The second annual Coventry Village Star Wars Day is happening Saturday, August 19th from 2 PM to Midnight in the Coventry Village neighborhood of Cleveland Heights. Most events are rain or shine.

2 PM – 6 PM: Mobile video game truck, featuring all Star Wars video games. All games are free to play.(Location: Across from the main parking garage on Coventry Road)

2:30 PM – 5 PM: Star Wars Selfie Station (Courtesy of Artful Cleveland) Location: Outside Avalon Exchange Cleveland (In the event of rain, will be moved to Piccadilly Artisan Yogurt)

3 PM – 5 PM:   Complimentary Star Wars Style Face Painting & Henna. Location: Outside Key Bank (In the event of rain, will be moved to Piccadilly Artisan Yogurt)

3 PM – 5 PM:   Dr.U.R Awesome Star Wars Day Bubble Party. Location: Pekar Park Courtyard at the corner of Euclid Heights Blvd & Coventry Road. (In the event of rain, join us inside Big Fun for a magic show)

3 PM – 4 PM:   Blast A Trooper. Location: Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Park Your chance to blast a trooper with a nerf gun. $1 to play with 100% donated to Make-A-Wish. (In the event of rain at 3 pm, this event will be canceled)

3 PM – 6 PM:   Photos with your favorite characters. Location: Characters roaming throughout Coventry Village.  Photos are free. Costume characters will be accepting donations for Make-A-Wish. (In the event of rain, characters will take pictures with fans at Piccadilly Artisan Yogurt until rain stops)

4 PM:   Star Wars Trivia –Location: Pekar Park Courtyard Test your knowledge for a chance to win Star Wars prizes & Coventry Village gift cards (In the event of rain, will be moved to B Side Lounge – all ages welcome.)

5 PM – 7 PM:   Presentation with special guest David Robman. Location: Ensemble Theater. David Robman, a former employee of Industrial, Light, and Magic, served as an assistant cameraman during the production of Star Wars. Working with such legendary names in special effects as John Dykstra, Dennis Muren, and Joe Johnston, Robman was instrumental in bringing to life some of the film’s more infamous sequences. Hosted by Star Wars uber-fan and collector Bobby Sharp. (Ensemble Theatre is located in the Coventry PEACE Campus. Former Coventry School Building)

5 PM – 7 PM:   Jedi Balloon Twisting Location: Outside Key Bank (In the event of rain, will be moved to Cleveland Candle Company)

6 PM – 8 PM: Star Wars Selfie Station  Location: Coventry P.E.A.C.E Park (Courtesy of Artful Cleveland)

8 PM:   Classical Revolution Cleveland Star Wars Tribute Concert. Location: Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Park.  Classical Revolution Cleveland performing original classical arrangements of Star Wars music and Star Wars inspired music.

9 PM:   Free Outdoor Movie: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Location: Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Park

The naked Donald Trump statue placed in Coventry Village as part of a national activist art piece is up for auction at Gray Auctioneers. The estimated price is $10,000 to $20,000.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit public art funding in the Coventry Village Special Improvement District (the neighborhood where the sculpture was placed on August 18, 2016 by American activist collective, INDECLINE), city-wide public art projects to be developed by community arts nonprofit Heights Arts, and artist Joshua “Ginger” Monroe, who created the pieces pro-bono.

Monroe is originally from Cleveland area but now resides in Las Vegas. In September, he traveled to Cleveland to liberate the statue from the Cleveland Heights Police Department, where it was taken after being picked up from outside Huntington Bank.

This the only statue recovered directly by the artist.

The auction catalogue is live now and the sculpture will be lot #1 in Gray’s October 26^th auction. Online bidding is available now. Live auction bidding will start at 11am EST on October 26, 2016.

A private preview will be offered to serious bidders. Gray’s Auctioneers will display a life sized photograph of the sculpture in their showroom throughout the preview period.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — The naked Donald Trump statue is now free from the Cleveland Heights police department, just under a month from when police seized it from Coventry Village as lost property.

Artist Joshua “Ginger” Monroe, a Garfield Heights native who created the statues for a national art installation by INDECLINE, flew in from Las Vegas to collect his work. The statue will be auctioned off to benefit public art in Coventry Village and throughout Cleveland Heights.

Monroe, with help from a small group of community members including representatives from Heights Arts and the Coventry Village Special Improvement District, went to CHPD on Friday, paid his impound fee and collected the statue from the department. No auction details have been finalized.
