Hey everyone! Since it's almost Halloween, and of course I still don't have a costume (this is when you say "same" because 2016), I was searching through Pinterest and Youtube trying to find some inspiration. One of my favorite youtubers, Simply Nailogical, posted a video of her "DIY Glam Witch Nails" and I was like "I NEEEEEDD THEMMMM" (no but really).
I had a problem with the method she used that sort of angers me, because nearly every cool nail tutorial requires it: FAKE NAILS (which should not count as DIY btw). Ok, don't get me wrong, fake nails are great, but not for me. I have been blessed with incredibly thin and brittle nails that can only be used to stab people :) Also, I don't have a car to drive to the store so... I guess my hopes and dreams are dead *insert depressing meme*.
But!!!! With my incredible cutting skills, I whipped up some of the best fake nails ever AND created a new use for straws! Behold.......actual DIY nails!!!

It was super easy to make these. All you have to do is cut 10 straw segments (give or take depending on how many fingers you have and how often you screw up), whatever length you want your nails to be (just a warning: it curls into more of a straw shape at the end the longer they are). Next, cut the straws so that you can unfold them and make them flat. Then, measure the pieces against each of your nails and cut them to fit. You may need to round the corners near your cuticles. I used double sided tape to attach them so they wouldn't get damaged, but if you would prefer nail glue, you can use that. I painted them just like you would any regular nail. Disclaimer: after awhile, the double sided tape wears away and the nails start falling off. The nails will come off if you wash your hands. Don't sleep in these unless you want to die.

I Love My Curly Hair!

Hello everyone! I took some time yesterday changing up my profile and channel art for social media accounts, as well as brainstorming for posts. I noticed, as I'm writing this, that most of the things I came up with (post ideas) were things that I was insecure about and I think this may become slightly an inspirational blog? Anyways, that's not what this post is all about. Today, I wanted to share with you my hair story and how I began loving my natural hair.
When I was younger I had Shirley Temple curls! They were the best thing ever, but I wanted my hair straight. I got used to a routine for straight hair, and as of recently, I realized that is not what was meant for me. I became insecure about my hair because it was very poofy, frizzy, undefined, and not shiny, unlike my straight-haired friends. I started researching "how to fix frizzy hair" and "why is my hair so dull" and finally came across a Youtube channel, CurlyPenny. I began to envy her and she spoke of a magical thing called "The Curly Girl Method".
I thought "it wouldn't hurt to try!", so I purchased Curly Girl: The Handbook. The book was very descriptive and really changed my viewpoint of hair care. I may upload a review and/or a hair routine on Youtube sometime this week, if I get to it, just to get more in depth about my opinions on the book. As of now, however, I would like to show you what products I use and what this method has really done for my hair.
Disclaimer: These photos were not taken in the same day (after photo was taken a day later), but this is what it actually looked like before (maybe slightly more damaged-looking and less wavy) and after I began this method. Most of the problem had been from me brushing my dry hair. Also, apologies for the bad lighting!

Products I Use:

Left to Right: 2Chic Brazilian Keratin & Argan Oil Ultra Sleek Shampoo, Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner, DevaCurl Light Defining Gel, Conair Comb
Before:

Washed and conditioned hair; combed while dry.

After:

Curly Girl Method; post shower (hair is dry).

I'M FINALLY BACK!

Oh my gosh! I don't even know how long it's been since the last time I posted on CraftyMeccaMonster! I've been inspired to get back into blogging because I realized that in the time I haven't been posting, my imagination hasn't been running as wild as I wish it could be, and I feel compelled to change that.
My whole life I've been told I'm a good writer and have been praised for my creativity, but as of recently, my lack of creativity has really put me down and had me thinking: why did I stop working on CMM? I truly couldn't seem to answer this question no matter how hard I tried, and the constant nagging of my mother didn't seem to help. With time I realized that I really had no good excuse to not post and that I needed to figure out how to change things.
  I'm going to start off with my obsession with Youtube. This tends to be a serious problem in my life because I am constantly watching videos, regardless of their relativity to my life, causing me to procrastinate on my school work and home life. I know, however, that I couldn't just cut Youtube out, because for my generation, it acts as a vital learning tool, but also a drug. My mom tells me it's cutting off my flow of imagination, and in a way I think she's right. I do think that seeing other people do things rather than doing them myself is wasting my time, but I also believe that if you simply filter and limit what you watch, it can really benefit you.
  With this in mind, I have started watching certain channels and always ask myself: what will I get out of watching this video? I noticed this really helps me and hope that maybe through sharing this information, it will help you, too : )
  Mom, if you're reading this, I want you to realize that not everything I'm doing is benefiting me, but I'm trying, I really am. If any of you watch my Youtube, you may see some activity on there (for the first time in forever), as in I will be working to make it more decorated and welcoming. Hopefully, I will be able to list some of the people I get my inspiration from and will be able to post more once I get into the gist of school.
  I hope you enjoyed reading this and hopefully got at least one thing out of it. I am in the process of brainstorming some post ideas and trying to come up with a reasonable post schedule, but of course I also wish to work a bit on my Youtube channel (and maybe Facebook page) as well. Pumpkin Me...

Hey everyone! As some might know, my favorite season is autumn. The best part: EVERYTHING PUMPKIN!!! So far this season I've consumed or taken part in pumpkin: cereal, oatmeal, candles, pie, carving, protein bars, ect. Anyways, getting back on topic, I got this adorable little (it was actually quite large) Sculpey kit from Costco. Also knowing I love making things with polymer clay (and eating pumpkin), I fell in love, especially when I saw that there was a color called PUMPKIN. I made this adorable little ring:

Hey everyone! I'm sorry about not posting for a while, but I couldn't wait any longer, so I decided I should start posting things without the "help" of my camera (as we may know, it has lead to several disasters).
So, since I haven't picked up my trusty Rainbow Loom for a while, I searched up some ideas on Youtube until I came to the channel feelinspiffy. I watched several of the great tutorials, when this adorable pea pod video popped up. Although the project took at least an hour and a half and about 470 bands, it was totally worth it!
