GIVE. SHARE. CHANGE THE WORLD.

Everyone Gives is harvesting our collective ability to create good with the first global social giving campaign. Everyone Gives is not a charity. We enable individuals to connect to worthy causes – and inspire their friends to join them.

Through the latest technology tools, we enable participants to donate directly to Cottonwood Inc., and then share their spirit of giving across their personal networks, encouraging others to give. We are a 100% efficient channel as no portion of proceeds goes to building and maintaining the program.

We hope to rekindle an appreciation for what’s possible if we all did something, albeit small, at once. Our goal is to show that even one person’s $5 charitable contribution – “a drop in the bucket” – can initiate a chain reaction, becoming a torrent of global giving that will change the world.

Cottonwood Inc. of Lawrence, Kansas was among the award recipients when the Defense Logistics Agency honored 23 industry partners, customers and individuals with its Business Alliance Awards.

Cottonwood Inc. received the Outstanding AbilityOne Program Vendor Award presented to non-profit agencies (National Industries for the Blind, employing the blind; or NISH, employing persons with severe disabilities) that exemplify overall excellence in superior product quality, on-time delivery, superior customer service, reliability, dependability, consistency and accuracy.

Overall, the Business Alliance Awards recognize those who have demonstrated outstanding efforts to partner with DLA and improve the agency’s mission — providing supplies and services to America’s warfighters. DLA Vice Director Air Force Maj. Gen. Arthur B. Morrill III presented the annual awards.

The agency’s primary role includes managing more than 5 million consumable items, such as rations, medical supplies and equipment, clothing and textiles, and repair parts for land, sea and air weapons systems and platforms.

Cottonwood Inc., a source of supply for cargo tie down straps, has managed to keep up with unprecedented demand for this essential logistical item while continuing to be one of DLA’s top performers.

DLA provides supply support, and technical and logistics services to the U.S. military services and several federal civilian agencies. Headquartered at Fort Belvoir, Va., the agency is the one source for nearly every consumable item, whether for combat readiness, emergency preparedness or day-to-day operations inside the Department of Defense.

Major General, Arthur B. Morrill III, US Air Force Vice Director, Defense Logistics Agency, Nina VanSchmus, Government Contracts Manager for Cottonwood Industries, JR Condra, Director of Cottonwood Industries and Air Force Brigadier General, Andrew E. Bush, DSCR Commander.

Cottonwood Industries a division of Cottonwood Incorporated was honored by the Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia as one of the government’s best suppliers at an Automated Best Value System award ceremony held during the center’s annual business conference.

Cottonwood has supplied the Department of Defense with over 5 million cargo tie down straps since its initial contract began in 1999.

Firms that qualify as Automated Best Value System medalist have met stringent quality and delivery requirements established by the Defense Logistics Agency. The Automated Best Value computerized system collects a vendor’s past performance data and translates it into a numeric score, ranging from zero to 100.

To be eligible, vendors must have shipped 25 or more contract lines for DSCR during a 12-month rating period. To qualify for a gold medal, a contractor must have a score of 100.

Cottonwood has received nine consecutive Gold Medal Awards from DSCR.
