Lately I have been obsessed with Cupcake Wars. And I thought I just whip a blog post about it:
Yes! cupcake wars! Isn't that crazy? I just stumbled across this video (and yes, it is quite old), but just watch!

This is the start of the real Cupcake wars! My favorite recipe that has been revealed is the Chocolate Chip Canoli Cupcake recipe. It's so heavenly. *Automatically goes into daydream mode* So get your bake on and bake this recipe!

Marshmallow Cupcakes

What? Marshmallow cupcakes? I know sounds a bit bizarre, but it's actually really tasty. Here I will show you how to make it. You will need:
Vanilla batter ready to be put int the oven
Marshmallows

Okay so first thing is first, add the amount of marshmallows you want and add marshmallows to cupcake pan and place in oven. Don't worry if you see bumps in cupcakes. It's the marshmallows in it.

The finished result should look like this:

And these cupcakes taste absolutely delicious!

P.S. If you want icing with marshmallow chunks go for it!

Fabric Flower Barrette

Spring is finally here! Woo! And you know what that means... FLOWERS! I needed inspiration for today's tutorial so I depended on the lovely flowers around me. So I scavenged out to find some flowers.

Anyway, let's get started on the tutorial. You will need:

A long rectangle piece of fabric (this varies on how big you want your fabric flower

Circular piece of felt

Glue

Barrette or hair clip

First get your fabric and tie a knot on one end. Start twisting fabric and wrap around the knot. Until you are satisfied with your flow,r glue end of fabric at back of flower. Snip to holes in felt and glue felt on flower. Insert barrette of hair clip.

Green Tea Ice Facial

Green tea is an essential for the skin (well, for my skin). I will guarantee you that if you walk into any beauty/cosmetics store you will find something that has to do with green tea. Studies have shown that green tea could protect against cancer, osteoporosis, heart disease, and may aid in weight loss. Also, many believe that green tea in skin products can help ward of skin cancer, zap signs of aging, and rejuvenate skin cells. Research also has shown, green tea extract is rich in antioxidants, which of course are healthy for the skin and protect the body from free radicals. So there is no doubt the green tea is good for the skin... right? Yes!

Take me for example. I bought the Tea Tree Blackhead Exfoliating Wash from the Body Shop and my nose was as smooth as can be (I would recommend the product!). So there you have the benefits of green tea.
Since green tea is brilliant for your skin I found an excellent tutorial for the Green Tea Ice Facial. Here is how I made it.
You will need:
Green Tea
Water
Ice Tray
Toothpicks

First grab your tea bag and put it in water. Once made, add to ice tray. After 1 hour or so, place toothpick in ice.
Note: I forgot to add toothpicks, so it doesn't look like the picture.

Leave in fridge until completely frozen take out and you have a homemade green tea ice for your facial.

Devouring Coffee Cake Cupcakes

How was your Valentine's Day? My was great and guess what I made? Cupcakes! (That was a little obvious!) Anyway I made Coffee Cake (just get your standard vanilla cupcake recipe and add 1 tbsp. instant coffee dissolved in 1 tbsp. milk), with my favorite buttercream recipe topped chocolate sprinkles.

Valentines Barrettes

This perfect idea poped into my head! Valentines hair clips! I searched and searched online and I found Purl Bee and they have a tutorial on it! Except, I did mine a little differently.
So, with Valentines just around the corner, you don't have any Valentines flair! Well, here is a Valentines Barrette that is noticeable, but not to in-your-face. You will need:
Contrasting felt (red and pink or fuchsia and pink)
A bobby pin or barrette
Purl Bee Valentine Heart Template

Before we get started I'd just want to let you know that I am using red and pink felt.

So the first thing to do is use one of your felts (I'm using red) and cut it out in the shape of the large heart on the template. You will need two of these. Afterwards, do the same with other felt (again, I'm using pink) except cut it out in the shape of the small heart and you only need one.

With one of your large felt pieces make a slit to put in the barrette. If you are using a bobby pin like me, make one slit in the middle and then another slit far off to the other side. Sew both of the large pieces together.

Now take your small pink heart, place it in the middle on the side that does not have the slits in it, and sew straight down the heart. Your result should look like this:

Petit Valentines Cupcakes

These are the perfect little cupcake hearts ever! I was making cupcakes in the kitchen one day and I decided to put frosting on my cupcakes. I whipped some yellow royal icing and it never occured to me that I used my heart silicone cupcake moulds.

So then I filled my cupcakes with royal icing on the "heart part" and I drew a red heart on the cupcake.

Cute isn't it? I absolutely love it! I also just made the standard cupcake using the same method.

Another way you can do this is by using a bundtlette mould or a bite size standard cupcake mould!

Love it so much!

iPhone Bookmark

Right. Let's set this straight. I've always thought about the fact that in tap you can access your favorite web page or whatever. I've never ever personally liked this trick (And yes this trick is quite old, but not a lot of people don't know how to do it, let it alone know what it is.) , but it's worth showing. Basically all it is, is that Apple (the company. Not the fruit!) lets you select your favorite web page and turn it into a bookmark on one of your iPhone pages. Here is an example:

See that white app looking thing with a heart on it? That's what we are going for. So that's what we are going to do! Let's go straight into the tutorial!

Note: This tutorial is for iPhone users only. I think that anyone who owns the very first iPhone that ever came out up to the latest and newest iPhone can do this. Also iTouch users can do this too!

