I ended up finding a few of the top ten titles and never having been too into the genre during its PS2 hay day I have never played any of them.

First up on the list is the Dot hack GU series. I've been playing through volume one and i have literally gone 18 straight hours playing it. A hack and slash thats not quite just a hack and slash style combat that's repetitive yet addicting. An interesting setting and story that keeps me playing and tons of side quests. The only problem the game has, a huge, glaring, obnoxious problem, are the characters. I'm not entirely sure how far into the game im at, but the characters have been just terrible since the first couple of seconds. Hasaeo, the main character is an arrogant idiot (yet seems to be the only one who realizes they're still just playing a freaking game) and the rest seem to be horribly innocent, cliche retards who seem to have forgotten that they are in fact in a video game. As annoying as they all are they all do seem to have the occasional bad ass moment though, so its not entirely bad and its no reason to stop playing.

Next on the nostalgia list is Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3. This game is so JRPG its almost hilarious. It's very fun, and the story is amazing and dark. It never gets old watching the Persona invocations (you know, a magical bullet to the head) The game as a whole does get old really quickly as the game play is very repetitive so i can only really take it in small doses, but those doses are fucking great. You play a Japanese high school student that has the ability to stay awake during the dark hour where all other humans drop into a coffin and sleep for an hour to protect them from crazy demon monsters and wake up without a clue it happens. This kid joins a group of other high school kids in his dorm that fight these demons using "personas" fractions of their mind that can form into bad ass looking creatures with cool abilities. The main character can actually summon and use every persona instead of just one which leads to some cool customization of party roles. You play half the game in school doing random social events and making friends to strengthen social contacts which in turn strengthens your personas. The other half of the game is played at night after school when you can take your team to the "tartarus" tower where all the demons come from. Working floor to floor killing demons and finding sick gear until you feel beat and return to sleep and then repeat it all over again. Slightly repetitive, but really fun and dark as hell.

I just picked up a copy of another interesting and well rated RPG in last days of the PS2. Rouge Galaxy, a fun game half single player and half online. haven't gotten a chance to play too much of it, but the combat is a lot like Persona 3 and therefore very fun.

Last but not least I have been playing through Fatal Frame 2 again. I just love it. The extremely fucked up story. The creepy as hell setting and atmosphere. The combat requiring you to get yourself as close as possible to some horrific looking ghosties. FF2 is just an amazing PS2 game and ranks as one of my favorite games of all time.

If I can get out of this PS2 kick I just might play through The Darkness 2 and Hitman Contracts.

Oddly enough out of the titles i had but with no working PS2 or the games i have access now to the one that kept jumping out at me to play and actually finish was Final Fantasy 12. The list of people who actually liked 12 that i know is hilariously small, which is unfortunate as i actually enjoyed it. When compared to 10 or 7 it's pretty terrible, but as with 13. if you look at it by itself and don't compare it to previous titles I find it to be a fairly fun game. Yes the majority of the game as far as a final fantasy title goes is very mediocre, just remember they made 11 and 14, then it'll look like a masterpiece. 12 at least had a semi interesting plot line, some pretty bad ass characters and a unique, slightly annoying and different but overall...neat...combat system. It makes it worth chugging through and actually beating. In the end there are probably better games to invest in at the time, but hell i want to beat it so off to play it some more i go.

I've dived into the massive game that is Dead Island. The game is pretty much a cross between Borderlands and Left4Dead, and it is AMAZING. I haven't gotten too far into the game yet, just a bunch of quests around the lifeguard tower in the beginning (WoW and other things have been distracting me) What iv played though is just pure zombie skull crushing bliss. The only real issues iv been having with it so far though is the characters. I think they ALL could be entered into the blandest stereotypical annoying characters list. Not to mention it would have been much cooler to be able to create your own character, but that might be asking for too much. Just would have been nice to not have to play an annoying horribly bland character. Other than that SO FAR I have no complaints, its just so much fun, and very well made, the UI is pretty easy to get around the zombies fun the combat kind of easy but slip up for a second you get screwed up, and it looks beautiful.

