Black holes detected in Dallas!

I guess you really can't make this stuff up. From the Dallas City Hall Blog:

A special meeting about Dallas County traffic tickets turned tense and bizarre this afternoon.

County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments and handle other paperwork normally done by the JP Courts.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

Wait for it, although the "who is white" should give you a hint:

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."

That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.
Mayfield shot back that it was a figure of speech and a science term.

I guess Commissioner Price and Judge Jones have been too busy playing the race card to broaden their rather limited horizons. Speaking of which, all this is from the Houston Chronicle's SciGuy Eric Berger who observes:

Judge Jones should be very glad that the central collections office has not become a white hole, a theoretical object that ejects matter from beyond its event horizon, rather than sucking it in.

Kind of like Al Gore, I guess.

Update - Sheesh, there's a video of these two geniuses and one keeps digging with the eructation 'that terms like "devil's food cake" and "black sheep of the family," are also racially insensitive.'

As is traditional in recent national election years, it's time for the Democrats to start lying to the American people who would be horrified to know what they are up to when the citizens aren't watching. As Ann Coulter observed,

It's going to take a lot of "framing" for Democrats to recast Obama's explanation to San Francisco cafe society that gun ownership and a belief in God are the byproducts of a psychological disorder brought on by economic hardship.

It is an article of faith with the Democrats that they must fool Americans by simulating agreement with normal people. The winner of the Democratic primary is always the candidate who does the best impersonation of an American.

While marginally better than Her Thighness, Barack Obama really hasn't done too well in the impersonation department despite his "speechifying skills" (in the presence of a teleprompter, at least), but it is early days yet. As evidence that he is going to give it the old Harvard lawyer try, check out his newly revised stand on 2nd Amendment rights where all of a sudden Barack is all for folks owning handguns for protecting themselves and their families after opposing it for years. Next thing you know he'll be getting shooting lessons.

Still, gun owners aren't going to believe this new Obama any more than they believed the "new" John Kerry in 2004. Here's a snip from an NRA assessment of Obama's record:

Gosh, Weasley Clark is back and Barack Obama has him!

Since he isn't running for President this time around, we haven't seen too much of former General Wesley "Weasley" Clark, probably the worst general in modern American history. I've kind of missed Wesley's delusional rantings like "President Bush was warned ahead of time about 9/11" and "does not want to find Osama bin Laden," not to mention the Vast Republican Conspiracy against him, but I'd assumed he was comfortably tucked away in some sinecure by folks who wanted the prestige of employing a former general and weren't too particular about hiring someone who got fired as NATO commander and was a few fries short of a Happy Meal.

Wrong!

It turns out that Weasley is being employed by none other than Barack Obama as a "military affairs" surrogate since Obama can't tell his rifle from his gun and apparently endorses Wesley's bizarre views. Clark appeared in that role this morning on Face the Nation, where he mostly demeaned John McCain's military service. It isn't clear how that improved the Obamessiah's non-existent credentials, but then as John Hawkins observes:

Of all the "ex-generals" floating around out there, perhaps the most odious is Wesley Clark.

I wonder if Barack has a cabinet position all lined up for this wingnut?

From Berlin, Germany comes 'Manure-Bomb' Thieves Fall Into Dung, Flee Crime Scene Naked:

A woman trying to make "manure bombs" using stockings, slipped into a slurry tank and fled the scene naked, German police said on Friday.
Two women entered a farm in the northern village of Eberholzen on Wednesday evening and started to fill the stockings with manure.

"One of them slipped into the manure tank, right into the cow muck," said a spokesman for local police. "The other one helped her out. We found their clothes in a field. One seems to have run off completely naked, the other in her underwear."

Police said it was unclear what the women had intended to do with the "manure bombs," but added the incident could be linked to victory celebrations surrounding the Euro 2008 semi-finals on Wednesday evening, when Germany beat Turkey 3-2.

I'm a tad puzzled as to why one would fill stockings with manure since I would think they would leak all over the place and I sure wouldn't try to fill them without a ladle. I am similarly bemused by exactly what one does with a "manure bomb" at a victory celebration, but I can think of a few possibilities.

Lorain County (Ohio) Common Pleas Judge James Burge is in the news for declaring that state's method of putting prisoners to death is unconstitutional because two of three drugs used in the lethal injection process can cause pain. The judge's whine is breaking my heart, particularly considering who he has on his office wall:

I guess the "revolutionary justice" that Che Guevara dispensed to those who would not toe the Communist line did not cause pain. Of course, it's nice to see more proof from the loon in judge's robes that there is overlap between Che Guevara and Barack Obama supporters. They do have a lot in common.

Barack Obama better get his cleanup squad over to Kenya where his half brother Malik is spoiling his "I never was a Muslim" effort:

Apparently the Obamas of Kenya have been reading those scurrilous emails to which Barack likes to refer, because they have no doubt -- contrary to the claims of the Obama campaign, that the presidential candidate was raised a Moslem. They take that as a given.

As the Jerusalem Post reports, "Barack Obama's half brother Malik said Thursday that if elected his brother will be a good president for the Jewish people, despite his Muslim background.

