My husband does not enjoy holiday parties but I adore them! Great excuse to buy lots of new dresses and what's not to love about sharing holiday cheer with your friends!? Okay, so maybe we could do without the random invitations from people we've met once, in an elevator, as the doors were closing but still, I love any excuse to dress up! This whimsical little black dress caught my eye today-- looks like a classic strapless number until you get to the hips, va va voom!!!

I am having a love/hate thing with these booties, love the gray suede with black leather contrast and how cool is the bad ass cross stitch detailing!?! What I do not love is the price. For python or ostrich leg, fine. For strips of leather and suede? No! But they're so gorgeous I can't stop looking at them. Have a million things in mind to wear them, too. I will watch these each day until they go on sale (everything goes on sale!) I see the workmanship that went into them and can only imagine how difficult and painful it was to handstitch them but still, I have my limit. What about you, what is your limit on shoes?
The bracelet comes in a wide variety of colors and looks great alone or stacked. Does the buckle remind anyone else of the one Marc Jacobs designed for a number of the LV bags and accessories these past few seasons? I have an LV agenda I got in the summer of 2007 that has a near-identical buckle! I bought this bracelet a few weeks ago in brown and have been wearing it with my Hermes leather bracelets -- great way to spice-up a simple jeans-and-a-tee outfit!

If you live in extreme weather or love to snow ski-- you should watch this video that Vogue.TV debuted-- it's a special episode of 60 Seconds to Chic, previewing three must-have winter trends :

Touches of Fur featuring Sorel's Joan of Arctic boot (I got these in black for Aspen!)

80's Redux featuring Sorel's Tivoli boot

Modern Workwear featuring Sorel's 1964 PAC™ PREMIUM boot

Bringing insight from the runways, this episode of 60 Seconds to Chic shows viewers how to make functional winter weather boots chic and the perfect accessory to any look. Hosted by Louise Roe, the Winter Trends episode of 60 Seconds to Chic previews fashion and accessories pulled from a chic mix of designers, all created around Sorel boots. The trends, identified as winter trends by Vogue show viewers how to create winter's essential looks: "a touch of fur," "the new workwear" and "80s redux." Each look is styled around a specific Sorel boot, deconstructed by Louise Roe and modeled on Alexandra Knight.

I have to say that while I admire her as a business woman, I'm not the biggest Tyra Banks fan. She's the queen of TMI and I almost always cringe when watching her on TV (even when she's acting! Did anyone else catch her awkward guest spot on Gossip Girl!?). I've never paid too much attention to her style-wise because she tends to either play it safe or go for over-the-top looks that veer on the ridiculous side. Above however she's pictured in Obakki's Fall 2009 Winter Coat with Drapped Collar in Ivory ($874.00, available at Stanley Korshak / 214-871-3600 / 800-972-5959), and Obakki's Funnel Neck Belted Pullover in Ivory ($414.00, available at P.45 / 773-862-4523), and she's totally rocking the looks! Well, almost. Someone needs to snatch that beret off her head...!

I actually wasn't familiar with this line prior to seeing these images, but I'm loving the easy drape and fit of the pieces. What do you think about Tyra's look?

These Miu Miu sandals are cagey, edgy and sexy. They're even ideal for winter if you live in warmer climates in the south or west coast. Wear it with a bare leg to show off the details or with black tights to stave off the chill-- tres versatile! And this is so obnoxious but at $750 they feel like a bargain compared to the $1550 pair of booties from Louboutin I was looking at the other day. Sigh, shoes are the new jewels I guess.

Eduardo Lucero (above) designed Kelly's rehearsal dinner dress 6 years
ago (Happy Anniversary Kelly and Rich!) and I've been dying to get
something custom made by him for years. After seeing his runway pieces
at LA Fashion Week (yes, there is one and Rodarte started there so keep
your grunts to yourself) I think I need the ready to wear, too. Am proud to see local LA designers with such a chic line-- I have seen Eduardo's work firsthand and he really knows how to enhance curves and hide flaws. His clothes are sold at his showroom by appointments only-- 7356 Beverly Boulevard, (323) 933-2778

Louver (Louis Verdad) (above and below) is another rock star on the LA fashion scene (favored by Madonna). I bought a few things from his website 3 years ago but they stopped selling clothes out of the blue. I guess it is really difficult for these smaller designers to stay afloat (even more reason to support the talented ones!). Verdad is spot on with his easy chic LA glam girl pieces, gold lame tank tops and one shoulder dresses will be equally effortless on Sunset strip or Rodeo Drive. Check his website for to buy info.
