This bright cotton wide brim hat is perfect for keeping the sun off your head while you are outside in your garden or relaxing at the beach. It is constructed of a bright modern cotton fabric. I used two layers of interfacing for the brim. The inside cap portion of the hat is lined with muslin. The muslin is a great lining fabric because it is loosely woven light weight fabric which allows air to move through it - great for those sunny days.

Measures: 22" (55.9 cm) head measurement. The brim is 3 1/4" wide,(8.3 cm).

Measure circumference of head - start just above the top of your ears, wrap tape measure gently around head making certain tape lies midway on your occipital bone (that little bump in the middle of the back of your head).

It will be mailed in a high quality polyethylene mailing envelope, stuffed with paper to prevent crushing and wrapped in tissue paper.

A combination of moss green cardstock base, with a front covered by glitter flower and shimmer dots and stripes patterned papers; this card is decorated with fun die cuts.

In Memory Of....

2013-04-15T18:31:00.000-07:00

There is no explanation as to why the tragic event in Boston happened today. My prayers go out to all who experienced that tragedy.

God is so much bigger than anything we can imagine and HE knew this was going to happen. Our human side is always trying to figure out why stuff like this happens and why God allows it to happen. All I can say is who am I to question. I am but a small tiny human among God's creation. The reality is that HE allows things to happen for HIS glory no matter what we think! Christians, keep seeking HIM a midst the storms!

These finds are inspired by those hurting.

Happy April Fool's Day

2013-04-01T12:57:00.000-07:00

The origin of April Fool's day has many fooled! In other words, there really isn't one origin that can be given the credit for this day. What many believe is that it began from from foolery back in the 12th century. In the long run, it really doesn't matter what the origin.

Have you been the victim of April Fool's?

While you think about that I hope you enjoy these finds!

This birdfeeder is handcrafted out of pine and hand painted with acrylic paints.

Steve builds the feeder and then I take it and carve the roof to look like shingles. Then we putty it and sand it to make sure the seams are as finished as possible. Our next step is Steve spraying the bird feeder with a clear coat to seal it.Then I take it to my studio and prime it with a primer. Next, I get to paint it any way I want and I have fun with it. The last step is to take it back out to our shop and Steve gives it another six coats of clear coat so that it can be put outside and used by the birds.

Many people have questioned whether the birds would use it if there are so many colors on the feeder. I now have proof, my brother-in-law showed us a picture of a little nut hatch eating out of his.

Feminine Flower Necklace in Pink with Crystal Accents and Rose Alexandrite

I adore flowers and, when I saw these flower beads created by BeeTreeByMe, I just knew I had to have them so I could create something wonderful with them. It took several attempts to find just the right way to present the beautiful pink and ivory flower that is the centerpiece of this necklace. Finally, I woke up one morning with an idea of just the perfect design.

As I mentioned before, the polymer clay flower and matching beads are the creation o fBeeTreebyMe.etsy.com. To create the remainder of the necklace, I used Rose Alexandrite beads, two large pink faceted crystal twist beads, and pink and white glass seed beads.

What do you know About St. Patty's Day?

2013-03-15T06:30:00.000-07:00

Did you know: Leprechauns had nothing to do with St. Patrick or the celebration of St. Patrick's Day, a Catholic holy day?
In 1959, Walt Disney released a film called Darby O'Gill & the Little People, which introduced America to a very different sort of leprechaun than the cantankerous little man of Irish folklore. This cheerful, friendly leprechaun is a purely American invention, but has quickly evolved into an easily recognizable symbol of both St. Patrick's Day and Ireland in general.

Did you know: Blue was the actual color of St. Pat's and not green?

Did you know: Irish music was outlawed by Queen Elizabeth I?
During her reign she decreed that all pipers and artists were to be hanged on the spot.

Did you know: The shamrock was a sacred plant in Ireland?
It symbolized the rebirth of spring. By the seventeenth century, the shamrock had become a symbol of emerging Irish nationalism. As the English began to seize Irish land and make laws against the use of the Irish language and the practice of Catholicism, many Irish began to wear the shamrock as a symbol of their pride in their heritage and their displeasure with English rule.

Large Soy Candle, 36 ounces Irish Moss, Three Wick

****CLICK HERE TO VISIT SHOP
Nothing says St. Patrick's Day like an Irish Moss Bowl Candle. The Basket weave design on this white bowl is so pretty and the delicate clovers bring just that brightness of color to make it festive. You choose whether you want the 36 ounces of soy wax to be green or white.

With the three wicks you'll enjoy hours and hours of beautiful glow and burn time.

Soy wax is a natural product and burns much cleaner and longer than traditional paraffin.

I've used hemp wicks in this candle design. You'll be very pleased with their performance when you trim the wicks before lighting every time. If you burn this candle for longer than 3 hours at a time you may wish to blow them out, trim the wicks and relight for a prettier flame.

Day of The Dead - Did you know?

2012-10-31T08:00:00.000-07:00

At first glance, the Mexican custom of El Día de los Muertos — the Day of the Dead — may sound much like the U.S. custom of Halloween. After all, the celebration traditionally starts at midnight the night of Oct. 31, and the festivities are abundant in images related to death.

