It’s Christmas season and yet finals is in 2 weeks time and I have 2 killer test tomorrow and I considered blogging as an option at this hour. FML

Not many updates in this blog, life has taken me to another level where I already gotten over the ‘xiaxue’ wannabe phase. No more blonde hair, no more camwhore pictures (even though i still do take pictures of myself but I rarely posted it on facebook nor twitter)… does that mean I’ve matured?

Maybe so…

Life is moving forward, Ciean delivered baby Ben and we share the same birthdate (baby Ben and I that is)…

I know you couldn’t resist going awww…

I am now a 25 year old human being that still struggling to complete her engineering degree and still getting allowance from her parents because I’m still dirt poor. (Why la, me blog doesn’t make me famous and give me money! )

Ed gave me something that I’ve guess correctly again. That man lost his ability to surprise me. Though the present is exactly what I wanted so I'm still happy.

Chisukihana entered a local university, Wewen is about to buy her 1st car without our parents help, Noi probably will be getting engaged sometime next year… Everybody is moving forward…

Damn… I sounded so emo… and listening to sad sounding music makes me even more emo.

A tribute for Dinky

28 July 2011 is one of the saddest day in my life. One of my puppies died that day.

I am still mourning over her… I miss her and I still can’t believe that she’s dead. She’s only been with us for 3 months and already she’s gone.

Her sudden death shocked our family and I blame myself for not realizing that she was sick before it was too late. Lesson learned and I sworn never to neglect my pups again.

So here’s a little pictorial tribute for her.

Leaving Taman Sepanggar

   Taman Sepanggar, the oldest housing area located at Sepanggar Bay. Used to be a low class housing area for people who couldn’t afford proper house. The design was dull, stacks of terrace houses painted white with red roof. All the houses once look alike until their owners discover renovation and change the plain looking house into somewhat decent. Still a renovated house stand out oddly in a simple neighborhood like that. But it was home to the people living there and ours for 15 years.

I was ten when we moved there and was upset that I have to move to a new place and a new school again. Thinking how much will I miss my friends that I just recently befriended. The place was strange for the 3 of us, we used to have a place where we could run freely, climb trees and have our own little adventure not far from home just the three of us. Now we were confined in that cramp little house. Slowly adjusting to the environment and forgot how we missed living at Tamalang Silau.

We did had a great childhood there tho, regardless how small the house was for a family of 5. I have more friends there and almost all of them went to school with me. Even my school was just a walking distance from the neighborhood. Every morning I would go to school with a group of my closest friends, where we used to pretend we were the members of Spice Girls (I was Posh Spice btw, LOL). We would play at the playground until our parents shouted our names to go home.

The house at Taman Sepanggar became a silent witness to our life, it witnesses our happiness, sadness, silently listening to our voices, talking, laughing and quarrelling. Watch us became adults and when our youngest brother born to this world. If only the house could record every significant moment in our life there. I would love to playback some of the moments, like when my youngest brother came to our house after a night at the hospital. My mama wouldn’t let me hold him because I was too rough (but she let my sister hold her! no fair!), so at night when the baby was sleeping I would gently poke him to make sure he was real and not a doll.

Also those little fancy dinners that Wewen and I used to prepared on birthdays, mother’s day and father’s day. Even those petty fights where my mama cried because the 3 of us were hurting each other verbally and physically sometimes. The time when my brother Nonoi’s admirers stormed to our house, when Wewen threaten to run away from home because my dad let my pup Butch jumped on her when she was napping on the couch. Moments that couldn’t be rewind, forever stuck in the memories of our house at Taman Sepanggar.

That made me miss our house at Taman Sepanggar, if I’m given a chance to turn back time I would pretty much do it all over again. Those moments are precious to me. This brand new house, this new area and I’m no longer young and curious to discover it. All that left for my little brother to do on his own with 4 little pups. :-)

I gotta pick my self up again… cuz right now I’m lost and I feel like I keep on escaping reality.

I keep on fooling myself, making me feel as if everything is okay when it’s obviously not. and my soul is rotting inside.

