Late last night (Wed), I was at Albertsons on Eagle/McMillan. They had a good supply of Kraft shredded cheese, but were almost out of brick. They were out of Cool Whip and hot dogs. Went today to Cole/Fairview, good supply of cheese, no hot dogs or Cool Whip - truck coming Saturday. Overland/Orchard had some hot dogs (no I didn't take all of them), Cool Whip lite and Sugar Free (no regular), and absolutely, no Kraft cheese. I may be looking for some more hot dogs, but that's about it.

Albertsons Rounders This Sunday

Beginning this Sunday 8/29/10, Treasure Valley Albertsons will be trying out a new program. We won't be getting the doubler coupons that the rest of the region will be getting. We will start a new program, that does not require an additional coupon - I think it's being called Rounding. Very simply, any coupon under $1 will be automatically "rounded" to $1 by the register. So, if you have a 25c coupon (i.e. Bounty, or Puffs), it will "round" to $1.

A complete explanation of the trial program will be in Sunday's paper. Since there won't be doublers, you don't need to run out and buy multiple papers, unless you want the coupon inserts!

The reason behind this trial program is to counteract all the customers who have taken their doublers to Walmart. I personally hate shopping at Walmart, so I'm definitely not one of them. This is a trial program and my contact at Albertsons urged me to call Customer Care to voice my opinion of this program. If this program continues, I doubt I will be going to Albertsons as often as I have been. This may also effect the newspaper business - why get multiple papers if you will be using the high value coupons at face value? What is your thought on this new program?

Today's Idaho Statesman has a new $10 off $20 coupon stuck to the front top of the paper. Coupon is good 8/19 thru Sat 8/28. Can be used in conjunction with this 15% off coupon. The 15% will be applied to the balance AFTER the $10 comes off.

The cashiers will only take 1 coupon per person. Please plan on making multiple visits to the store.

Just got an email with a link to a new $1 Del Monte Fruit Chillers Cups or Tubes bricks coupon. Go here to print it (twice using your back button). This excited me, personally, because I managed to snag rain checks for this item last time it was on sale and we had doublers. Turns out, my hubby likes the cups, so this will be a great summer time treat at my house! With rumors of doublers coming Sunday, I'm excited!

Today's issue of the Idaho Statesman has a coupon "Take $10 off any purchase of $20 or more". It's good 4/29 (tomorrow) thru 5/9. Remember, you can use your 15% coupon with it - the percent will come off the balance after the $ off coupon.

As always, "Only one $10 coupon can be redeemed per customer". So, please don't make back to back purchases and expect to use multiple coupons. My cashiers are only allowed to take 1 per customer and I can't approve it either, because then I get in trouble. If you have multiple coupons, make multiple visits - coupon is good for 10 days!

Baskin-Robbins 31c scoop night

Boy, my in box has had some really good coupons lately. This bricks coupon from Dole was pretty exciting - Save 55c on two Dole Canned Fruits. The pineapple chunks go on sale at Albertsons for $1 quite frequently. With a "Twice the Value" coupon (doubler), you could get two cans for 90c!!!! These don't expire till 6/30/10, so plenty of time to match them up for the best deal.

DiGiorno Pizza has a new April Fools Day gag out, that will net you a $3 coupon on their new pizza and breadsticks. You can go here to go directly to the coupon, or go here to create an April Fools gag on Facebook and then print the coupon. You can also go to the main page and click print without creating a gag. My friend posted that she was going to be on a reality tv show and really got some of her friends going! It's a hoot!!!

Since it's a bricks coupon, you can hit backspace 3 times after the coupon prints and print a second coupon. With the April Fools tie-in, I wouldn't expect this coupon to be around after today. This looks to be a new product, so product launch would have it priced pretty low. Maybe free with the coupon??? That would be sweet!

I'm not aware of any awesome deals to match this coupon to, but you never know. When I registered with this site, about a year ago, I got a free sippy cup. My mother laughed, since my youngest is ready for Drivers Ed. But, this weekend, I dug it out for my grandson to use! Don't know if they are still offering the cup, but it might be worth looking into.