In other game news, 1.8.1 is "neat". So far there is nothing the XP you get from killing things apply to anything, the endermen are bugged, and i have YET to run into any of the random dungeons or mineshaft things. In the end, other than the ui and menu tweaks its not at all different from 1.7. Ill give it time though and just continue with building castles and giant pirate ships.

Now back to WoW.
I have been pulled into the "starcraft two starter edition". Now iv never played the first one myself, but from what iv seen of it and from what iv heard i gathered starcraft 2 was essentially the same game just with enhanced graphics, which when i installed it for some reason detected my computer was not actually quite a good machine and set it at the lowest possible settings which pretty much looked like starcraft one graphics. Anyways in the end i thought id give the game a try, as iv heard so much about how great it is, and how strategic it is, how many players out there are now professional starcraft players, etc. Being a huge RTS fan (they were in fact the first games i delved into with the PC when i was yet still a wee lad, age of empires and empire earth and all.) After the first few missions though i couldn't take it anymore. EVERYTHING i saw was just yet another ripoff from the war hammer 40k universe, which from my last post you might be able to tell i absolutely love. I have 40k books, 40k games, 40k wallpapers, 40k role playing games, and 40k figures (although unfortunately the actual tabletop isn't made for anyone who doesn't have several hundred dollars to spend.) I am a huge warhammer 40k fan and in turn could not bring myself to play anymore starcraft.....40k. Although the game play is quite different from Dawn Of War, and in a lot of ways better, and the game play itself is pretty fun nearly everything i was seeing was some sort of derivative of the 40k universe, which in turn completely shut me off from the game without a chance for logic or fun to step in and stop me. There you had it my rant of the week.

In other news though and in a semi rant. WHERE IS MY ADVENTURE UPDATE NOTCH?!?!?

Also been playing a little bit of "From Dust" and iv gotten about halfway through the story and so far seems a neat little game. Not much to it in the end, but it is fairly fun and when you beat the game you unlock a sandbox mode for you to drop lava on poor villages, send tsunami's to poor villages, set poor villages on fire, drop giant rocks on poor villages, well i think you get the point, its something to look forward to if you find the story mode boring.

Now it's back to game development and continuing to learn the fine points of BYOND's game engine and language. Anyone willing to help out feel free to comment!
With a vengance!

I waited months for a particular game to come out. Pre-ordered it. Then proceeded to play it for eleven hours straight. The game? Space Marine. A hack and slash game heart and soul fused with a 3rd person shooter with a penchant for needing fields of waist high walls to crouch behind, create a game much like Gears of War, but with the whole not needing to duck behind cover and fire around walls at alien things and being X-Box only part. No this game is far more entertaining. Relic took the brutality and the style from GoW, but turned it into a Warhammer 40k game any fan could love. By that i mean making you an eight foot tall bad ass in power armor with 80 caliber rocket propelled explosive ammo guns and chain swords and giving them an endless horde of orks to slaughter through with glee, leaving nothing but orky red residue and bolter casings in their wake. It starts off with you and only three other marines jumping out of a drop ship with a jet pack, dodging and weaving through an in atmo space fight and anti air fire to land in the middle of an ark camp, and the game doesn't ever let up, just MORE orks and just when you start to get just a little bored of green skins, just when your looking for a little more challenge or just a slight kink in the story's over all straight forward plot line. The game throws in a chaos army with teleporting daemons and space marines with plasma cannons to up the ante. All i can say is it is EXACTLY what i expected it to be. A hack and slash game but with guns too in a over the shoulder camera angle. So if your looking for a bad ass game full of bad asses, bad assing it with non stop dark gory slashing ork curb stomping chaos eviscerating goodness then its well worth the 60 bucks, because that is exactly what you'll get, its certainly entertaining.

In other news/games. Iv been getting back into the wonderful horrors of Minecraft. With the adventure update looming just over the horizon, and my friends pretty swell server has tempted me back to the 32 bit (i have an HD texture pack, I'm too good for 16 bit) addictive goodness. A website for the server is in the makings and full online connectivity is still in the works but you can join via hamachi. If you'd like to play just leave a comment and Il send you the server info. The server itself is still a little under development, but fairly fun as its like an RPG with a race and class system and encouraged role playing and community resources.

