Feds seek 4th suspect in sex trafficking, prostitution ring:

The FBI, the IRS and the Anchorage, Alaska police department have busted a major prostitution and trafficking ring that has operated on craigslist since 2006.

Authorities have arrested Sabil Mumin Mujahid, Sidney Lamar Greene, and Rand Hooks while Keyana "Koko" Marshall (pictured) remains at large.

The quartet are accused of prostituting at least 50 women with at least 3 underage girls. They are also accused of identity theft and tax fraud because they would get the personal information of their victims and use it to file tax returns and collect the money. Sounds like a lot of victims in a victimless crime.

Not to mention the fact that this went on craigslist for 3 years with it never being flagged. Go figure.

Nine people were indicted on federal charges of child sex trafficking in San Diego this past week. The nine are believed to have been part of a San Diego gang that prostituted three girls ages 15, 16 and 19 on craigslist. The alleged crimes took place between January and November of 2009.

Now when did craigslist supposedly change their site to prevent things like this from happening? That's right, it was May of 2009. It's working liking a charm. Oh wait, no it's not.

And again where was the so called user policing to flag these ads? Then again you can't believe that sucm who use child prostitutes would make the best policemen.

39-year-old Micah Stern (pictured) is from New York City. He was in Cedarburg, Wisconsin for a funeral. He must have been so grief stricken in his mourning that he allegedly posted a graphic ad on craigslist.

The ad was entitled 'Coach Seeking Boys' and went on to read "I am into younger guys who like aggressive men"

The ad also contained a cartoon, which I bet was some form of anime, of a man and boy having sex.

A 14-year-old boy responded to an ad and Stern allegedly set up a meeting in the men's room of a McDonalds in Cedarburg. Luckily the 14-year-old boy was actually an undercover state agent.

Now Stern's alleged ad wasn't placed in the adult services section or even the casual encounters section. It was posted in the Men seeking Men section. Where was the self policing on this one that craigslist and the EFF are so fond to flout about? Most gay men that I know are as equally as repulsed by child molestation as I am. Why wasn't this ad flagged especially in such a small town setting?

How many ads like this go unflagged with children being molested?

This article is a follw up about Brandon Quincy Thompson, 26, and his girlfriend Megan Marie Hayes, 30, of Tea, South Dakota who have been charged in federal court for sex trafficking on backpage. They pleaded not guilty in court this past week but that's not what I want to talk about.

The article details the 'changes' that craigslist has gone through and also details one Philip Markoff who the media dubbed the craigslist killer. However I want to share a few quotes with you.

Backpage.com, a site based in Scottsdale, Ariz., and owned by Village Voice media, has yet to implement such changes. The site has 1.7 to 2.2 million unique page views each month. Representatives of the company did not return calls for comment.

Free-speech advocates argue for self-policing, saying too many ads are posted to expect forum owners to monitor each one.

"The notion is that the soapbox shouldn't be held responsible for what the person on the soapbox says," said Matt Zimmerman, a lawyer with the San Francisco-based Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Just because the law protects them doesn't make it right. No matter what anybody says no one can tell me that craigslist and backpage aren't at least partially responsible for the child prostitution and human trafficking that takes place on their sites. After all they do provide sections on their sites dedicated to it. They're not called the human trafficking sections but they might as well be.

And all it would btake is to remove some code from their websites.

Teen Arrest for Craigslist Drug Ad:

A 13-year-old boy from Sacramento, California was arrested for allegedly selling Oxycodone among other items on craigslist. The local Fox station there came across the ad and in turn they notified police who were surprised as anyone to find a 13-year-old pushing Oxycodone. Not only was the teen arrested but police also arrested the people who were trying to buy the drugs from him.

I didn't think there was an illegal prescription drug section of craigslist. Yet again I have to ask where was craigslist's user policing on this one. That's right, they were running to the kid to buy pills.

Letting the inmates run the asylum never works.

