As an important point, color plays a critical role in the world in which we reside in that it can sway thinking, change actions, and cause reactions. It can irritate or soothe your eyes, raise your blood pressure or suppress your appetite. And you may not be conscious of this fact, but somehow color does affect our daily lives.

As in art, a drawing isn't complete without colors. It is what makes a drawing more realistic. In addition, colors can also be a way to test your child's creativeness and imagination which is why crayons are always on the list to buy for your children.

Now, because youngsters are children, it is a natural thing for you to see damaged crayons and nubs your kids leave scattered around all over your home. Every time you see these nubs, the very first thing that comes to your consciousness is to throw them as you think they can no longer serve their purpose which is to give life to art. There is however something that you can do to give life back to these crayons so they might be in a position to bring back the life to your child'sdrawings. Smearing yoghurt around the high chair tray can keep them quiet for quite a while until something else diverts their attention. But they do seem to work out that they can create shapes, textures and patterns with their hands, and by any definition, they are starting to discover art.

Paint is perhaps the first thing parents make available and most parents will start with art materials that won't wreck their no-claims bonus on the contents insurance. So to start with, it's usually some form of wax crayon. The moment children see the first line they have drawn, they're hooked. They will probably find the thick ones easier to draw with at first, but in a surprisingly short time most kids will have progressed onto the narrower crayons, ready for some more detailed pieces of artwork.

After mastering the wax and having understood what they can do to a piece of paper, paints can start to come out under close supervision. Leave any child for a few minutes with a paint-covered brush and you'll almost certainly return to find all kinds of colourful creations and possibly a new kitchen wall colour, so it can't be overstressed how important it is to introduce them to painting at someone else's house. If this is impossible, make sure you know how you'll clear up the mess that will ensue, slowly moving to more civilised rooms as they start to appreciate the destructive power they hold in their hands.

Art shops sell plenty of painting sets designed specifically for kids, and we can probably all remember those we had when we were young. Watercolours are really the only choice for a number of reasons, mainly the cost and the ease of cleaning brushes and tabletops. Of course sprays paints should be totally avoided at all costs. A typical kids' watercolour set will include the paints themselves, a sturdy container that often includes a mixing palette or area. Some even come complete with a brush or brushes. All you'll need is a cup of water and some paper and they're ready to go the moment their muses start to influence them.

Once they feel they can take their two-dimensional inspiration no further, the urge to model will overcome them. This is the start of another round of decision-making for parents. Play clay or modelling clay is the best place to start, and it's such a joy to see all the different beautiful colours turn into dull, nameless hues after a period of mixing, slicing, snowballing and flattening. Next, polymer clays and real clay modelling can be attempted. Although they are probably not for toddllers or pre-school kids, the results are permanent and can be very rewarding for children.

There's a huge choice of wonderful art supplies out there for kids, who will enjoy the opportunity to show some creativity. If they have an aptitude and a love for creativity it will probably stick with them for life.

About the Author

Callum has experimented with children's art materials with his own kids and has found the cheap art supplies from Pullingers to be ideal. A drawing of our family standing in the front yard with our house in the background. Or maybe a self-portrait from my little one. I really love seeing my children's artwork, except when it's on one of my commercial wood doors. If you've got some creative little ones on your hands and find that you can no longer see the wood on your previously custom wood doors because of crayon marking, have no fear--you're definitely not alone. Today, we'll take you step by step to actually removing these marks. Yes, you heard me right. REMOVE crayon from commercial wooden doors.

For finished wood doors, here's what you'll need to do.

You'll need the following items:

- Plastic spoon - Toothpaste - Cloths - Vinegar or rubbing alcohol

Follow these steps:

1. Coat the entire crayon mark with the toothpaste.

3. Take a terry, cotton, or any smooth cloth and moisten it. Wring out and excess water so that it is barely damp.

4. Scrub the toothpaste into the crayon mark with the cloth. Add more toothpaste as necessary and continue to scrub until the mark is gone.

5. Rinse the cloth clean with clean water. Wipe the toothpaste from the door with the cloth. Repeat as necessary until all the toothpaste is removed from the door.

6. Dip a second cloth into white vinegar or rubbing alcohol. Wipe the white vinegar or rubbing alcohol over the crayon wax to remove any remaining wax or oily residue from the wood.

For unfinished wood doors, it's a bit more trickier.

