I've found beach towels in the "dollar section" at Target for only $2.50 which I think is already a good price, but there's also a Target coupon out for $2.00 off of beach towels which would make them only $0.50 each! You should be able to print two copies of this coupon from each computer, so you could potentially get lots of cheap towels. This is a great price to stock up on towels to wash the car with if you don't want to use them for yourself.

Droid Update

I didn't actually jump on the Amazon deal on the Droid yet since when I went to check out, it was actually $75 when you extend your contract instead of getting a new one. Now I'm really glad I waited on it since there's now an even better deal on it from somewhere else. Walmart online is offering the Droid for only $19.99 with a new or renewed contract. Please note, this deal is available online only and is not valid in an actual Walmart store, but shipping is free for this phone. Barring some unforeseen circumstances, I'll be ordering this tomorrow although part of me is scared to with all these new and better deals every couple days. DVD Deal Update

So, yesterday I went to Toys R Us/Babies R Us to pick up some new outfits for my little guy since he's outgrown his newborn sized clothes now and we've discovered we don't have very many 0-3 month clothes for him, only a lot of 3-6 and 6-9 month ones. So, I decided to try out the deal to get Toy Story 1 & 2 as well as The Princess and the Frog, but I ran into a bit of trouble. Toys R Us told me that they had reached their limit of pre-orders on Toy Story 1 & 2, so I was unable to get in on the deal. I didn't even know they had a limit on pre-orders! Well I guess that's how deals go sometimes. At least I did get some good deals on some cute baby clothes.

Toy Story 1, 2 and The Princess and the Frog for as little as $5.97

For a little bit of work, 2 trips to Toys R Us, some coupons, and 2 rebates, you can score Toy Story 1, Toy Story 2, and The Princess and the Frog in blu-ray combo packs for only $5.97. So here's how it goes, head over to Toys R Us before Toy Story 1 & 2 get released on Tuesday to pre-order them. You'll have to pay $10 to pre-order them, but you'll get $15 off of the Princess and the Frog. That's selling for $26.99.

So, you're first transaction at Toys R Us will be:
pre-order Toy Story 1 & 2 in blu-ray combo packs for $10
buy The Princess and the Frog for $26.99
Then, they'll deduct $15 since you pre-ordered Toy Story 1 & 2

Droid on Amazon Now Even Cheaper

My previous post about the Motorola Droid is now dead and has been replaced with an even better deal! I went to go order it this morning and was pleasantly surprised to find that it is now only $24.99. So, I'll be getting this today before they raise the price on it. I'll end up snagging this phone for free with my swagbucks amazon gift card cashouts so it'll be an even slicker deal. I'll be posting about swagbucks in a later post. Droid on Amazon

Amazon has a great price for the Motorola Droid smartphone with a new 2 year contract or a 2 year extension. It is selling for $199.99 from Verizon's website so even if you get an extra $50 off from their new every 2 program, you still come out way ahead going with Amazon. You do need to have a data plan with unlimited internet though for $29.99 a month, but this is true whether you order from Amazon or Verizon. I had originally thought the slide out keyboard looked kind of flimsy, but everyone I've talked to that has one doesn't seem to think so. Overall, you can't really go wrong with only $50 for a new smartphone. So, I think I'll have to order it to check it out. Besides, I have lots of Amazon credit from swagbucks which I'll talk about in a later post.

It looks like I may have to make a trip to Target this week as well. There's a good deal of Kellogg's Cereal starting on Sunday. It will be on sale 4/$10. There are also two coupons available. One is for $1.50/2 from redplum.com and the other is a Target coupon found here for $1.50/3. You also get back a $5 gift card when you buy 4 selected Kellogg's cereals. So here's my deal scenario:

Buy:
4 Kellogg's cereal
Use:
2 $1.50/2 printable coupons from redplum.com
1 $1.50/3 printable Target coupon from here
Total:
$5.50 and get a $5 gift card back

However, since the Target coupon says manufacturer coupon on it instead of Target coupon, it may or may not go through since you can stack a Target coupon with a manufacturer coupon, but if it is in fact a manufacturer coupon, the cashier may not let you use it. It will have a Target logo on it though. So, it will either by $5.50 and a $5 gift card or $7 and a $5 gift card for 4 boxes of cereal. Either way, I think it's a great deal.

$5 Louboutins?!?!

I just read an article about an online auction site where a pair of Louboutins worth $682 sold for only $5.46 and a Marc Jacobs purse worth $456 sold for $12.36. I asked the same thing you probably are, what's the catch? The catch is that this website oohilove.com is a penny auction site. These seem to be cropping up everywhere. All the products that get sold on these sites start at very low prices, usually under $1. Users of these sites must purchase bid packs in order to bid on these items, this site seems to charge $0.99 a bid. Each time someone bids on an item, that item's auction time gets extended by 30 seconds and the price increases by $0.02. So, even if the item sells for say $5.46 like this pair of Louboutins did, it could have cost that user much more than that in the number of bids that user placed. There are also all the users that paid to place bids on that item and ended up with nothing because they decided it was no longer worth it to them to continue bidding. Although this article offers a few tips on how to increase your chances of winning, they seemed like common sense to me. In fact, they may become counterproductive if everyone uses the same logic to try to win. I think this is just a way for these companies to make people psychologically think they're getting a good deal when in reality there are actually probably very few people that actually do. The vast majority probably will spend a small fortune before ever winning anything. Too bad though because I could sure go for a pair of $5 Louboutins.
