italian barber.

8) In 1963, when Ricky's recording was on the charts, the Zip Code was introduced. How many different Zips have you lived in?

I've lived in 8 zip codes.

9) Random question: When you were in high school, were you taller or shorter than your classmates? Or were you the average height?

I was average height usually. Not taller, not shorter. I reached 5'6" as a full adult but since spinal surgery I am now a grand whooping 5'3"!

Chilly mornings and nights are introducing June. Daytime temperatures are in the low 70°F or 60s░F and it's very nice. The week of rain and storm was hard on the bones for so many but hopefully brighter days will put a stop to that.

Let's talk about your week okay?

1. Is anything interesting on TV this week? What will you be watching?

I have been and will conintue watching some B movies on YouTube. I like the 1940s film noir genre and I do like the made for TV disaster movies too. They are just fun.

2. Any books on your horizon right now? What will you be reading?

I am studying the sermons of John Wesley in my theology class.

3. What's been on the menu lately? Any new recipes caught your eye? Asian salad has been interesting with sesame dressing. I've been one pot meal making...mainly ground beef in gravy with mashed potato and French cut green beans.

4. Who will you spend time with this week? The girls worked on the deck,It's mostly done, just needs to railings and the ramp to be delivered, then get stained and finished off. I would like them to build me a nice bench for the side so I can sit out there. I will order a made to order weatherproof cushion for it.

I am also ordering a Japanese bridge for over the pond, a small awning for the back door, and there are some deck post solar lights arriving soon. What a thrill this all is for me.

I am saving for a stove/oven. My stove top works but the overn has been broken for over 15 years.

We will see. RIght now I use a very big toaster oven to bake, broil and toast in.

I just bought a little 5 cup white coffee maker and it's adorable and makes a nice little cup of coffee. I got sick and tired of the coffee press and the messy grounds. Just not worth the trouble.

1) This week's song is about a new love affair, and Benson Boone bounces between frustration and optimism when he thinks about it. Does anything inspire your mixed emotions these days?

The world situation always does that.

2) The lyrics mention "moonbeam ice cream," which is something Benson just made up. Last summer, when this week's song became popular, ice cream shops were inspired to create flavors with that name. What's your favorite ice cream flavor, and will you take that in a cup or cone?

I like Vanilla ice cream because you can do so much with it. I will take it in a cup or in a cone and enjoy it either way.

3) He sings that "once you know" about a love like this, "you know." Tell us about something you had to experience to fully understand.

Serious pain, losing peepole, having a genuine good time.

4) He composed this song at the piano. Do you play piano?

Yes, I play piano.

5) He first sang in public at a high school talent show, which he only entered on a dare. Can you recall any dares from your junior high or high school days?

Yes. Someone dared me to throw mashed potatoes on their face and so I did. It was well deserved.

6) Benson was a good high school athlete and competed in diving at the state level. Can you execute a dive off the diving board?

My uncle taught me to dive but only off the side of a pool. My Dad taught me how to dive into oncoming big waves.

7) When he was 18, Boone auditioned for American Idol. What were you up to when you were 18?

I started Ohio University at 17 and turned 18 during the 2nd semester. I was homesick beyond words so for a few dollars I could fly home with student pilots on the weekend which was a real adventure, let me tell you! . My mother joked that they only way I hadn't come home was by dog sled. As part of training the student had to turn off the engine and restart in air. That was fun.

8) Benson has a dog named Max. He's not alone in this. "Max" is one of the most popular pet names in the US today. Have you ever known anyone (furry or otherwise) named Max?

I know of a young man named Max.

9) Random question: If we knocked on your door on one of your lazy, stay-at-home days, what would we likely find you wearing?

Jeans and a tee shirt usually. Today (Friday morning, a pair of well worn jeans and a Led Zepplin shirt.

Four Seasons, Four Questions

Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4...

1. Do you have a favorite day of the week and how about a favorite month of the year? Why?

As a kid my favorite day was Thursday because it was nearly Friday. We had assembly on Friday so it was a shorter day but Thursday built up the anticipation.

My favorite month is probably October now. I like the red, orange, yellow and purple leaves here in the north.

2. What’s the most beautiful or magical thing about each of the four seasons?

In Winter the most beautiful and magical thing are the silver skies, the snow and icy cold winds that blow through the trees. The skies at night are crystal clear and filled with stars.

In Spring the new blossoms are lovely. Spring rain is also a pleasure.

