What is it about Republicans and the letter R?

Is this a mere coincidence or does that letter have significance beyond the fact that the word “Republican” begins with  R and Republican states are colored Red (another “R” word for you)?

I know, there I go again with another one of my conspiracy theories. I just have a hard time believing in anything THAT coincidental.

I would love to hear your own theory on that one!

Don’t even get me started on the Field of Nightmares called “candidates.” If those are the best and brightest this country has to offer, then we are, indeed, in big trouble. Oh, wait…we ARE in big trouble!!!

Now that 2012 is here, we see that global events are heating up dramatically. The Arab Spring is turning into a Nuclear Winter. As the Muslim Brotherhood takes over (as we predicted),  life in the once (somewhat)  stable Middle Eastern countries, is now one huge question mark. Will a new Palestinian state be forced upon the sovereign state of Israel or will this small, U.N.-sanctioned,  pro-American,  country find itself under siege,  yet again?  Will they react proactively to save their tiny country from annihilation?

Remember when I told you that 2012 is here? For those of you who heeded my warning and took action, I commend you. If you have GOLD in your possession, then you have nothing to fear. If your gold is in a mutual fund, stock, or  retirement account, you may want to reconsider your position. The government can confiscate these accounts in times of dire emergencies. And, who defines this “dire emergency?” Why the government, of course.

If you don’t hedge your bets, and soon, your future will remain sketchy. There will be panic in the streets and you will deeply regret your lack of action.

Look around, folks. What do you see? The U.S. is facing a debt crisis unlike anything in  history.

But, don’t panic just yet. You are prepared! Right? You’ve bought and stored your GOLD, FOOD SUPPLIES, and WATER. You can and WILL survive 2012!

If you didn’t take my advice last week…SHAME ON YOU! The U.S. currency is crumbling. In fact, currencies around the world are falling like proverbial “lead balloons.”

Can’t afford gold? Then buy its little cousin, SILVER. More volatile than GOLD, but certainly stronger than the U.S. dollar…and it’s heading up, not down.

With gold, food, and water, you have something tangible, something you can take with you into the woods until the dust settles and the panic in the streets subsides. The dollar will be worthless. The monetary system will be based on the gold standard, just as it was prior to World War I.

If you didn’t jump into the bandwagon last week, you need to know that it’s not too late. GOLD may not go straight up (nothing does), but it will continue to bounce higher and higher over this next election year.

Now that we’re in the second quarter of 2011, let’s revisit some Mayan Calender theories.  Does the fact that this infamous calendar ends on December 21, 2012 mean the end is near or simply that the Mayans randomly decided not to create a new calendar?

There are two primary schools of thought on the subject of 2012.

The first one believes we are entering a new age of enlightenment. The “New Agers” of the 1960′s foretold of this Age of Aquarius, where nations come together in a time of unity, peace, and brotherhood. Those who believed in the “One World” premise were thought to be lunatics. But, perhaps, they were “insiders” who knew of a secret plan that is now coming to fruition.

Is not the world growing smaller as countries become more and more interdependent on one another? The strength of the United Nations is gaining power, not losing it. The United States is deeply in debt to China and recently signed a disarmament pact with our “former” enemy,  Russia.  Can they be trusted? Can we?

Perhaps this enlightenment will manifest as a higher state of consciousness for all mankind. There will be no more wars. No more territorial borders. No more national leaders. As John Lennon said, “And the world will be as one.”

The second school believes that the world will end on December 21, 2012. Is the end close at hand? Are we not experiencing more tsunamis, earthquakes, tornadoes, and hurricanes than ever before? Did we not just experience one of the coldest winters in recorded history? What about the recent disasters in Indonesia, Haiti, Chili, and, the Mother of all disasters…the Japan earthquake/tsunami/nuclear reactor malfunction.  Each catastrophe grows exponentially in its magnitude and devastation.

What exactly is going on?

We are still hearing rumors about the mysterious Planet X being on a collision course with earth. If this happens, will this cause a huge polar shift and create even more natural disasters, such as the eruptions of super volcanoes? Will only the strong, ruthless, and prepared survive these catastrophes?

Will Australia and the Philippines sink into the ocean? Will countries with nuclear power plants and reactors explode and destroy the earth’s atmosphere, water, and food supply?

There are more questions than answers at this point in time. As the date draws near, remain vigilant and prepared. The more proactive you are, the less helpless you will feel during the next emergency.  Make sure you have a minimum of three months of food and water. Discuss a survival and escape plan with your family.

No matter how hard you try to avoid thinking about it, the Mayan Calendar clock continues to tick, tick, tick.

The date is December 21, 2012 and the Mayans were proven right.

No! Wait! It’s March 11, 2011, and Japan is under siege. Not since World War II has this country known such horror.