So here’s what I can do now:

1. Stop pretending

2. Stop feeling sorry

3. Stop being lazy.

Every point of my life there’s a period of time where I’m miserable, lazy….

anyway… I’ll be doing something productive I think for my l______ong holiday.

I have a plan to:

1. Learn carpentry

2. Learn baking

3. Learn sewing

Learning whatever the fuck that I never bother to learn until now.

I’m trying to be a better person emotionally also. I should visit the church more often, to renew my faith in God.

I should put some picture of me now… but my other laptop crash suddenly and all the backup are there with all my 5000++ songs, movies, pictures and work.

I feel really fucked up now but I guess, no use of crying over it now.

123... can you hear me? lol... i'm testing my phone rite now. so this post gonna be mostly BS.

anyway i miss blogging A LOT but am too bz since school started dont wanna repeat the same FUCKIN MISTAKE so i did less aimless surfing n even deactivate my facebook page. all my time is dedicated to school and i gotta admit it tat it felt good even tho i did miss quite a few news n i guess no more bloggers event to attend until the hols. :-(

But i m happy being given a 2nd chance and u gotta fight till your last breath for something you want rite. so i will be fighting n not giving up no more.

Other than that i recently was approached by a up n rising hip hop artist in malaysia to do an album review. but was so busy n i ended up delaying the review for weeks! i m so very very sorry but will post the review soon. probably after midterms... which is next week.

thinking about midterms cause me headache. n those assignments to submit. i shouldnt complained... i know... but i need a place to vent so here it is straight frm the heart. lol..

ugh.. gotta stop from being too whiny... so good bye for now. thanks for stopping by n support this blog cuz believe me I WILL NEVER STOP BLOGGING.

Greetings from UMS DC!

Hello fellow blogreaders… this is the overdue blog post that I’ve been planning to write since the end of my Chinese New Year hols. Is it too late if I wanna wish you guys “Happy New Year of the Rabbit”? :D

Anyway… during the CNY celebrations, my family and I went for a lil getaway from the busyness of Kota Kinabalu to Ranau.

Ranau is one of the most popular holiday getaway for locals because;

1. The Magnificent view of Mount Kinabalu.

2. Lots of interesting places to visit i.e; Poring hot springs, Sabah Tea Garden etc…

3. It’s fucking CHEAP.

If that 3 reasons still hasn’t convince you then screw you.

Nok and I at the morning of our Ranau Adventure.

As usual even though it’s only a 2 day trip… my parents packed EVERYTHING and magically manage to stuffed it all in the car. I used everything to describe because they even packed a CAMP when we already booked a chalet.

So guess where did we stayed?

at Kampung Luanti Homestay?

Why Kampung Luanti?

Because there is where you can get fishes to give you free “massages” or to be exact to let those hungry fishes feast over your dead skin.

As a 1st time visitor to kampung Luanti, I am quite shocked when I arrive there. I imagined the place to be quiet, serene and listening to the sounds of mother nature but NOTHING PREPARED me to this:

Okay… it doesn’t seem that bad from this picture.

The place was crowded and our fucking so call chalet is in the middle of that chaos. They even have a karaoke joint near to the chalet. So GOODBYE “Quiet and Serene imagination”. The ironic thing about the karaoke joint was there is actually a sign prohibiting people to be noisy near the fishes… But the karaoke thing was a charity thing tho… RM1 per song to help the local primary school.

So after the fishes gave you the massages and experience sudden epiphany… and you just gotta let that out by singing. Well then you’re in luck because the karaoke joint offered songs from pop to classic rocks. They even let you try out the traditional musical instrument. All for a good cause.

From this picture you can see camps and yes… that is the chalet we stayed and this time my parents did the correct thing to pack for armageddon because 3 rooms for 17 people… not enough. Now you can imagine the agony I felt staying there.

The place is also lack of parking space for the crowd, the public toilets need to be upgrade or better yet demolish it and build a new one. I’m quite interested finding out who’s the dumb contractor behind all the facilities because it is clearly done by some moron that couldn’t get the measurement right.

The chalet although I gotta admit was design to let the guests experienced a village surrounding and yet comfortable, failed in its design.