But the customs have different origins, and their attitudes toward death are different: In the typical Halloween festivities, death is something to be feared. But in el día de los muertos, death — or at least the memories of those who have died — is something to be celebrated.

Summer Time Sunny Ideas!

2012-08-06T06:00:00.000-07:00

Hello Friends, so sorry it has taken a couple months to post. I have been working on getting certified in medical coding and that is taking a bunch of my time because I have a goal to be done by the end of this year. In other words, I want to be certified! I already have a medical background but I want to branch out into something that will allow me (after I have worked some in house) to be able to work from home.

Enjoy these finds:

You are my sunshine... - Custom Nursery Painting

***Click to visit shop: Live Delightfully

About } This listing is for one painting that says, "You are my sunshine my only sunshine." The painting can be done in your choice of color. The painting is sprayed with a sealer. The sides are painted so the painting doesn't have to be framed. Please remember that this is hand-painted, not a print. There might be some slight changes in spacing and such for each custom painting I do. Also, as true with any online purchase, the color may vary slightly.

The canvas is stretched over a light weight wooden frame. You can easily hang this painting on pushpins or even sticky hanging tabs. This is a lovely painting that would be great in your little one's nursery or room, or even in a teen's room, dorm room, etc. This painting is made to order. I will begin working once payment is received. Please allow up to 10 days (often done in less) of production time + extra shipping time.

{ Size } This painting is done on a 16x20 inch canvas. If you'd like I different size, send me a convo and we can discuss options.

{ Colors } It is shown in the color "Lemon Yellow", but it can be done in any color to match your own room decor. Send me a convo and we can discuss color options. The lettering is white and outlined in orange.

Original Oil Painting "Sunlight Cross" on 18x24 stretched canvas

Click to visit Art Reflections Studio

Title: "Sunlight Cross"
Size: 18x24
Medium: Oil painting on stretched canvas

This painting was inspired by a photo that my mother-in-law took while she was out on a walk. She captured the sun shining behind the clouds as it rose for the morning. It is at times like these that I have always felt closer to the Lord and felt that a cross in the foreground would make a nice statement with Easter right around the corner. A beautiful frame would add that final touch to make this the perfect gift for the faithful servant this Easter.

Butterflies Spring Printable pdf Banner Bunting Coloring Pages Set of Four

Click to visit: PPS by LSS

You will receive a pdf of my original butterfly drawings to print and color anyway you like. There are four different designs. These are made to be printed on standard 8.5 X 11 inches (21 X 27 cm) size paper. They make fun coloring pages or use them to create a banner as I did.

I have added small tabs at the top of each butterfly to be used if you wish to make a banner or bunting as I did in photo 1. I printed mine on card stock, colored with crayons, and cut out. Next I folded the tabs to the back, secured with tape to create a loop to run the ribbon through for a banner. If you don't like the tabs, cut them off and use the butterflies as a wall or door decoration.
When I receive your payment, I will email you the pdf file with the four butterflies. You may print as many copies as you like. This is designed by Laurel Susan Studio for your personal use.

Needle Felted Sheep, Momma Ewe and Baby Sheep, Spring and Easter, Made to Order

Click to visit: The Sunflower Tree

Photos from previous orders--Your sheep will vary slightly from the photos.

Mamma Ewe and baby like to explore the pasture together. Mamma loves to show baby new things. They are happy to be outside and enjoying the day, but oftentimes they just end up following each other around.

This listing is for purchasing a made-to-order pair of sheep. The photo is a stock photo, so your sheep may look slightly different. Your sheep will be made with a combination of wools, and will come with a care tag so that you will be able to enjoy them for years to come. Mamma Ewe will measure approximately 2 1/2" tall and approximately 4" long (nose to tail), and baby will measure around 1 1/2" tall and about 3" long. Momma Ewe has a silver bell tied around her neck with green and white ribbon, and baby has a ribbon tied around her middle. I also have a red and white ribbon, and it can be substituted for no extra charge--just specify color when ordering. If no spec is given, green is the default color. They come from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Please allow approximately 3 days for completion, depending on work load. I will be able to give you a more precise lead time when you place your order.

Each one of my critters is made with love and wool at the time of ordering. Because of this, no two are exactly alike. Please note, though, that due to the construction of these animals, they really shouldn't be used as toys, and they may contain small parts.

Crochet Pattern -- A Good Egg

Click to visit: Huggermugger

Crochet one egg or one dozen from my quick and easy pattern! Use them to decorate for Easter or add them to your child's toy food pantry.

This pattern calls for a small amount of worsted yarn -- I used commercially available cotton yarn, as it has a bit of stiffness to it that helps them keep their shape, but you can really use any worsted yarn. You will also need an H/8 (5.00mm) hook and some cotton or other material for stuffing. The finished size following the pattern's gauge will be 3" tall and 6" around at widest part.

This is an easy pattern, perfect for beginners. It contains no abbreviations, and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have about it. This pattern uses only single crochet and slip stitches.

This pattern is a pdf file and will be emailed to the address of your choice.