In Summer the warm sun feels good and it is a good time for the beach and being outdoors. Summer nights are special especially on the boardwalk or the beach.

Autumn is time for cool winds, bright neon leaves, the scent of fallening leaves, It is the best time for Pumpkin Spice coffee.

3. Summer is coming... what does this mean in your life? How will things change, stay the same ,etc?

Weather should be warmer though right now, here is late May, it's only 60°F and the high tomorrow will be only 64°F. Still, summer usually warms up a lot more. Hopefully we will spend more time outdoors this summer enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine.

4. What do you look forward to in each season?

In every season I look forward to the holidays that come around in most of them. I think that is the most fun for me besides the unique weather in the northeast. I love having 4 distinct seasons. I love entertinning people for holidays, dinners, whatever the reason.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday that honors men and women who served and died in the United States Armed Forces. We want to make sure that message is not lost this weekend.

Well, Mrmorial Day is for those who died in war. Veterans day is for those who served.

1) Are you a veteran? Are there veterans in your family? Do you know anyone who is active military? We are grateful and want to hear about it.

Yes, there are veterans in the family.

2) This song is about the courage it takes for soldiers to march into battle. Gen. Patton said, "The soldier is the Army. No army is better than its soldiers." He was emphasizing that each individual's dedication is essential to the unit's success. Do you work well as part of a team? Or are you better on your own?

I can work with a team but I also can work alone. Not sure which I am better at.

3) As of 2025, California is the state with the most military bases. Have you ever visited or lived on a base? No.

4) At the turn of the of the 20th century,. wristwatches were considered non-essential jewelry items, with pocket watches preferred for everyday timekeeping. During WWI, soldiers in the trenches needed to both synchronize actions across the battlefield and keep their hands on their weapons, so the wristwatch went from "fashion item" to "standard issue." Do you often wear a watch, or do you depend on your phone for the time?

I wore watches in the past but they do not work right on me and fall off my wrist. I have clocks , including chime clocks that tell me the time.

5) Jeeps were originated by the US Army during WWII. Back then they were specifically for soldiers deployed to the European Theater, today there are more than 18 million Jeep-branded vehicles on the road all over the world. Have you ever driven a Jeep?

The kids have owned Jeeps.

6) While Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses are a timeless symbol of cool, they were designed during WWII for a specific purpose: to give American flyers relief from glare at high altitudes. Tell us about your sunglasses.

They are perscription glasses designed by some famous design woman.. I don't know. They are well over 16 years old.

7) Memorial Day kicks off the summer season. What's your favorite picnic food?

Hot dogs with mustard and sauerkraut and potato salad. You must not have one without the other. Overall though, I would just like some real fried chicken and potato salad.

8) This marks the weekend when Americans traditionally step up their outdoor activity and do things they may not have been able to do during the cold winter months. For example, when is the last time you worked in the garden or tended the lawn?

I have a lancscapers do my lawn and garden. Over the last 2 weeks they did my entire yard and they will be back to do more. I put up a fence though and more is being delivered tomorrow. (see previous post for the kind of fence.) My garden is now bascially a blank canvas and I will begin again.

I have not been able to do yard work since my spinal surgery. I point and others do.

When I was youner I did a lot of yard work and loved cleaning out natural ponds and streams around the neighborhood.

9) As you answer these questions, is there an air conditioner or fan on?

Nope, its cold and rainy and the heat is on. The day was dark, damp and cold!

Memorial Day is a time to remember those who gave their lives in service to the nation. But if you

think of it, you don't need to be a combatant to serve others.

We rarely celebrate those people who serve in the shadows unseen and largely unknown.

1. What are ways people can serve others?

Don't weary in well doing and consider others more esteemed than yourself.

2. What areas of service do you see as being very important today?

Loving your neighbor and being hospitable to the stranger within your gates.

3. What service organizations do you think have gone above and beyond in service to others lately?

Not a service org per se but the Amish who at their own expense and without asking for donations, built hundreds of home for disaster victims.

4. President Jimmy Carter saw his service to the nation as a service to God and so served silently behind the scenes helping the poor, the elderly, the homeless in ways and in a scope so large it was amazing. Yet the public never knew until recently. Though he was mocked for his foreign problems, no other president ever did as much for the common person as he did.

During the Revolutionary War, Haym Salomon, a Sephardic Jew and great patriot, literally paid for American freedom with every cent he had and died penniless as a result. Though the nation swore to pay him back, they never did and Haym(Chaim) never pressed the issue.

