I love this true red, bandage dress which is fitted but not very revealing. All bandage style dresses sculpt a very feminine, hourglass silhouette and will hold you in, in all of the right places. I like the fact that it's hemmed mid thigh length and it doesn't feature a plunging neckline (which really is a little too much with such a figure hugging dress).

This ensemble is so stylish and sophisticated. Slip into this silk organza shirt which is beautifully decorated with Kimono inspired, china blue, 3D embroidery. The nude heels definitely lengthen the leg; if you're a fan of the monochromatic look there are an array of blue suede ankle boots throughout many designer collections this season. Transition any outfit from daytime to evening wear effortlessly with this stylish single-button blazer in a tie and clear stripe print, from Betty Barclay's SS13 collection. This particular ensemble is from Elie Saab's SS13 'Heiress' Collection, which is full of glorious chiffon summer dresses and form fitting skirt and trouser suits. Nude is now and I absolutely adore it. This vanilla stretch crepe, long sleeve jacket has an open lace and grosgrain back and has been paired with stretch crepe, straight leg trousers. Lace back blazers are gorgeous, they reveal a little glimpse of skin without being too daring. The charcoal alligator satchel provides the perfect compliment to the overall outfit.

It is finally summer ladies and I am crazy for lace everything! It's uber-feminine, ultra-chic, classic and timeless (I will do a high street version of this post.) I'm going to share with you some of my favourite pieces which will hopefully give you some ideas, and I will link to them on my lyst page so you can see each item for yourself.

From the sweetheart neckline and rushed waistline, to the tonal underlay and exposure around the neck and hem, this piece is simply divine. It's perfect for those of you who want to appear sophisticated without looking old for your years. Not only do I love his work but Marilyn Monroe was a huge fan, so much so that she was laid to rest in one of his dresses.

Whilst we'd normally associate scarves with the wintertime, there is nothing more beautiful and elegant than a lightweight cotton or silk scarf blowing in the wind, especially during the warmer months. This particular scarf is made from turquoise cotton and features a sheer lace design.

I myself am a huge fan of Burberry and no not just because it's British... although I probably am a little biased. There are no words for how much I adore this trench coat, which in many regards references the 'traditional' Burberry trench. The tapering waist which can be further cinched by a belt (as pictured above) is incredibly flattering to the figure, and as for the colour palette, anyone with olive or warm undertones would look impeccable wearing this.

I'm tired of seeing people in huge clunky platformed wedges, or spiked heels which are frankly quite cheap looking regardless of the designer. If your taste in fashion is more adult and you prefer stylish sexy as opposed to common 'chic' then these are definitely a must have item.

This is such a beautiful addition to any outfit, and it's really rather small. The tote comes with a detachable shoulder strap and gold chain embellished with small beads and pearls... as I'm someone that thinks less truly is more I would rather it didn't have that chain but it's so beautiful that it's worth simply removing if it doesn't fit your personal taste. The interior of the bag is leopard print and I'm so glad it's concealed on the inside which I rather like, but again those who know me are aware that I give leopard print and animal prints in general, a very wide birth.

I have a dress which is quite similar to this but without the ruffle detailing, which I feel adds a playful accent. Its silk composition obviously feels very soft to the touch and of course allows for very fluid movement. The actual dress is inset with panelled lace detailing and features fabric ties at the neck. Its plunging neckline is covered by a fine layer of chiffon which I really love, as there's nothing worse than someone bearing too much flesh. Another plus would be the cap sleeves that give the arms and shoulders a little coverage which I think is nice, especially since the upper arms can be an area many feel insecure about. More than anything I love the cut of the dress which accentuates and enhances an hourglass silhouette - for those who aren't an hourglass try adding a very thin, wine red belt to create a waistline.

If you don't adore these heels you're simply beyond help, every woman should own a pair just like this. Manolo offers these in a selection of colours (I believe) and whilst I like the black ones, I'm in love with these. Again they'd be wonderful on those with olive skin tones for two reasons: firstly the colour is very complementary, secondly they would make the legs appear much longer on someone with warm undertones. These beauties are handmade in Italy as expected, they have a 4" in heel and are crafted from metallic leather. Ideally you could wear these with any outfit and add a fine gold chain to tie the ensemble together.

The final piece in my selection would have to be this rose coloured, semi sheer shawl from none other than Valentino. I love these for this time of year since I love layering outfits and this is as with the scarf, very lightweight. You could obviously wear this as you would a pashmina, and I think my favourite styles would be either draped over the shoulders or around the arms.