I'm also delving into the wonderfully frustrating world of indie game development for something to do that's a little productive. Working on creating a simple game through the BYOND engine as its a fairly simple yet intricate and fun platform for small 16 bit games. If you haven't heard of it id check it out it has its fair share of horrifying games, but there are some fun ones such as Space Station 13.

That's it for now, but I will be posting every other day if not daily from now on as i have a lot of material to cover, and plenty of frustrating gaming rants to go on forever about, so subscribe and enjoy my awesome talent of bullshitting and ranting, or maybe its ranting bullshit?

The story is pretty cool, the combat is a little slow but awesome, and the characters look bad ass. The lack of an auto save feature though really gets to me though. As long as the battles can be sometimes and having to back all the way out to the main town's menu before your able to save kind of keeps me from remembering to do so after each and every battle and since my particular copy of the game or my PS2 or maybe even both decide to freeze quite often on me in mid game. Setting me back sometimes three battles back, which seems minuscule but is ultimately extremely fucking irritating. Needless to say iv chucked the controller more than once because of it. Other than that and the sometimes horrid voice acting and the ridiculous in game loading for magic animations its an amazing game. Iv also recently gave in and bought fallout:new Vegas and well. It has me genuinely interested in it. I'm playing in hardcore mode and well shit, its pretty hardcore. In hardcore mode if one of your limbs is disabled by lets just say two sticks of TNT landing at your feet blowing your legs off, well the only way to fix it is either a doctor, or a doctors bag and a decent medical skill. Which at the time of this writing well, isn't happening anytime soon, so me my quarter of a health bar not one but TWO blown off legs and a blown off arm are sadly limping around clearing out the rest of this fucking town's powder ganger problem. Hoping to get paid enough to afford a Dr to sew my legs back on, and do it right for that matter. Also iv ran out of water, which is starting to make my character a tad dizzy. They aren't fucking around when they say its hardcore mode that's for sure. Still pretty fun though, although a tad frustrating and rage inducing. Slitting a man's throat open with a straight razor, switching to a six shooter and literally blowing his buddy's head off certainly makes up for it.

I received a free copy of Just cause 2 and Mafia 2 via steam, from buying my new video card. Which my new pc is fully capable of running anything now so more gaming opportunities. Anyways, the game is like if grand theft auto had a love child with really cheesy over the top James bond movie. If your thinking that sounds completely over the top, insane, and wtf. Your correct! You can fall out of a plane 5 kilometers in the air and shoot your grappling hook into the ground and survive, you can hijack the "boss's" helicopter in any side mission throw him out and use it to blow everything in sight up. You can get across the entire island by parachute and grapple hooking trees to gain momentum. You can SURF a plane into a helicopter dive into the fray of combat below you grapple hook onto a tower and proceed to use the enemies own mini gun against them, once again blowing everything up in sight. It is completely ridiculous and its incredibly awesome. Its like every ADHD kids' wet dream. Its like it was directly influenced by Micheal bay's EXPLOSIONS (he owns the rights to fire, much like Danzig owns the rights to blood.) The best part is the main character just doesn't give two shits that hes blowing up an entire island, its just what he does. The game when it comes down to it is purely about blowing shit up. The main story line consists of blowing shit up, which to unlock story missions you have to complete side missions or "Faction missions" which consist of blowing shit up, and to unlock THOSE you have to just blow shit up. So really the only "story" the game has is "here's a gun and some bombs and a grappling hook which ignores all physics. Go blow shit up." I cant stop playing it though, its just that open, and FUN. Which when it comes down to it is really the only reason why you play games. Good story or alot of fun, which since this game has no story what so ever its purely fun.
In another aspect of my gaming world our gaming group had just completed a play test of some of the Pathfinder's new "alternative classes" it went fairly well we were able to detect balance issues but it ended pretty in pretty hilarious circumstances. Over all it was entertaining as all hell.
Also Sometime during this week likely Monday night I'm going to be doing a live stream of Fatal Frame, so if you like creepy ghost games and don't mind a game that has minor tweaks in it and have nothing else to do, come watch! =D