Comedian Danny Thomas, a Lebanese Christian and star of the Danny Thomas show, opened St. Jude Hospital one of the top hospitals in the world for childhood cancer, where patients never pay one cent, sacrificed time, money and nearly his entire career to establish St. Jude to honor a promise made to God.

Many Hollywood stars have silently paid for medical bills of fans, supported homeless and down trodden people without one iota of fanfare.

Do you know of anyone who has served their fellow man selflessly or have you anything to add on the subect of selfless service?

Frankly, most people who serve and do good for others will never be known as they do it anonymously for the sake of love of their fellow man and not for the praise of mankind. These peopole realize the good they do comes from God and not from themselves.

Garden joy has arrived at the little Cottage by the Sea!

The majority of the back yard is now mown down, sawn down, cut up, cleaned up , weeded and changed dramatically. It is now a blank slate and can be done right.

Two huge pines that fell down nearly hitting my house about 8 years ago are chopped up! The Wisteria that literally was taking over is mostly gone except for one plant. The wild beach rose is still a huge bush over 10 ft wide and tall but, it was pruned nicely. The woods that were encroaching are trimmed back. Ponds cleaned up and waterfalls running nicely. The Famous and I installed a corner white fence and I have ordered more to finish it out. This cleanup and grooming was long over due and given to me as a mother's day gift. I am beyond thrilled.

This week our inspiration is Life of a Fool. This blogger maintains this meme has "been seen everywhere." The questions only require a simple, definitive answer, but if you'd like to elaborate, we'd like to hear what you have to say.

Which one?

1. Pepsi or Coke?

Coca Cola is a drink for all seasons. Icy cold it is crisp and tangy and wonderful. Originally invented by a pharmacist for migraines, it really does work when its served icy cold with a ton of ice.

2. Cappuccino or coffee? But a nice cup of plain coffee with tons of cream is nice anytime and a nice big dollop of whipped cream on to is a treat.

3. Chocolate or vanilla? Vanilla because you can do more with it like add chocolate topping!

4. Hot tea or iced tea? Hot tea most of the time, milk no sugar. Iced tea in summer made with lemon and the a little bit of superfine sugar is living the good life.

5. Dinner for two or a party? A big ole' party with everyone and their cousins and a good mariachi band. Nothing makes me so happy as hearing mariachi. I hope you enjoy it too.

It was a while ago and they were surprised I could drive stick shift.

2) The teen in question is well known for ability to drive "like an ace." If we were to ask your high school classmates what they remember most about you, what do you think they'd say?

Under my yearbook photo it said," Friendly and esay to get along with....but it is not necessary to light a candle in the sun". I thought it was very nice and very generous thing to say.

3) She told her father she needed the car to go to the library but used it instead to meet friends. Can you recall a time your parents caught you in a fib?

Never. I was a good kid and didn't get into trouble or need to lie.

4) For this girl and her friends, fun centered on cars and fast food. What did you and your friends do for fun during your teen years?

For me it was the beach and surfing in summer, ice skating in winter, basketball games, movies and dancing,

5) Legend has it songwriters Brian Wilson and Mike Love got the idea for this song from a Salt Lake City disc jockey. He told them he'd lent his T-bird to his daughter so she could go to class at the community college but discovered her deception when the car was ticketed in front of a fast food restaurant. 6) As in the song, the disc jockey punished his daughter by taking her driving privileges away. Were your parents strict when you were growing up?

Not really , not in everything.

7) This song was recorded on January 1, 1964. The Beach Boys had to work on the holiday because they were under pressure to meet a February release date. How did you spend New Year's Day 2026?

I spent it with family and friends.

8) 1964 was a great year for Capitol Records. They had chart-topping hits by the Beach Boys, Barbra Streisand and, most spectacularly, The Beatles. The Capitol Records Building in Los Angeles is considered iconic and it's a stop on tourist bus tours. Have you ever been to Southern California? If yes, what did you do?

No. Never been there.

Those Little Annoyances

Life can be tough. Especially when dealing with traffic , government or just people!

1. What pet peeves bother you the most?

When people assume they really know you and they just don't.

2. Do you air your grievances or keep things to yourself?

On here I keep them to myself mostly. If I didn't I wo uld burn ears off and upset a lot of people.

3. What government ordinances, city requirements or mandates or just plain red tape annoys you?

Licenses for everything!! Gubbermint needs to stay o ut of people's lives for the most part.