Painless Waxing & Epilation

We all want silky smooth legs and it's no secret that waxing and epilating are two of the best methods for achieving a flawless, long lasting result. A few months ago I reviewed the epilator I've been using for a while and rated the overall pain around a 4 or 5/10 depending on the area. Whilst I find I can lessen the pain on the underarms for instance, you may still find that you bleed slightly.

Caffeine Kick

This makes a difference for me so I would recommend beginning by refraining from drinking anything containing caffeine for 30mins-1hour before you wax. Caffeine actually makes your body acidic and therefore increases skin sensitivity.

Effortless Exfoliation

Begin by bathing/showering and simply massage an exfoliant of your choice over the area you're going to wax to slough off dead skin cells and help reduce the chance of ingrown hairs. This also reduces the chance of wax sticking to the skin, rather than the hair itself. If you're waxing your brows for instance, then don't use any kind of astringent or toner as that tightens the pores.

Cool it down or Heat it back up

The most obvious thing would be to use ice to mildly numb the area. You obviously don't want to hold the ice on for too long otherwise you will find that it is painful. Bear in mind that numbing it with ice will close the pores but I definitely recommend this for the underarms. Your other option is of course to use numbing cream but always do a patch test first. The other option which I always do purely out of habit, is to epilate/wax as soon as I've taken a bath/shower. After a warm bath your pores are open which allows for the hair to be removed much easier = little/no pain. It's also good to use warm wax and try not to opt for the strips you can buy in stores, they simply don't deliver.

Snow White

Baby powder can be a great for those with sensitive or irritable skin when waxing but of course it's pointless when it comes to epilation. Apply a thin dusting over the legs for instance and this stops the wax from adhering to the skin - it's similar to the exfoliation but one step further. Always be sure to apply the wax in the direction of the hair growth, and remove the wax strip in the opposite direction.

Grapes vs Painkillers

One final thing you could try if you have a very low pain threshold but you're determined that waxing/exfoliating is for you, is to try grape seed oil. Whilst a lot of people choose to take paracetamol/asprin/ibruprofen before hand I highly doubt anyone needs to go to that extent. Grape seed oil is a natural anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial, so it basically does the same job as your medicine whilst also leaving the skin soft and moisturised. If you've never used it, heard of it or considered trying it then I urge you to, it's even something actress Emma Stone swears by!

Hello ladies, I'm going to try and get back into 'blogging' by not blogging at all basically... doing more audio posts which aren't really podcasts since they're so short.. and also doing some reviews... today I'm going to talk about the Emjoi Micro-Pedi of course.. this was purchased and not sent to me and I think it's basically amazing! I've had this since Christmas and as you can see from the pic it hadn't been used. Last weekend I spent at a spa but I obviously can't do that religiously so I do mani-pedi's at home generally..2-3 times per week! Just a little background info before I get into this.. I'm not a pro, I'm not a specialist and whilst I don't like feet I do think we should all take care of them... they're not exactly attractive so everyone needs to put in the extra effort!

This has to be one of the most simple things to use... The bottom twists off and you need 2AA batteries, as you can see from the first picture it has two different types of micro-mineral rollers the red one isn't as coarse as the blue. Other than that it's fairly self explanatory, I actually lost the instructions but you don't need them at all!

This is what it looks like close up and it basically rotates ...you don't feel anything other than perhaps mild ticklishness (is that a word?!) from time to time... The little 'button' on the side clicks up to unlock it so that you can switch between the blue and red if needs be. I used both but I'd say use the blue as it cuts down on time and you only really need to do this once per week. If you're going to do this more often as Summer is around the corner and you want to wear sandals etc then use the red once every other day, or every two days.

Rating

Price: £39.99 (Boots) - well worth the money, if you're someone that likes to take care of themselves without breaking the bank then this is perfect!

Design: 5* - I love that it has a safety lock and it's easy to clean (comes with a brush ...which I lost).

Ease of Use: 5* - There's nothing difficult about this and nothing you have to work out for yourself.

Pain: 5* - Completely pain free!

Results: It claims to give salon results and literally does that within 5 mins! I do go for pedicures so my feet aren't cracked etc but it's great for keeping them soft, 'beautiful' and beach ready!

It's no surprise that gold was AW2013's most popular metal, its versatility revealed throughout a myriad of silhouettes and finishes, oozing luxury and sophistication. Dolce & Gabanna's micro mosaic-set (pictured above) featured gold filigree jewels, oversized crucifix earrings, fairtytale princess crowns and rosary-esque pendants - paying homage to Italian tradition in the most exquisite way. Crosses, clusters of flowera, crosses and round medallion shapes are key motifs.

Asymetics is seen throughout many garments across the collections of multiple designers. However it isn't a trend reserved purely for attire but also accessories, namely earrings. Elongated necklaces that sit on the diaphragm are also making a comeback, having been popular with high street retailers some years ago.

