A BIG thank you to Coupon Savvy for posting these great codes! Using these codes I'm able to see the movies that haven't made it to Netflix yet at NO COST! TIP: to use more then one code you will need to rent each movie that you'd like in a separate transaction, you can only use one code per transaction. Once again, THANK YOU COUPON SAVVY!

A couple of months ago there were $.50 and $1.00 coupons for Reach Toothbrushes. These coupons don't expire until the end of December. Some toothbrushes are as low as $1.72. Use these coupons and doubles and the toothbrushes are very cheap. In addition, buy 4 and you will receive a $4.00 catalina coupon which will make this a money maker. The catalina coupon will print until 6/12/11.

Viva 6-pack paper towels are on sale for $4.99 with the store coupon and has a limit of 2. The ad coupon is good thru Saturday. Wait until Friday to buy them because there is a $4.00 catalina coupon when you buy 2. There's a $5.00 catalina when you buy 3 but it's a better deal to get 2 because you will pay $6.99 for the third package. Also use the $1.00 VIVA manufacture coupon from the Albertsons Summer Coupon Book and use the Safeway doubles. After you use the catalina the paper towels end up being $1.49 for the 6 roll pack.

3 Minute Chocolate Peanut Butter Fugde

2011-05-17T22:11:00.000-07:00

Tonight I decided to try my hand at making fudge. I must admit that I've always been afraid to make it for fear that it was too hard. Boy was I wrong! At least when using this quick recipe that I found over at How Sweet It Is! YUMMY!

3 Minute Chocolate-Peanut Butter Fudge

1 1/2 cups chocolate morsels

1/2 cup sweetened, condensed milk

1/4 cup peanut butter

1 tablespoon water

Combine all ingredients in a microwave safe bowl. Heat on full power for 30 seconds, then remove and stir. Heat again for another 30 seconds, then stir again. Mixture should be smooth by this point, but you may need to microwave it 1-2 more times in 30 second increments depending on your microwave. You can also melt this mixture over a double boiler if you do not want to use a microwave.

When mixture is smooth, pour batter into a baking dish and pop in the fridge for 30 minutes or more. When ready to serve, cut into squares.

Where has the time gone~

2011-05-17T14:22:00.000-07:00

Wow, I realized today that I hadn't posted anything since the beginning of the month. Things have been so crazy. An update on my crazy life....we lost two of our chickens, Little Brown and Big Brown. We brought 2 new chickens home last Saturday. Its been frustrating because Jumper has been very territorial with the youngest one "velvet" to the point that we are worried. I didn't realize that chickens can be so mean.

Emily broke her hand during a soccer game. We will find out later this week if she will need a different cast. This is her 3rd broken bone, 2 Christmas' ago she broke both of her bones in her right wrist. This girl just doesn't slow down. Its been debateable whether or not she will be able to compete at fair this year with her 4H club.

My son Tyler turns 19 in two weeks and will graduate with his class in June so we are quite busy with graduation parties and activities.

We keep putting off tilling the garden because of the weather. I've been so excited since we moved in last January to have this garden and now to have the delay is killing me!

Well enough about me, I'd love to hear what everyone else has been up to?!

Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Eggs

2011-04-24T19:10:00.000-07:00

Last weekend I got together with my 2 sisters and we made chocolate covered marshmallow eggs. This was something our mother did when we were growing up. Having a mother that had a hand dipped chocolate shop, we always had SOMETHING chocolate going on. Anyway this year we decided to make them on our own, as mom's a snowbird in AZ each winter. They may have not turned out beautiful like hers but we had a GREAT time! We even shipped a few to mom and dad in AZ but not all of them survived the heat.

And last but not least this is my youngest daughter Emily with my sister Jonna

Our little farm.....

2011-04-16T23:02:00.000-07:00

I just wanted to share a couple photos of our little peace of heaven. Last night when we left to the store I found 12 deer in the lower yard, 4 were under a tree and I couldn't get a very good shot of them. The pic below shows 8 of them.

Also adding a couple pics of our favorite girls!

NSP Homescan details.....

2011-04-16T22:26:00.000-07:00

As I promised, here is some more information for the scanner that I got Friday....

