• Minnie & Daisy’s Flower Shower (All-New, Never-Before-Seen) - The botanical highlight of the year is in trouble, unless Minnie and Daisy can get their flowers to bloom! Together, they board the glove balloon to help coax the clouds to sprinkle much needed rain.
• Daisy’s Dance -Clap your hands and tap your feet! Join Daisy, as she gets ready for one of the most important events of her life––performing in the big talent show!
• Daisy’s Pet Project – The Pet Parade is almost here and Daisy needs to find the perfect animal for which she can love and care. But it’s not as easy as she thinks and soon she has three new friends: an elephant named Bubbles, a giraffe called Longfellow and a bunny called Captain Jumps-a-lot!
• Minnie’s Rainbow – After a brightly colored rainbow appears over the clubhouse, Minnie searches for the pot of gold that’s supposed to be at its end. Along the way, she meets a leprechaun and discovers that not all treasure turns out to be as she expected!
• Minnie’s Birthday – Today is Minnie’s birthday, but the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse friends need to set up her birthday party.

Baybah is such a huge fan of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse I had a feeling he would love watching I Heart Minnie, and he did!! I think his favorite episode was Minnie’s Birthday! He loved watching as Mickey and the gang prepared for a surprise party for Minnie. Were they able to keep the party a surprise?!  You will have to watch the movie to find out!

I love how I Heart Minnie also came as a digital copy.  This is perfect so Baybah can watch this movie when we are on the go.   To install, just download the digital copy on your computer and then your little one can watch it on your computer or iphone!  This was perfect for when we went out to eat the other night, and Baybah was started to get restless.  We were able to finish and enjoy our meal, and Baybah got to watch one of his favorite shows!

I feel the need to share some awesome news we saw in the preview as well! The makers of Cars are going to bring us Planes in 2013!  How exciting is that?!  I know we cannot wait to see it!

This past weekend we went to First Friday in Las Vegas with Emily from Family and Life in Las Vegas and her family.  It is an amazing event in the Arts District Downtown the first Friday of each month.  It is filled with art, music, food, and fun!  More on First Friday later this week!  While we were there Emily pointed out this sign taped to the side of a light pole to me.  I could not help but think of my journey as a Mamavation Mom, and becoming a fit and healthy mom.   I am proud of myself for what I have accomplished so far and am ready to continue the journey.  I AM STRONG!

One of my favorite Disney movies of all time is back, the classic love story of Lady and the Tramp.   This Disney Classic releases from the Disney Vault for the first time ever on Blu-ray on February seventh.  This  heartwarming  tale  now  charms  a  new  generation  of  families  and  fans with its beautiful animation, unforgettable songs, and one of the greatest love stories of all time.

The Lady and the Tramp Diamond Edition blue-ray features three never before seen deleted scenes, and a never recorded song I’m Free as the Breeze!  I can’t wait to share the Lady and the Tramp with Baybah.  I know he will love it!

To celebrate the release of the Lady and the Tramp on Blu-ray and DVD, Disney has shared with us fun activities including coloring sheets, Valentine’s Day Cards, recipes, and more!

During my trip to the Kenmore Blogger Summit last month I got to meet Chef Suzy Singh from the 2nd season of MasterChef.   She shared with us some great slow cooker tips and an amazing recipe for Kitchari.  Chef Suzy Singh also gave us tips for our slow cooker challenge.  I will share more on that in another post!  So without further ado, here is Chef Suzy Singh’s slow cooker tips and Kitchari Recipe.

Slow Cooker Tip:

• To clean your slow cooker first wipe it with distilled vinegar and let it sit for a couple of minutes.  Then clean it with hot sudsy water.
• If you set a slow cooker on low it will take 2 times as long to cook something then when it is on high.
• When cooking meat in your slow cooker if it is cooked on low for 8 hours, the meat will slice, if cooked for 10 hours it will shred.
• The temperature range in you slow cooker is 160F on warm and 200F on high.
• If you are using regular rice, put it in your slow cooker at the beginning of your cook time.  If you are using 30 minute rice, add it during the last 2 hours.
• Try not to add too much water when using a slow cooker.  The steam from your meal will make enough juice.
• Do not stir your meal.  Taking the lid off of your slow cooker  will release all of the valuable steam and flavors.  Just fix it and forget it!

