Phew time flies when you are having fun! Sorry followers if you have been missing my posts lately, but let's be all like "yay" because it's October and Halloween is only 30 days away. So time to get planning those costumes and more importantly - "Halloween Make up!"

Let's see where to begin? I believe even the most novice of makeup lovers (like myself) can apply makeup, even if it takes us a little longer than the experts. All you need is a little (sometimes a lot) of patience, some makeup and a youtube tutorial.

There fantastic and inspiring makeup artists out there that share their knowledge via their videos and once you find one you like just subscribe and practise.

Aloe Vera Is Magical

Mucho apologies my dear beauty fiends (yes it's meant to say fiends not friends) I haven't been giving much of my dedicated time to this site as I would like to but I do have some things to share.

You may have heard people saying that the Aloe Vera plant is great for healing skin, dry skin, sunburn and so on. But, until you have tried it you may aswell have not been listening.

If you live in sunny climes you may be familiar with the Aloe Vera plant, if not this is what it looks like....

You will notice that the leaves are actually spiky, but don't let that put you off! If you are lucky enough to get your hands on one, I advise you to cut a leaf from the underside of the plant so not to damage the rest of the plant. Be careful not to spike your hands, take a knife and just slightly peel the spikes off the edges of the leaf to make it smooth.

Wash the leaf to make sure there are no bugs hanging around, and make another cut on the edge where you cut it from the plant. This will be the juiciest edge. The reason I needed one the other day is because my lips where chapped beyond chapped. Not even The Body Shop's Vitamin E Lip Balm could help me, as the sides of my mouth had cracked too.

So I got the leaf and squeezed some aloe vera juice out, it looks a lot like clear lipgloss, so if you do put it on your lips they won't be green or anything. The improvement was so good. I kept the leaf in a food bag in my fridge so the leaf would be kept cool. I applied it as often as I could in the house and right before bed. You can also strip the leaf and slap it right on your sunburn.

If you don't have any Aloe Vera growing near you, there are always aloe based treatments, it's even in Shampoo. I found this great site where people in the US can get free Aloe Vera samples plus they have loads of info on there including my fave, that Cleopatra is said to have used it on her face! Well if it is good enough for an Egyptian Queen, then it's good enough for me. :)

Pink Streaks In Blonde Hair - The Saga

It must be around a year ago now that I had a big pink streak in my hair. Being a blonde my hairdressers have always warned me against having a pink put into my hair as it would bleed. But, that didn't stop me. Before I start with my little story about the journey to pink hair please do not copy anything I have done. There I said it. So if you wreck your hair it's not my fault :)

One day when I used to work as a hotel entertainer I was lets say a bit more than bored as I smiled a cheese smile and handed out bingo pens. My mind drifted as I saw the best pink pen you have ever seen, a lady was testing it out on a piece of paper and it was like that scene out of Wayne's World. Oh yes it will be mine.

So that night I took said bingo pen home and streaked a big chunk of my hair with it. When I first did it, the colour was really strong, although I was worried it would discolour the rest of my hair....But it didn't hurray! You know I was really happy with that pink streak I may even do it again.

After that followed me having the violet streaks in my hair last summer which I got done professionally and totally loved until it all bled when I washed it. Then I had to have peroxide put in my hair and it's been a nightmare ever since. My hair has felt so damaged and split...it doesn't agree with bleaches.

So at the end of it a cheap bingo pen gave me the look I wanted! There are other ways to achieve pink on blonde but I'm sticking to my own methods in future :)

Glitter Eyeliner - It's a must have for your makeup bag!

I have been wearing Avon's Silver Glitter Eyeliner for a while now and it certainly dominated my makeup bag in 2008.
I personally don't think it is just for parties or nights out, glitter liner can make you have that extra sparkle in your eye when you are feeling down or just want to have a quirkier makeup look that day.

There are a few different ways to wear glitter eyeliner and you can get hold of it cheap, the one above is only GBP 1.95/US $2.85 from ebay. Yesterday I bought a pinky glitter eyliner and I also already have a blue/green one.

So as I was saying there are a few ways to wear it:

*You could try it on a nude eye and just sweep it over your top lash line, mascara and done.
*Colour the whole of the eyelid with desired eyeshadow colour, then cover the eyelid with the glitter for a more party look.
*Just do underneath the bottom lash line for a bit of sparkle
*With eyeshadow on the whole lid and then just line the top lashes.

The best way is to experiment and see what works for you, but I do wear it nearly everyday-mainly with me being a glasses wearer and I like my eyes to stand out for the right reasons.

Hoping you all are having a great time and haven't missed me too much. Don't worry I have an excuse as to why I haven't updated everyday. You see it's my computer chair's fault, well it wasn't really a computer chair, more of a wooden chair which was so uncomfortable that it made me think I would rather be doing better things than sitting at my computer for hours on end.

But ho ho ho, Santa came up trumps and bought me a proper office chair in pink!!! It has wheels and everything! So more updates to come on here now, as my behind is very happy sitting in this chair for hours on end lol.

I bought this a little while ago (when I had money) although it wasn't expensive at all, just now the money isn't in my purse to be buying small bits and bobs from the Essence Counter everyday.

Enough of the moaning what does this do?
Well you know when you get yellowing nails? I do from having strange colour nail polish on. You pop this little baby on your nails just like you would a base coat and they go an illuminous white.

It gives shine too so you don't need a separate clear coat. This is great if you want to go au natural for a bit but want your nails to look healthy at the same time.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Lip Balm

Chapped Lips eugh! Lip Balm is something we need all year round to protect us from the elements and I have searched high and low to find the best lip balm out there.

I do believe it is The Body Shop's Vitamin E Lip Care Balm, which is also SPF 15. I had the worst dry lips when we were having very hot weather and I had tried other balms only to have them peel my skin right off.

The Vitamin E in the balm protects the lips and makes them smooth due to the beeswax and olive oil ingredients. I use it as soon as I wake up, a gazillion times in the day and before I go to sleep and the texture of my lips has improved.

I am a little bit of a lip gloss addict but there is nothing worse than putting gloss onto dry, rough lips. It doesn't look nice. So to prepare mine I use this one all the time and even my boyfriend pinches it!