Today's issue of the Idaho Statesman has a peel-off coupon for $10 off a $20 purchase at Kohl's. Coupon is valid 3/24 thru 4/3. If you have a Kohl's card, you can use your 15-20-30% off coupon on the portion you are paying for, in addition to the $10 coupon, lowering your cost even more! 15-20-30% off event runs 3/24 thru 3/31. Get the most bang for your buck - use your Kohl's card!

I don't know if the Press Tribune got this coupon or not. I know you can go to the Statesman office (off Curtis) and buy papers there, if you can't find a newstand with the sticker coupons. Heard there was a gentleman last time who bought 50 papers!

I'm Back!

Actually, I've been back - but it's been really busy at work and I haven't had time to post. And, to be honest, most of the blogs were covering the stuff I found.

Mom is doing REALLY well. She's done with radiation and now just has 3 more weeks of chemo sessions - which translates into 9 more weeks before she's done, with the recovery weeks in between. The radiation burns on her gums are healing and she can finally eat again! (I bought KFC mashed potatoes and gravy for her every day I was there, just to get something in her). I'll probably go down in mid-April, but more for a visit than for a caregiver session.

So, thanks for all the prayers and healing thoughts. When I talked with her the other day, she actually sounded like her old self!!!!!!!!!

I received an email today from Pepperidge Farms with a link to a coupon for 40c Pepperidge Farms Whole Grain bread. The banner said very specifically in the email that the coupon was for subscribers only. When I clicked, it did take me to a place to enter my email. After I had printed the coupon(s) (its a bricks - so printed 2), their home page has links for:

$1 off Pepperidge Farms Naturals snack crackers
75c off Goldfish crackers (you may have printed this one already
55c off Pepperidge Farms Puff Pastry Turnovers (use at Fred Meyer this week!)
55c off any Pepperidge Farms bread

If you aren't registered, I'm pretty sure it was short and sweet. The 40c co isn't much, but possibly with a doubler.....?

Kohl's Cares For Kids Scholarships

Kohl's has an awesome program that puts money back into the community, called Kohl's Cares For Kids. The sale of the children's books ($5 each) and the matching stuffed animals (also $5 each) is what funds the program.

One of the things that is done is that Kids Who Care program, which recognizes and rewards young volunteers, ages 6-18. This year, they will be recognizing 2,100 kids (at least one from each store) and rewarding them with either $50 gift cards, or scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. Unfortunately for me, employees children are not eligible.

To fill out the nomination form go here. Once the nominator has registered, he/she will begin by filling out a form with the child's name, etc. Then there are essays about what volunteer work the child has completed. It's prety simple, really.

Next time you have a brain-freeze on what to fix for dinner, or see a fresh item at a good price that you would like to buy, try the Earthbound Farm Ingredient Archive. If you've never been to their website, it's pretty informative.

For example, this week Fred Meyer has asparagus on sale for a great price ($1.28/lb, I THINK). Click on the Ingredient Archive and up comes an alphabetical list of fruits and veggies. Click on asparagus and and there are links to 7 recipes that range from soup to main dish to veggie alone as well as a write-up about the vegetable. While this is an organic website, you don't have to buy organic to make the dishes (I won't anyway). I'm thinking about adding shrimp to the linguine with asparagus recipe to have an "all-in-one" meal tonight.

So, next time you're looking for a recipe, try this site. Recipes are from chef's, and if you like preparation videos, they have those too.

I got an email from Del Monte this morning, with some great coupons on their fruit products. For a $1/3 Fruit Naturals coupon, go here. For a $1/3 SuperFruit cups coupon, go here. For a $1 coupon on Orchard Select or SunFresh Refrigerated Glass jar, go here. And finally, for a $1 coupon on any one Fruit Bowl Cup, go here. These are all bricks coupons, so you can print them twice.

The Fruit Naturals frequently go on sale at Albertsons for $1, so with a doubler, you could possibly get them 3/$1. I'm not very familiar with the prices on the other products, so can't comment. If you see any of these for a great price, please let us know! It's always nice to have some fruit coupons to help the budget.