Kitchari Slow Cooker Recipe:

2 tsp of mustard oil
1 onion chopped
1 plum tomato diced (use heirloom)
2 c. yellow split peas (or Mug Dal)
1 T of garlic ginger paste or an entire smashed garlic clove
2 c. rice
4 c. water
2 T fennel, cumin, corriandor and cinnamon
1 T tumeric
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper or to taste
Serrano pepper to taste

Put all of your ingredients in your Kenmore Slow Cooker, stir gently and cook on low for 8 hours.  Suzy recommends serving with plain yogurt, pickled carrots, and cilantro.

Sitting here waiting at the airport to head home, I thought I would share with you a fun and healthy recipe that we learned yesterday at the Kenmore Blogger Summit.  Cassie from Green Grocer Chicago shared with us one of her favorite smoothie recipes, You Make Me a Better Person.  Who doesn’t want to drink a smoothie that does that?  I am excited to get the ingredients so I can make it at home myself!  This smoothie is yummy and good for you!

You Make Me a Better Person Smoothie Recipe

1/2 cup Hemp Milk
Splash of water
1 T Chia Seeds
1/2 T of Maca Powder
1/2 c. organic rasperries *
1/2 c. organic strawberries *
Tangelo (hybrid of a tangerine and grapefruit)
4 leaves of Kale
Fresh mint to taste

Blend together in your Kenmore Elite Blender, and you have a super healthy smoothie that will make you feel great!

Cassie said to buy berries organic whenever possible because berries are high on the dirty dozen list of foods that have high pesticide residue.  Here is a list of the fruits and vegetables that can are known as the Dirty Dozen. Cassie also told us that the unique ingredients can also be purchased from Amazon.

PASCAL and MAXIMUS couldn't be happier to take part in RAPUNZEL and FLYNN'S spectacular wedding.

I do not know what I am more excited about seeing Beauty and the Beast for the first time in 3D or seeing the Tangled Ever After short that plays before Beauty and the Beast!  Tangled Ever After and  Beauty and the Beast make a perfect fit by combining new and classic Disney into one movie going experience. We cannot wait to see both!

Tangled Ever After picks up where Tangled left off. The Kingdom is in a festive mood as everyone gathers for the royal wedding of Rapunzel and Flynn. However, when Pascal and Maximus, as flower chameleon and ring bearer, respectively, lose the gold bands, a frenzied search and recovery mission gets underway.  As the desperate duo tries to find the rings before anyone discovers that they’re missing, they leave behind a trail of comical chaos that includes flying lanterns, a flock of doves, a wine barrel barricade and a very sticky finale. Will Maximus and Pascal save the day and make it to the church in time?  And will they ever get Flynn’s nose right?

PASCAL and MAXIMUS return as proud ring bearers at the spectacular wedding of Rapunzel and Flynn.

A couple of weeks ago, I shared with you our amazing time at Kidville Tivoli Village.  We had a chance to preview Kidville’s new Rockin’ Railroad class and had a blast.   In case you missed it, Rockin’ Railroad is a rockin’ musical adventure that you will not want to miss! Each week Rockin’ Railroad features four live musicians and a musical performance that is geared toward children newborn all the way up to six years old. Last week I shared with you that one of my goals is to become a fit and healthy mom. I want to eat healthy and inspire my little guy to do the same. Who wouldn’t want to eat these fun snacks?! Next week I am going to share some Healthy Snack Ideas for Moms!
 
 

I have been wanting to apply to a Mamavation campaign for several campaigns now but something inside stopped me.  I guess I was not ready.  Well now I am! No more excuses and no more saying I will start tomorrow.     I am ready to be a fit and healthy mom and I know that Mamavation will give me the swift kick in the butt I need to help get me started!

If you are not familiar with Mamavation, it was created by Leah Segedie a mom that fought her own battle with weight and won! Mamavation along with her forum at Bookieboo make an amazing and supportive community for women who are and want to be fit and healthy.  Mamavation Moms is a 7 week healthy eating and exercise program to get moms be the moms they want to be.  They are given the support and tools they need to help transform their mind and body for good, and that is why I need their help!!  I am participating in their Mamavation 2 week challenge to get the ball rolling in the right direction. Yo! Ho! Matties! I am very excited to announce to you that Peter Pan will make his first ever appearance on Jake and the Neverland Pirates! On Monday, February 13 Disney Channel will debut the series’ first-ever primetime special, which also marks the first time that Peter Pan himself will actually appear in the series! We can’t wait to watch!!

