Good bye to good ole Countryside....

I have alway's loved fat fender trucks. From the seeing them on The Walton's and Sanford and Son TV shows to getting a peak of an old broken down one's hidden in the back of someones yard when driving around in the country. This set was a a must for me when it came out, and I will miss it so. I have found it to be my go to set for Fathers Day, and Birthday's for the men in my life. It's a great set to color, either the entire truck or just the apples as I've done here. I've teamed the set up with "Remember When" from the Word Play stamp set.

There are only a few more day's to order retiring product. Make sure you pick up your favorites before they are gone.

Swallowtail Thanks

Happy Friday!!!

I think this Swallowtail stamp was immediately my favorite when the spring catalog came out. I love the big bold images, but it did intimidate me a little after I got it. I have a very large pile of stamped images that didn't make the cut!!

For this card I heat embossed the swallowtail in black, then colored it with blender pens and the classic ink pads. I love the seam binding ribbon. (let's all pray together that it makes it into the new catalog coming out in June!!) To make the scrunchie-wrinkled look, roll the ribbon around in the palm of your hand in to a ball, and use a spritzer filled with rubbing alcohol, and spray. Set it aside to dry. The alcohol drys quickly and you will have the very shabby wrinkled ribbon to work with.

Love & Sympathy...for Boston (UPDATED)

I designed this card a month or so back for a demonstrator meeting, and I've had it ready to blog about it for awhile, but I thought it was the perfect card for today....for sending Love and Sympathy for the city and people of Boston, and all those affected by the bombing at the marathon yesterday. I've lived all my life just outside of Boston, and I've watched the marathon many times from the exact location of the 1st explosion.

My heart and prayers go out to all effected by this senseless act.

Boutique Blossom Mother's Day

Here's a card we made at our last stamp club/class. I wanted to highlight how great all of the single stamps are and they have been so popular that they have been extended through July 31. Yeah!

Also, Mother's Day is our next big card making holiday - May 12th!!! Make sure you have a card ready for your Mom or your favorite Mom - maybe that new mom down the road!!!

We used the Boutique Blossom (132663) and colored it with Markers - Primrose Petals, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit - all from the 2012 - 2014 In-Colors (126856 ).

This flower is a good size. The partial circle is from the 3 1/2 Original Die. It's nice to have some big images.