Vivienne Westwood's retro-flavoured choker showed how muted shades strung together can be used as an effective colour vehicle. House of Holland's kitsch crystal jewellery mixed and matched complimentary colours with a distinctive 80s vibe whilst Oscar de l'Renta's carved stones made a statement in saturated tones of cobalt blue, turquoise and acid green. Strong futuristic references merged with crisp outlines and signature shapes underpinned a trend that favoured high shine metallics and minimal surfaces. Alexis Mabille's rings - curvaceous domed gob stoppers paired with slab-like counterparts - were a sleek exercise in minimal stacking.

Moschino's clashed aesthetic - Rococo alphabet hoops, military-flavoured brooches and gold-trimmed tartan bangles - fed into this fascination with a subversive subculture where anarchy ruled.Lanvin festooned necks with layer upon layer of curb chain necklaces, adding pearl trimmed pendants bearing slogans such as 'Hot' and 'Love', as well as giant name necklaces bearing the scrolling Lanvin signature.Versace's bugle beaded body jewellery and chokers, rings and cuffs adorned with improbably large spikes riffed on the agro punk aesthetic, giving it fashion friendly spin, of course. Curb chains, pearls, name necklaces, spikes and scrolls should be considered as design elements and used in way that spells attitude with a capital.

Ideas informed by a desire for protection continue to inspire, and little wonder given the global unrest that remains part of our lives. This somewhat hard-edged approach to adornment manifested in neck-embracing collars, ear cuffs, segmented finger rings and stacked wrist wear. Jean Paul Gaultier's mixed metal cuffs - some embellished with corset-style lacing - were stacked together to create a protective carapace over models' arms. Christopher Kane's striking metallic chokers - which echoed the ripple detail on his clothes - fanned elegantly across breastbones, whilst Maxime Simoen's knuckle cuffs, fashioned from articulated metal segments, were strapped at the wrist and fingers. Fully encasing his models' ears, Dries Van Noten's crystal encrusted earpieces were a striking update on the ear cuff, a jewellery piece that has been the sleeper hit of the last couple of seasons.

I'm absolutely loving Valentino's new collection, entitled 'Pop Pois'. The polka dots are so feminine and playful - perfect for Summer! However the unshapely cut of their day dress and tops simply doesn't appeal to me. Nonetheless I could see these making great presents although if you're shopping on a budget you may not be willing to fork out £1,125.00 for the shoulder bag (pictured above), or £280.00 for their espadrilles. To be fair I've never been fond of said choice of footwear, often likening them to a pair of in house slippers; these silk espadrilles however, feature a rope insole and would make quite a cute addition to any summer wardrobe - particularly for those under 18!

From May 1st two new creations in pink gold and cornelian will complete the Sweet Alhambra line. Playfully feminine, it will be enriched by heart-shaped and Alhambra ear studs.

Renowned for its deep, rich hue, cornelian was one of the first stones to be used in jewellery. Not only was it greatly prized by the Ancient Romans for intaglios, the Egyptians believed it symbolised life.

The material first appeared in the Alhambra collection in 1968, on a long necklace with alternate yellow gold and cornelian motifs. Its distinctive orangey-red tones now embellish the Sweet Alhambra, Magic Alhambra and Lucky Alhambra lines.

Mainly from Brazil, the stones used in the Maison's creations display an intense lustre, which is enhanced by careful polishing. The motifs are then carefully matched to ensure that all jewels share a consistent shade.

Theron looked effortlessly chic on Saturday whilst attending the GLAAD Media awards, which were hosted at the JW Marriott Los Angeles. For those who don't already know GLAAD celebrates outstanding depictions of the LGBT community within the creative arts - be in film and tv, or journalism and advertising. The 37year old starlet sported a short, edgy hairstyle complimented by nude makeup and a red lip - which in many ways reminds me of P!nk. The jumpsuit is by none other than Jason Wu, and has been teamed up with yellow-gold bracelets and diamond studs from Van Cleef & Arpels. The ensemble is notably different to her usual ultra-feminine, sleek and sexy style.

These Rose de Noel earclips seem to have caught the eye of Drew Barrimore (pictured below), who's always had an overtly girly sense of style. Whilst I like the design and do believe pearls and diamonds to be timeless, I'm not too keen on the yellow gold accent. Either way, Van Cleef & Arpels boast a large celebrity following, from the likes of Kelly Brook and Julianne Moore, to Cate Blanchett.

I think the earrings would have worked had she not worn such dowdy attire. I would've liked to see her hair pinned up, or pushed back and paired with a simple dress - making the 'earclips' more of a statement rather than an unnecessary add on.