So the first thing you are going to want to do is go to the Safari app and type in the web address (URL) you want to bookmark. For this bookmark I am using my website. (http://craftyascanbe.blogspot.com).

If you want your bookmark to have a clip of the web page just move and scale. I went for the heart because that's what symbolizes Crafty As Can Be. Afterwards, tap the icon with the square and the arrow coming out of it and tap “Add to Home Screen”.

Edit the name and the the icon. To edit the icon just tap the icon and select and drag 'till you get the icon you want. Then tap “Add” (top right hand corner).

Afterwards, your bookmark should appear on your iPhone screen. Enjoy going to your favorite web page with just a tap.

Snow Ice Cream

What? It's possible to get Snow Ice Cream? Yup it is. I think this is a great recipe for anybody. I really not a big fan of vanilla ice cream, but I still like this recipe. Okay enough with the jibber jabber, let's get into the tutorial.
You will need:
US
Snow (you didn't see the what coming?)
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Metric
Snow
119 ml milk
60 g sugar
5 ml vanilla

First things to do is combine milk, sugar, and vanilla until sugar has dissolved.

Go outside and fetch your snow.

Then take snow about add about 1-4 teaspoons of vanilla.

Mix gently. You should get something like that. You can add sprinkle, marshmallows, whatever you want to it. I added chocolate syrup to get rid of that vanilla taste.

How to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads with a simple remedy

Wanna clear up nose before your holiday parties? Here is the perfect tutorial for you. My friend showed me this remedy and it has left my nose softer than ever and it has plucked all the nasty bacteria in my nose. Love it!
Here is what you need:
Toothpaste
Salt
The minty sensation in toothpaste will pry open your open pores and it will kill bacteria. Also it will deep cleanse your nose and pluck out any blackheads. Salt is a natural disinfectant and exfoliant, plus it does not dissolve in toothpaste, making it the perfect combination.

First you are going to have to squeeze out some toothpaste. The toothpaste color does not matter.

Then sprinkle your salt on the toothpaste.

Mix thoroughly until well blended.

Then apply paste to your nose and instantly you should feel your pores opening up. Leave the paste on for 5 minutes. Then scrub your nose in a circular motion to pluck out your blackheads and exfoliate your nose. Afterwards, rinse nose with warm water then cold water to shrink your pores. Then you can apply toner, it's not really necessary though. And if your nose is pink don't worry it will go away after 5-10 minutes.

Mail2Blogger is basically where you type a blog post on your email and send to your secret email and it will either publish directly to Blogger or save it as a draft. Neat! Here is how you do it.
First go into to Email and go to Email & Mobile. Scroll down until you see Posting Options.

It then has your email with a dot and it asks to type in your secret words. You could either Publish emails immediately or save emails as draft posts.Once you did this click Save and go to your email and type your blog post.

It should have done what you asked for when filling out the Posting Options. Example: Publishing emails immediately.

Honey so Sweet Lipscrub

Many people use remedies on their bodies to exfoliate their skin for softness and moisture. But did you remember about your lips? Exfoliating your lips will not only make your lips hold moisture, but will prevent chapping.

Another thing I want to add to this before getting started is that I used honey and sugar for this scrub because I guarantee you that you will get a very tiny proportion of this scrub in your mouth and you do not want a very bad taste in your mouth. I am pretty sure you want I sweet taste in your mouth.

You will need sugar and honey.

First thing you are going to do is take your sugar. Two tablespoons will do. Then combine with Honey until you get the consistency you want.

My result looks like this:

I love this Honey Sweet Lip scrub so much and it's especially good at moisturizing your lips in the winter!

Simple White Cake Recipe

Now I don't about you, but these cupcakes are amazing. I love these so much. I have used this recipe for a very long time,ever since my friend shared the recipe with us. It's easy, fast, and less time consuming.
Here is how you make it.
You will need:
US
1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup butter

2 eggs

2 tsp. vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 3/4 tsp. baking powder

1/2 cup milk
metric
200 g granulated sugar

115 g butter

2 eggs

10 ml vanilla extract

190 g all-purpose flour

8 g baking powder

120 ml milk

Preheat oven to 350ºF or 175ºC. Line muffin pan with paper liners.
In a medium or lage bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.

Then beat in the 2 eggs. One at a time.

Afterwards stir in vanilla.

Combine flour and baking powder and a gradually add to the mixture.

Finally, stir in the milk until the mixture is smooth.

Line and pour mixture into your muffin pan and let cupcakes cook for about 20-30 minutes. Cupcakes are finished when you touch and they spring back up.

And that is it! Easy right? And the cupcakes are very delicious!

Glamorous Towel

Some towels these day can be quite expensive! Talk about how some of them don't match your style! In this tutorial I will show you how to glam up your towel from drag to fab!

You will need:

A plain towel

ribbon

sewing glue

glueable and bejewelled flowers

Well I just had this boring piece or blue ribbon with green polka-dots and another piece that was green with blue polka-dots. All did to make it better was glue both ribbons together and combine this

amazing piece of ribbon!

Your ribbon should be long enough to go across and wrap on both sides of the towel. Glue the ribbon straight on the towel and let it dry.

Next you are going to go off the edge fold it and put glue on the towel. Then you are going to put the ribbon down. Let it sit and dry. I put a pin in there to hold it in place while the ribbon is drying.

That’s it if you just want the ribbon.

Want some sparkle?

Put your bejeweled flowers in place and glue them.
Well that is it! Enjoy your towel!