Iv gotten a new computer that doesn't tweak out every minute and a half and make any game regardless of graphics settings or age to drop to 3-10 frames a second. So Iv taken to playing games i haven't been able to in some time now. I received a beta invite to "Rift" which is an upcoming subscription based mmo. For the most part its actually better than i had expected, with some pretty pretty visuals and story cut scenes to start out with and an extremely unique class system which allows you to pick a calling (rouge, warrior, mage, and cleric) and each calling has a multitude of different "souls" to choose from further specializing your role. For example the rouge calling can further specialize to be a sneaky stealth bastard, a dot'ing combo DPS powerhouse, or a ranged fighter with explosives, yes you heard me, fucking explosives. Each calling seems to have a "buff only class" of sorts which means it really has no use outside of raiding, or pvp buffs and utilities like the rouges bard class. Right now I'm playing a "nightblade, rift stalker, bard" and so far seems to be pretty fun and really quick. I'm not going to go further into it though since i haven't played too much and just about anything in the game anyway is subject to change, but that's all info you can get from the site. Either way its pretty fun though a sort of rip off of warhammer online more than anything though and I'm not sure if its worth 15 bucks a month, unfortunately i think WoW still holds the only game worth paying a sub for and that's just barely worth it at that. Other than playing this four day long beta i recently bought Gran Turismo 5, which iv actually been sorely disappointed with. I haven't played online or any of the arcade mode play yet so i cant speak for those areas, but iv gotten a little ways into the A-spec mode races. Its got everything you'd expect from a GT game, nothing is really new except for the whole online lobby system, a ton of new cars and tracks, otherwise its the same exact thing as the last 4 and half (that GT4:prologue doesn't count worth shit as a full game) and as the overall quality goes its shit. I think the developers ran out of time or money at some point after focusing all of their attention on the premium cars and tracks, which look and sound and handle amazing, yet all the non premium cars sound exactly the same, look like shit, and the same goes for the non premium tracks, in fact you could play the nurburgring track side by side with GT4 and the only differences in look would be a little anti aliasing and shadowing. Otherwise it doesn't look any better than 4's version of the track. Needless to say i was sorely disappointed at that. The game now has external as well as internal damage which once again for the premium cars the car can get trashed as all hell looking but the non premium cars look barely dented, but for any car your in when you hit a wall or a car weather your going 20 mph or sailing at 170mph into a wall you'll hear the same dull "thunk" sound and dear god does it get really annoying really quickly, especially when your in the middle of the pack of mindless AI that is the opponent cars who will full on break in front of you or slam into you like your not there and hear nothing but "thunk thunk thunk thunk" Although extremely annoying its not nearly as bad as the walking sound in the other total disappointment of a game Final Fantasy 13. Which brings me to my final point about this whole game. I waited at least 3 years for a new Final Fantasy to get that linear 15 hour long tutorial movie posing as a game, and now i waited at least 4 years for a new Gran Turismo just to get a shitty hastily assembled remake of 4. I'm really hoping this trend doesn't extend to the other two games iv been waiting years to play like guildwars 2 or Duke Nukem. I swear to my heathen gods if GW2 is just as shitty as those shit games I'm jumping off a cliff.

