I haven’t played the game, but from the review it seems quite ‘interesting’. Go check it out for yourself.

One of the first thing I noticed about this is that Jonah Hex is an asshole. In one scene early in the movie, he has a shootout with a corrupt sheriff. He shoots the crap out of them which is totally understandable. But then for some reason he destroys the sheriff’s office and presumably a few adjacent buildings in the process. Now explosions are nice, but he already killed all the corrupt officials and ‘made’ someone else the new sheriff. Then he blows up his office and ¼ of the town with it. It did not add anything to that scene and my perception of this ‘anti-hero’ was tarnished and didn’t really like him after that.

Megan Fox plays a western prostitute and the “love” interest of Jonah Hex. You already know why she is in this movie but I will tell you the two reasons that this typical hot woman role is included in movies at all. One is because she is hot, and she dresses in outfits to show that off. OK, that is reality, sex sells. And he tough girl acting is pretty good and I have no problem with that. The problem is the second reason. So they can get captured at the end of the movie and fuck everything up for a few minutes and initiate an escape/shoot their way out of jail scene. All the same, it is still entertaining and she does kick some ass in this movie.

Visually this movie is pretty good, the Jonah Hex make-up is pretty good and must have been uncomfortable to wear. The scenes they chose to shoot this movie in are very nice. Some of the daytime scenes just looked very bright and real, and the old fort looked dark and dusty like I imagine it should. There are a few over the top weapons, but that is expected and they are not too crazy. Horse mounted mini-guns and dynamite guns anyone?

All in all, this is might be worth a rent if you haven’t seen it yet and like westerns, or worth buying if you are like me and collect all comic book based movies. I don’t think you will watch it more than once though.

Not only is armed robbery a douche move by a couple of lazy cowards, but I’m not sure they thought this one through. Call of Duty: Black Ops does not go on sale until Tuesday so hopefully when they try and sell them before then they will get busted for it.

Also, if anyone bought one fo these before the release date, prepare to have the cops come and pay you a visit. Here’s a tip from uncle Jason, don’t buy anything from the back of a vehicle or a guy standing in an alley.

When I first got the Kinect, I had it mounted about 4 1/2 feet off the ground and I would stand about 6 1/2 feet away from the camera. I had no issues with the Kinect seeing me or my face and would track me quite easily.

Now today we got a new TV stand that is much lower and the camera is now at a height of 32 inches, and it is still the same distance away from where I stand when I play.

Now my girl friend spent quite awhile playing Kinectimals today just fine. I will write about her thoughts about the Kinect at a later time. I might even try to get her to write out what she thinks. Anyway, she is about 5 foot 4 inches tall so the camera saw her just fine.

Same with my two nieces that came over to try it out as well. The camera could track them both quite easily and they could take turns jumping in and out and the Kinect had not trouble with them either.

Then I tried to play and it would not do anything. I tried moving back and forth, side to side. Nothing. I thought that maybe it got confused with so many people jumping in and out but anyone else could get it to work just fine. I guessed that it did not just stop liking because it is sexist and only like females, so I restarted the xbox to see if that will fix the problem.

Now when you first turn the xbox on and you have the Kinect attached, there is a small box in the bottom corner that shows what the camera can see. You know what I saw in that box? Me. With no head. It could not see my head. Just up to my chin. I am 6 foot 3 inches tall. I am thinking that I am standing too close for someone as tall as myself. I am going to have to do some experiments to see if I can get the camera to re-set and look up a little higher. Either that or I need to stand a little further away.

UPDATE: Yes, you can easily change the height at which the camera works. It will see me clearly, but it will adjust to see my 4 year old. All is good.
