<itunes:summary>It's become one of the defining debates of our time: can science and religion coexist? Or are they incompatible, destined to continue to drift apart and see each other as rivals?

In this episode of Cracking the Echo Chamber, our guest, Kathryn Robison (a Ph.D. student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Political Science at The University of Alabama), makes the case that the two needn't live in their own echo chambers. Rather, they can coexist in a meaningful way, both informing the other.

But of course, it's far more complicated than all that. As the hour progresses, we discuss the difficulties in reaching such a harmony, and how to overcome them.

You can find out more about Kathryn on her website: http://www.kathrynrobison.com/

And on her podcast, "Talking Space": https://www.talkingspaceonline.com/</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>At the height of the protests against Trump after he took office, a controversy erupted: could someone be a feminist as well as a Zionist? More to the point, was it even possible for people who disagreed on fundamental issues to work together?

The focus of this debate became a public debate that occurred between Linda Sarsour, one of the founders of the Women's March, and Emily Shire, a journalist at Bustle who wrote an op-ed for the New York Times about the topic.

In this episode of "Cracking the Echo Chamber" we talk with Emily Shire to get her view on the debate, what needs to change in the discussion around identity, and where we can all go from here to heal and unite.</itunes:summary>