4. When the annoyances of life gang up on you do you take it to the Lord in prayer? What else helps you gain your equilibrium...music, a movie, a treat? How do you deal with it?

Yes, prayer is key. Also a good movie or a game helps as well. Friends and a great meal top off the normality.

Once upon a time, in a blogosphere far, far away, there was a popular meme called Thursday Thunks. Alas, the thunking stopped back in 2011.

Thursday Thunks

1. Is there anyone whose home you enter without knocking? Does anyone (who doesn't live with you) have permission to enter your home without knocking?

No! I would never do such a thing. My family does it to me but I don't care. But for myself.. absolutely never. When I was a kid I entered our home and my grandparents home without knocking.

2. Tell us about a school trip you took.

There were so many. I loved spending the day in China Town and climging up the statue of Liberty which is really in New Jersey. The ferry ride to the statue is moving to say the least especaially for those who came by way of Ellis Island like my father's parents in 1900.

We often went to the Metropolitan Museum and the Natural History museum in New York and in Carnegie Hall for concerts a few times. We visited dairy farms, Mystic Port in Connecticutt to see tall ships, the Brooklyn Navy Yard for a ride in a PT boat. We saw the Philadelphia Philharmonic, Independance Hall , Betsy Ross house, the Libery Bell, etc in Philadelphia. We went to Valley Forge, Monmouth Battle field, Washingon's winter Head quarters in Morristown NJ... We went everywhere you can imagine.

3. Name three things within arm's reach right

now (but they can't relate to your phone, computer or laptop).

Scissors, a lazy susan pen holder and a Glade Smooth Bourbon and Oak candle.

4. Weather permitting, do you dry your clothes outdoors on a clothesline?

I used to when I had no dryer. It was awful especially in the deep winter with temperatures so low and snow on the ground.

5. If every flower in the world only bloomed in one color, what color would you like to see?

Pale baby pink.

My friend Katy and my family.

2) She sings that her mother is her "rock." In this context, what do you think that means?

.Someone to lean on and take refuge in.

3) When Lauren performed this song in concert, she brought her mother Kristy up on stage and held her hand as she sang. Kristy said she was touched, but also embarrassed because her daughter was the entertainer, not her. Do you get shy when all eyes turn to you?

Depends on the situation. If it's praise, I do not like it at all. If its for discussion or information, that's fine.

No. I read well but I don't read a lot and hardly at all as a kid.

I've been to a paint event and it was very nice.

I get a few texts.

A Simple Woman's Daybook.

Outside my window… It is 58°F with a slight breeze and a very sunny sky after a night of rain. Not enough rain but, rain nonetheless.
I am thinking… That I am a bit sleepy. It is 6:31PM edt and I am yawning and having a hard time keeping my eyes open.
I am thankful… Landscapers are coming Sunday to clean up the yard. I still have that huge tree that fell 8 or so years ago. Wisteria and weeds are out of control and my lawn is a mess.
In the kitchen… My tummy is growling and I am not sure what to make.Maybe just a little bowl of Cheerios

I am wearing… I have on black sweat pants, a black tee shirt with the cockle shell of Santiago de Compostella on it and a navy blue cardigan.
I am creating… I have been trying to make things more organized and accessible in the house.
I am going… No where.
I am reading… I read everyday in my continuing education.
I am hoping…For an end to the insanity in the nation and the world.
I am looking forward to…Friday with the Famous Anonymous and hope I will be up to it.
Around the house… I bought a new William Morris fox print 10 ft runner for the laundry room and a matching one for the hallway.

1. May’s First Glimpse — What is the very first thing you notice or feel when May arrives each year?

Flowers and trees are beginning to bloom. The air gets warmer. This year is very much colder though and I don't hear birds or bees. Nights are downright cold.

2. Simple May Joys — What small pleasures do you look forward to in May — flowers, breezes, routines, or traditions? The warm breezes are lovely in May and I love the blossoming Wisteria, Lilacs , purple Vinca and my lovely Mountain Pinks.

3. May Memories — Do you have a favorite May memory from childhood, family life, or recent years?

My favorite May memories are from elementary school when we would learn songs about April, May and June and do little projects to decorate our classrooms.

I knew of a teenage girl named May who was a nasty bully so, the name always reminds me of a big tall overweight bully.

4. May Intentions — What gentle goals or hopes do you carry into this new month? To live in peace with a gentle heart . To get the yard in order.