Is PSY Gentleman, ahead of the trend?

If you know anything about KPop and Korean fashion sense in general, then you'll have already realised that their sense of style is substantially different to our own. Whilst western men continue to 'play it safe', many young Koreans (and also Japanese) are much more daring, and perhaps more feminine when it comes to their attire.

From the houndstooth check seen on the Dior runway, to the 1980's power shoulders, PSY would definitely be 'on trend'... if we were already in fall that is. Other outfits worn throughout the video feature asymmetric jackets with popped collars, zip detailing, and classic leather biker jackets - all en vogue this autumn.

Does the above image look somehow familiar? It's taken from Balenciaga's F/W13 RTW Collection, and is not dissimilar to the outfits worn by PSY's backing dancers in the above video. This strictly B&W contrast where the white is always worn 'on top', will be seen from department stores to high street retailers next season... which makes me wonder, are the Koreans always 1 step ahead?

Selena Gomez looked especially beautiful on the red carpet at Sunday's highly anticipated, MTV Movies Awards. Although she was wearing a gorgeous Julien Macdonald metallic minidress, it was the bold hairstyle she sported which has been a key talking point this week. Here are some tips from hair extension specialists at www.pauls-hair-world.co.uk to find out how to recreate Selenas look and get red carpet ready in 6 simple steps!

Step 1
If you’re lucky enough to have very long hair, this style will be pretty easy to complete. If not, Pauls Hair World recommends using clip in hair extensions to get the necessary length to complete the French braid, also adding thickness to the style.

Step 2:
Backcomb the hair on the crown of the head to create a small bouffant, and pin into place. We suggest using a backcombing brush available for only £2.99 to quickly get height and body instantly.

Step 3:

Smooth the hair and create 6 small pony tails down the centre of your head.

Step 4:

We suggest you ask a friend to help you with this step. Carefully create a french braid using all of the pony tails.

Step 5:

To get Selena's tousled look, gently pull the braid apart slightly, and pin to the smooth area of your hair to ensure the ponytails are completely covered. Use the back comb brush to carefully backcomb the French braid to add to the messy look.

Step 6:
You're ready for the red carpet! Spray with extra hold hair spray to keep down any flyaway hairs and keep your Selena pony looking great all evening.

#1 What's your beauty routine?

I gently exfoliate my face each morning before using my rose water toner. Then I use Simple Rich Replenishing moisturiser & I'll apply Dior Skin Nude foundation (click here for a review) & Mac Studio Sculpt concealer. I'll usually do a nude lip (click here to see my post on nude lips for tanned skin) then I use Pink Swoon sheertone blush by Mac. Finally I'll define my brows before lining my eyes & applying half lashes.

#2 What do you love the most?

Traveling, because traveling is experiencing. I was fortunate enough to travel often as I was growing up & I learnt a lot things about myself & about various cultures. I think it's important not to confuse traveling with just going to a different country because if you're going abroad to a resort, without mixing with local people & really experiencing the culture... then you're not traveling.

#3 You can't cope without...

Cleanliness in general, I think personal hygiene is very important.

#4 What would your perfect night be?

I like spontaneity so I suppose finding out I was going abroad within like an hour, that would be pretty exciting.

#5 1 staple in your kit?

I do think everyone looks better with foundation, but that sort of goes without saying though ...so it'd be black eyeliner - probably gel based.

#6 How would you define beauty?

Beauty encompasses many things but I think the most beautiful thing is having a kind & empathetic heart. I also think being able to live without harboring hate or feelings of jealousy is beautiful, & necessary for a happy life.

#7 Your beauty & fashion icon is?

First & foremost would be Angelina Jolie because she has such a strong personality, she's gorgeous & really does a lot for charity. I also like Keira Knightley, Amuro Namie (Japanese Singer) & Park Si Yeon (Korean Actress).

#8 What don't you mind spending money on?

Foundation and concealer, because your base makeup really does matter the most. I have a few different foundations & concealers, but I spend more on products for my skin to help keep it smooth & prevent aging so don't get me wrong I believe in prevention before cure!

Yes this is another repost, it has been I suppose a year since I posted these & they're very popular so sorry if you're not interested, come back on Monday for new posts!

Skin bleaches claim to permanently change not only the colour of your nipples, but lips & also groin area if it's also deeply pigmented...

The claim is that it restores a pink colour to your lips, but not everyone does have naturally pink lips so can this really be safe?

< it comes out in a white colour, but even stains the finger pink

Though there's a lot of different products, this one (in the shape of a lipgloss applicator) is one of the best sellers on the market. It's made by a company called 'Bioglo' & is supposedly made from all natural ingredients.