You'll need:

- Plastic scraper (or butter knife) - Work gloves - Fine sandpaper - Soft cloth

Follow these steps:

1. Gently scrape the crayon mark with the plastic scraper or butter knife. Angle the instrument so that you don't actually damage or mar the wood. You should be able to remove most of the crayon this way, but some color will remain.

2. To protect your hands, wear leather or cloth gloves. Hand sand down the crayon marked areas with the fine sand paper (around 150 grit.) Don't press down too hard--just move lightly back and forth over the area with the sandpaper.

3. Wipe off any wood-dust that's left over with a soft, dry cloth. If any crayon color is still visible, simply sand it some more until you can no longer see it. When you've finished, you might notice that the area you've sanded is a bit lighter in color than the remaining areas. Sand down the borders of the sanded area to help blend it in with the rest of the wood.

Hopefully these will work! If not, maybe someone should invent a wood-colored crayon.

About the Author

Door Stop is a company that provides fire rated doors of all kinds - whether it's fire rated wood doors orcommercial wood doors, they have it. A sketch might be the purified idea behind an artwork or a visual representation of the eureka moment, recorded on paper for posterity. As such it may reveal a viewpoint into the artist's thinking and could indeed tell us as much about the completed article as does the work itself, rather like the modern X-ray techniques that expose concealed components in great masterpieces.

Sketching is not necessarily a means to an end. It can be a method of producing finished works, with endless opportunities for expression, ideas and just plain skill practice to develop. A good sketch that surfaced in just a few minutes can hang on the wall alongside any more complex work. After all, a pleasing drawing can often be the most simplistic possible arrangement â€" and might happen without you really thinking (or at the subconscious level, as the professionals would say).

Art supplies stores will have all you need to get your drawing and sketching started. But at the most basic level, you'll need some pencils and paper. Here's a very quick guide to the options.

A sketching session can become a whirlwind of bright ideas and experiments, so a pad to keep the ideas in one place is a good idea to start with. A4 is the minimum, but an A3 plain pad will allow your ideas fo flow more readily and give you space to expand upon your ideas. The quality of the paper itself is also key. Thin paper may be cheaper but brings with it all kinds of problems like transparency and a tendency to easily damage. At the upper end of the quality scale the main consideration is the price. If you're only sketching rough ideas then high-end paper may be unnecessary Like most things in life, there's a happy medium and only you will know which suits your work best. If your sketches are the end product, go for better paper. If they are just throwaway ideas, go cheap and cheerful.

Finally there are the pencils. Although you can sketch in charcoal, ink or crayon, pencils provide the option of correction or amendment. For many artists this is key. Pencils also allow a vast range of hardness, from very hard leads to broader, softer versions. The range available in the UK goes from 9H (hardest) to 9B (blackest and softest) with HB and F (fine point) in the centre. Harder pencils are great for intricate work or fine lines; softer pencils give a lot more texture and shadow to a sketch, and can be rubbed and smeared with the hand or other materials to produce particular outcomes.

So get started with your sketching or drawing you really do just need a piece of paper and a simple pencil. It's a cheap and very easy way to express yourself.

About the Author

Callum has worked using various drawing and sketching supplies and has found the art supplies from Pullingers to be a source of high quality choices. Kids also develop control for using their hands and fingers. Kids love to draw and color with crayons. These crayons are of various types and shapes to suit the kids and provide them with a variety of colorful techniques. Very small children start scribbling on anything and they also try to eat the crayons. The parents should be alert and keep an eye on their children, as crayons maybe toxic.

A child starts making strokes on a paper by the age of two years or so. He or she, holds the crayon like a knife and this helps in the motor development of the child. Later, they go on to making various shapes like circular motions, up and down and cross strokes. The child will perfect the art of drawing gradually by using the crayons. Here, they are still in the learning phase and as a proverb rightly states, 'practice makes perfect' comes into picture.

When a child turns 3, they generally decide on which hand is suitable to draw and whether they are left handed or a right handed sort of comes naturally. Children's other actions also determine their use of hands. Like, when he or she holds a pencil or a paint brush, they start using their fingers. And at this stage, a child starts making various different formations such as a tree, a house and their family with the help of crayons. The child learns to differentiate various colors also with the help of crayons.

Painting and drawing are special times for a child to develop creativity and are similar to reading. This is like a developmental skill for the child that they will be using in their school lives and all their life ahead of them. Drawing, sketching and painting are certain professions that they can pursue later on. These great learning skills, can prove beneficial for a child in their development and as such plays a crucial roles, should they decide to take up a profession such as a professional painter or a cartoonist. They can also pursue a career as a web designer specializing in 3D and 2D software.

