How To Make Light Up Fireflies

This is soooo pretty and such a wonderful craft project to make with the children! They'll be so delighted! What first caught my eye is the purple and orange color which is Solavei's colors. I thought to myself, yes, Solavei does light up the darkness. These little critter's are magical and very easy to make too :)))

Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries

These are so pretty and a great way to protect your cell phone. What I like about this pattern is you can also easily adjust to fit your iPad or a tablet.

Nowdays cell phones are used for just about everything. Gone are the days of just voice, now we use our cell phones for social media, shopping, paying bills, taking photos, the list goes on and on. But for all the performance there is a price and so that cell phone should be protected. I think this is a pretty way to protect your cell phone. I think I might wanna make this for my youngest daughter who adores baking! It's an oven mitt and tucked inside is cookie mix with a cookie cutter and ribbon topping off this cute gift. If you sew you can make your own oven mitt :) This would also make a good stocking stuffer.

Christmas Craft: Scrap Felt Wreath Ornament

This is so neat! She was making felt ornaments and since she had so many felt scraps she decided to cut them into little squares and sew them up to make a wreath Christmas tree ornament.

An idea for a gift topper, you could take a ribbon and write someone's name on it then glue it in the middle of the wreath.

Burlap Rag Ball Christmas Ornament

I just discovered rag ball ornaments. Here is a photo of a burlap rag ball Christmas ornament. I love the way it's topped with cotton lace but I think I'm gonna use plaid ribbon in deep dark greens, reds, and blues to top of my burlap rag balls.

My sister gave me a whole box of burlap bags. This is just one of the many ways I want to use up all that burlap :)

It's very easy to do, you just buy the foam balls in the size you want or you can buy a bag of the plastic balls that go in a child's jumping toy, cut strips of cloth and glue it around the ball, then glue the topping, your ribbon and string to hang the ornament.

Primitive Country Craft: Mason Jar Light With Fixins

So inviting and warm is this homemade light made with a mason jar. Way to recycle your old mason jars. It's filled with scented fixings, I would probably use the applesauce cinnamon fixings that my children and I make every year and also whole cinnamon sticks and cloves. The rosehips gives it a nice contrast and I'd probably also like to add some green for Christmas or orange for Halloween.

I would want to make some holes in the cover to let the scent of the fixins fill the room :)

Caramel Bacon Buns Recipe From Amy of Oh, Bite It!

Bridesmaid Gift Idea: Manicure In A Jar

Mother's Day Gift Craft Idea: Lemon Thyme Salt Scrub Free Tutorial

I Love making and receiving gifts made with Love from home. When I saw this I immediately thought of a basket with these homemade bath salts, a homemade soy candle in a homemade candle holder, a hand decorated towel set, what else can you think of?

DIY Necklace Display For Craft Fairs

Here is a very simple and inexpensive way to make a necklace display stand for craft fairs. It's also a recycle craft. I like everything about it and tomorrow I plan to make my own. My daughter bought her son one of those chairs where he can turn and there's all kinds of fun stuff he can play with and she saved the box it came in for me for just this reason. I'm going to make a bunch of these up for our displays.

Not exactly like this though. Like many crafters I 'll tweak it to fit my needs but I'll follow her basic steps.

What I want to do is make the display longer than my necklaces. I'll cut cardboard out to the size of my necklaces, cover it with, probably, burlap because my sister gave me a box full of burlap bags. Then I'll take thumb tacks and glue shells on the tip. I'll pin the tacks in the cardboard. There'll be no backing because I'm just going to stand it against a shelf that we'll make out of buckets and plywood.

I'm finally going to do it! This way instead of our necklaces lying down on the table I can have them displayed standing :) It'll be more eye catching too!

Another reason I'm not putting a stand on the back is because I'd like to cover the necklaces with a cloth that helps keep the silver from tarnishing and store them stacked in a container. What we do now is we put each necklace in a slot in a plastic container. Very time consuming!!!

My family and I make seaglass, shell, and faux seaglass jewelry. We're always looking for fun and unique ways to display our jewelry. If we can recycle items all the better.

Here's a neat way to make a display for rings. What's neat about it? You can recycle a pretty box and/or clothes too! You can make this ring display large to small depending on the size box you have.

Halloween Craft: Rag Wreath Free Tutorial

I never tire of finding new and interesting crafts on the internet. I just finished doing housework and this is such a nice way to relax with a cup of hot tea just perusing the internet for some fun crafts to share with everyone.

Here's a fun one! A rag wreath. She went out and bought some Halloween material but if you have some old black, orange, bright green, purple, material lying around you could also use that interspersed with some bought Halloween material. I Love the EEK she added too!

That's the whole thing about crafting. Even she got the idea for a Rag Wreath from another site but tweaked it to her own style. That's what crafters do :) We're awesome like that!

Collecting Driftwood For Crafting on Maui

After seeing all those wonderful driftwood crafts my family and I decided to collect driftwood after church. Before going my children indulged themselves in a good ole fashioned breakfast of corn beef hash patties, over easy eggs and rice :) Have to start'em off with a good breakfast so they can get some good driftwood :)

First we went to Kahului Harbor to look for seaglass since it was low tide but there was none.

So we decided to go to our original destination to collect driftwood, Paukukalo, a popular surf spot for the locals. When we got there sure enough there were surfers and bodyboarders on left and right. My son was somewhat dismayed because he didn't bother to bring his bodyboard :/

But happily for me there was a lot of driftwood for the collecting. I didn't know where to start collecting so I started taking pictures instead :) This is only the beginning of a long stretch of driftwood.

Ok here we go! My children collecting their driftwood and whatever else they could find that was interesting. Brand new golf balls! I plan to bag them up and give them away at the Swap Meet :)

My son was playing Tahitian drum beats with the driftwood he was finding. Very innovative!

Oh oh! The driftwood further down caught on fire! Someone must have thrown a still lit cigarette onto the driftwood!

At first there was only a local surfer trying to put it out by shoveling dirt onto the fire. He must've called 911 because next I see fire trucks and policemen. This is at the mouth of the river that runs through Wailuku. Now it is low and everything is dry.

We're turning back. There are no shells and we can't collect driftwood here. You can see my son walking back and the fireman putting the fire out before it spreads all the way down.

My baby girl walking back. I didn't get a picture but she managed to find a small area of the water close to the shore that's blocked off with rocks so the waves don't come in. She was just laying in that little pool which was the size of her stretched out body. It was a super hot and muggy day :/

I continued to collect driftwood this time having more of an eye for shapes and what I could make with it.

Next thing I have to do is boil all my driftwood, lay it out to dry, and then decide on what I want to make first :) I got some really nice pieces not too big that I thought would be good for air plants.

After this we went to go and visit my grandson's who live not so far from the beach we went too. My oldest grandson, the Double Shaka King, has been sick with a cough so I wanted to check and see how he's doing. On the way there my son decided to play photographer :)

The mountains are really scenic and beautiful and my son was trying to capture that. It's hard thought while driving because the lines are in the way.

That was our Sunday in a nutshell. I ended up taking my Double Shaka King home with me but while we were there visiting he was playing with chalk. Here's one of his masterpieces.
