The 24-year-old, right, known for his long dreadlocks and unique guitar-playing style, will be headlining on the final day of the event on Sunday July 5.

He last appeared in the free Coventry festival in 2007, the same year he released his number one debut album Hand Built by Robots.

People can go on the Styvechale Garden Trail from 11am to 6pm on Sunday, June 14.

There will also be plant stalls and cream teas. Entry is £3.

The open day is organised by the National Gardens Scheme, with money donated to Myton Hospice.

HUNDREDS of walkers put their best foot forward at the weekend to take part in the 14th Leofric Lions Coventry Walkathon.

Scores of people flocked to the War Memorial Park in Coventry on Sunday morning to complete as many laps of the 1.75 mile course, as possible, for a host of worthwhile causes, including the Lions' chosen charity Diabetes UK.

A GREEN oasis in the heart of Coventry is throwing open its doors to the public.

Visitors can take a peek behind the hedges of London Road Allotments tomorrow to wander 19 acres of gardens.

The allotments, made up of more than 130 gardens, are usually fenced off, accessible only to plot holders, but newcomers can explore or tuck into a barbecue.

SCORES of people are limbering up for Coventry's popular annual Walkathon which takes place on Sunday.

The event, in its 14th year, has raised more than £140,000 for 245 local charities and good causes, and organisers from the Leofric Lions are hoping this year's will be just as successful.

Among those gearing up to complete as many laps of the War Memorial Park as they can are six Coventry school friends and their teacher, raising money towards a trip to Sri Lanka.

Over a thousand young people aged 9 - 16 packed out Network Rail's No Messin' Live event at the Alan Higgs Centre in Coventry on the 17th of April.

The young people had a great time trying their hands at free activities like boxing, urban dance, and motor-biking and received important messages regarding track-safety.

It is at St Martin in the Field church hall, in Green Lane, Finham, at 10am.

This year's Willenhall Community Festival takes place on Saturday, July 11, on the Brookstray in Willenhall from 11am until 5pm.

Imagineer Productions will hold a camp to help youngsters prepare for the procession by making costumes and learning dances. Children under the age of eight must be accompanied by an adult.

Residents of Willenhall are hosting the event which is to take place on Saturday July 11 on the Brookstray, in Dogberry Close, from 11am-5pm.

Festival organiser, Sylvia Lanigan, of the Willenhall Community Forum, said: "This years event will be bigger and better than ever as residents are already organising lots of activities for the day, including a huge funfair".

Mass camps, run in partnership with Imagineer Productions, are open to all. Costumes will be made and dances learnt for the procession.

The celebrations include the renewing of scout promises by all members.

The sale on Sunday will be held between Brandon village and Binley Woods, next to Coventry Speedway.

Malcolm Smith has been organising fundraising car boot sales for three years, raising nearly £30,000, with the last sales over Easter weekend raising £700 for Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and more than £500 for lifeboat charity the RNLI.

Sunday's sale runs from 8.30am to 1pm with gates opening to sellers at 7am.

Admission is £5 for sellers, 50p for visitors, 30p for pensioners and children go free.