The biggest claim is it can noticeably lighten areas in just 3days from a brownish tint to a baby pink tone but why? what's the real reason behind this 'trend'?

In Japan especially, many men desire women with pinker/lighter nipples as there's a stigma that brownish or deeper pigmented ones are only found on more promiscuous, older women.. How can that be true?? Well apparently women (usually of caucasian decent) can experience a change in their natural colour post/during pregnancy, going through menstruation & in a series of other circumstances.

In the USA alone many skin lightening products have been found to contain high levels of mercury & other toxins. If something claims to be all natural, then I suggest looking up the ingredients, sourcing them and finding a DIY way to achieve the desired result (perhaps a lip tint?), after all you don't want to be lightening your nipples only to develop breast cancer 2 or 3yrs later!

If you've been following my blog for a while, you'll already know I did a post back in January about 'Nipple Bleaching' so you can check that out by clicking here ! If you've already read that & you want to know what perfect nipples are and how you can get them.. keep on reading..

In September this yr as you may or not know, depending on how much random beauty 'news' you read, that the contestants of a Chinese beauty pageant were disqualified if they were found to have 'imperfect nipples'.. The Chinese define perfect nipples as being 'no more than 20cm' apart, which meant some of the women went as far as surgery purely for the chance to win £1000.

Whilst we're all insecure at some point in our lives, I didn't realise it had got the point where it was no longer about having big boobs, or a toned body... instead it was about having 'perfect measurements' right down to the last millimeter. For those of you who are of a more 'sound mind' lets take a look at the ways we can 'improve' our 'breast area' in a non surgical way.

Wish upon a Pill

There are non surgical but not always natural so make sure you read the list of ingredients and just Google anything you're uncertain about. As I've never tried any personally I'm not going to recommend any but if you're interested try to find ones which are based mainly from herbal ingredients! I know a lot of people think 'herbal' is rubbish, but don't forget that all medicines are based on plants and herbs. Pills tend to promise enlargement, and firmness (which I'll discuss in the next point) I'd say they probably do work to an extent but if you're looking to go from an A to a DD cup then, forget it.

Lovely Jubblies

Firmness is a common issue for women especially as you age and lose elastin, but even if you're in your early 20's, depending on the size you might notice they're not as firm as they either used to be, or you'd like them to be.There are many companies which offer breast creams some for enlargement similar to the pills, but I would recommend Lush purely because they're all natural and everything you apply to your body will be absorbed so think carefully about that

Strengthen & Tone

The first and most obvious thing you can do are simple 10 minute exercises every day that will give you a noticeable 'lift' and firmness and I'd say it's especially good for anyone in their late 20's upwards - there are plenty of these on youtube & you really needn't buy anything at all.

#1 I have 2 dogs - 1 is a 4month old puppy & the other is 5yrs old

#2 I was born & raised in England but half of my family are European, I say that because there's a mixture of British & Mediterranean bloodlines, the other half of my family are East Asian.

#3 In my teenage years I pretty much obsessed over piercings and I had around 13 or 14.

#4 I'm 21 & I'll be 22 in summer this year.

#5 I rarely drink alcohol & I'm allergic to white wine.

#6 I don't like people smoking around me & I get very pissed off. If you want Cancer or Emphysema that's fine, but do not bring your ~~filth~~ near me.

#7 I'm creative. I studied performing arts, trained in classical ballet & other forms of dance from 4yrs old & started learning to play the piano & clarinet around 5 or 6.

#8 I feel like I can't breathe if I go even 1 day without listening to music. I love all kinds of music from opera & jazz, to rock & heavy metal.

#9 I'm quite a healthy person. I only eat fresh foods, I play a lot of sports & I have a lot of gym equipment in my house because I don't really care to work out in a room full of sweaty people

#10 Growing up my family always traveled for business trips & I spent a good portion of each year in Scotland, which is now like my second home - I plan to live there someday.

#11 I absolutely love animals & I watch a lot of programs on Lions & Tigers because eventually I'm going to go abroad to work with Tiger cubs.

How to choose the perfect founation & concealer

Choosing the right concealer and foundation can often be a rather tricky and inevitably time consuming affair, but luckily it no longer need be! This is not advice on how to match your skin tone to the product but how to decide which product is best and whether said product is worth the money, in an instant!

You can use this same method for foundations and concealers because so many people including myself have been recommended certain products, but with many to choose from how do you know which is right? We're all looking for a different level of coverage which I think is the most important thing once you know that you have matched your colour ccorrectly. The way I do it is to draw a few black lines on the inside of my wrist, or on my hand and I'll apply concealer or foundation over the top of them, to compare. Obviously you don't need to draw the line as thick as is pictured above but this is just an example.