1. Who the hell will bath in a bathtub without no fucking water heater! And the tub is DIRTY!

2. Bedding sets need to be clean and change. To the owner/manager please remember not to use any 'Winnie the pooh’ as the bed sheet.

3. Distance the chalet from the karaoke joint! It gave the guests no privacy and it’s fucking annoying listening to horrible singing voices.

Although I am traumatized by the facilities (I couldn’t sleep the whole night because of fear that bugs might be crawling on my face and the plastic cover make it even more unbearable), the fishes was FUCKING AWESOME!

Only a 20 people maximum for a 15 minutes massages.

RM5 for feet only and RM10 for whole body per ticket. However bonus for the guests is 2 free tickets per room for the fish massage.

According to the manager (Mr Jeffrey) it is advisable to come early in the morning where the fishes is at its best and craving for human’s dead skin. But the water is friggin cold.

On the last day all of us together letting the fishes feast over our dead skin.

Don’t worry the fish’s bite doesn’t hurt at all only ticklish. ;)

After the massage, we packed our bags and…

EXPLORE RANAU.

This is where they manufacture Sabah tea. Too bad we didn’t booked a guide because it would be nice to see how the make em. They do offer Tea Factory Tour Packages but close on holiday. Still… it’s fun to take photos of this beautiful greeneries.

Dewina and I then decided to imitate Tea pickers pose… so do have a look and decide which one look like an actual Tea picker. LOL

Anyway… we would’ve gone more places than this but the elders were getting restless and all they wanna do is stay at a nice restaurant.

So after going round and round looking for nice spot to relax, they found this nice Bundu tuhan restaurant.

A quick post… I just saw 1 weird photo and I’m not really sure what I’m saying but…

There’s something weird about this picture right? Eyes on her face boys… I’m not talking about the boobs, it’s her face or probably her face expression that made me wanna slap her.

And don’t let me get to the outfit… I don’t know what the photographer or her trying to pull off but I don’t think the “tarzan’s wife” gold cutout? is that what its call? Take that damn thing off!!! She’ll look much better without that.

It doesn’t look like her and her hotness level drop from 10 to err… maybe a 4?

Little Italy in Kota Kinabalu

Sorry, been neglecting this blog these past few weeks. I pledge from now on to blog at least once a week for my own peace of mind. I need a medium where I can let it all out without forgetting myself.

So what’s new in 2011 other than THE HAIR? Well.. I finally got the chance to go to Little Italy and if you don’t know about this place then you might be one ignorant S.O.B. It’s like one of the most popular Italian restaurant at Kota Kinabalu and situated at Capital Hotel which is just across Wisma Merdeka.

It’s been quite some time that I wanted to dine at Little Italy, I heard rumors, read reviews and testimony from my close friends that this place is one great place to dine. Yet… It took a few years before I could land my feet at this place.

As you can see in this picture the interior the restaurant used thin red brick veneer probably to get a feel of being in Italy itself. I never been to Italy myself and my view of Italy mainly came from Travel channels so I couldn’t really comment the atmosphere there.

The place were usually crowded so we arrived early to get good seats. When it got too crowded they even setup tables near to the curb.

So basically no matter how grand the interior is, what’s important is the foooodddd.

As a 1st timer at Little Italy, I try not to be bias and to rely on other’s opinion in judging the food. Bear in mind that I’m not an expert just someone who loves good food. :)

The 1st thing I ordered was the Tiramisu cake;

Yes… I know dessert should be taken after the main course but I’m a “kampung” girl with lots of appetite for sweet confectioneries so I’m sending you a middle finger in my head. LOL

The Tiramisu cost RM11.90, pretty expensive to me. I’m not quite sure whether it’s worth it tho but the other dessert on the menu such as the caramel pudding (which I ordered the 2nd time I was there but forgot to take pics) was such a delight. :D

Paired it up with a cup of hot chocolate = RM7.90.

and chose…

Pasta alla Carbonara as my main course.

all I can say is YUUMMMMYYY but I still prefer the one Chef Irwan and his entourage made for us at The Square Novotel. I like my carbonara extra creamy…

A dinner at Little Italy will never be complete without THE PIZZAs. Which rumored to be the best in Kota Kinabalu itself.

