			<p>The student will obtain the skill and knowledge to instruct other law enforcement officers in the use of electronic red dot sights as a primary sighting instrument for their duty handgun. Students will obtain the knowledge to instruct students with red dot sights in a Colorado POST academy as well as develop and implement a red dot sight transition program and an in-service training program for their agency. This course has been reviewed and approved by Colorado POST for certification to teach in Colorado POST Law Enforcement Training Academies as well as the use of POST training grant funds.</p>
<p>Students must be a current sworn law enforcement officer and have completed a POST approved handgun instructor course.</p>

<p>This class is free. To register, please scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the <strong><span style="color: #ff0000">CLICK HERE NEXT</span></strong> button. You will receive an email advising that your registration was received. A second email will be sent if your registration has been confirmed. If you do not receive these emails, please check your junk/spam folders. *Per our guidelines, if you are a peace officer from outside the GMTR / federal officer / military / civilian, your registration cannot be confirmed until 30 days before the start of class, provided that there is space available.</p>
<p><span style="color: #ff0000">Students must notify the sponsoring training region/provider at least 14 days prior to the training if they are not able to attend the training. If sufficient notification is not provided, your agency may be restricted from receiving future regional POST grant funding (class, scholarship, training equipment) for a period of up to six (6) months. Any penalties issued will be at the sole discretion of the training region boards.</span></p>

<p>The Adams County Sheriff’s Office will offer a Law Enforcement Driving Instructor Training Program designed to equip participants with the skills necessary to instruct law enforcement driving in both academy and in-service environments. Course topics include coaching methodologies, course design, legal liability, vehicle dynamics, remedial training techniques, and skills development. The program also provides participants with the opportunity to instruct novice drivers.</p>
<p>On the first day of training, students must successfully pass a POST-required pre-test consisting of four maneuvers: the turnabout and reverse serpentine, perception/reaction lane change, 180-degree diminishing curve, and high-speed lane change. Successful completion of the skills pre-test is required to continue in the course. On the final day, students must pass a timed, full-course practical examination.</p>
<p>Participants must be currently employed by a law enforcement agency and are required to provide a department-issued vehicle for training.</p>
<p>Morning and afternoon refreshments will be provided; however, students are responsible for their own lunches.</p>

			<p>The Carbine Instructor Certification course is designed to provide law enforcement firearms instructors the necessary skill and knowledge to develop and operate a law enforcement carbine program for their agency. Students will learn how to develop and maintain a carbine program, operate training ranges, diagnose shooting errors and then make sustainable corrections in other shooters.</p>
<p>The student will develop the ability to instruct:<br />
Legal and appropriate use of force decisions, Appropriate set up and accessories for the carbine, Weapons maintenance, Fundamentals of shooting, Proper zeroing, “Combat” shooting techniques, Use of various positions and cover, Efficient weapons manipulation, Malfunction clearances, Understanding wound ballistics, Tactics and techniques for fighting with the carbine, Extended range shooting, Low light / night techniques, and Use of various sights (iron sights, red dot, optical sights).</p>
<p>Students must be a current sworn Law Enforcement Officer and have completed both a basic handgun / firearms instructor certification and a carbine / patrol rifle operator certification.</p>