You can also do the same thing with purple if you're testing different under eye concealers, and this here is my Mac Studio Sculpt. If you have a lot of redness which I get especially on my nose when it's cold (which is most of the time in England) then you can think about that. If you're prone to acne then I'd suggest using red also. I know that in the USA you can't always test products, but I don't know whether that applies to high end/department stores also. Either way I would suggest investing more in your base make up.

Autumn & Winter Beauty Trends

For all you fashion fanatics it might be slightly sad to wish goodbye to New York, London, Milan and now of course Paris fashion week. Moscow and other fashion weeks will of course continue but for me this is goodbye until... well until September of course and if you haven't been keeping up to date and you'd like to know just what all the fuss is about then you can click here to find out. If you do love fashion just as much if not more than beauty then be sure to check out the related links at the end of each post. I love London and Paris fashion week they were incredible (not to say that the others weren't) but we got some really interesting and quite 'season-appropriate' trends when it came to skin, brows and of course the lips.

As would be expected shimmer, glitter and all things shiny have been replaced by well contoured cheekbones and completely mattified skin. Full and well defined brows will become the focal point whilst the eyes which are left neutral and shaddowless above the lid, have a slight shading below the eye, creating the illusion of longer lashes.

Many of the designer's opted for pale skin adding the most minute hint of pigment to the cheeks. More importantly dark smokey eyes are back with a vengeance - this time a hint of cool toned brown shadow has been blended below the eyes to give a slight gradient effect. If you're going for this look remember to keep your shadows completely matte.

I love this look. The gorgeous porcelain skin creates a stark contrast against the thick khol liner applies only beneath the eyes - emphasised by the lack on contouring and faintness of the brows. Regardless of skin tone this is a look anyone can pull off but I would never suggest applying foundation or concealer to the lips especially around Winter when your lips are already prone to chapping. Instead opt for a pale lip liner (lip liners from Max Factor are usually quite moisturising) and remember to keep your favorite chap stick to hand. Dabbing chapstick over lipsticks, lipstains, or lipliner will moisturise the lips without smudging or smearing the colour.

This is a look taken from Dior's A/W Pret a porter collection. The show itself was amazing and the makeup was very fitting for a 'wintery chills' aesthetic. With metallic winged liner, lightly contoured cheeks and deep ombre lips it's a very memorable look. Make this more wearable by pairing ombre lips with nude eyes, or metallic liner with a monotone lip.

This is by far my favorite look! I like how the eyes are slightly defined by a thin black line which is obviously day time appropriate, and there is so much attention paid to the lips it's an art form in itself. A deep and plummy lip liner has been teamed up with a slightly lighter lipstick of the same variation, and to create the effect of fuller lips a white powder has been lightly dusted over the center of the lower lip. If you're going for this lip be sure to use a lot of chapstick before hand and if needs be a lip scrub. You can create your own by combining honey with sugar. The skin is of course flawless and without contouring or shading so this is the right time to either make sure your skin is on its best behaviour, or opt for quite a heavy duty concealer. Dior do some great under eye concealers, whilst for the face I like to use Mac Studio Sculpt.

Beautifully Brash - Oscars Fashion

Many people seem unable to fathom why Olivia Munn was present at last nights prestigious Vanity Fair event. Personally I haven't given it much thought, but I am loving her choice of dress. The star looked striking in this red & gold evening gown, designed by Marchesa. The form fitting, figure accentuating dress was one of my favorite picks for the Oscars. The colour palette and design also bear elements of the Orient, perhaps a simple yet elegant 'nod' to her heritage?

Anne Hathaway may have been acknowledged for an Oscar worthy performance, but the tucks which create a conical shape around the bosom are rather unflattering. That said I am loving her choice of accessories, the fairly natural makeup and cropped hair.

Samantha Barks looked beautiful whilst proving the little black dress is still a winner. The 22 year old opted to wear none other than Valentino, and pulled it off incredibly well. Although there was a danger of being slightly too revealing, she has a modest but enviable cleavage; which ensured the actress did not slip into Pamela Anderson territory.

Jennifer Lawrence seemed under the impression that it was her own wedding last night, arriving in a Dior bridal-esque gown. Not only did she fall, but she made sure she was in full view of the Paparazzi for this less than flattering shot. Clearly a woman of grace and refinement. The dress appears passable from this image which lets face it had to be chosen, but from other angles seemed to almost over accentuate her 'curves', resulting in a somewhat oddly misshapen silhouette.