The world held its collective breath as this heavy-populated nation experienced the fourth largest earthquake in recorded history. This seismic event, along with the subsequent tsunami, rattled nerves around the globe as scientists scurried to prevent a nuclear holocaust. Since numerous nuclear reactor power plants were compromised, the end result may remain uncertain for many years to come.

Reports from Japanese politicos conflicted sharply with reports from U.S. scientists. What is the truth behind the story? What are the facts? The Obama Administration sent the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan Aircraft Carrier Battle Group of the 7th Fleet into this heart of darkness and exposed these courageous souls to untold levels of radioactivity.

Who in the Administration gave this irresponsible order? Who should we believe? Which government? Which news source? Is there a grain of truth in any of them?

By week’s end, over 140,000 people had been evacuated from the 50-mile radius around the power plants.

The big question on the mind of every U.S. citizen: Would radiation reach the shores of North America? And, if it did, would the citizens be forewarned?

With a government completely lacking in credibility, how does a frightened populace protect itself? One thing is certain…they were not waiting for a government bail-out. Valuable lessons have been learned over the years about what the government will and will not do for its people.

Scores of people took matters into their own hands. Bottles of Potassium Iodide flew off the shelves of pharmacies and online stores. Unfortunately, many people swallowed the pills prematurely and became extremely ill. These pills are used to prevent thyroid cancer, but are only effective for 48 hours AND only AFTER exposure to radiation. These pills can, in themselves, be toxic and must be used with extreme caution and only when there is a certainty of radiation.

Not to unduly alarm you, but it appears that 2012 is rearing its ugly head right now! Is this a preview of coming attractions, or is the Mayan calendar off by a year? Are we entering the end times after all? Earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, cyclones, raging wildfires, riots, and revolutions. Mass hysteria and pandemonium seem to be the norm, not the exception.

Is democracy the true reason for the uprisings in the Middle East or is something more sinister brewing? We are now being swept into a new war with Libya…to what end? Is the devil we know better than the devil we don’t? Has this Administration not learned anything from the critical mistake made by former President Carter who stabbed the Shah of Iran in the back, thus empowering the Ayatollah Khomeini and, eventually, opening the door to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? Will the Muslim Brotherhood save Libya and the Middle East, or will they make Moammar Gadhafi seem like a Boy Scout?

The one lesson we should all take away from these nightmare scenarios is that emergency situations can arise anytime, anywhere, without warning.  Here’s a list of some of the major disasters of just this last decade:

“Earthquakes are the deadliest natural hazard of the past 10 years and remain a serious threat for millions of people worldwide,” said Magareta Wahlstrom, the UN Secretary General’s special representative for disaster risk reduction. Almost 60% of the people killed by natural disasters in the past decade lost their lives in earthquakes. Eight out of 10 of the world’s most populous cities are located on fault lines, including Tokyo, Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Mumbai.

Are you prepared for the next catastrophic event?

If the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan taught us anything, it’s that we must be well prepared for any crisis. We may only have a few minutes to save our lives. As for radiation poisoning, before you buy pills that might kill you, ingest Yogurt, bananas, and deep water seafood rich in iodine. Always try the natural approach first.

The media wants you to panic. Your government will not save you. You can and will survive if you plan ahead.

I believe it  impossible for a person of this time period to come close to understanding the Mayan mind of three thousand years ago. We have built-in prejudices that we cannot escape. Mel Gibson didn’t enlighten us one bit in his film,  “Apolcalypto.”

What we do know for sure is that the Mayans loved life, nature, and the universe. They were in wonder of small things like flowers and insects. Nature was entwined with them in a very special and personal manner. From their writings, we know that the terms “life” and “death” were in some ways one and the  same. Death was a continuation of life, much in the same way that it was with the ancient Egyptians.

The Mayans understood the transitory nature of life. They had a way of marking time and fitting things in, as they occurred, and then anticipating the return of the same things. I’m sure this had to do with them trying to make the most of every moment.

Sacrifice started because the Mayans noticed, whether by accident or on purpose,  that the more they sacrificed, the better things became for them.  Although Hernando Cortez was against these rituals, the sacrifices and blood-letting continued. Perhaps it all started with the “bad-smelling” Europeans. Since cleanliness truly was next to Godliness to the Mayans, the Europeans did not seem worthy of life.

Mankind is approaching a turning point…a course we’ve been on for 5000 years or more. As fatalists, the Mayans understood this course and fully accepted it. They knew that no amount of sacrifice would change the future. Sacrifice for a better outcome to present conditions was one thing, but beyond that, the Mayans knew the future could not be changed. What was ordained to happen in the future could never be altered, and they accepted that fact.

In a sense, although 2012 is yet to happen, if you fully understand the time continuum of the Mayans, you realize that 2012 has already happened. The end of 2012 is a sacrifice also, isn’t it? Time itself is a sacrifice; a sacrifice to the future. And then,  like all temporal things, there will still be something unknown in the future…something yet to be discovered.  Rich Mc Nally