Then, on Monday, February 20, Disney Junior will have a special week of Jake and the Never Land Pirates premieres. Season two will debut with new episodes airing daily at 8:30 a.m., ET/PT throughout the week. Sharon Osbourne, Josh Duhamel, Jane Kaczmarek and Tiffani Thiessen star in recurring roles, and some notable voices including David Arquette, Tori Spelling, Lisa Loeb, Adam West and Ariel Winter will be joining the series.

Make sure to also check out DisneyJunior.com/PeterPan on Monday, February 6, because they will feature “Jake’s Countdown to Peter Pan.” At this time DisneyJunior.com/PeterPan will also debut a new two-part game, “Shadow Shenanigans,” where players can take on the role of Peter Pan’s shadow to try to wake the sleeping Jolly Roger crew and then play a shadow matching game.

Mattel’s most popular family game Apples to Apples goes digital!  THQ Inc. and Mattel bring families everywhere the ability to experience Apples to Apples the game of hilarious comparisons, on their XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3.   The game features single-player, local and online modes for up to six players.  Apples to Apples also comes packed with customizable play modes, backgrounds, and Golden Apple cards that can add surprising twists to the game!  Players can also choose between 16 animated avatars like Pirate Apple, Space Apple and Ballerina Apple.

The digital version is much like the card game.  One player is the judge and selects a green card to find a descriptive word like the word Swift in the picture above.    The other players have red cards and will select a word that they think the judge thinks most resembles the word on the  green card.  The words on the red cards are random from places to famous people.

Once everyone has selected their red card, the judge will pick the red card that they think most resembles their word on the green card.  That is what makes this game so fun because the correct answer is completely subjective.  Believe me, you will be laughing about some of the words and what people pick!

We played the game this way locally because we had the minimum of 3 players and remotes.  You can also play it this way while using XBox live with up to 6 players.  Just send them an invitation to your game, or opponents can be found for you online.

Unlike the original card game, there is also a way to play Apples to Apples as a single player, although it was my least favorite way to play.  When you play single player, the computer gives you a green card, then you select the word on the red card that you think best matches.  Then quickly, before time runs out, spell out the word on the grid in the center.  If it is correct, you move on.  If it is not, you loose time and quickly pick a new word.   There were times that I had absolutely no idea why the computer would pick that word, but looking at how the Apple was dressed does help give you a clue.  Playing this way was fun, but I think the game is best played with a group of your friends or family.

Apples to Apples is available for download on XBox Live Arcarde for 800 Microsoft Points, Playstation 3 for $9.99, and will soon be available on Facebook and mobile devices.

If you do not know by now, I am a Pinterest fanatic. It is my happy place. The place I look when I need inspiration, eye candy, or just as a place to browse. It is a place I like to go when I should be getting work done, cleaning the house, or I do not know, organizing the pantry. Okay, so I am sure you get it by now. Little did I know this place of inspiration was going to save the day!

You might also know that my little man is quite the artist.  He loves to draw everywhere, and I mean everywhere.  At first I embraced it and thought it was cute, but then the unthinkable happened, he colored on my couch with a blue (& green) crayon.  When I saw this I was not thinking happy thoughts of Harold and the Purple Crayon, I was thinking quite the opposite.  I figured there was nothing we could do, and I was just going to have to deal with it until we got a new couch.  Gives it character, right?

I had moved on from the blue crayon incident and accepted it. Until one day I found a glimmer of hope on you guessed it, Pinterest.  While browsing I found a way to clean dirt off of a microfiber couch using rubbing alcohol.   Would this work with crayon too?    Could this be the answer to my dreams?  I decided to give it a shot.  There is no way it could not get any worse.

1. I sprayed it with a light mist of rubbing alcohol just to get it damp.
2. Scrubbed it with a new sponge.
3. Let it dry. Completely.
4. Brushed it with a new scrubbing brush to get the microfiber soft again.

And . . .

Voila!  It works on crayon too!  Thank you Pinterest! Without you I would have never found a way to save my couch! And thank you  ChrisandRobinsNest for the great idea!

Baybah’s favorite part of the Rockin’ Railroad program would have to be the bubbles.  You cannot get him to think of anything else when he sees them!!  He and the other kids loved trying to catch them, pop them, and dance on them.  There was not a kid or parent in the room that did not have a giant smile on their face.  Rockin’ Railroad is a rockin’ musical adventure that you will not want to miss!
