"I Want It All" Music Video Added to NY Television Show

Our video for "I Want It All" has been picked up for broadcast through Live Music Media Television.

Live Music Media TV Channel 115 is available throughout the Long Island and New York City area.On average, the show reaches around 500,000 viewers.

The show also will be available on their website at http://www.livemusicmedia.net/ in late Feb 2008.

Live Music Media has been involved in the music business for over 20 years, having worked with various media, music outlets, promoters, booking agencies, recording companies, video companies, record labels, (including major label contacts), and distribution.

New CTM Music Video Goes Into Production This Month

We've started production for our next music video. The video for "Push Me Down (I'm Alive)" will be conceptual in nature and bring a highly artistic interpretation of the song.

The video has been story boarded and production of the sets started this week. We're excited about the storyline and the theme of the video - it is something very different than the performance video we did for "I Want It All".

'Push Me Down (I'm Alive)' Wins Ourstage Rock & West Region Contest

Out of literally thousands of bands, Crash the Machine won the December Rock contest on OurStage.com The fan-based site is similiar to American Idol Underground in the sense that the fans vote what the top songs are - not the artists.

CTM also came in 1st place across all genres of music for artists located in the Western U.S.!

We are excited to see the music from our new album spread out across the planet - the fan response has been amazing. Thank you fans!!

Thanks to a huge upswing in people playing

Crash The Machine and requesting us to be their friend on MySpace, we hit the #4 position on the Top Indie Artist in California today for powerpop bands!!

Thank you for helping spread the word about us!!

In the last 2 weeks we have seen an increase in plays by almost 20,000 and have had an additional 3,000 people request to be our friend on MySpace.

Crash the Machine Signs Publishing Deal

We are excited to let you know that Crash the Machine signed a 2-song publishing deal with Tonic Song Library (NYC) on May 27th. The A&R lead from Tonic has been interested in the band for some time, and we wrapped up the contractual end of things this past month.

The two songs selected come from our debut album, 4 a.m. Chosen for placement in movies, tv, multimedia/video games and advertisments are the tracks "Love, Peace, Beauty" and "Burn for You."

This is a great moment for us as we have always desired our music to be placed in film, tv and other multimedia venues. Signing this deal with Tonic allows us to have solid and proven representation of our music to see that vision realized. It also creates some outstanding momentum as we begin launching our new album to the entertainment industry later this month!

More great things to come -- thanks for believing in us and supporting our music!

We Finished the Recording!

Well, last night we finished recording the album! We were hoping to get a first rough mix to bring home with us because these songs sound awesome... but Tomas needs about a day per song to mix from the data files in Pro Tools to an audio mix. So we are going to have to sit tight for a week or two for the finished product :-)

It was weird to finish the album so much ahead of schedule. We know we worked our asses off to get to this point, but it went by super fast. We achieved one of our joint life goals with this album! It is surreal to say the least.

So because we had zero time to upload some of the pictures and video from our sessions - I'll have to go through the footage when we get home and create a album or something for you guys to check out.

8 am now and we are packing for the drive back to Sac in a few minutes.

Lead Vocals Done!

We finished the lead vocals last night and it sounds crazy good!! There is some really great production elements going into these songs that kick butt. Can't wait to have you all hear the results.

We pick Craig up from the airport this morning and we start tracking his bass parts today. If it goes well, we could even begin laying the backing vocal parts by tonight!

I love that we are kicking ass on our performances and taking half the time Tomas thought it would take -- without compromising or rushing a single thing! We are working super hard to make this album the best we can and it is paying off.

Recording Session Update

Hey everyone,

Well the recording is underway down here in Hollywood and CTM is kicking some serious ass! The 2 months of intense rehearsal is definitely paying off in the studio. Tomas had set aside 2 days for the drums (Mon and Tues) -- well, Eric pounded out ALL 10 drum tracks in 4 hours on Monday night! Brian kept up the same intensity by starting the guitar tracks on Tuesday night and finished ALL the rhythm guitar tracks (and I mean there are many layers for each song) at around 3 am. They sound tight!

Yesterday we started around 2pm and Brian was done with ALL lead guitar and overtone parts by 7pm... the guitars sound huge with these unbelievable hooks that push the songs forward!

I had just flown in from Sac at 1oam and joined Brian and Eric at the studio yesterday for Brian's lead guitar and overtone session. So now we are basically 2 days ahead of schedule and Craig can't get here until Friday mid-day. So at around 9pm we started busting out my lead vocal tracks -- and not to pat myself on the back too much, but I nailed 6 out of 10 tracks last night! We finally wrapped up around 2:30 am - my voice was too fatigued to keep going.