Margherita pizza… not very appetizing from the looks of it. But never judge anything by its looks because this muthafucka is one delicious pizza.

One special thing you can do at Little Italy is…

YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN PIZZA TOPPING.

I ain’t kidding ya’ll here… I actually created my own topping at the next visit. Mushroom + pepperoni + extra extra cheese…

The Verdict from my pizza hut loving brother was :

So it gotta be good.

While I chose something simple for my dinner… the other dinner guest chose;

Agnello alla griglia will burn RM32.90 in your wallet and that doesn’t include the service charge and government tax.

The meal was worth it tho, Carol ordered it again. :D

Filetto di sole ai : RM30.90… If you’re not a fish lover don’t order this meal.

and last but certainly not least…

This unknown meal which I forgot the name but remember the taste. I would definitely pick this one over Agnello alla griglia. Probably because I’m a fan of potato wedges and thousand island sauce.

A meal at Little Italy will ~~kill~~ cost you RM40++ per person and our meal for the day including some of the cuisine that weren’t feature in this post (my camera battery again FML) was RM200++.

So if you aren’t with your parents or someone that actually have a job to take you out on a dinner at Little Italy… please go to Fong Ip or Fook Yuen instead breakfast, lunch and dinner will save little money you got in your wallet.

But if you wanna impress a girl/guy then go ahead… Just make sure you bring extra cash.

The Long hair dilemma

Dear beloved hair,

              My love, I think it is time we must part for our relationship has taken the turn where everything is a dead end and there is nothing else to do but end it. We’ve been through good and bad times, you stuck around me even when I hurt you by not applying moisturizer after shampoo, rarely comb you with care and I don’t even care for your splits end.

              I’ve mistreated you and I’m sorry for that. You have been tainted by the fake hair color, the curling iron and massive amount of hairspray. You’ve been abused by the one you trusted the most.

              I know you will never leave me, so let me make the first move and end this relationship. It is for your own good and believe me it will be better and you will look shiny, beautiful like the shampoo ads on TV. So we must cut and be gone.

Okay… I am getting sick of my LONG HAIR. I never had my hair this long since… since.. NEVER.

This is the only time and I haven’t bother cutting or getting it trimmed for almost a year now. It looks unhealthy and apparently getting annoyed looking at it in the mirror.

To be honest, I spent 10 years of my earlier life with a boy cut hair which is one easy hair style to maintain. I like it that I dun really have to bother with it. I can just go out without doing anything to it and not look like the wicked witch of the west or some Japanese ghost.

But even though I’m bored with my ridiculous long hair and I don’t really have the guts to cut it.

UNTIL…

I told Nancy and Daisy about my boredom.

They literally pushed me to a hair salon and even paid half for the butchering process…

So Goodbye dear long hair…

and HELLO

It Girl Hair… LOL

I’m quite attached with my hair, I don’t really go crazy with the hairstyles and the last time I did something crazy with is was to cut “Lady Gaga” bangs and dyed my hair light brown.

So you can imagine how I felt entering a hair salon and said that “I want to cut my hair… SHORT”.

Yes… That is real fear in my eyes… and I don’t really know what was in my mind at that time except that I need to do this.

BUT!!! The 1st hair salon I entered said this to me;

“ Kau tidak ngam putung rambut pendek pasal MUKA KAU KECIL dan BADAN KAU BESAR”

For Translation please read below:

“You have a quite small feature face and you’re FAT”

FATTTTTTTTTTTTTT

a direct insult from a MEDIOCRE hairstylist!

She even suggested me a crazy emo hairstyle…

Which… I think will look weird on me and that’s not the point. The point is I WANT A SHORT LENGTH HAIR!!!

So I tried another Hair salon with hopes that there'll be no fuss and that messy long hair will be gone…

BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

This time the hairstylist kept persuading me to curl or do rebonding.

I don’t see why I need to do rebonding since I have a naturally straight hair.

