While this might seem like a reason to craft more, it actually removed my downline. Basically, work was the place I brought all the cards I made to sell for charity. I have never been a ‘tons of friends’ kind of gal, so I have maybe 10 people I personally give cards to. I couldn’t see a reason to keep making cards to just save forever in my house, so.... and I say this with my head hanging low..... I just bought cards for my friends and family instead.</p><p>Fast forward to ” Covid World”, and like many people, I found myself running out of things to binge watch, rewatch, etc. etc. I mean, there is a limit to the number of times I can see the same episodes of even my favorite shows without it getting stale. Anyway, once I had exhausted all my options on cable and streaming services, I found myself watching youtube videos to pass the time. I eventually came across a card making video showing how to use layering stamps on dark cardstock. It was the video linked below, by Jennifer McGuire Ink that rekindled my own love of cardmaking.</p><p><a href="https://youtube.com/embed/76i92WpvB8Q?autoplay=1" target="_blank">Jennifer McGuire Ink - Stamp Layering on Dark Cardstock</a><br /></p><p>Several Jennifer McGuire videos later I was compelled to pull out my supplies and get inky. Now my dining room is almost officially my craft room (since we won’t be entertaining anytime soon anyway). I even organized my existing stash and got an (admittedly) excessive number of new goodies to try out.</p><p>Here is the first card I attempted, using stamps from the <a href="https://altenew.com/products/playful-blooms-stamp-die-bundle" target="_blank">Altenew - Playful Blooms</a> set. I wasn’t so brave and didn’t use proper dark cardstock, but it wasn’t white! That was brave for me.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqgguB3Zwzsd9-kBQkaVNXbRNkF1AGhAERCBr8_Ts0I1qBlTIKWzNU4HXbfSFKjYLpwKExsM9_MGus_w-0aYk2tak1rVKN96nJVunHEMNDVqJN6hJlqHupqi1v12KCl8unkQYoBlsUG6c/s2048/1D470D8C-4FE2-4F91-BF91-08850FE0DA03.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1968" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqgguB3Zwzsd9-kBQkaVNXbRNkF1AGhAERCBr8_Ts0I1qBlTIKWzNU4HXbfSFKjYLpwKExsM9_MGus_w-0aYk2tak1rVKN96nJVunHEMNDVqJN6hJlqHupqi1v12KCl8unkQYoBlsUG6c/s320/1D470D8C-4FE2-4F91-BF91-08850FE0DA03.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>Then, with Father’s Day approaching, I made this one. Again, I got the idea of the 2nd and 3rd generation stamping of the leaves from another of the Jennifer McGuire Ink youtube videos. I wish I had had the forethought to keep track of all the videos I watched, and which ones taught me what technique, but I didn’t, so I apologize for that.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgol-qmKyVPK1-t2afI7ADfXqqp12TKTSUYpKSPPA5gu1M405w-BiYbBPfQXA__9vflyOWQ7PYxzl2FHLQTib6T5iqAkZPiUPuv0qcWs0R1Wr7rBpnb6Pg7XBOq_tbcntTWA235BJtNwkE/s2048/45ECFF3B-BF7C-490D-8EF8-54BC0A0249B4.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1925" data-original-width="2048" height="188" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgol-qmKyVPK1-t2afI7ADfXqqp12TKTSUYpKSPPA5gu1M405w-BiYbBPfQXA__9vflyOWQ7PYxzl2FHLQTib6T5iqAkZPiUPuv0qcWs0R1Wr7rBpnb6Pg7XBOq_tbcntTWA235BJtNwkE/w200-h188/45ECFF3B-BF7C-490D-8EF8-54BC0A0249B4.jpeg" width="200" /></a></div><p>Next, I made one for my niece.... It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there.</p><p>Anyway, I will post again soon with some Christmas cards I have been working on - for sending out and for charity. By then I should know if anyone is still out there and interested 😁</p><p>Happy crafting. (aka Challenge 124)</div>
<br />
<br />
Hi there all you lovely people! It is Sunday, which means that beginning of another challenge at <a href="http://onestitchatatimechallenge.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">One Stitch at a Time Challenges</a>. Our theme is 'Use a Digi' - so other than that, the doors are wide open for your own creativitiy to run free!<br />
<br />
This week's sponsor is<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://stitchybearstamps.com/shop/" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjss2LCT_eFr3vk1EOxR7z0CiXTd4si_YnSHKEYa7DE195YpvK9ZRH9gogsScyz93U9ni29Q4JB44bIcn-Ik7hYaXj9NlDgFlgdD3rGJwSuAqneTMrw8VDGrEayabFe0T9SPWRACUYmYHY/s1600/Store-Logo-3.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