In a remarkable denial issued last November that still stands on the official campaign website, Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs issued a statement explaining that "Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised as a Muslim, and is a committed Christian."

Apparently Malik Obama, himself a Muslim, had not read the press release.

For some reason Barry's handlers have been going to great lengths to deny the extensive and ubiquitous evidence that Barack Hussein was born and raised a Muslim:

Obama was enrolled at his primary schools in Indonesia as a Muslim; he attended the mosque during that period; his friends from that time testify that he was a devout Muslim boy. A former teacher at one of these schools, Tine Hahiyary, remembers a young Obama who was quite religious and actively took part in "mengaji" classes which teach how to read the Koran in Arabic.

One has to wonder why this is such a big deal for Barry - I mean it's very little compared with the antisemites he used to schmooze with down at Trinity United Church where he was picking up the "audacity of hope" hustle. One reason may well be the example of his cousin, the thuggish Raila Odinga:

Then there is also Obama's troubling support for the Kenyan opposition leader -- and his cousin -- Raila Odinga, the leader of the violent uprising a few months ago against the newly elected Kenyan government and who signed a memorandum of understanding with Kenyan Muslims to turn Kenya into an Islamic state governed by sharia law. At the time, the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya released a statement in which church leaders said Odinga
comes across as a presumptive Muslim president bent on forcing Islamic law, religion and culture down the throats of the Kenyan people in total disregard of the Constitutionally guaranteed rights of freedom of worship and equal protection of the law for all Kenyans.
As the Atlas Shrugs site reported, Obama actually went to Kenya in 2006 and spoke at rallies in support of Odinga, causing the Kenyan government to denounce him as "Raila's stooge". Why was Obama supporting such a person? Why has no-one bothered to find out?

Let's see, Raila Odinga is East German educated, named his first son after Fidel Castro, and while he isn't a Muslim either, when his left wing party couldn't gain power in Kenya on its own he signed the deal with Muslim extremists. When he still didn't win, Odinga's followers went on a ethnic cleansing rein of terror until he was granted a role in the government.

Gee, I wonder why Barry doesn't want to talk about that? Expect old Malik to be thrown under the bus shortly and I wonder when we'll see Raila over here to campaign for the Obamessiah and give him a few tips?

The UN says to use wind-up alarm clocks to reduce global warming

Jogging in the park rather than on a treadmill at a gym can cut 1 kilogram of carbon dioxide, or CO2, the main pollutant blamed for global warming.

People living in wealthy countries emit more than 10 metric tons (11 tons) of CO2 each per year, a figure that must drop to 2 metric tons by 2050 to slow the rate of temperature increases, according to the German environment ministry. About half of an individual's carbon output can be eliminated with ``little or no change in comfort,'' the UNEP said.

Obama throws his whole church under the bus!

Barack Obama finally decided that his membership in the Trinity United Church of Christ was too much of a political liability and today he tossed them under the bus:

At a news conference in Aberdeen, S.D., after the news emerged on the blog of a black journalist in Chicago, Obama said he and his wife, Michelle, had notified the church in a letter Friday that they “were withdrawing as members of Trinity,” in part because of “a cultural and a stylistic gap.”

That's Obama speak for "they're spoiling my con job by letting everyone see that they're freaking nuts." Actually we only have evidence that the leaders of Trinity United are racist loons, but if the congregation doesn't share the lunacy, they still sat there and listened to it Sunday after Sunday. Kind of like Barack Obama.

Hmm, if Barack is cleaning house of moonbat associates who can't keep their mouths shut, how long before Michelle goes under the bus?

Gosh, it's funny how all of Barack Obama's old chums are more than a few fries short of a happy meal. Take Father Michael Pfleger who has been Barack's pal since the lad first moved to Chicago, and who until recently had his endorsement of the Obamessiah prominently featured on the Obama campaign web site. That endorsement just disappeared and a likely reason is this performance at Obama's own Trinity United Church on May 25, 2008.

Maybe it's something in the water at Trinity United - everybody there is nuts except for Obama who was asleep and now claims to be "surprised." Sure, we believe ya Barry!

Rule No. 1: Never let the United Nations handle money

Today's case in point - Billions wasted on UN climate programme:

Billions of pounds are being wasted in paying industries in developing countries to reduce climate change emissions, according to two analyses of the UN's carbon offsetting programme.
Leading academics and watchdog groups allege that the UN's main offset fund is being routinely abused by chemical, wind, gas and hydro companies who are claiming emission reduction credits for projects that should not qualify. The result is that no genuine pollution cuts are being made, undermining assurances by the UK government and others that carbon markets are dramatically reducing greenhouse gases, the researchers say.
The criticism centres on the UN's clean development mechanism (CDM), an international system established by the Kyoto process that allows rich countries to meet emissions targets by funding clean energy projects in developing nations.

Actually it's kind of funny. The "rich" countries get scammed twice: once by the global warming foolishness and again by UN-sponsored grifters.