Some things look better from behind, and this is one of them. Whilst I must admit Stacy Keibler was one of the better dressed, and I do rather like the dress; it is the black band around the middriff which I found slightly off putting. The back, and side profiles were absolutely stunning, and they should be considering this is a Naeem Khan creation; yet front on the stars physique seemed to look slightly widened, rather than cinched.

I'm quite a fan of Amanda Seyfried but I was slightly unsure about this Alexander McQueen gown, upon first glance. She does look rather elegant however and I'm loving the keyhole cutout. What I would have preferred makeup wise, is a more fresh-faced look and less of a smokey eye with this particular ensemble.

Since I'm no longer 15 years old, I haven't watched any films from the Twilight franchise, I have only seen Kirstin in couple of movies. I do think she is a very talented actress, I believe the first time I watched her on screen was when Panic Room was released. Last night I thought she looked truly Oscar worthy, although sadly she did appear on crutches. This breathtaking gown is of course a creation of Reem Acra. The strapless couture dress in a shade of pale blush, featured hand beaded detailing, and ultra feminine pleated tulle inserts.

With so much to talk about I thought I'd end here with of course the lovely Catherine Zeta-Jones, who chose to wear a gown by Zuhair Murad. There's such a mixed response over this gown, some saying she's far too gilded, others that it's elegant and classic and I personally don't dislike it. I could see why it wouldn't be to everyone's liking but she didn't over accessorise, and it was nicely form fitting. I think perhaps less of the gold leaf look on the skirt would have been slightly more appealing.

Hello beautifuls. Today's Friday feature will be aimed at the younger readers of mine; since this brand is targeted more at the 'teen' and 'young teen' age range. I will be writing about fashion regularly but moreso within magazines, and on other sources, which I'll talk about in more detail soon. All the usual SM links will be at the end of this post so let's get into it.

Hi Steven, what inspired the name 'Flurageous' it appears to be a mixture of flirty and courageous?

It’s an interesting combination isn’t it? I was looking to create a word with meaning that would be unique. It actually came from a brain storming session I had for another project - sometimes the best ideas come to you when you think about other things! You aren’t far off with the suggestions but it started with a play on the word 'Fleur', which is French for flower. I began mixing it with stronger words, one of which was 'outrageous' to get a powerful but flirty sound. As with most names it became shorted to a mix of each to create the word 'Flurageous'.

Who's the founder of the brand?

It was actually just me. Once I came up with the name there was an idea of what it should represent, but it took a while longer to develop the theme. As the word was created from scratch I also had to define it’s meaning. So I started to define it as a dictionary term:'Flurageous' (flur’ageous) adj. - defined by an expressive attitude and/or behaviour; the desire to be unique. that may be a little bizarre to some but that helped me creatively decide how the style of Flurageous should be perceived & generally what direction it should start to flow. Then developed further to “are you Flurageous enough?” which you can see features now across some products.

What age range is the brand targeted at, it seems very teen appropriate? Also how regularly do you change your products?

Well observed! It is directed more towards the teen or student crowd. I think the style of the designs reflect the expression & personality of these ages very well. Everyone likes to show their personality through the style they choose to wear. The range is onto it’s 2^nd design run. We are currently working on a new range of slogan t-shirts for this year. Flurageous will evolve as a range listening to what our customers have liked or want to see. I would say it’s a 2 time a year cycle, we will be due to show off some new ideas in the up coming months. We try to accent our clothing by choosing bags, jewellery & accessories that fit in well with the Flurageous style.

Are there any people within the media who sport Flurageous fashion?

I know the custom is generally to try and push a brand by finding a celebrity. It isn’t something we have actively set out to do yet. We think it’s more important in the short term to listen to the fans of the brand and create something that they enjoy first. Flurageous is still evolving as a design & I think that it’s something that will pick it’s wearer rather than being pushed by someone. It would be more exciting for us to work with a celebrity to get their Flurageous style & add a design to our range. Bring their personality into the creation & show off. It will be something we look into moving forward & then people who like the brand can enjoy that too. But if anyone is wearing Flurageous, celebrity or not, we would love to see!

Where do you see the brand 5 years from now?

Overall I think we would like to see it recognised as a style rather than just a name. I hope that we will be firmly established online with a good fan base. I would also like to see it branch a little further than just fashion clothing.Wearing Flurageous will be a show of personality rather than replicating a look. So hopefully in 5 years time we will see people walking down the street wearing their own Flurageous style. That would be pretty cool.

Finally, there are so many upcoming brands people might consider to be similar such as Doll London, and well established ones like Boo Hoo. What sets Flurageous apart from these brands?