Or any of my topics for that matter, but you can STFU if you've anything to say about that....just kidding i love you dear reader...so...very...much. Anyways. For months iv been ignoring the final three missions for the Guild wars:Nightfall campaign. The entire realm of torment zone can burn in a fiery hell for all i care. Almost every mission iv done on the exception of like two (the consulate docks and one of the vabi missions) iv done solo, with only my hero's and henchmen and iv been fine. The only trouble i had was because i was trying to complete them all on the expert rating. All of them were fairly difficult at times, or frustrating, but most of the time it just took a while to get through them was all. The last three missions on the other hand are a gift from the grinning prince of madness himself and every single npc has lost all their mental faculties. Every. Single. One of them has their heads up each others asses trying to find the mob that's focus firing on me, but decides to go ape shit berserk mode when they come within three continents of any mob I'm well aware can kill me with a fucking glance so i veer off and attempt to avoid their detection, but as i mentioned previously my hero's apparently say FUCK smart coward "fight another day" mentality FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!!!! and proceed to charge into the horizon after every single level 30 mob in the entire realm. As i stand there in complete shock of what my party has suddenly decided to do and feeling quite betrayed i try to regroup at the nearest res shrine, but holy hell if my hero's are ADAMANT about killing anything within their eyesight. So after many frustrating tries to complete this quest which consists of me marching to the other side of this map...yes you read that correctly. All i had to do was move to the other side of the map and WIN, but nope. Eventually i started to gain some headway into this tedious process of restarting every four minutes, but then wait. The lag starts kicking in like a newborn baby demon thirsting for fucking blood. After a few minutes of steam blowing in pouring rain i attempted again, and again, and again literally all night and then all the next morning. Finally i was able to recruit some help by someone and blew through it without any issues, got through the next set of missions without a hitch. Until we reached the last one. Kill abbodon. We attack his right arm, then his left then his head, then we can nuke the hell out of his main health bar till he respwans haul ass back and repeat a few times. Apparently though that's too hard for some people to understand and instead try to take on all three of them at the same time. Needless to say we returned to the outpost and promptly kicked him hired new and much better help killed abbodon in less than three cycles and finally. FINALLY after months of putting it off, beat the nightfall storyline. Now i just have to beat every mission and zone in hard mode. Hurray for that. I'm putting that one off till i find a guild first that's working on those titles. In the meantime its explorer title and Eye of the north quest line and dungeons to farm rep and gold for better gear. All in the glorious quest for epic loot in guild wars two. I swear it better be fucking epic, cuz if its not I'm going to Area net HQ and i will systematically insert every employee's head through there own flesh. Including the janitor.

There is a reason for it, but i haven't had this happen to me for quite some time, since iv been caught up in single player games, or PS3 titles. See i usually have somewhere around five or so mmo's installed at all times, give or take a few. I play one consistently for a while, get bored and move onto one of the others, or install a new one. I recently installed the live version of vindictus and began playing the new caster character, which actually is extremely bad ass, and for once a caster type character that isn't completely squishy is very nice. Anyways i had been playing that all day when maintenance started. Well shit i thought now what am i going to do? Iv been in a gaming mood the last few days so doing something actually productive on my day off didn't sound too amazing. I had ran out of tempting single player games to play through (or ones i don't feel like tackling just yet) and no TV here at the moment to play a ps3 game, so i began to go through my list of playable mmo's, which at the moment is actually pretty short. The first one on there was atlantica. An amazing tactical mmo that for months i had become completely addicted to (in fact that addiction started soon after the borderlands phase) i haven't touched it since the end of that horrible period and though fuck it why not? see if the guild i was in was still around (probably not) and do a couple free league matches till servers are back up. Well shit i thought as maintenance was up on that game as well. So i went back to my very short list and found Battle forge, a neat little RTS/card game fusion mmo game. Its entertaining for all about three battles then it stops for another month, in fact the only reason i keep the game is i put money into it a while back ago considering you have to actually purchase cards/units that aren't in your starter deck (until recently where you actually get their premium currency in small amounts for battles to purchase singles with or save up for a booster) After about two games of that i got bored of that and lead to this update. So its time to see if vindictus is back up and proceed to play into the retarded hours of the morning. IL keep you people posted on that progress. Considering a level 44 Evie (the same caster character I'm playing) decided to join me on a dungeon (I'm only level 10) she proceeded to one hit everything in my path leaving me to loot the poor corpses of her brutality till we got to the boss. Once there i noticed there was a lot of broken pillar rubble around that started to turn blue then all of sudden formed into a many pieced stone golem three times my size....A FUCKING STONE GOLEM! It proceeded to beat the living hell out of the boss, picking up large boulders and tossing them at his face, then slamming his stone fist in his face while on the ground for good measure. Needless to say the boss was dead in about two minutes. I only have three words to say to that whole scenario though. Once again a game that has an interesting story buildup, good game play and a plain creepy environment and then the "final battle" is just the most retarded thing ever. The entire game you go completely weaponless (though you can move just about every object in the game why couldn't they implement a system where you could pick up something and it hurts to throw it at said monster?) so i didn't expect an actual "boss fight". I did however expect some sort of platforming, puzzle, obstacle course or something to get through to stop the baddie, but soon found once you entered the final chamber all you did is stand listen to him talk then decide which ending you want to see based on your final action. There are three endings, one in which you don't do anything and the baddie hops through the portal he created and all is fucked, ending two where you prevent him from jumping in and you save yourself, and the final "good" ending where you toss some dead wanker' head down the portal and that somehow kills baddie yet saves you. THE END. As the same with Call of Cthulu i was very disappointed with the ending. As much as the ending failed on this one though it was a fairly fun game to play. A ton of suspense was created by not being able to see very well at most portions of the game, being weaponless doesn't help much when you open a door to a baddie right there with no real immediate place to hide, so you end up running for your life searching frantically for a dark room to hide in, but not for too long or you can watch your sanity start to nose dive. Unlike CoC though there is an actual sanity meter, and it seems to have no real effect on the overall game at least nothing that i discovered. As i said though overall great game and worth a play through. With winter break up IL have ample opportunity to get through some games and many other things iv been meaning to do lately so IL keep you posted on whats going on, so far though its just the slow grind of mission grinding to get titles for guild wars. I want my gear before GW2 comes out what can i say?