and that image I got to work with is<a href="http://stitchybearstamps.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11_32&products_id=2135" target="_blank"> Funky Floral VI by Floppy Latte Designs</a>. I thought I would have a play with the image in Craft Artist Professional to see what I could come up with....and this is it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6dTsbpCJKJpKN81hIgLJvDONL0o5DussbyY0aiKstPYIOsDP4ZDjP-bRnZh1HOmALHFXThKHvTGRhaN9VtEBqoQUOM_ZJVzEkiP_xVnfMRPf4Afvt2N2AdeEH6dep9KXct21BmoE-FEg/s1600/OSAAT+Funky+Floral+-+Floppy+Latte+Watermarked.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6dTsbpCJKJpKN81hIgLJvDONL0o5DussbyY0aiKstPYIOsDP4ZDjP-bRnZh1HOmALHFXThKHvTGRhaN9VtEBqoQUOM_ZJVzEkiP_xVnfMRPf4Afvt2N2AdeEH6dep9KXct21BmoE-FEg/s640/OSAAT+Funky+Floral+-+Floppy+Latte+Watermarked.jpg" width="457" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the image once as line art and converted it from black to white, enlarged it, and added it to the background. Then I printed the image as black line art (as it would be out of the tin so to speak). The image made me think of peacock feathers a bit, so I went with the purple and teal color scheme with pink accents - using Flex Markers for the coloring of course. The only non digital element is the flower next to the sentiment and the coloring of the smaller image. I think the overall effect turned out very nice - I hope you agree.<br />
<br />
I am going to keep this short and sweet, as I forgot to schedule my blog post ahead of time and am now running late!<br />
<br />
Do be sure to visit the main blog, and if the mood strikes you, show the other design team members some love! Their creations are beautiful! Also, link up your own digi image projects for a chance to win a set of digi stamps(if you use a <a href="http://stitchybearstamps.com/shop/" target="_blank">Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps</a> image in your project) or to win $3 to spend in the Stitchy Bear shop if you use a non SBDS image.<br />
<br />
I would like to enter this creation in the following challenges:<br />

<br />
<br />
Right, the longer I ramble, the later this post gets, so I will shush and post this now.<br />
<br />
Take care and I hope to see you back soon!<br />

We are being sponsored by the wonderful<a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/MayzyArt" target="_blank"> MayzyArt Digital Stamp Designs</a>, and with the Olympics starting imminently, the theme is Olympic Sports. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/179943_10150963222254267_1498861556_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/179943_10150963222254267_1498861556_n.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is a photo to inspire you. Remember, you can make a project taking any inspiration from this picture - whether it be colors, style, or subject matter etc. Let your imagination run wild - or by all means show us your best Olympic Sports related projects. I am sure there are quite a few of them floating around at there in the crafty blogging world!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://findicons.com/files//icons/2545/preview/summer_olympics_full.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://findicons.com/files//icons/2545/preview/summer_olympics_full.png" width="248" /></a></div>
<br />
And, for a little more inspiration, here is my project using the adorable 'Tennis' digi from MayzyArt.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl6ukC5C90OOVaTYOimcGtreQkqbw15MrHw6OiUrsxbDNhDqvYBtxXJzMYt2V1avJN4cod0QYSDqcJ4v_zreEciWWW9LMk1e4F9dg6NVG3ltiKYtvgb2gW2VU-ffMPsql5qqgET8eC1iI/s1600/JIC+MayzyArt+-+Olympic+Colors+-+Watermarked.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl6ukC5C90OOVaTYOimcGtreQkqbw15MrHw6OiUrsxbDNhDqvYBtxXJzMYt2V1avJN4cod0QYSDqcJ4v_zreEciWWW9LMk1e4F9dg6NVG3ltiKYtvgb2gW2VU-ffMPsql5qqgET8eC1iI/s640/JIC+MayzyArt+-+Olympic+Colors+-+Watermarked.jpg" width="618" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The image is colored with Flex Markers. All the paper and card came out of my cut off's box, so in addition to being my design team card for JIC, it is also the next in my own ' Use it Up' series...lol. It is difficult to see it the pic, but the layer just behind the image is pealescent blue, as is the blue layer underneath the textured red paper.<br />
<br />
As I was taking the pic this morning (which I was in a panic to do as I forgot it was Wednesday yesterday and by extension that the new JIC challenge would be starting today) I thought the card needed just a little something more. I decided on liquid pearls in baby blue. Perhaps I should have left well enough alone as the top ones are not as straight and even as I would have liked. That is what I get for crafting in a panic at 6 am..lol.<br />
<br />
Anyway, it is what it is...and I hope even with its flaws it is something you can draw some inspiration from. Check out the <a href="http://www.justinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">main blog</a> for the creations by the rest of the design team, and do link up your projects. <br />
