Saturday's Workshop!!!

Last Saturday we had our workshop “Glitter Window” here and had a wonderful time!! I just thought I’d share one of the gorgeous cards we made!! The colours were Choc Chip, Pink Pirouette and Pumpkin Pie and I used "Always" stamp set (this is one of my favourites, thank goodness it's still in the new Catalogue!!). This is such an easy technique I learnt from Sue Madex, check out her blog here.

Hudson.........a special little boy!!!

I have been a bit quiet on my blog in the month of July as I have been working on pattern packs for a wonderful project for a little boy called "Hudson", the son of one of our fellow Stampin' Up consultants. The great thing about Stampin' Up! is that it isn't just a business, it is friendships, support and inspiration!!

Hudson is 2 1/2, while Tina was pregnant her doctor discovered that Hudson’s brain wasn't developing properly and that he was going to be born with severe disabilities. Tina and her husband decided they would do everything in their power to give this little boy the best life that they could, and that is what they have been doing for the past two and a half years! After Hudson was born he was found to be legally blind. More recently he has been diagnosed with Epilespy and Cerebal Palsy.

Now the time has come for Tina and her family to make some HUGE sacrifices to keep up their promise to give Hudson the best life they can. Hudson needs a special wheelchair called a KidWalk. This special chair will give Hudson the mobility that he needs to get moving, play with his brother and sister and interact with other children his age. (At present Hudson can not walk). Unfortunetly these chairs don't come cheap,($5000.00) which makes obtaining one for Hudson even harder!

I was very touched to be asked to help out by designing some tutorials. It took all of 2 seconds to decide, if it was my child in that situation I would be so thankful that there were people out there willing to give up their time to support my family!!

Well the time has come to say goodbye to the 2009/10 Stampin' Up! Catalogue and this is your chance to pick up some great bargains!!! There is up to 50% of some items. I have attached the PDF from the company with a list of all the items on sale and they will be updating it here. Some items are going for good, The punches are getting re-modelled to match the new style ones in the Autumn Mini. Cardstock will be having a slight price increase so if there is a favourite colour I suggest stocking up to save a bit of money. Stampin' Up is also re-vamping the cardstock bundles now so the 12x12" Cardstock pack in one single colour will be 1/2 flat card 1/2 textured card (hooray!! the textured card is gorgeous!!).

Finally the new catalogue is coming on 1st of September so to celebrate I am having a Catalogue Launch in my studio on Thursday 2nd of September (was going to be Friday 3rd) and will be FREE!! Happy Birthday Hubby!!

Henry and I sat down and made this gorgeous card for his dad's birthday last week with our gorgeous little rabbit "Alvin" on it. Sadly Alvin passed away last night so we've had lots of tears today as we burried him. He was the most adoreable little thing and we are very heartbroken.....

I must appologise for being a little on the quiet side for the month of July....Lots of things have been happening! I have returned to school after 20 years, a bit of a culture shock, but I thought it's 'now or never' so I am studying Interior Decorating and absolutely loving it!!!

I have also been working on a fantastic project for a little boy called Hudson designing some projects which are being sold as kits so I will do another post tonight with all that info in. It is for a really great cause and there are HEAPS of give aways from Stampin' Up, so make sure you check it out!!

School Holiday Fun!!

Over the School Holidays I took the kids to my wonderful girlfiends for lunch and she gave my daughter and I a basic cake decorating class. It was so much fun, not to mention the yummiest Mud Cake!! So I thought I'd share it, this is the one my daughter made, she was so excited.

Simple Baby Card

This one is such a little cuttie!! I just love this stamp set, it is just so lovely for little ones. This card was a request for a customer who wanted a baby card for a girl, but not too much pink???? So I had a bit of a brainstorm and came up with this!

Materials:

Stamp Set - Nursery Necessities.

Card - So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Whisper White.

Ink - Pink Pirouette, Bashful Blue.

Accessories - Crimper, Snail, Pink Pirouette Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

Colour Renovation

I'm sorry that I'm a bit slow to get this onto my blog, but better late than never!! I was a bit sad to hear that some of the Stampin' Up! colours were going, as like you probably are I am quite attached to some of them............but then I saw the new ones!!!!! OOOHHH I can't wait for the new catalogue so I can get my hands on them!! And I was quite excited to see that some of the lovely 'In Colours' from last year are coming back, so I can bring them back from my "discontinued stash".

There are still going to be 4 colour collections, but re-named; Brights, Neutrals, Regals and Subtles, each with 10 colours. Ten colours are returning and there are 5 brand new ones. Kraft is getting re-named 'Crumb Cake'.

With our new Catalogue in September 2010 there will be 5 new 'In Colours' and these will stay for 2 years now instead of 1 and then in September 2011 with the next Catalogue there will be another 5 colours so there will be 10 'In Colours'.

Now to the colours we will be saying 'Farewell' to, and do keep in mind that they are starting to sell out in Australia already and once they are out of stock that is it. So I suggest that if you have a favourite you get it ASAP!! I have stocked up on Cardstock, Inkpads & Re-inkers so that should last me quite awhile!!

**Retiring stamp sets!

Welcome everyone!!! A new month, another wonderful special from Stampin' Up! These stamp sets are fantastic value and a great way to add to your collection. Two-step stamping is so effective and so much fun! Heritage Scrapbooking.............

I have been very lucky to have been given so many beautiful family photos which I am trying to preserve for my children and the future. This is a gorgeous treasure of my mother as a child when she was living in Edinburgh, I was so luck that my grandfather was a photographer!! I wanted to keep this page simple as I think the beauty of this photograph speaks for itself.

I have absolutely loved all these stamps out of the new Autumn Mini since I saw them so I had to give them a go on a Scrapbooking Page. I have used Kraft Cardstock, mounted the photo on Choc Chip, then used the 1" Stitched Choc Chip ribbon, with some Rich Razzleberry Ribbon. I have stamped the 'Medallion' stamp in Rich Razzleberry (one of my favourite colours - it will be staying in the new Catalogue!!) and a couple of flowers from the 'Vintage Vogue' set and cut them out and put a couple together with a 'Filigree' designer brad with a clear Rhinestone and attached them with dimensionals. I have also run across the bottom of the page with the 'Very Vintage' roller in Choc Chip, stamped the floral border in the 'Vintage Vogue' set in Choc Chip and put that on the ribbon and thats it!! Too easy!!

This is such a wonderful way to turn the treasures tucked away in a box into a lovely book for generations to come to flick through and remember special people who are no longer with them!!!!!