stay tuned! =D
Overall pretty amazing game. Good pacing, good story, good balance between action adventure and FPS, but utterly horrible ending and a completely broken stealth system, which actually really comes into play in the last level. the ending cut-scene could have been better, but it could have been worse, either way I'm happy with what they did. The final boss fight on the other hand is what pissed me off. Mother hydra sits in a temple. She sits through out the entire "boss fight" if you could call it that. More like a puzzle that involves some deep one enemies that you wouldn't have gotten unless you spent three hours figuring out, or in my case reading the walk through (i was minutes away from the final cut-scene i wanted to just beat this shit and find out what happens) You basically shoot a giant gong to possess one of hydra's deep one's she throws at you to jump up and hit a switch...yes you hear me. The final boss fight consists of flipping switches, then you zap the water you filled up in the temple by flipping the switches and literally one hit mother hydra. There you go, that's the final boss. Complete, utter, grade A horse shit. I was rendered speechless at the stupidity of it and the fact mother hydra was ONE SHOT by my high tech space gun i get right before hand (convenient) Needless to say i was sorely let down. My newest gaming endeavor though happens to be a similar game. "Amnesia" made by the same people who created penumbra (almost looks like the same engine as well) which was actually a fairly entertaining, slow and a tad annoying at times but overall entertaining survival horror game. So i shall keep you informed at the ensuing BS with that game once i start playing it.
Upon hearing she had Alan Wake i immediately put in a request to borrow it. Iv heard a lot about it from some friends of mine, and the fucked up shit that ends up happening through out it. Upon playing it however, iv come to the conclusion that yes indeed is it fucked, i mean the amount of mind fuck that occurs through out the story of this game is incredible, but i cant help but find every corner of this game covered in the sticky love juices the writers produced over Steven king and Lovecraft, sure they're amazing writers but does the first words out of the narrators mouth need to be "Steven king?" i mean they aren't even subtle about it both are mentioned at least 50 times through out the game or at least referenced. that just set me off, but once i started receiving texts from a kidnapper "misspelling profanity at me" it just went too far. The combat in t his game is the most horrible thing iv seen in a third person action game. Sure the use the flashlight to destroy the darkness and the whole darkness as an enemy concept in general is actually really cool, but my god the dodge button really soon becomes your best friend, and unfortunately hes that retarded friend who follows you everywhere and ruins everything. When you have 7 baddies attacking you all at once with melee attacks and all you have is ranged attacks it ends up being a race to how many times you can click the dodge button in 10 seconds which by then your dead because you've dodged straight into an enemy appearing out of nowhere and oops it hurts to touch these guys. Its got me frustrated to the point i don't want to continue but christ if I'm not so close to beating it i have to finish it! its perfect the game plays itself out in episodes though considering i cant stand to play it more than one episode at a time before i fucking explode! by the way if your that guy in the northwest who decides to chuck random lithium batteries in the middle of the forest for no real reason, kudos to you buddy.