He keep saying “ Sayang o', mau potong rambut, rambut you panjang lagi lawa begini, lagi bagus you curl atau rebonding. Kalau you mahu potong juga… saya trimmed rambut you sikit saja lah. “

Translation:

The hairstylist is a dick and wanted me to curl or do rebonding because it will cost more RM thus more profitable to him.

So I change to another hair salon (May hair Salon) at Beverly Hills Apartments and this time;

Drumroll please…

Like they say; third time’s the charm.

My long hair is dispose and a fresh new look for me :)

And I believe Daisy was more excited seeing the outcome than me. I was still a bit mournful with the loss of my hair. But I am satisfied with it… my head feel much lighter and I don’t take too much time with it.

Christmas dinner at The Square

Christmas 2010 has passed and all I can say is… I really had a very Merry Christmas :D

As usual Christmas is about family, presents, Christmas decorations, food and lots of drinking. Which everything is done and the only thing to do is to celebrate new year!

We usually just do a BBQ Christmas party which held yearly at my aunt’s house but this year out of nowhere somebody suggested to dine at some fancy restaurant this year and picked Novotel 1borneo, The Square Restaurant.

Which happens to be where my sister Wewen is working as a Chef…

I know it’s sad to see a family member couldn’t join for Christmas… Well at least we were seated near to her.

I’ve been to The Square Restaurant once before, ordered ala carte menu and was fairly impressed by their carbonara. So of course I was excited to taste their buffet lineup.

Wearing my Christmas dress and my new white trench coat (which make me look fat) and armed with my old red camera, took photos of the beautifully decorated food.

1. The cold kitchen section consist of turkey and seafood.

Don’t ask me what’s the name of the cuisine because I didn’t bother to write it down so just enjoy watching the pictures. :)

This section wasn’t really appetizing to me even though it is beautifully decorated. Although I do love it’s smoked salmon, it was absolutely scrumptious.

2. Hot Kitchen section… main course menu.

Sorry… this is the only picture for the main course section. My camera’s battery runs out by the time I went there (skipped the main course for dessert :P). I do remember the menu a bit tho,

The soup was, mushroom soup and seafood chowder.

Fried noodles, baked cheesy cauliflower and etc…

They also had a live station where you can request cuisine such as Pasta alla Carbonara, lamb, turkey and meat loaf.

I was disappointed tho with the main course, I expected it’s gonna be the same like the last time I ordered by ala carte menu but I was wrong. The menu is plain, boring and most of it taste very bland especially the mushroom soup.

3. Pastry section

My favourite part of any buffet lineup.

What can I say… I’m a sucker for sweets. I love all of em… except that star cookie it almost broke my teeth biting it make my mediocre chocolate chips seem much bettah!… LOL…

The entertainment for the night was live music and a Magician!

The magician, with lame tricks. Only kids will be awed and frankly the magician failed to impress my 6 year old brother.

He’s more interested learning tekken and ultraman secret moves from Wawan.

The Christmas spirit

Every time when Christmas come I feel so jolly and happy…and the last time that I really felt that way was when I was a child. Still oblivious that Santa Claus does not exist. That’s right you little under age twerp… SANTA CLAUS DOESN’T EXIST.

Sorry… about that I didn’t mean to be The Grinch there… It’s just that it’s been a while since I really felt a Christmas Spirit inside me. Last year I wasn’t at home for Christmas was at the Philippines celebrating and partying with the one and only

LOL… didn’t mean to sound bragging there but I just can’t help it. It’s not everyday I get to party with a superstar. LOL

Christmas this year tho, starts quietly and at first I wasn’t really excited by the idea but then it hit me that this is Genesis’s first christmas at KK and I just gotta make it a special one. 1st thing we’ve done is to dust off that old christmas tree and start decorating it.

so… Tadah! The result… Okay it’s not pretty but it will do for now.

Also I tried baking again… if you remember this DISASTER then you’ll know how “good” my baking skill is.

But this time around I manage to make it actually look GOOD!

And then I got a little bit cocky and put…

yep… ladies and gentleman that’s a fucking M&Ms in my chocolate chips. I haven’t actually tasted the one with M&Ms but brother did and his verdict was good. :P

I even told my brother to wrote a letter to Santa Claus. Which he did and guess what he want for Christmas?…

A Jin Kazama action figure. I’ve been going through almost all toy stores at KK and failed to find one. OMAIGOAT I AM SCREWED!!!