We set out to make Flurageous more than just a name, but with that requires style & character. That’s why we say “be more than just a brand”. It’s easy to make comparisons but every designer is just trying to create a unique take on fashion from their own ideas. Things they would like to see but aren’t being done elsewhere. Flurageous just gives people the chance to choose something different that’s also fun. It’s easy to go to some brands now, spend money, then walk away with very little. I think people like brand recognition but also like it at a good price. That‘s where you will see the difference, Flurageous has it’s own personality & character with a reasonable price. We’ve had some great feedback.

Turning foundation into concealer

Hello beautifuls. I want to show you how to use your foundation as a concealer, as I personally don't like my face either looking or feeling 'cakey'. By now I'm sure absolutely everyone knows which foundation I use, I know I talk about it a lot but it is wonderful. For the 1% of people who don't know it's the DiorSkin Nude in #031. Since it's 40% water it's extremely light weight; it gives the apperance of second skin and provides light-medium coverage. I wouldn't recommend using this for the under eyes - simply because it won't really counteract the darkness most people have in that area.

Both these swatches are DiorSkin Nude. The one on the left is how it swatches straight out of the pump, it's obviously not very thick - although I wouldn't describe this foundation as watery or runny. The right swatch is your 'foundation as concealer' which provides much thicker coverage. I use it like that mostly on my chin (where I have some hyperpigmentation) and nose (because of redness).

These are the same swatches which have been slightly blended out. The difference in coverage is quite obvious. What I will say is if you apply 1 layer of the foundation and then a 2nd you still won't get that same thickness you'd have to apply around 3-4 coats, which is quite wasteful. My concealer is Mac Studio Sculpt, which can become powdery sometimes, it's fairly heavy and if I use it on my cheeks or nose it creates a lot of dryness.

Let me just say I know my hands appear to be a different colour to the foundation, and I think they probably are. That's why you should never match your foundation to anything other than your face and neck. Basically what you're going to do is transfer some foundation into a plastic container. Don't use a ziplock, I think it needs to allow some air the pass through for the foundation to thicken. I know oxidizing foundations often alters the colour, so I'm not sure whether this is another effect of that (if you know, tweet me)! It takes around 24 hours to thicken to the same consistency as above, if I leave it for around 48 hours it's notably much thicker again. I'm no showing you how I store mine because it just looks messy! I'm currently using the container to decant my previous bottle of foundation. Hello beautifuls. It is of course time for my Friday Feature, and this is one is special for me. If you followed my MUA features last year (linked at the bottom) you might remember the one I did with the lovely Cathryn Kerwin. I actually met her during a beauty 'event' which was held at Chiq Studios - I also blogged about that. From starting out my blog this wonderful lady has been really supportive, she is genuinely an amazing person and I'm really glad I got to her know her a little bit. So that said, I'll have all the usual social media links at the end along with her personal twitter, so definitely check those out!

For those who don't know what's your background in beauty?

My background in beauty is that I'm awfully qualified makeup artist. My work has been published and I've done many amazing shoots and worked on many bridal party and special occasions. I'm so passionate about makeup and have a great reputation in the North West and North Wales.

What made you decide to launch your own pamper business?

As my reputation is growing and the bridal bookings where increasing rapidly I saw a gap in the hen parties and I do enjoy doing some of the more night time style of makeup and with gaining that bridal business I decided to move into pamper parties aimed at that.

At fabulous pampers what do you specialise in, and do you offer bespoke packages?

I will be offering bespoke packages and prices according to the needs I'm not just qualified in makeup I can also do some beauty treatments like lashes, brows and facials but my aim is to gear it to makeup. The types of events it could be are: hen parties, girls night out, little ladies pamper parties, race day makeup, makeup lessons and much more. One area I'm exploring with a Liverpool photographer is teen makeup and photoshoot parties where I do the makeup and they go away with one free photo taken by my photographer.

Which are the most popular packages you offer, and how much are they?

Most popular up to now has been the makeup lessons. It's surprising how many ladies don't wear makeup because they don't know how to apply or what to do with items they buying the makeup bag. So I go through the bag throw away tatty makeup, give a list of essentials for the bag and then show them a daytime look moving it up to a night time look. It's £50 and they get a free lipstick and a guide on what they have learnt to put into practice.

Currently you work within the Liverpool/Chester area, do you see that expanding? Also where do you see the business 5 years from now?

Absolutely I target these areas because they are major cities. I've already got a team of makeup artists locally to service clients if I'm booked up. My aim would be to act more like an agency with a pool of vetted MUA's and hairdressers. In 5 years I see it covering a larger area and for it to be a huge success.

Finally, what can we expect to see in your online shop?

On the online shop I think you'll start to see glitters for eye makeup, pigments and bespoke kitsch fun makeup. I'm in the process of sourcing products at present but with me getting married this year I might put the shop on a slower process till my wedding is over.
