In an interview with Piers Morgan which was broadcast on ITV1 on Saturday, Price revealed she suffered the miscarriage less than a month before the couple split up.

The glamour model-turned-author told how she lost the baby 10 weeks into her pregnancy but continued to run the London Marathon a week later because she did not want to let down sponsors.

Writing in his column in New! magazine, Andre said: "By revealing all about the baby we lost, Kate went against everything we said we'd never do.

"The miscarriage was a devastating time for us both, but I strongly believe it should have remained private.

"Unfortunately, what Kate says is out of my control.

"I can't control what other people do. I can only control what comes out of my mouth."

Andre said he had not intended to watch Price's first major interview since the separation as "I don't care what she says."

But he ended up seeing it with his mother and brother, Mike, as he wanted to know what she was going to say about their family.

Andre also vowed to remain celibate for a few months.

He said: "I'm determined to see it out. I think it's the most honourable thing to do while going through a break-up."

He denied rumours that Chantelle Houghton of Celebrity Big Brother fame was his new girlfriend, saying: "Absolutely not. I'm still hurting over what has happened in the last few months."

The loud-mouthed BBC Radio 1 breakfast DJ said that radio is "so dull, so boring and so formulaic" that anything different stands out and it is impossible to always keep everyone happy.

The BBC strengthened its compliance systems in the wake of the scandal sparked by Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand making prank calls to Andrew Sachs, which were broadcast on Brand's BBC Radio 2 show.

Moyles, aged 35, was asked by the Radio Times if he saw his role as a "Lord of Misrule" and answered "I wish."

He told the magazine: "The BBC is in a very weird state where they just don't want to upset anybody.

"Everything now needs to be signed, sealed and approved 18 times.

"We're not trying to change the world, but because radio is so dull, so boring and so formulaic, and anyone different - me or Jonathan - stands out.

"So the BBC is throwing down rules and regulations on you and then the newspapers are saying certain things and you're just trying to juggle everything while keeping everyone happy at the same time.

"And the reality is that you can't keep everyone happy all the time."

Both Moyles and Ross have come under fire for comments they have made while presenting their BBC radio shows.

In January, Moyles shared his views on appearing on the family history show Who Do You Think You Are? with his listeners, saying he did not visit Auschwitz, though "pretty much everyone" goes there, whether they are Jewish or not.

His comments provoked anger and Moyles was reportedly reprimanded.

"I'm genuinely quite surprised at the reaction to it," Moyles told the magazine.

"I think what happened is that there are some people whose view is that you can't say that word (Auschwitz) in any other context than what a horrible thing happened there.

"And it wasn't about anything that had happened at Auschwitz at all.

"If everybody who had done Who Do You Think You Are? turned out to be related to royalty, I'd have said: 'Hey! It turns out I'm not related to royalty!'

"If in every show, in every series, they drove a blue car, it would have been about that..."

Moyles insisted that "most intelligent people" will have interpreted his comments correctly.

"A lot of it is people - the haters - using it as an attack on me. There are many perceptions of me, most of them false or exaggerated...

"At the end of the day, I'm a guy on the radio, trying to make people smile on their way to work, or college or whatever. And I think I do it very well."

During filming for Who Do You Think You Are? Moyles visited a field of unmarked Irish graves, the resting place of 10 of his great-grandmother's 14 siblings, who died in infancy.

Moyles said he did not think the BBC1 show would alter perceptions of him as "that horrible man from the radio...

"The only other thing I'd say," Moyles told the magazine, "is that I cry at the end. I am human."

A BBC spokesman said: "Chris is never backwards in coming forwards but, while he is entitled to his opinion, we think that lively, distinctive and risk-taking radio is alive and well at the BBC, whether it be Matt Lucas's new comedy on Radio 2, Scott Mills launching a musical on Radio 1, Danny Baker stoking debate on Radio 5 Live or the Now Show consistently pushing the boundaries on Radio 4.

"We have a duty to ensure all our programmes are editorially compliant, but that doesn't mean our producers and presenters can't take creative risks if it means better programmes for listeners."

Backed by a troupe of nearly 1,000 lycra-clad dancers, the unlikely pair leapt and jigged around a New York yellow cab and American fire hydrants to the theme of the hit show.

Members of the public were invited to join the event, swelling the numbers of professional dancers packing Worship Street, near Liverpool Street station.

Comedian Vegas wore a neon green vest top and headband as he camped it up, slithering in the suds of the soapy bonnet of a car while Van Outen jumped from the door of a yellow cab to join the street party.

Vegas said: "I wouldn't call what I was doing dancing, it's a broad interpretation of rhythm. My style is a bit of pagan, a bit of spiritualism - I allowed the music to possess me.

"Fame isn't one of my favourite musicals because I'm envious that I can't dance. I see it as a weeper because it's what I could have been. It's not very glamorous when you're at college doing pottery, you don't randomly break into song."

But Vegas is certain his future lies on stage, he said: "Chicago's next. I think the West End will be beating my door down after seeing this so I'm going to take some time back, consider the roles on offer and possibly do a bit of work shopping with Richard Gere."

Van Outen said: "It's one of my favourite films, it's a real classic and because the 80s are having a comeback the outfits look great.