So I’ve been creating stories to change his Christmas wish so wish me luck today… May I finally found that I particular toy and that Pokemon book.

To get into the Christmas spirit, my parents and I took my brother to the Christmas Carnival at Gaya Street and so-called Winter Wonderland at Gaya Street and Padang Merdeka.

Even though there’s literally NO PARKING near the Gaya Street, we drove to KK and parked at Sinsuran Street and walk all the way to the carnival. Thank god, people of KK can be reasonable at times and always let us pass the road safely while holding my 6 year old brother. :)

The Christmas carnival is held yearly but this year something new arise Celcom decided to create a winter wonderland at a tropical climate. I bet they gained lots of profit because of this.

Upon entering this so-called winter wonderland I feel like I’ve been cheated and yet still have this jolly feeling inside me and forced my brother to pose at ALL THE CHRISTMAS decorations. I didn’t even mind that there’s no fake snow and had to pay RM5 to be in an air-conditioned room that been painted white to substitute the fake snow.

If you pay to get into this “winter wonderland” then you better make it worth it by taking lots and lots of photos.

Even when people keep getting into your photos.

But then again, the place is crowded and you gotta find a good spot and angle to excluded people in your photo. Which is hard but I did manage a few…

and then I started to getting into the action as well…

That elf above me look like an exhibitionist and the elf beside my brother look fucking stunned probably by the exhibitionist elf.

Lame as it is… I had to admit I actually had a good time. I love seeing my brother all excited for Christmas, how easy it is to make him see how magical Christmas is.

His happy face just reminds me of how excited I was for Christmas.

Didn’t even mind that the “Santa Claus” is a tall skinny Indian guy. LOL.

Afterwards… we exited and watched the firework display.

The firework display ended and we walk from Padang Merdeka to Gaya Street to get ICE CREAM… YUMMY!

Never get the counterfeit one. The blue truck with caprila sign on top couldn’t justified how delicious the ice cream is. SO MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR ICE CREAM FROM THIS WHITE CAPRILA ICE CREAM TRUCK.

If I had to choose to be a cat person or dog person…

I’ll choose both, frankly because I’m an animal person except for disgusting rats…Fan of Ratatouille please be gone because I totally don’t believe a rat or mice whatsoever can appear to cute and cuddly in my dictionary.

So please stop convincing me that it’s cute.

Okay… now that we got that sort out, lets get on to the real post.

Last Saturday, Dac Latte, Ciean and I were on a paid mission. Our mission was to make people look ridiculously hot on a wedding day. Yes… we were paid to be a makeup artist…

“WHAT PAID? WHO IN THE RIGHT MIND WOULD PAY CYNTA TO DO MAKE UP!”

Well all you skeptics out there… I am proud to say I did a decent job on that. Thank You Michelle Phan :P

We didn’t went to the hobbycon but instead went to Suria Sabah with intention to watch a movie but got side track by this.

The cat lady! LOL… Dac Latte actually have a village of cats at her house. Her mum is a number 1 fan of cats.

The place were crowded even though the place smells too much of cat’s food.

There were 2 judges at that time. Both from USA.

and both did quite a quick job judging the cats. Although probably because there were a lot of categories and too many kitty cats. I didn’t really pay attention to the category tho, they didn’t provide the judges a microphone so can’t really hear what they were saying.

From my observation, the cats are judge by their agility, fur and breed. The judge will play with them, stroke the cats and then put them back into the cages.

The cats must be energetic with soft furs and also sexy (wtf?!) to win the best cat award.

The best cat will then be awarded with ribbons. I saw 1 cat got 6 ribbons. That cat must be 1 awesome cat.

The beauty pageant I guess mainly for the cat’s owner. Breeding a good cat must be a passion for them since all of them taken extra care for their cats (like duh)…

I dunno if I can take really good care of my pets but probably because I hate thinking of the expenses must be made for that because it’s must be really expensive. Since I’m a procrastinator and poor, better stick to admiring other’s pets.

