I've spent a fair share of my last few weeks exploring this awesome mod for Minecraft. Needless to say It is very addicting. What you are looking at in the above picture, is a automated mining rig that automatically mines a decently sized hole in the ground, all the way from the surface to bedrock, and place the blocks in chests, using a mildly complex system of motors and piping.

So the 1.8 update came out a few days ago. im still finding new things about it to report on. Directly below hy house about 20 blocks deep is an Abandoned mineshaft.

Abandoned mine shafts are a series of straight intersecting tunnels 3 blocks wide. They have uneven ceilings with a height of 2-3 blocks. Wooden planks and fences make up the supports of these tunnels. Incomplete sections of minecart tracks can be found at the floor of these shafts and torches are occasionally placed on walls. Cobwebs can be found at random. Cave Spider spawners surrounded with cobweb can be found. [1] Occasionally, stair-like tunnels can be found.
Cave Spiders are exclusive to these areas. There are chests spread throughout the mine that contain things such as Gold and Iron ingots, ores, food or seeds. They can even contain Diamonds or pickaxes and may sometimes spawn in air as a world generation glitch. It is possible but rare to have it spawn in an ocean so the shaft is flooded. Abandoned Mine Shafts are also rich with ores such as Iron, Gold, and rarely Lapis Lazuli and/or Diamonds. As the 'shafts' are made of Wooden Planks, Abandoned Mine Shafts actually in turn provide very good source of wood while prospecting underground." -- Minecraft Wiki

They're a fun addition to the game for a few reasons. I hate mining at random for ores. when i come across an abandoned mineshaft, im sure to come back with enough ores to justify the trip many times over. No more scouring the globe just to find enough iron to make a pickaxe. Be warned though, mineshafts are very easy to get turned around in. i had to tower block hop my way back to the surface a few minutes ago. I have yet to come across a stronghold or a village, though i am trying.

This, is what happens when a worldedit glitch goes terribly terribly bad.
I couldn't undo the initial damage, so i added glow stone just to see what i had to work with. Its only 5 blocks under the surface, near the ocean. i actually had to put the bottom of the map back on, because worldedit tore straight through the bedrock. >.< This map would be a cool survival team game. Anyone interested?
My next revsion of this trap will have an obsidian frame, but for the sake of design prototyping, i just used cobblestone. When you step on the pressure plate, this happens: The TNT attached to a sticky piston extends, bumping a redstone torch on the opposite side of the wall. combined with a iron door and a one way pressure plate, this trap could do some damage. :)

Thanks. :)

Finite Liquid is a Modification for Minecraft single player, that adds several things to game play.

The Creator, IGN djoslin said this:

"The water physics in Minecraft have always bugged me. But I understand why it was put in place the way it is. But I've developed an alternative, more realistic, water physics system for Minecraft. Now with FiniteLiquid v2 installed, all of the water created by the map generator will be replaced. Oceans have an 'infinite' amount of water, this is necessary for your computer to run it. Any water disconnected from the ocean and low in mass will be finite and react to changes in volume. If you break a border wall in between the lake and a cave, the lake will flood downward and drain out. I've also developed pipes and pumps to interact with the liquid further. You can place pipes that will suck up liquid when the pump is activated; with a right click or redstone input. Iron blocks can now be heated up, which will evaporate water above it. You can obtain the old minecraft water by mixing three redstone and 1 gold in a block of water. Old minecraft lava is mixed with three redstone and 1 diamond in heated water. This is only the second version, I have many ideas I plan to add to the mod so stay tuned. "

This. Mod. Is. AWESOME. Ive spent 60 + hours testing it myself.

I First downloaded it a few weeks ago, installing first the two required mods before Finite water could be installed. a great addition to FiniteWater, is Single Player Commands with World Edit. if you dont have it, I recommend getting it.

Finite Water adds several ways to interact with the world around you. Water in lakes and smaller bodies of water can be drained away and or stored using pipes and pumps for transportation over great distances, to make water gathering easy for farming or other purposes.

I expected a lot of lag from my computer, (Dual 3.6 GHz processors with 2 GB ram and Nvidia 8600 GT Graphics Card) But the Mod preforms flawlessly, with very little lag.

If you love Minecraft, Download this mod. if you don't, Download it anyway. Maybe it'll change your perspective about the game as a whole.
I guess ill start with the about me.

My Name is Theron, but i usually go by my CyberHandle, Trip, or TripH. I Hail from the land of Michigan, near Detroit. I'm a self proclaimed nerd, not that nobody else thinks so either.. ((>.>)) I live with my Dad, Who works for general Motors. I Have an older brother who is enlisted in the US Army, Stationed in Washington DC, on the United States Army Drill team, Winners of the Joint service Drill Award 2010. (not bragging. Oh wait, yeah i am. :) ) I have a diverse mix of political views, a knack for tripping over flat surfaces, and spilling Pepsi all over my best friends house. (PEPSI IS LIQUID LIFE IN A BOTTLE)

In my spare time, i play Minecraft, Minecraft....and... Minecraft. In my non spare time I'm Usually playing Minecraft too. When I'm not doing that, I'm probably either hunting, fishing, shooting archery, (2004 Michigan J.O.A.D State Champ in the Houseee) Shooting guns at the Local Gun club, or disassembling computers for parts sales. I also helped found Integrative computers, a Computer repair/sale/resale gig that was ran out of my friends bedroom. Ive traveled across the continent on several hunting trips, my farthest being to Kodiak Island, Alaska in '07. Now that thats out of the way, lets get on to why you're probably here.

I first started playing Minecraft in late September/early October. How i heard about it, was though my stumble button. An image came up, with text on it. It told the story of a player that encountered a Human NPC with Hollow eye sockets. I was hooked. i procured a copy of the game, and proceeded to go into complete seclusion, with just me and and endless supply of Pepsi, and Minecraft. I was wrapped up in its simplicity, yet its robustness. I felt like every time i started a new map, i was washing up on the shore of my own subconscious. (Inception anyone? :D) Needless to say i told everyone that would listen about the awesomeness that was Minecraft.

I was hooked. When Christmas started coming around, i asked for it for Christmas, stressing the end of Alpha, and the discount, and the free updates. (13 USD total? Great deal) I saw a lot of potential in the game, being an avid RPG gamer. but unlike all the games that I've played, I felt that this game deserved my attention. and so on 12/22, Minecraft was delivered into my possession, legitimately.

Several Milliseconds later, I had a server! I found out real quick who i could trust and who i couldn't.

IGN: Toys, was the first person to come into my server, with his brother, IGN Knife_out coming in soon after. Not only are they trustworthy, they have helped me work out the kinks in the server, helped me learn the finer points of WorldEdit, (after one 968 thousand block hole that destroyed alot of good work. My b, yo.) and Hey0.

There is still a lot of work to do to build what i hope is a successful clan, and it started with this here blog.

If any of you are of my server, and wish to showcase your creations, email them to
