Washington Entrepreneurs Come Together to Show Beauty at its Best
An Evening of Shopping and Networking

(Washington, DC) -- At 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, The District's fashionistas and Washington business women will gather at The City Tavern Club on fashionable M Street in Georgetown to meet local mavens in the Beauty and Fashion industry. Ladies will nosh on hors d'oeuvres and sip cocktails, as they meet young female entrepreneurs in the "Beauty Biz", and peruse each boutique's booth. Ada Polla Tray and her team from Alchime Forever will give attendees individualized skincare analysis. Kassie Rempel of SimplySoles.com and Valerie Lucas of Coup de Foudre will tease women with a taste of the high-end shoes and bras that can be found at their respective boutique. Betsy Fisher Albaugh will bring a sampling of her store's best, and Allison Brooks of Queen Bee Designs will set up a bee hive full of jewelry for women to try on.

When I first opened Coup de Foudre Lingerie, five years ago, a friend of mine, Amy A, gave me the most original gift- a pink & black corset purse! It was perfect...and so in line with my new business venture.

However, I would not dare to wear the corset purse because I thought I would get a few stare. We currently use it as a unique accent in the store. It's hard not to notice it. Many customers have commented on it over the years.

Recently, I came accross those Coffee Corset sleeve...they are cute...and sexy- and if you know me-I am really into my coffee. So, why not dress up my coffee cup for fun ? It's also a fantastic alternative to the wasteful cardboard sleeves typically used with disposable coffee cups to insulate your hands from your hot drink.

Garter Belt for Dummies: First Edition

Most women don't wear garter belt therefore few know how to put it on. This is one of our number 1 request at the store. How do you put it on?

May be it will take you 15 minutes to put one on the first time but after a few trial and error it will be easy..

Here's our "Garter Belt for Dummies", First Edition

Put the garter belt on, closing it so it rests on your hip bones. It should fit snuglly enough to stay in place when it is tugged at from the bottom.

Slide stockings on carefully. Once your stockings are properly positioned, grab the top of the stocking in front and hook it onto the clip that hangs straight down from the body of the garter belt

Then do the same to the top of the stocking at the back of your leg. This might require a bit of twisting.

Stand straight and adjust the strap length of each garter as needed.

Now put on your thong over your garter belt. This would allow you to take a quick bathroom break and would not require to take it all off. I bet you did not think about that one!

What to look for in a garter belt:

Take the same size as your panty

Make sure you can adjust the strap length of each garter.The straps should also be adjustable like bra straps allowing for height adjustments and be relatively easy to use only after a few tries.
Stick with garter belts that have metal hardware, they will hold your hosiery up more securely and the metal hardware will not deteriorate as the plastic will. The clasps are normally the first thing to break on poorly made belts.

Have a least one black garter in your lingerie drawer.

Wear it with a skirt (obviously) but not a mini skirt!

Why wear it?

1) Because you are tired of blowing off your money on pantyhose that keep running. At least with a garter you can change the deficient stocking.

2) Because HE LOVES IT! (All men love garter belts ... I don't know one that does not!)

Don't ruin your bra in conventional bra dryer anymore!

We keep telling customers not to put their bras in the dryer because it totally ruins the elastic and compromise the shape and support of their bra.

Well ...wait till you try the BRA DRYER...and no it's not an early April Fool's joke!

Bra Dryer is a simple device which is based on the presumption that the best way to dry bras without ruining their fabric, wiring and padding is to dry them on a shape which resembles female breasts. That's why Bra Dryer is shaped like a female torso.

A very gentle infrared (IR) heat source helps evaporate moisture from the bra fabric while silent fans inside the appliance help remove this moisture.

In short, Bra Dryer will do this:

Preserve bra shape

Dry bras faster

Free your time

... instead of doing this:

Damaging bras (as in conventional dryers)

Taking too long to dry (when you air dry it)

Taking your time (when your dry it with a blow dryer)