Saturday 9: I'll Get By (As Long as I Have You) – 1944

Helen was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey..so gotta play a Jersey girl. The Dick Haymes version is nice too and Frank Sinatra did a version as well.

1) "I'll Get By" was very popular song in the 1940s, and we're taking a look at the recording by Dick Haymes and Harry James because it got the most airplay. Can you think of another song that has been recorded by more than one artist?

I am drawing a blank for some reason.....

2) In this week's song, vocalist Dick Haymes sings that he won't complain about the rain. Do you have any complaints about the weather this morning?

I write these on Friday and usually very early as I don't do blogging on Saturday . Right as I write this it is 53°F and it might rain on Saturday with temperature still low.

3) Dick was briefly married to movie queen Rita Hayworth. Known as The Love Goddess and The Strawberry Blonde, Rita was famous for her magnificent mane. She dyed her dark brown hair red to get attention and it worked. Have you ever experimented with a different color? If yes, were you happy with the results?

I am blonde some days and brunette other days. I am usually very happy with the results!

4) Dick was the lead vocalist of the Harry James orchestra. Like Dick, Harry had a movie star wife. Betty Grable was famous for her legs. Her bathing suit poster inspired hosiery manufacturers to single out her perfectly proportioned thighs, calves and ankles. Betty herself joked, "I'm a star for two reasons, and I'm standing on them." What do you think is your best (physical) trait?

In high school I was told it was my legs which were the same measurements as Betty Grable. I know because my friends meaured each other at a birthday party for the fun of it and compared to Betty.

5) Betty's weren't the only legs that fascinated Harry. He was known for his stable of thoroughbred racehorses. Have you ever been to the races?

Yes I have been to the races when I was young and just married.

6) Teenaged Harry played trumpet with The Beaumont High School Royal Purple Band. Did you belong to groups or clubs while you were in high school?

Yes. I was in a lot of groups and clubs.

7) In addition to "I'll Get By," Judy Garland's "Trolley Song" topped the charts in 1944. When did you most recently take public transportation?

I took the train into New York City but that was a while ago.

8) Also in 1944, Diana Ross was born. First with the Supremes, then as a solo artist, she has sold more than 100 millions records, making her one of America's most successful female singers. Who is your all-time favorite "girl singer?"

I have to say that no one compares to Barbra Steisand. Clear, perfect pitch.. she has it all.

9) Random question – Last week we asked about the garage. Let's turn our attention to the glove compartment (aka glove box). What have you got in there?

There is nothing in the glove box at all.

Hello! It's time again for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 and I am happy you stopped by to join in.

This week's idea for questions came from Pamela Steiner and it's all about your occupation and work.

I think that's a great idea, so here are questions for you to ponder.

1.What did/do you do for work and how long did you work in that position?

I worked in a 5and10 cent store, a corner grocery, a chemical company and as a medical technologist.

2. Of the jobs you've had throughout life, which was your favorite? If no favorite,which was the worst? Tell us why you loved/hated your job.

Actually working at Woolworth's 5and10 was my favorite. I worked on check out and I enjoyed the customers. I especially liked the senior citizens who came in on Tuesday for the discount day and to have lunch. For some it was a big day out!

3. What did your job entail?

Here is what the internet says: "A medical technologist (also known as a clinical laboratory scientist) performs complex analysis on blood, tissues, and body fluids to diagnose, treat, and monitor diseases. They operate, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, ensuring high-quality control and accurate results for physicians. Did it require a special education? Yes, it does and you must pass a state exam and be licensed by the American Society of Clincal Pathologists.

Five Things You Didn't Want to Know but I'm Telling You Anywayall

1) Has anyone ever told you they would love you forever? Yes, boys said it to me all the time.

Of course it was baloney or balogna.. your choice.

2) Who is the last person you were in the car with?

3) Do you have big plans for tomorrow (Monday)?

Its late Saturday night as I write this but so far no big plans for Monday at all. If the autumn-like drizzly weather continues I will just be enjoyiing that. We are back down into the 40s°F and I am enjoying it.

4) How long do you typically spend in the shower? Probably less than 10 minutes or so.

5) What were you doing at 7 AM yesterday (Saturday)? I woke up , took a quick trip to the bathroom and then promptly cuddled back into my soft bed and slept soundly for another 5 hours.

I was married soI socialized at home and we entertained friends in our home.

I never heard of Phoebe Buffay. Looking it up I see she was on Friends, a program I never watched.