I bought the game of the year edition of borderlands last week and immediately after purchased saw something that sent me into a fit of rage that didn't end until the next day. The game of the year edition comes with all the DLC including the newly released clap trap revolution DLC. The thing is though the game doesn't actually come with the DLC. Instead you get a 'voucher' to download them all from the PlayStation network store. A download i might add that took me a full day and a half with my shitty Internet. This as i mentioned at least 80 times that day, is a fucking outrage. if i had wanted to download all the DLC i would have oh i dunno...just downloaded all the DLC! ya sure maybe its cheaper buying it this way but i could have saved a trip to the store and a full day of RAGE!!!! not to mention there are people out there who still don't have an Internet connection, or one that wont take them a whole week to download it all. Other than that though its an amazing game. I played it through once on the PC a year ago, for about a month straight it was close to all i did. Borderlands had completely consumed my soul in the quest for golds, and now its happened all over again. on the exception of mind numbing homework and a break for an old PS1 classic silent hill 2. a absolutely beautiful game for the time. A superb example of how a survival....SURVIVAL horror game should be. unfortunately these days most developers focus on the horror and even then its usually just gore and overplayed BOO! moments. More focus on the survival aspect gives you more of a sense of "oh shit! this shit can kill me in two hits i only have 4 bullets and one health pack and..OH GOD there are five more zombie things coming at me oh shit oh shit oh shit!!!" and not so much" "WHOAH..scary pop up monster ooOOooOO.....now lets shoot it to death with my near infinite ammo" this shitty gameplay mechanic needs to jump off a cliff and developers need to fall back on some more old school elements to refresh a stagnant horror genre. Anyways with that said and done its time to numb my brain some more then go snipe so skags!
Iv never been much of a halo fan, so never quite got used to the style of combat in it. Though i think that goes completely out the window when legendary mode is activated. One thing iv noticed though and its really beginning to piss me off. Is the fact the friendly AI for the troops that come to "help" you don't get any better as the difficulty is raised. They re fucking retarded in easy mode, but so is the enemy AI. Who will let you run circles around them standing struck by the aura master chief emanates. In hard mode even the lil grunts eat sleep and breath KILL MASTER CHIEF. Apparently though, the friendly marine soldiers who came into help me still thought this was a training mission. All ten of my allies were brutally murdered in all about .05 seconds. Its lead to the point iv forgotten i even receive "help" from these people.

For some nostalgic reasons i wont go into. Once fall hits i always reinstall stronghold. i Still don't know why i do this, but i do. I play through the campaign, and i inevitably end up messing around in the map editor which doubles as a free open realm slaughter house. let me give you an example
*hmmmm. Lets put a bunch of deer here next to these trees. Wow that looks great. ok now lets put some wolves in the middle of their herd. Oh lets see what happens to these now very full wolves when BEARS are put next to them. Now lets see if these bears have room for some ladder men. Oh shit bears taste armored steel knights.
Its actually a really pathetic yet hilarious sight to see, and alot o f fun will be had tonight. In the meantime. Back to halo.

I will be making it a point to continue with vindictus. If it'll let me actually play for more than 3 hours at a time, without needing to patch. Damn beta's all to hell. All frustration aside it is a genuinely fun game to play. The source engine makes it immensely entertaining. Just picture me tossing chunks of a pillar at mobs, or beating a boss monster over the head with a plank of wood. i think i wont ever run out of random pieces of rubble to dispatch baddies with, and therefore will forever hold my attention. Im still attempting to beat halo:combat evolved on legendary. a feat im taking in slow toddler sized morsels, or else the rage of how utterly fucking ridiculously hard it is will consume me whole. I also eventually would like to finally finish Torchlight. a really fun diablo look alike. with the releases of the now announced gran turismo 5, and dirt 3 around next years bend. i see myself spending alot of time behind the virtual wheel. which will produce mass amounts of nerd rage and ranting, much to your un ejoyment. so definitely stick around for a few months, as for short term rants and rage. completely off topic from gaming, though many, many people can connect with me on this one. i really, really hate freshman. i wont go into details, other than they invade my place of work like a horde of hormonal horny retarded ass dip shits, and there is no escape. god help me.