Today we are going to record the remaining 4 lead vocal tracks and start getting the backing vocals going. Craig arrives tomorrow and he is going to be blown away -- just like I was when I showed up yesterday and heard Brian and Eric's work. I'm telling you people this album is going to be UNBELIEVABLE!

We're taking photos and video along the way so stay tuned for some of those... :-)

Crash the Machine Heads to Hollywood!

Just before the Holidays, Crash the Machine got the break it has been looking for. Through an interesting twist of fate, the band's music ended up in the hands of NY and LA producer, Tomas Costanza. Tomas has been called one of the top 10 up and coming producers in the nation by industry publications. There was an instant connection between the band and Tomas on what we could do together to create an album that would really make its mark with listeners and within the music industry, something that moves the band's recordings forward from Indie status to being on par with a major label release.

In early January the band wrote two new songs and finalized the track selection for the upcoming album. We then completed the pre-production work for the album this past weekend here in Sacramento with Tomas and his assistant producer. Pre-production is the excrutiating process of dialing in the structure of the songs and the various parts so that the recording process can focus on capturing the performance and creating a world class sound.

The band is now rehearsing fanatically the 10 tracks to prepare for the recording sessions. Crash the Machine will be recording our next album in the NoHo arts district of Hollywood this March 4th through 15th in a studio that has played home to many huge artists and bands. This is an unbelievable opportunity and the break we needed -- so needless to say, we are all stoked!

Why is this such a big deal for us?

Tomas Costanza graduated from The High School of the Performing Arts, attended Berklee College of Music and studied with professors from The Juilliard School since the age of 15. In 1996 Tomas founded the rock band DIFFUSER and in 2000 signed a major-label recording contract with Hollywood Records.Their first CD "Injury Loves Melody" spawned a Top 20 Modern Rock hit entitled "KARMA" while the second CD "Making the Grade" broke the Hot 100 chart with a song called "I Wonder". After touring the world with bands such as SIMPLE PLAN, HOOBASTANK, THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS, GOOD CHARLOTTE, THE TOADIES, LIFEHOUSE, SEVENDUST and FALL OUT BOY, the group disbanded in 2004.

Tomas honed his production skills by working alongside acclaimed producers Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Good Charlotte, Eve 6), Mark Trombino (Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World, Finch) and Steve Albini (Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, P.J. Harvey).
He has songwriting credits on soundtracks such as Mission Impossible: 2, Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Summer Catch and Zathura which have collectively sold over 4.2 million copies.

Tomas is also the Founder and Head Producer/Writer of Bozang Incorporated, Sr. V.P of Killingsworth/Beverly Martel Music, songwriter for Seven Peaks Music/Walt Disney Co. and a key lecturer at Five Towns College of Music (Dix Hills, NY) and Nassau Community College (Uniondale, NY).

Crash the Machine Podcast - Episode 2

Hello!

Some of our fans have come up to us after shows or have sent us emails wanting to know what it is like to record in the studio. So being knee-deep in recording our second album right now, we thought it would be cool to give everyone a glimpse into what it is really like.

In this video podcast we show you the first day of recording the new album. We always focus on the drum tracks first so that is why you will see everyone working to get Eric's drums ready to record. To keep this in perspective when you watch this clip, Eric had spent the previous night setting up his drums and getting initial sound levels from Brian for about 4-5 hours. Then we spent the next day finalizing microphone placement and reducing this nasty damn rattle that was occuring when Eric would strike his drum heads -- another 3-4 hours spent disassembling and re-assembling his drum kit to isolate and remove that rattle. Finally we fixed the issue and we were ready to record! This is the type of thing that always seems to happen. No matter if it is a live show or a recording session, Murphy's Law comes into play! Ask any musician and they will tell you. :-)

So enjoy this clip! More moments in the studio are being documented to share with you as we speak.

We get to say and do what we want -- AND we get You involved in our world! :-) Making you part of the journey is a major goal of ours!

Hey there!

If you're a friend of ours on MySpace you're probably wondering why we are posting our blogs here now... well, the blogging capabilities on MySpace are pretty limited and doesn't lend itself easily to podcasting (which we are going to ramp up dramatically through the recording of our second album currently underway!). I want to spend my time making and performing great music with my pals in CTM, not figuring out 4 different html and xml applications to be able to communicate with you all! :-) I mean I love to communicate -- that's what lead singers do! -- but God, it was taking hours of my life sitting at my laptop like some sorry ass computer technician that was hired because no one was left in the building, versus actually knowing what they are doing!

The other reason we went to Blogger.com for our posts is because we have a lot of fans that are not on MySpace and the only way they can comment on posts over there is by becoming a member. Crash the Machine is all about thinking for yourself, so to make our fans be a member of something they don't want to be part of just doesn't feel right.

So here we are - welcome! More posts are coming soon so stick around and join the Crash the Machine journey with us!