A working paper from two senior Stanford University academics examined more than 3,000 projects applying for or already granted up to $10bn of credits from the UN's CDM funds over the next four years, and concluded that the majority should not be considered for assistance. "They would be built anyway," says David Victor, law professor at the Californian university. "It looks like between one and two thirds of all the total CDM offsets do not represent actual emission cuts."

"Traders are finding ways of gaining credits that they would never have had before. You will never know accurately, but rich countries are clearly overpaying by a massive amount," said Victor.

A separate study published this week by US watchdog group International Rivers argues that nearly three quarters of all registered CDM projects were complete at the time of approval, suggesting that CDM money was not needed to finance them.

The UN says they are carefully checking every CDM project and there sure are heap big emissions cuts. Of course, they checked every deal in the Iraq Oil-for-Food program and what they mostly checked was how much money they could stash in their personal bank accounts.

All of which reminds me of the sole piece of serious legislation that Barack Obama has sponsored in the US Senate - the so-called Global Poverty Act. Now this isn't the usual goofy plan that just sends more cash directly to the Third World Dictator Lifestyle Enhancement Fund. The Global Poverty Act would require the USA to comply with the United Nations Millennium Declaration and give 0.7% of our GDP from 2002 through 2015 to the UN to supposedly reduce global poverty. This is all part of the UN's Millennium Project run by former Columbia professor Jeffrey Sachs who reckons that the way to screw the required '$845 billion "over and above what the U.S. already spends"' out of the taxpayers is to put a UN tax on carbon-emitting fossil fuels. Then after the UN handles the cash and subtracts their overhead, they in turn put the remaining loot in the Third World Dictator Lifestyle Enhancement Fund.

Naturally since it's the UN we're talking about, it's interesting to speculate how much of the loot will actually get sidetracked to the UN Kleptocrats Lifestyle Enhancement Fund. After the UN got burned badly over the Iraq Oil for Food scandal they started requiring public financial disclosure from top bureaucrats so maybe now it's all OK? Bwahahaha - it's a canonical UN farce: (emphasis mine)

Translation: public disclosure at the UN can consist of signing a statement in which the only information imparted to the public is that you refuse to disclose anything except… your refusal to disclose.

For more detail, Matthew Russell Lee of Inner-City Press has been combing through and among many intriguing discoveries makes the excellent observation that among the 190 UN senior officials urged by Ban to fling themselves under the 10-watt glare of public disclosure described above, less than half were even as forthcoming as, say, Iqbal Riza. They wouldn’t even put their names on the site — or, as Matthew neatly put it, they have “not even consented to disclose their decision to maintain confidentiality.” This group includes — to name just a sampling — UN poverty guru and Under-Secretary-General Jeffrey Sachs; Ban’s special envoy for Burma, Ibrahim Gambari; and UN Controller Warren Sach.
Lest we forget, the purpose of this disclosure exercise, as Ban’s spokesperson announced last week, is to show that UN staff members “understand the importance” of assuring the rest of us “that in the discharge of their official duties and responsibilities, UN staff members will not be influenced by any consideration associated with his/her private interests.”

Sure - we believe ya!

There's lot's more wrong with the UN Millenium Declaration including banning "small arms and light weapons" and ratifying the International Criminal Court Treaty and the Kyoto Protocol (global warming treaty) among others and thereby giving them the force of law in the USA, but the biggest problem has to be that it violates Rule No. 1: Never let the United Nations handle money. However, there actually may now be room for another rule: Never let Barack Obama decide the foreign policy of the United States.

No, it's not some goofy religious sect member in Texas, it's Barack Obama Sr. who knocked up Barack Obama Jr.'s hippie chick mom before she turned 18.

I'm being a little unfair since Big Daddy Obama had only one wife at the time he knocked her up and it's never been proved that he actually married Stanley Ann Dunham, so legally polygamy (or at least bigamy) may have had to await his marriage to his third "wife." The Obamessiah's reticence about releasing his birth certificate despite the way it impedes attempted debunkings of the rumors that his real name is Barak Hussein Muhammed Obama lends credence to the suspicion that it was less a marriage than a shacking up. Or maybe Muhammed actually is one of Barry's middle names.

Of course, the wackiest thing is that Momma Obama filled little Barry's head with the nobility of the "dreams of his father" and was the ghost writer for his tome on the subject when all evidence indicates that about the only noble thing Big Daddy ever did was leave her his name after the five minutes he spent with her.

Another big Barack Obama supporter: Hatem El-Hady, former chairman of the Toledo-based Islamic charity Kindhearts, closed by the US government in 2006 for terrorist fundraising: Terrorist Fundraisers for Obama.

El-Hady has now devoted himself to raising money for Barack Obama; he has a page at the official Obama campaign web site, with three “friends” listed on it: “Rick,” “Fatima from Toledo, Ohio,” and ... Michelle Obama.

Note: when someone is listed as a “friend,” it means they specifically chose it. In other words, Michelle Obama’s name isn’t there because El-Hady put it there — it’s there because she chose to be listed as his friend.

Something tells me that the public part of this friendship won't last. Back to the harem, Michelle.