"I'm 35 and I can get the leg warmers out - I can still do it."

The stunt was organised by TV channel Turner Classic Movies as part of its 'Capture Your Classic' campaign, asking members of the public to re-make scenes from their favourite films.

The actress came top of the poll of 1,000 British women between the ages of 18 and 65, 70 per cent of whom said she had real substance.

Dame Judi was followed by Joanna Lumley and Julie Walters, with JK Rowling and round-the-world yachtswoman Ellen McArthur in joint fourth position.

The Queen came fifth in the survey, with half of those questioned believing that she is a "woman of substance."

The poll was conducted for the A Woman of Substance awards, set up by author Barbara Taylor Bradford to coincide with the 30th anniversary of her bestseller of the same name.

The awards are intended to recognise and honour the ordinary women in the UK who are "unsung heroines."

Ms Taylor Bradford said: "It's great to see these acclaimed actresses, sportswomen and the Queen being recognised as strong female role models.

"These women all have three things in common: strength, character and conviction, and they're great examples of women of substance.

"But substance isn't really about wealth, glamour or celebrity. There are still many unsung heroines waiting to be discovered. Today's woman of substance could be a dedicated wife or mother, or perhaps someone who has worked tirelessly to help others.

"As long as she is compassionate, ethical and hard-working and has accomplished something worthwhile, that is what it is all about."

Other female role models in the top 10 include comedian Dawn French, believed by 49% to be a woman of substance, followed by Lady Thatcher and Paula Radcliffe.

Those surveyed were also asked who they thought had least substance.

Socialite Paris Hilton topped that poll, with 70% believing she was not a woman of substance.

She was followed by Kerry Katona, Katie Price and Peaches Geldof.

Entries for A Woman of Substance Awards, which supports charity Target Ovarian Cancer, are being accepted until July 31. Details can be found at www.awosawards.co.uk.

He is one of a number of familiar faces who will be seen on television screens again as part of celebrations for its 10th series.

BB1's Bateman created headlines by writing notes which he showed to contestants to influence their voting.

He will take on his former nemesis - the assault course - and pit his fitness against a current housemate.

Also today, a group of three ex-housemates from BB3 will take part in an egg and spoon race.

A current housemate must predict the winner to succeed in this task.

BB4, BB5 and BB6 will be revisited tomorrow, while on Wednesday, Nikki Grahame and Brian Belo will each take part in a memorable task from their year.

Yesterday, housemates Sophie "Dogface" Reade and Siavash Sabbaghpour found out they will face the public vote for this Friday's eviction - because they swore.

The pair were ordered to stop using expletives for five-and-a-half hours as a punishment for discussing nominations.

They were told they would be immediately put up for the public vote if they uttered a single swear word before 3pm.

To illustrate exactly which terms they were to try to avoid, Big Brother unloaded a barrage of expletives to the stunned pair.

Kris Donnelly became the sixth person to be evicted from this year's series on Friday.

More than 3,000 people secured a ticket by putting in four hours of hard work at community-based projects in Manchester.

They took part in the music-led programme which addressed issues as diverse as social deprivation, urban regeneration and support for people affected by HIV.

Last month, Lady GaGa visited the Body Positive North West Centre in Whalley Range, Manchester - a meeting place for young people affected by HIV and AIDS - where she met volunteers and helped them paint a mural of herself.

The Orange RockCorps programme will continue with a series of four-hour projects in London followed by a gig for 5,000 volunteers at The Royal Albert Hall on September 25.

A similar project will take place the following month in Paris.

Last year, 5,000 people in the UK took part in Orange RockCorps.

John Barrowman as Torchwood's immortal leader Captain Jack Harkness has a talent for returning from the dead, but that doesn't stop his enemies from trying again... and again ...and again.

He was shot, blown-up, encased in concrete and attacked by an alien virus in BBC 1's Torchwood - Children Of Earth this week and still kept coming back for more.

Hey, it takes more than a pesky bomb and child-snatching aliens to keep a good Time Agent down.

The five night special steadily built up the tension of an alien menace threatening children everywhere.

It was a sinister storyline with just glimpses of the alien waiting to whisk the youngsters away.

It also meant tragedy for the Torchwood team. Captain Jack might be death-proof, but faithful Ianto finally met his end fighting by his side.

The both breathed the deadly alien virus and keeled over. Jack bounced back after his regenetive powers kicked in, but there was no coming back for Ianto.

Gripping stuff from the Doctor Who spin-off and just the thing before the summer repeats hit in.

FORMER Eastenders bad boy turned frontline docu drama action man, Ross Kemp, has signed a new deal to make 12 factual programmes for the Sky satellite network.

Kemp, who played hardman Grant Mitchell in the BBC1 soap, has found a new niche with real-life documentaries reporting on issues such as modern pirates, international street gangs and the ordinary soldier's experience of conflict in Afghanistan.

The 43-year-old won a Bafta for best factual series in 2007 for Ross Kemp on Gangs. He left Eastenders in 1999 but has made a number of sporadic appearances.

Talking about the contract Kemp said he would put his 'heart and soul' into the shows and 'tell the stories no one else is telling'.

Exact details of the shows have not been revealed. Kemp will make six hour-long shows each year for two years.