Men charged in hotel robbery:

Roommates from Austin, Texas, Christopher Monk, 36, and Jaime Javier Jimenez, 17, so there's a creep factor right there, have been charged with trying to assault a craigslist hooker. The pair arranged to meet the woman at her hotel room. When they got there Jimenez allegedly pulled a knife on the woman and let in Monk who came in with a video camera. Jimenez was trying to knock out the woman with a sock soaked in chemicals. It seems that one of them found a website that tells you how to make homemade chloroform.

What Monk and Jimenez probaly didn't know is that a lot of escorts have drivers/bodyguards. So did the victim. When he came out of the bathroom Jimenez and Monk took off.

First off why is a 36-year-old man living with a 17-year-old boy? Reminds me of the DC Sniper and Lee Boyd Malvo. Secondly why were they videotaping it? Were these two trying to become serial killers but were obviously too inept to pull it off?

Teen "Skank Agent" In Craigslist Bust:

Check out this story from The Smoking Gun about 17-year-old Samantha Stubbe and 18-year-old Stevi Smet. Stubbe would allegedly place ads in the Adult Gigs section of craigslist offering sex for a place to stay. Smet would act as a decoy while their male accomplices would rob the johns. Stubbe would refer to herself as a "Skank Agent" instead of a pimp. Smet allegedly had sex with one of the men who answered the ad. The Smoking Gun has all the details but this allows me to address one more thing that's wrong with craigslist.

I guess the Adult Gigs section of craigslist is yet another section of the site that the so called user self policing isn't working. Trading sex for an apartment is still illegal. I'm also guessing the Adult Gigs section is not subject to the mystery screening that Adult Services is.

19-year-old Michael Dunbar of San Diego pleaded guilty last week to pimping out his then 17-year-old girlfriend on craigslist in Ontario, California. The 'couple' also have an 18-month-old daughter and have been dating for 5 years. Because nothing says love like selling yourself for sex for your boyfriend or pimping out the mother of your child.

The worst part is Dunbar is only facing felony probation and some jail time. Isn't that a little light for what is technically child prostitution?

And again with an ad that said "SiiMpLy ExOTiic -+- Ebony model with Sweet Sensations...don't miss out!..." how did ths get past craigslist users that supposedly police the site so well and the alleged mystery screenings that craigslist allegedly uses to keep these kind of ads out?

Here we have yet another shining example of the type of denizens that inhabit what I'm almost positive was the casual encounters section of craigslist.

27-year-old Preston Andrew Clarke of Vancouver, BC (still not AD) was arrested for allegedly placing an ad on craigslist seeking sex with an "inexperienced girl".

Luckily it was the Vancouver police that responded to his ad posing as a 14-year-old girl and Clarke was promptly arrested when he went to meet the 'girl'.

Again I say the policing of craigslist by its users obviously doesn't work. If it did these ads would never see the light of day. But God forbid that craigslist should actually try and monitor these ads.

Va. man nabbed in Craigslist sex sting; drawn in by fake ad:

Claude Philip Diehl Jr., of Hollywood, Virginia was arrested for allegedly trying to trade beer and cash for having sex with a 13-year-old girl. Diehl allegedly responded to an ad on craigslist that read in part "Leftover Halloween candy? "Anyone have candy to donate to 'girl' so she's not sad anymore?" The ad was in the casual encounters section. You know, one of the many un-moderated sections of craigslist.

Diehl allegedly worked for a beer distributor and promised the father who was pimping out his daughter $40 and 5 cases of beer. He showed up for the tryst with the beer and the cash, condoms and a Miley Cyrus CD. Luckily when the beer was placed in the father's truck it turns out the father was part of the Leesburg, Virginia police force and promptly arrested Diehl.

Luckily this was all a sting operation and there was no 13-year-old girl however it shows a couple of things. First, while this ad was a fake it shows that there are people out there whoring out their kids on craigslist. The second thing is that if craigslist's user policing works as well as they claim this ad should have never seen the light of day. And Lastly Jim Buckmaster can't claim that this has happened in newspaper advertisements. I don't think any self respecting newspaper would have ever run an ad like that.

I am dying of curiosity to know what kind of beer it was.