They even prohibited flash photography. Which is understandable… it probably disturb the cats.

All the cats look so adorable, I just hate taking the photos with them behind the cage. But chaos will happen if weren’t for those cages.

We didn’t stick till the end of the pageant tho. Dac latte got a movie to catch and I got a date with Ed. It was fun watching the cats, I wish I could cuddle the cats. But they will probably scratch me. LOL

Almost all female bloggers that I’ve stalked has blogged about make up. Especially the difference between wearing them and the au naturel look.

Well, folks… I finally succumbs in doing THE MAKEUP POST and here it is…

I have a habit where I must take photos during putting on make up just to make sure I look picture perfect and I realize that it has been crowding up my memory spaces in my laptop and I can’t delete it even tho I rarely will view it again thus this post is created! (plus I am too damn lazy to take new pictures might as well make use of it).

Au naturel… Fresh from the shower! See lar the hair still wet.

I look like a monk with my almost invisible eyebrow. So jealous with people who have naturally beautiful visible eyebrow.

Foundation ready face, so even skin tone. Still no eyebrow and am not blessed with perfect skin and enough money to turn skin akin to a commercial ad.

Yay!!! I can see eyebrow. I wore a contact lens occasionally to make my eyes look more dazzling… mmm… dazzling (say it like homer simpson says mmm… donuts).

Eye makeup ready! Excuse the pink rollers people.

Put on those fake lashes for a more dramatic effect to your eyes. It’s actually very easy to apply fake lashes and contact lens. You just need a steady hand. I prefer long thick fake lash compare to the plain fake lash. You are not gonna wear it every day, might as well look dramatic than plain and boring.

Contour your nose… Some people don’t need it and some people do. But if you watch TV3 8pm news, you’ll notice all the women newscaster contour their noses. Some look really weird… LOL. I hope I don’t fall in that category.

Blush and put on lipstick. Hair do and then…

WALA!!!

Everyone has their own personal views so please don’t insult others by saying they wear too much makeup thus make them look fake. Self beautification is not fake, it’s more of upgrading your current look to a better one.

Personally, I have nothing against surgery… Heck, it’s your body and you only got 1 life to live might as well be happy with it.

meanwhile… if you against plastic or just don’t have the money to do one, make up is the next best thing to upgrade your plain and boring look.

Music Across Borders by A World Class Choir

When Dac Latte said to me that she got a tickets for a Choir recital, I thought it would be something like a Christmas Caroling. Since it is the holiday season and Christmas is around the corner. So I said to myself, “what the heck, just go and it will probably pump up my holiday spirit”.

BUT NOTHING PREPARED ME FOR THIS!!!

No, that is not Dracula’s Brides… that is actually the choir group.

But before I venture into the ~~horror~~ story I’m about to tell, let me just start off with the 4 of us (Dac Latte, Mr Whimsical, His Friend Steve and I) entering the UMS Chancellor Hall. A hall which bare all my nightmare and will begin haunting me again at the 4th of Jan 2011.

The 4 of us without any hesitation walk right into the hall proudly and picked ~~almost~~ front row seats. We consider ourselves as VIP (LOL) and sat right behind people with the paying tickets. Yes… ours was FOC and I think we were suppose to sit at the back with the commoners. LOL…

Anyway… The opening act was conducted by Sabah Youth Choir and all I can say that… I expected too much.

Sabah Youth Choir wearing their blue uniform shirt. I was half expecting a Glee performance with them ripping out that ugly blue shirt and start singing “Valerie”. But that obviously didn’t came true. Sabah Youth Choir is your traditional stool choir and sadly enough without any great voices.

But probably because the sound system weren’t good enough for everyone to appreciate their voices. The song selection was classic such as 1Malaysia anthem.

Then… came the Carmina Slovenica Choir from Slovenia…

*insert suspense music here*

I was shocked by the performance. It was theatrical, beautiful and yet scary.

And I DON’T FUCKING UNDERSTAND A THING what they were singing. Since they came from Slovenia, they probably singing a song of their own language which I bet only 1% of the audience understand the language.

