Mr. Blackwell has named “Posh Spice” Victoria Beckham the Number 1 worst dressed celebrity on his 48th annual Worst Dressed List.

“Forget the fashion spice, wearing a skirt would suffice! In one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty Posh can really wreck-em,”

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse landed in second place for her beehive hairdo and “tacky polka-dots.” Mary-Kate Olsen was named the 3rd worst dressed celebrity. Blackwell described her as a “tattered toothpick – trapped in a hurricane.” Pop singer Fergie also made the list for her “couture chaos.”

Rounding out the top 10 is Kelly Clarkson, Eva Green, Avril Lavigne, Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, and Alison Arngrim.

Blackwell showed mercy to troubled singer Britney Spears, who has previously appeared on the list several times. “I felt it was inappropriate at this time to make a comment, when her personal live is in such upheaval. I hope 2008 is a better year for her,” he said.

Philip Agee - EX CIA Agent Dead in Cuba

HAVANA (AP) — Former CIA agent Philip Agee, a critic of U.S. foreign policy who infuriated American intelligence officials by naming purported agency operatives in a 1975 book, has died, state media reported Wednesday. He was 72.

Agee quit the CIA in 1969 after 12 years working mostly in Latin America at a time when leftist movements were gaining prominence and sympathizers. His 1975 book "Inside the Company: CIA Diary," cited alleged CIA misdeeds against leftists in the region and included a 22-page list of purported agency operatives.

Granma, Cuba's Communist Party newspaper, said Agee died Monday night and described him as "a loyal friend of Cuba and fervent defender of the peoples' fight for a better world."

Bernie Dwyer, a journalist with state-run Radio Havana, said in a Tuesday message posted to a Cuba e-mail group that Agee's wife called him to say he had died after ulcer surgery in a hospital where he has he been since Dec. 15.

"He had several operations for perforated ulcers and didn't survive all the surgery," Dwyer wrote, adding that Agee was cremated Tuesday and that friends planned a memorial ceremony for him Sunday at his Havana apartment.

Agee's U.S. passport was revoked in 1979. U.S. officials said he had threatened national security. After years of living in Hamburg, Germany — occasionally underground, fearing CIA retribution — Agee moved to Havana to open a travel Web site.

The site, cubalinda.com, is designed to bring U.S. tourists to Cuba, offering package tours and other help that is largely off-limits to Americans because of the U.S. trade embargo. Agee opened the site in 2000 with European investors and a state-run travel agent as his partners.

There was no mention of Agee's death on the site Wednesday.

The author of several other books besides "Inside the Company," one of Agee's last essays was published in Granma International newspaper in 2003 and came shortly after a Cuban government crackdown led to the arrest of 75 leading dissidents and political activists.

"To think that the dissidents were creating an independent, free civil society is absurd, for they were funded and controlled by a hostile foreign power and to that degree, which was total, they were not free or independent in the least," he wrote.

Agee has been accused of receiving up to $1 million in payments from the Cuban intelligence service. He denied the accusations, which were first made by a high-ranking Cuban intelligence officer and defector in a 1992 report.

Barbara Bush, the wife of former President George H.W. Bush — himself a one-time CIA chief — in her autobiography accused Agee's book of exposing a CIA station chief, Richard S. Welch, who was later killed by leftist terrorists in Athens in 1975. Agee, who denied any involvement in the killing, sued her for $4 million for defamation, and she revised the book to settle the case.

Agee's actions in the 1970s inspired a law criminalizing the exposure of covert U.S. operatives.

But in 2003, he drew a distinction between what he did and the exposure of CIA officer Valerie Plame, the wife of former Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, a prominent critic of President Bush's Iraq policy.

"This is entirely different than what I was doing in the 1970s," Agee said. "This is purely dirty politics in my opinion."

Agee said that in his case, he disclosed the identities of his former CIA colleagues to "weaken the instrument for carrying out the policy of supporting military dictatorships" in Greece, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil.

Those regimes "were supported by the CIA and the human cost was immense: torture, executions, death squads," he said.

I 4 accident - Massive Pile-Up - 1 Killed

At least 50 cars slammed into a pileup on both directions of Interstate 4 in Polk County early this morning, leaving three people dead and dozens more injured.

The chain-reaction crash is expected to keep both lanes of the highway shut down between U.S. Highway 27 and State Road 570 well into the afternoon, as agencies work to find and rescue more victims and investigate just what happened.

Whether dense smoke and fog played a role in the first crash at about 4:30 a.m. remains unclear. Florida Highway Patrol Major Tom Knight said that troopers were patrolling the area freely and conditions "weren't that bad."