Its now 4:30 in the afternoon, and after the page had crashed, forum posts, and jaime's threats to repeatedly punch all nexon staff members in the dick for each hour gone by its not open. Its STILL not up. Frankly were starting to get a little fed up, and impatient. We can only spam F5 for so long, at least until the site crashes again. At this point though i think I'm ready to take a road trip to the nexon company's HQ and start some dick punching. I never heard of the game until a few days ago. apparently jaime had been looking forward to it for quite some time (fyi jaime is one of my room mates) after checking it out I'm quite excited to play it. Though id be playing it right now, but of course not. As i mentioned in my previous post iv never really liked any of the games after the first one. the story in my opinion turned to shit, the game play even worse. to the point when 3 came out i had problems withstanding my gag reflex when i started playing it. The fact that reach is returning to the game play style (with the addition of the armor abilities of course) and the story that got me hooked in the first place. So i dug around till i found the first game for PC, installed it and proceeded to play it till 5 in the morning. and plan to do so again tonight. My goal is to beat it before tomorrow night, just so i can beat reach in one night co-op. needless to say I'm looking froward to the next few days. Which for not being an x-box fan much less a halo fan, has me just as surprised as my friends. Either way good or bad, I'm going to play it. I'm going to beat it. Then I'm gonna rant about it. For with every good game. comes a hardcore rant. Which reminds me the amount of rage that will be induced when i start up FF13 again in a few weeks. Trust me on that one. You'll get to hear all about it.
enjoy your evening people I'm going to have me a good game of ZOMBIES!!! the board game, which if you haven't heard or played it before. Do it. Its amazing

Now I'm not the biggest halo fan, i liked the first game alot and must have clocked in lover a hundred hours worth of play between me and my friends. Iv always thought though after the seconds in the series the game went far downhill, slamming at the bottom of my respect-o-meter with the third game. I never had a chance to play ODST, so my opinion is worthless for it. I traded in my x-box for a PS3 two years ago, so for the most part xbox only titles never really caught my interest. Until lately that is, moving in with a guy who owns one himself i now have the ability to play those titles and he can play PS3 titles. I think its a fairly win win situation. So after reading several previews, watched every game play trailer, and falling in love with the live action trailers (which if a live action halo movie was anything like those trailers id sell my soul to see it) I'm now officially completely stoked to play this game. So, my conclusion?
Only three more fucking days.

I haven't played guild wars for too long compared to many others, but iv grown to absolutely love the game. After playing the game of and on for about a year. Then one day i went online and saw the announcement for guildwars two and forever afterwards followed the games' production. Its been close to three years now, and its nearly finished. With every new release of class info i have massive nerdogasms, and watch the videos at least six times over. Its come to the point of near fanaticism, and I'm getting really tired of waiting for this damn game to come out! It takes all the shitty parts of the first game, and makes it better! Every single piece of game play info that's been released just adds onto the amazing qualities this game has, and looks utterly gorgeous. Point being i cannot wait for this game to come out already.

Oh. i guess i do have a rant for you today. I don't ever EVER want to rez in guildwars right next to a level 30 boss and 5 level 25 mobs. ever....ever again minus 60 stats in shivering peaks isn't the greatest. all i have to say is after a good ten minutes of pure rage and frustration i finally killed him. Good game, Goodnight.

Iv finally kicked my ass into doing it though so here you go.

In the beginning there was nothing. Then came the anonymous god who gave the world such things like Magic the gathering, WoW free servers, and d&d and low and behold amongst all the instantaneous bullshit created coffee formed as well, and the world was never again the same.
Over 9000 years later yours truly comes into the scene. Full of nerd rage, angst, and much butthurt. determined to wade through the field of noobs BS builds and decks and retarded DM's and writers block to have even just a minuscule amount of entertainment, and the end product is now here for your enjoyment. so for your enjoyment i bring you, your first rant.

Duke Nukem Forever. I really don't think i need to explain a whole lot here the amount of rage this game has caused by not doing anything at all! It has sat there. Teasing every damn gamer since 98. Every other year it seems they announce they're continuing with it, then 6 months later cancelled....AGAIN. This pattern has continued for over a decade to the point any discussion of the game brings laughter to many, especially every fucking anon. For years iv completely written the game off, just to find out that not only did they announce the game continuing, but people got to fucking play the game iv waited a decade to finally play. Add the fact that if i had decided to buy my ticket to pax a week earlier before they sold out, id have played it. but NO. of course not, and there you go theres my rant of the day enjoy bitches <3
