This week we discuss the Summer Tour (of course), but more specifically why I want to go on this trip and what I hope to accomplish with it. I also talk about why I find crafters so fascinating as a topic of research and how the crafting community comes together to support each other in times of crisis, both large and small.

As always I want to thank our generous sponsors, who you can visit to learn more about them via the links in the sidebar. We’re getting really close to having this Tour be a reality so keep up the word of mouth and the energy! Hopefully I’ll see some of you soon!

In entirely unrelated news to the Craft Culture Summer Tour that has completely eated my brains lately, I just heard from Sue at the Critter Ranch about our Momma Llama Eboney! Eboney still has not given birth yet but the vet will be out later this week to check on her and the wee bebeh llama to make sure all is well. Eboney did get her hair cut this week so I’ll be drawing a winner for her fleece shortly from the people who donated towards adopting her.

A word about the fleece; Sue asked me to remind people that the fleece is raw. It’s not been processed at all. It has been cleaned and cleared (mostly, as much as possible) of veggie matter but it will still need to be processed before it’s able to be spun. So, if you donated to the Eboney Adoption Fund but do not want to be entered to win the fleece please let me know so I can only draw from the names that would like to win.

In news related to the Tour:
There will be giveaways! Prizes! Awesomeness! for donating. So for every $10 you donate you will be entered to win prizes. There are a lot of them. If you are interested in donating some prizes as well please get in touch with me at sponsors@craftculturecollective.com. Those of you who have already donated (THANK YOU) are already in the pot.

Thus far fund raising is going pretty well for only a day or two into it. The sooner we reach the goal though the sooner I can focus on what wonderful events we’ll be having in each city, digging up famous knitters to speak with and other fun and fabulousness to bring you guys from the road.

If you are a fellow podcaster (of any kind, knitting or otherwise) and would like to help spread the word, attached to this post is a short (26 seconds) promo I recorded that you are free to steal to add to your podcasts at will. If you are a blogger of any kind and want to help with the word of mouth campaign you can blog about this project at will as well. If you’d like to interview me either for a blog post or podcast episode please let me know, I’d love to come tell you all about what I’m doing!

<itunes:summary>In entirely unrelated news to the Craft Culture Summer Tour that has completely eated my brains lately, I just heard from Sue at the Critter Ranch about our Momma Llama Eboney! Eboney still has not given birth yet but the vet will be out later this week to check on her and the wee bebeh llama to make sure all is well. Eboney did get her hair cut this week so I'll be drawing a winner for her fleece shortly from the people who donated towards adopting her.

A word about the fleece; Sue asked me to remind people that the fleece is raw. It's not been processed at all. It has been cleaned and cleared (mostly, as much as possible) of veggie matter but it will still need to be processed before it's able to be spun.

The sooner we reach the goal though the sooner I can focus on what wonderful events we'll be having in each city, digging up famous knitters to speak with and other fun and fabulousness to bring you guys from the road.

If you'd like to interview me either for a blog post or podcast episode please let me know, I'd love to come tell you all about what I'm doing!
