I've been at Waverly since 2003 in different bands and am a really laid-back drummer who's also prone to jamming if that's your thing. SINGER NEEDED (SALEM,MASS)

I'm a signed solo artist looking to form a new band. I had to let my former band go due to personal issues. We cut a 4 song demo that my promoter shopped around to other labels and producers. I have received numerous offers from other Record labels as well as Record Producers. We also were asked to play at numerous venues here in the U.S. as well as London, England. Some of my bandmates couldn't travel or tour even tho they knew from the start that it was a possibility that we would tour. So I had to disband the group. I'm looking for a female lead singer that can sing with passion. I don't care how much experience you have, I only care about your voice. I write in various genres. You could be singing a really rockin blues song to a melodic ballad. I play rhythm and lead guitar for the band DAUWER. I also would like a singer that I can collaborate with. Over two years I have written over 70 songs. Once I get the right musicians in place, I will have the band signed within 6 months. Right now I have a Record Producer who is willing to pay for our hotel expenses, food and beverage also. And depending on the distance of the show, they will pay our travel expenses. I have them on hold til I find the righ musicians. You should have the look of a lead singer and be able to sing with passion and dynamics. Also be able to rehearse 3 days or nights a week and have no problem going on tour. I'll be holding auditions next week in Salem,Mass. Even tho I don't like our live vid, I do have a live vid on Youtube...search DAUWER LIVE AT DODGE ST GRILLE. It's just two songs that were recorded during the show. Obviously I'm the dude playin the guitar...lol..You can also hear my ballad Once Upon An Angel we recorded during rehearsal. It's not the best quality but it'll give you an idea of how the ballad goes. Please don't judge the new band on these vids. The songs are played much better than what you see. My name is Max Bowen and I'm a promoter with the Boston-based Citywide Blackout (www.citywideblackout.com). I'm putting a show together at McGann's in Boston and am seeking two bands to help fill the bill. This is a 21+ show which will run from 8 p.m. to midnight. Genre-wise, it's a folk/rock show, but blues, Americana, and other similar kinds of bands will also be considered. All band members must be 21 or older to join the bill. I hold a Master's degree in Music from New England Conservatory and currently teach both privately and in music schools around Boston, teaching students of all ages, levels, and styles.

My expertise includes the electric guitar, steel-string acoustic guitar, and nylon-string acoustic guitar, and I play professionally in the following styles:
- Jazz (modern, gypsy, and swing)
- Rock
- Blues
- Classical
- Folk
- Latin (traditional and jazz)

For those interested, I also have extensive knowledge in theory and composition, which can be applied to any of the styles above.

The direction you want to go in, and your current level, will decide what exactly we focus on (e.g. we will not study improvisation if you're interested in classical music), rather than having a pre-determined lesson plan regardless of the individual student's needs and tastes. If you're not sure what you'd like to focus on, rest assured this is extremely common and I have developed my own method of helping students find where their real interests and talents lie.

My rate is $40/hr if you come to my studio, located near Brookline Village. For anything besides that (i.e. traveling to your home or finding a meeting place), rates are negotiable. Skype lessons are also available. For all students I am open to questions and concerns outside our normal lesson time, via phone or email. Lastly, my schedule is flexible.

I've been playing jazz piano for my whole life, mostly in academic settings. I've decided it's time to stop having to pay to play with others, so I come here looking for an upright bassist to jam with. I'd say my skills are somewhere between intermediate and advanced -- not quite pro level, but getting there. I'm not looking to make money doing this, just jamming to get better and because I love jazz. Maybe add a drummer in the future - I adore the sound of a piano trio.

If your interest in playing guitar is to be able to write songs, then I'm the teacher for you.
Most approaches to teaching guitar are limited to having students learn to play popular songs they have already heard. Very few teachers can teach you how to come up with your own material. This is my specialty.
In the course of instructing you I will most defintely teach you how to play the cover songs you'd like to play. I feel that learning to play other peoples music is very important. But as an added benefit in my program I will explain how the writers of those songs came up with their musical ideas so you can learn how to do it yourself.

Study with me and you will learn:
Basic chords and as you advance more complex chord structures. How to play scales and the different types of scales there are so you can learn to solo.
Music theory, which is essential in learning to take your musical ideas to the next level.
In addition I will teach you how to keep a lyric journal. Ideas for songs can come at any time and you must have pen and paper ready.
Also, I will show you how to care for your guitar, how to string it, how to buy one that's right for you, how to get gigs when your ready etc.

TO SUM UP: This is really a, learn to play guitar/songwriting/learn to perform
program. I cover all three. This is not something that is generally offered in a basic guitar teaching program.
So take advantage of this unique opportunity if you've got that creative urge that has just got to come out.
SOME PARTICULARS: I will travel to most locals in the BostonMetro area. My fee is a very reasonable $35 per lesson. (45 min.) I suggest students purchase a chord book and a guitar tuner before the first lesson. Open to any age and any level of playing ability.

We're hopefully pursuing an underserved niche market with local cover bands. Tunes that are recognizable, danceable, but not often played. Mainly because they're not the type of tunes you can get together without a little woodshed. Musically and Vocally we are together. We'd be more than happy to trade mp3's (live preferred), to establish bonafides. Very easy going, but highly professional.
We maximize our rehearsal time often banging out 5-6 complicated tunes in 2 hours. We have fun, and there is currently zero drama (and we'd like to keep it that way). We have one lead (male vocal) currently, and 2 bu's. Another female lead, or male lead would put us where we'd like to be.

All 30+ years playing gigs, and this time out wanted to put together something that would "wow" our musician friends. No 3 chord easy bake tunes. We all have comfortable day gigs, so no one needs the gig money to pay for food or rent. Hooking up with someone who did might not be the best fit. 2 of us are coming off gigs that played 80-90 times a year, and we'd like to do something fun maybe 1-2 month. If it helps we were the guys booking the rooms.

The day gig allowed us to buy a shiny new PA with digital mixer, and we can't wait to start polishing the vocals. Hope to add horn(s) as well. This will kill 90% of the potential responder's but its not about the money this time around.

I hold a Master's degree in Music from New England Conservatory and currently teach guitar and piano both privately and in music schools around Boston, teaching students of all ages, levels, and styles.

My expertise includes the electric guitar, steel-string acoustic guitar, nylon-string acoustic guitar, and piano, and I play professionally in the following styles:
- Jazz (modern, gypsy, and swing)
- Rock
- Blues
- Classical
- Folk
- Latin (traditional and jazz)

For those interested, I also have extensive knowledge in theory and composition, which can be applied to any of the styles above.

The direction you want to go in, and your current level, will decide what exactly we focus on (e.g. we will not study improvisation if you're interested in classical music), rather than having a pre-determined lesson plan regardless of the individual student's needs and tastes. If you're not sure what you'd like to focus on, rest assured this is extremely common and I have developed my own method of helping students find where their real interests and talents lie.

My rate is $40/hr for guitar OR piano lessons, and $60/hr for both at once (either splitting each lesson in half, or alternating every other lesson). This rate applies if you come to my studio, located near Brookline Village. For anything besides that (i.e. traveling to your home or finding a meeting place), rates are negotiable. Skype lessons are also available. For all students I am open to questions and concerns outside our normal lesson time, via phone or email. Lastly, my schedule is flexible.