The National Consumer Panel is a marketing research company that gathers information from average people like you and me and then processes it and sells it to various companies that want statistics on the buying habits of the American public.

Basically what we do is scan the barcodes of EVERY (seriously, EVERY) item we purchase every day. It could be something as simple as a pop at the gas station, we scan it. A large trip to Aldi, we scan it. NCP provides a hand scanner and detailed instructions.

Once a week, the scanner automatically transmits the information online to NCP and they add points into our point account. The more we transmit, the more points we get. In other words, if we go for so many consecutive weeks without forgetting to transmit our purchases, the number of points we get each week goes up. If we forget, so we still get the minimum.

After you have been a member for a certain length of time (I think it is 60 days, but don’t quote me on that) you can trade your points in for rewards.

Let me just tell you, their rewards are really nice.
We could get:

Cuisinart Sandwich Grill (24,000 points)
Hoover Cordless Wet/Dry Hand Vac (22,000 points)
Huffy 6″ Princess Scooter (24,000 points)

and the list goes on. There are a TON of cool rewards we could turn our points in for, I just listed a few to give you an idea of what is out there.

Some things that interest me in the future are:

6 qt. Slow Cooker (28,000 points)
Wenzel 2 Room Ponderosa Sport Dome Tent (48,000 points)
Nintendo DL Lite (144,000 points)
Samsung Camcorder (132,000 points)
XBox 360 Elite Package (315,000 points)

And the list goes on. They also do quarterly drawings. The reward right now is a family vacation for four, a car, or $20,000 in cash! Again, the more you transmit, the better your chances are of winning one of the quarterly prizes. The panel will also email you surveys every so often. (I probably get two or so a week). You can log into their website, complete the survey (Most take about 2-3 minutes to complete) and you are given extra points for that. The points can really add up fast if you aren’t forgetful like me.

If you are interested in joining, check out their site National Consumer Panel. Sign up. They may not have a need for your demographic right away, but they will store your information and contact you later down the road as an opening comes up for your area.

Now, I’ll be honest, all of that scanning takes time and is a big PAIN IN THE BUTT when you have already spent an hour or so at the grocery and still have to scan the items before you can put them away; but I am looking forward to the rewards, so in the end, I think it will be worth it!

Is anyone else a member of NCP? Drop a comment and let us know about your experience.

I'm an NCP scanner member....wahoo!

2011-04-16T13:45:00.000-07:00

I'm heading out the door for our soccer game but wanted to mention that yesterday I received my scanner from NCP. I will post more info later about what that means for those of you that have never heard of them. When I started couponing they had a pretty long waiting list so I decided not to apply. But then about a month ago my sister Jonna called me all excited that she had been chosen and it only took her 3 weeks. I decided to apply and was chosen 2 weeks ago! More info to follow later......we're off to the pitch!

2011-04-16T13:43:00.000-07:00

Thanks to my other sister, Jonna, I've found a new craft for me, making scrabble and tile pendants. It is sooo easy and a lot of fun. Today I made my first two, that I plan on giving to my little nieces. They aren't completely done, I have to wait 2 days for them to dry so that I can put the bails on for the necklace chains. Anyway I wanted to share with you guys my new hobby.

Newly Discovered Chicken and Rice Casserole

2011-04-10T09:20:00.000-07:00

Alright I must say that I missed the boat with Paula Deen. I've never been one to watch cooking shows, including Rachael Ray. However recently, I was watching quick little videos to earn Swagbucks and came across a whole set of them for Paula Deen. I actually came away with a few recipes from her videos and they have ALL been great, but there is ONE that really stood out for me and I thought that I'd share it with all of you!

Extreme Couponing

2011-04-07T13:13:00.000-07:00

Last night many of you may have watched the episodes of Extreme Couponing. In one episode the gal pointed out her rotating shelf that she uses to store her canned food. The shelf is designed to keep all your canned goods in order of expiration date, it ensures that you are using up your food storage with the oldest first etc. Anyway its a really cool item and it just so happens that my sister Jamie (yes the one that I compete with and STILL owe a lunch or dinner to for her amazing savings last year) is a rep for Shelf Reliance, the company that sells this rotater shelf. You can check out her blog here. Going through Jamie she can save you some serious dough! Shelf Reliance has many other items as well for food storage and emergency preparedness.