If I was a fan it would be of the Yankees. I am mad at the Dodgers for leaving Brooklyn like rats off a sinking ship. I don't know what either of them are doing.

9) Random question: What's in your garage, besides your car (lawn tools, holiday decorations, old paint cans, etc.)? I don't have a garage so there is nothing in my make believe garage.

Hi Friends.. here by the seashore in New Jersey it is 6:10AM and I've been up for an hour having gone to bed yesterday at 3:30 in the afternoon. It is 24°F and quiet and still outside. The Peepers are silent since the temperatures have plunged this week. Birds are also quiet. The weather manipulators need to learn that it's not nice to fool mother nature and although I love going outside and breathing in the crisp, clean morning air, I realize they are monkeying around again.

Air quality here by the ocean is always perfect and the winds blowing off shore keep it that way. When I travel inland or to other places I can feel and breathe in the lesser air quality. But now on to Tuesday 4!!

The Lord is my light and my salvation

Welcome to another Tuesday 4 by Toni Taddeo.

Let's talk about light, okay? You light up my life.. shine a light in the darkness, Miller Light. All kinds of light but how about at home?

1. Are you afraid of the dark? Is night or day your favorite time?

Not really afraid of the dark but cautious when walking around in the dark. I don't like to be on the beach in the dark at all!

I like both day and night. There are so many good things about each of them.

2. Do you have night lights in your home?

I have a night light in the bathroom . There is one on my kitchen stove as well but I never use it.

3. How low do you set your air conditioning? Do you adjust it through the day?

In summer I will set it to 68°F on the hottest days. I do adjust it throughout the day and also turn it off .

In Winter I set it from 69 to 71°F and sometimes 72 but I also adjust it through the day . If it is extremely cold outside, I set a large stock pot to simmer all day on the stove top which increases humidity and keeps the house warm. By the way, if you have a flu or cold, keep the stock put on to help keep your lungs and head clear. Using humidifiers during illness will help you heal much faster.

4. Do you keep any outdoor or indoor lights on all night?

Yes, I have a spot light and rear door light that are on all night long. I have lights in the front yard as well. My backyard is forest so, I have a light to shine there. I have a swing arm light over my sink that stays on all night long.

I don't ride in the backseat but I would wear one if I did.

Some ways yes but in most ways no.

4) The song was reportedly inspired in part by the relationship between popular British singer Cilla Black and her future husband. Cilla wanted him on the record label's payroll, so he became her road manager and driver. Have you ever worked for, or with, someone with whom you were romantically involved?

Yes but not in a professional way. It was in high school on a publication.

5) Although this Beatles song is credited to Lennon-McCartney, it was written mostly by Paul. He recalls showing up at John Lennon's house with the tune ready to go, and lyrics they both agreed were "crap." John gave Paul the car theme, and he took it from there. When has someone recently helped you out of a jam? Family has helped me with things around the house or handling office style things. My late husband actually saved my life when I was drowning in the ocean.

6) Paul also handles the lead vocals. When you hear a Beatles record, can you tell which band member is singing lead? I really don't know. I never tried to do that.

7) When it was first released, this record got a lot of attention for the intricate guitar work by Paul and George Harrison. It's got a lot of percussion on it, too, including cowbell and tambourine. Have you ever played either cowbell or tambourine? (Do you think it sounds like fun?)

Yes, I have played with a tambourine in school. It was a lot of fun.

8) Lava lamps were already popular in England but they weren't introduced to the United States until 1965. Today Walmart carries more than 20 different lava lamps. Have you ever owned one?\

Yes. We had one that was orange. Actually, I am in the market for one now.

9) Random question: Do you have a recurring dream?

As a child I did and it was awful.

1. Can you touch your nose with your tongue? No. Both my nose and tongue are very small.

2. What foreign language did you study in school? How much of it do you still remember? French and Russian. I can read French pretty well.

3. What recipe did you most recently prepare? Where did you get the recipe and how did it turn out?

It is my own recipe and I made spaghetti and meatballs. It's my own recipe.

4. What song have you listened to over and over and over again? Coming to America by Neil Diamond, but there is quite a long list of songs I've heard again and again.

5. Are there currently any pets in your household? Are you considering adding another?

My last dog friend passed away at age 15. My last cat friend died at age 21. Now I just have my fish friends in the pond. Some of them are over 25 years old. They can live to be hundreds of years. I call them friends because I don't own pets, I have animals that come to live with me but I don't 'own' them.