There are websites which parents can use to encourage their children to pursue drawing and painting. A kid can go through a range of games and painting techniques too on such websites. They can color images in their painting books with their crayons and present them as gifts. There are lots of crayon drawing competitions either in schools or sponsorship events. I would see my neighbor full of scars because of toy-related incidents and I realized how important it is to check the product and know its hazard.

Key Points To Remember When Using The Crayola Crayon Maker:

-Never ever leave your child alone. He/she might get brunt.

-Always unplug after use.

-Be sure to have enough crayons to melt.

-Crayons may interest your child. Look out! She might eat it.

-Clean it from time to time.

-Play with your child, be close with them.

Click
here to submit your site to the search engines for free!

http://www.submitdomainname.com

THE CRAYOLA CRAYON MAKER

Article Directory - Free Article Submission For Authors, Free Content for Publishers!

Using The Crayola Crayon Maker

The first step in using the crayon maker is gathering up crayons to melt down. The maker comes with eight starter crayons, but kids can use any crayons they wish as long as they remove the labels first. However, Crayola recommends sticking with Crayola brand. They take their crayons and lay them end to end in the melt tray. It’s important not to stack up the crayon pieces, or the trays may overflow.

Once the crayon pieces are in place, the next step is to turn the machine on and set the Pour Control knob to “Melting Position”. This locks the lid so that children do not get burned. Then start the timer.

When the wax is melted, it’s time to turn the Pour Control knob to the left so the wax drips into the molds. Children can watch this happen by looking through the lid’s clear plastic, but it's best if an adult takes care of the actual pouring.

When the wax is dry and solid, kids can open the lid and remove their new crayons. The lid will not unlock until the machine is cool and the trays are safe to touch. The crayons come out ready for use, complete with a pointed tip. It's best to check that they are completely solid before pulling them out of the tray. The entire crayon-making process takes about 30 minutes.

Click
here to submit your site to the search engines for free!

http://www.submitdomainname.com

USING THE CRAYOLA CRAYON MAKER

Article Directory - Free Article Submission For Authors, Free Content for Publishers!

The Crayola Crayon Maker

The idea for crayola crayon maker is great. It is a great educational toy to explain the melting point of solids and how certain products like crayons are made. Good use for your

broken crayon pieces. It takes a lot of adult assistance and patience to make useable crayons. To get it right using crayola crayon maker, you have to put in the exact amount of crayon -too little and it crumbles, too much of it and it spills into the other molds and messes up the colors. The molds have to be perfectly pushed shut or it will leak out. The melted wax has to be pored slowly or air bubbles will form in the crayons.

You and your child have to wait for the light bulb to melt the wax before you can pour it in the molds. You have to wait for the unit to cool down before the cover will unlock, there is a built in safety "feature" to prevent burning. After the cover will finally lift you can remove the molds, but you have to wait for them to completely cool or the crayons will not retain their shape if you put them in the freezer will really help. By the time the cover lifts the remaining wax in the metal trays of which there is a lot because not all of it will pore out, it will be solid and you cannot easily wipe it out - it must be scraped out or it will taint the color of your next creation. Crayola crayon maker product is so great.

Crayola crayon maker comes assembled, with the exception of putting a few simple things together. It is very simple. You will have it fully ready to operate in minutes. It is recommended a parental supervision because the maker does get warm as it melts the crayons. No batteries are needed, but it does need a light bulb. Crayola crayon maker produces hours of endless fun. You can make homemade crayons as gifts for others if you wish. The design of crayola crayon maker from a safety standpoint is very good.

Usability and the fun of the finished product leave a bit to be desired. The 20 minute timer is mechanical and can't be circumvented. Good for avoiding hot wax on the little fingers. It doesn’t take a lot of crayons to make new ones because these are little stubbier. To clean up crayola crayon maker is pretty easy if you do it right away. All in all, I think it's a good idea. For the safety-conscious crayon melter, you could achieve some pretty decent results with a mini muffin tin in an Easy Bake oven at a reasonable, and more versatile. Finally there is also a way to "reduce, reuse and recycle" those old crayon parts to make homemade crayons using crayola crayon maker.

Click
here to submit your site to the search engines for free!

http://www.submitdomainname.com

USING THE CRAYOLA CRAYON MAKER

Article Directory - Free Article Submission For Authors, Free Content for Publishers!
