We're a band of guys, all around 50-ish, who play mostly covers. We practiced for two years getting material together, played our debut gig, which was awesome . . . then our bass player quit.

We're looking to play out only about once every couple of months, occasionally more often, but most of us are in other bands as well. We practice in Painesville Twp., in our drummer's basement. We play a variety of music, with a special concentration on Pink Floyd. The Floyd stuff goes over great, but we do mix it in well with fun, dance-able material.

Groups we currently cover include: Pink Floyd, Cars, Black Crowes, Elton John, The Who, Moody Blues, Tom Petty, ZZ Top, Kiss, Alex Harvey, Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Grand Funk, U2, Beatles, Oasis, Cheap Trick, Smash Mouth, Elvis, Deep Purple, Neil Young, The Tubes and The Rolling Stones.

One Floyd song we're starting to work on is "Pigs," so if you can handle the bass part for that, that would be a bonus.

but am looking for a sound that can go acoustic or electric from song to song. My music has been compared to Iron and Wine, Simon and Garfunkel, Joanna Newsom,
Neutral Milk Hotel, Mates of State (at times), Velvet Underground, Will Oldham/Palace/Bonnie Prince Billy, Bodies of Water: you get the idea.

Heavy emphasis on vocal harmonies, up to three or four parts depending on musicians. Open to any sort of instrumentation but I definitely need the core group of bass, drums, and guitar.
I write good stuff and it's about time I got off my ass and started playing out.

Looking for musicians who are ready to commit to something, play out, tour, etc. I would prefer musicians familiar with the style I'm going for.
Also fine with other songwriters, either working collaboratively or each bringing our own songs to the band. Lyricists welcome as I write melodies easily but lyrics are rough for me.

40-something guitarist, singer-songwriter, looking for like-minded souls to form recording and live Alt-Country, Indie, Folk experiment. I've been out of the live game for nearly a decade, but I've continued writing and playing.

I'm a singer-songwriter with a preference for acoustic music. My primary instrument is the guitar, although I dabble with bass and keys. I'm also trying to learn the mandolin and the ukulele -- but let's not go there just now. My main strength is songwriting. People either love or hate my voice. (I'm somewhere in between on that one...) My guitar "skills" are those of a songwriter, not a gunslinger. I get by, usually without embarrassing myself too much.

With former bands, I've recorded and released six full-length CD's ranging from rock and alternative to folk and acoustic. I've also recorded and released an "ambient electronic" project as a solo artist that managed -- through this wonderful medium of The Web -- to find traction in Europe, including heavy rotation in dance clubs. That release was in heavy rotation on regional college radio here in the States as well. I've also produced an Internet-only "ambient noise" release that received hundreds of downloads each month from my Web site.

My influences and current listening habits include The Decemberists, Son Volt, Wilco, Ryan Adams, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Band of Horses, Gillian Welch, Nick Drake, Mumford & Sons, The Low Anthem, Black Crowes, The National, Shearwater, Great Lake Swimmers, The Wailin' Jennys, The Jayhawks, etc. I've got a wide range of musical loves and would like to form a project wherein we are open to exploring.

I am not interested in taking over the world (or even the Cleveland/Akron "music scene") I'd just like to make some good music with some good people.

I've got a steady job, reliable transport, decent gear and a pocketful of songs. No preconceived notions; the size and scope of the project will depend on the quantity and quality of folks who find their way in.

Hola to every one who looks at this. I am a dubstep producer looking to do a kind of dubstep meets metal thing. If any band or just some people out there want to mess around and see what happens, I'm down. Just so you know I'm not just some kid who makes dubstep "sounds" on his computer. I can actually make the music. Haha.

Just so you know a little about me, I'm 20 years old. Been into dubstep, metal... well, music in general for pretty much all of my life. I can play guitar (7 years of experience), drums (3 years of experience), bass (2 years), ukulele (2 years), and a few others. I'm pretty diverse in my music collection. My "rig" for dubstep is a MacBook Pro, M-Audio Trigger Finger and a pair of Sony headphones. Haha. Pretty minimal, I know. Haha.

I am 40 year old male. I have a full time job and a family. I don't drink/smoke/do drugs. I am looking to start a new band of like minded musicians. I am looking for Lead Guitar, Bass, Drums, Songwriting skills. Multi-instrumental is good if you can throw in vocals/keys/guitar as we can move around a bit.

Influences include but are not limited to Radiohead, Oasis, Noel Gallagher (solo), Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Green Day, Coldplay, Beatles, Cracker, Smashing Pumpkins, The Smiths, etc.... Other sounds I enjoy are Violent Femmes, Beck, Airborne Toxic Event, U2, Sarah McLachlan, Chili Peppers, REM, NIN, Linkin Park, Muse, Eagles, Cure, Depeche Mode, Beastie Boys, Pink Floyd, Doors..... I also play classical piano and new age piano (solo) Jim Brickman-ish style....

I am a closet musician. I have not played out ever, and haven't played with a band or group since school days..... My idea (for now) is to spend a year in the rehearsal space working up a set and begin playing out maybe 8-12/ year in a year or when we are ready. I would like to rehearse one evening a week, 3-4/month. Again I have a full time job and a family and those are the number one priorities. I would like to start with some covers and move to some original music down the road.

I may be able to come up with a basement practice space in Lakewood if it is the only option. I have a 4 channel 80 watt pa and many guitars and a keyboard.

Looking for Concert footage of Purgatory (Auburn Records) from Peabodys Down Under November 25th 1985. The show was Metal Church and Purgatory. There was video footage shot of the show that night.. 'The Tied To The Trax' lineup featuring Jaff Hatrix (J Nothing) Ken Easterly Mark Alexander Randy Gonce Greg Perry, or any other video footage from this lineup I know they played Old Brooklyn Tavern, Phantasy, Monk E Bizness a good bit back in the day.. I've been looking for a long time, hoping to find it for my dad for fathers day coming up. Any help or sources please contact me.

The Real California is searching for a Cleveland based band to add to a CD release show on Friday, July 13th, at The Woodland's Tavern in Columbus, Ohio. The Woodland's is one of Columbus' premier ORIGINAL MUSIC venues and always draws a great crowd of local live music enthusiasts. There is a fantastic back stage dressing room, house sound, stage, etc, and the venue takes really great care of the bands.

We will definitely pay you something for making the drive down, but the primary premise of this would be that in return, we would come play a show with you in Cleveland sometime. I am a fifty two year old Christian male who wants to form a band to serve and glorify God to get the gospel out through original music. I play guitar, I do not like mainstream Christian rock music of today. I like the old hymns and would like to find others who like them as well by doing up to date versions plus writing original music. I have been playing and taking lessons almost 4 years. I know how to read music and looking for the same as it is vital to becoming a better musician. Looking for a bassist , keyboard and another guitar. The bands that I listen to and influence me that are Christian is a mixture of Metal, Rock and Blues, They are Blood good, Striper, Watchmen, Barren Cross, White Cross, Ken Templin, Seventh Power,Third Day and Darrel Mansfield as well as the old hymns. This isn't about the music it's about spreading the gospel and glorifying God. So you have to have free time right now and this must be a priority!