However, the National Weather Service in Melbourne this morning issued a special weather report warning commuters that visibility in the Polk County area would be down to zero because of smoke from brush fires and fog.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said one his deputies was among the first on the scene and described the scene as "a wall" of smoke and fog. The deputy's car was struck as he responded but, injured, he worked to try to clear the scene.

"He said, 'I could still hear metal grinding as cars went into each other. I did all that I could but I watched a man burn to death today,'" Judd said of the deputy, who was not identified.

By 10:15 a.m., another deputy had handed his cell phone to a severely injured man trapped in his car under a truck. The man was able to call his wife as crews worked to free him, Judd said.

Knight confirmed three people died at the scene of the pileup. Six other people were taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, and four more were expected, said hospital spokeswoman Cindy Sternlicht.

All of those patients were flown with serious injuries. The hospital has enacted their mass casualty plan and is prepared to handle more patients.

At least one other trauma patient was flown to Tampa, Judd said. Another two were flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center, according to Central Florida News 13.

"We have had a very, very tense situation out here," he said.

Drivers looking for alternate routes can use Deen Still Road, which connects to U.S. Highway 27 about a mile north of I-4. Drivers can head east on Deen Still Road as it parallels the interstate. Deen Still connects to Rockridge Road where drivers should head south until it connects to U.S. Highway 98, which will lead back to I-4.

The official detour route is U.S. Highway 92, which runs through the county south of the interstate.

Just before 10 a.m., traffic was moving in both directions on County Road 54, while rescue crews continued to work the scene on the interstate.

Several agencies responded to the crash to assist Polk County and FHP crews. Orange County Fire Rescue alone has sent a specialized hazardous-material unit, five rescue units, an EMS captain, battalion chief and assistant chief.

But Knight said visibility was not restored in the area until about 10 a.m., allowing crews to continue searching for victims and investigating the potential causes.

Six FHP homicide investigators are working the scene and have determined that the pileup involves between 5 and 10 separate crashes, Knight said.

"Everything is very preliminary at this time," Knight said at about 10:15 a.m.

Also at that time, deputies were trying to make sure injured patients were able to contact loved ones from the scene, Judd said. The sheriff's office also provided a chaplain and victim advocate, to work with family members.

Motorists who were not injured were taken to a sheriff's district station and given food and drinks while they were being interviewed, he added.

Dakar Rally Cancelled For First Time Over Security Fears

LISBON (AFP) — This year's Dakar Rally has been cancelled over security concerns, in particular direct "terrorist" threats to the race, organisers announced on Friday.

The race had been due to start in Lisbon on Saturday but the murder of four French tourists in Mauritania on December 24 led to the French government advising against any travel to the country.

Nine of the rally's stages were due to pass through Mauritania en route for Dakar and the scheduled finish on January 20.

"Following several consultations with the French government - in particular the ministry of foreign affairs - and taking into account its firm recommendations, the organisers of the Dakar have taken the decision to cancel the 2008 edition of the rally scheduled for January 5-20 between Lisbon and the Senegalese capital," the Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) said in a statement.

The ASO said there had been "direct threats against the race issued by terrorist groups."

It was the first time in its 30-year history that the controversial race has failed to go ahead and will cast doubts over future editions.

Britney Spears, son rushed from her home in ambulance

Pop starlet and troubled tabloid favorite Britney Spears, and her one-year-old son, were taken from her home by paramedics Friday, US media reported, after police had been called to resolve a custody dispute.

Celebrity watcher website TMZ.com said Spears had been taken to a hospital for a "medical hold," which it described as a mental evaluation, and drug testing.

Police "found her earlier this evening at her home under the influence of an 'unknown substance'," after being called when she returned her two young sons to their father, TMZ reported.

After a three-hour stand-off, Spears handed over the children, aged two and one, and was wheeled into an ambulance. Television footage showed Spears being carried on a gurney.

TMZ and Us Weekly reported that Spears's youngest son, Jayden Federline, was also taken to the hospital in an ambulance, but carried inside by a police office.

Spears's on-going custody battle with her former husband, Kevin Federline, has been the source of lurid headlines, spiking after a judge limited her access to her children in October after he said she was a "habitual, frequent, and continuous" user of "controlled substances and alcohol."

On Thursday, Spears began a court-ordered deposition in the custody case after missing several appointments to do so, but appeared for the questioning by Federline's lawyer so late that it lasted only 13 minutes, Us Weekly reported.

Only the day before, her lawyer Sorrell Trope requested to leave her case, citing "a breakdown in communications" between his firm and Spears "making further representation of her interests impossible." Trope is Spears's third lawyer since September.