Also I discovered that Slovenia and Slovakia is 2 different nation (yes, I am that dumb… F.U) here’s a link explaining the difference.

There’s nothing “Christmas caroling” about this choir group. Sometimes their voices seems more like chanting an evil spell rather than singing.

Although you gotta hand it to them, the choir group really surprised us all… literally.

By approaching unsuspecting innocent audience to devour their blood (Okay that’s too much LOL), actually to sing to them.

Listening to their voices up close, I admit that I was impressed and forgot that I actually don’t understand a thing they’re singing. Probably English but was too preoccupied taking pictures that I forgot to really listen.

I guess English since they did a popular broadway songs and a church song for their closing act. The audience responded by giving thunderous applause.

Although during the intermission, most of the audience head back. Probably because it was getting late and it’s a Sunday… a day before the treacherous Monday. Beside I bet not many of the audience weren’t exposed to this type of performing act (is that the correct term?) and some might get a little bored.

But then they missed out our own Malaysian Operafest Children’s Choir.

Due to both camera + video camera MATI BOTIRI I meant, insufficient battery. I was only able to capture this picture and it was the 2nd act where the children pretend to be kung fu master whilst singing.

The teacher/conductor were really funny, I bet she can make it as a stand up comedian. She did perform for us tho, a very opera type voice singing a song by Frank Sinatra if I’m not mistaken. The type of voice that if you sing loud enough would break a glass.

The children were adorable and energetic. All of them in character and able to sing without a broken note. My favourite part would be that photo. XD

Not to worry tho… Dac Latte did recorded the choir recital so you probably wanna check out this video.

I apologize tho if I offended anybody with this post. I am not a music critic and yes my knowledge of music is limited. I can’t play any instrument and I can’t even sing… I just like listening to music very much regardless what genre it is. :)

Baby Bee’s Baptism

Baptism is a Christian Sacrament of spiritual cleansing and rebirth. So being baptize is one of the most significant moment of a Christian.

That is why we travel all the way to Beaufort for my niece baptism at St Valentine Church. Baby Bee wearing all white for her baptism.

We had to wait for the priest to arrive so while waiting, like all vain women… we pull out the cameras and started to cam whore shamelessly with Baby Bee.

I bet you notice that Genesis is in all of the pictures, that’s because I think he was feeling a bit left out when all attention was given to Baby Bee. Tho he did bought Bee a present for her baptism using his own allowance money!

Now… lets move on to the most important part… The Baptism Ceremony.

Surprisingly Bee was in a good mood that day even though she was sick. She keep singing (or talking) LALALA in the chapel.

Bee waving at me. She was calm during the ceremony, didn’t even utter a cry and was in her best behavior. Before the mass started she was singing out loud but afterwards as if she knew how important the ceremony is for her kept calm and silent, she is such a poise little lady. ;)

The priest baptized Bee with the holy water and now Adriana Christianne is officially a catholic. May she grow up to be a good catholic and hopefully we could guide her in being one. Well at least not guided by me but by her grandparents, grandaunts and granduncles and of course her mother =).

So refrain from commenting how ironic it would be for me being a good role model.

After her baptism ceremony, Bee fall asleep immediately.

Then it’s our time to discover Beaufort!

Well… we didn’t technically do that, but at least we didn’t do what the outsiders do, that is go eat at a fast food restaurant i.e KFC. The priest took us in a quite popular Seafood restaurant at Beaufort. The place was air conditioned (THANK YOU LORD!!!) and the food was gooooodd.

After we ate, we decided to check out the local joints LOL… that is the mall. There' aren’t exactly a mall there but there’s a supermarket called G*Mart = JIMAT.

I bought a RM5 bra (50% discaunt, yes I’m such a cheapskate) there which I won’t post the pictures. Because I don’t want any pervert imagining me wearing that bra. LOL.

That was the only place we went though. All of us were wearing heels and it’s kinda hard to explore with DAMN FUCKING HIGH HEELS! CURSES!!! But I did bring along extra slippers for me so I was saved. LOL

Anyway… we done one good deed of the day.

Yep… there’s a kitty in this picture. And unfortunately it got separated from its mom (I suspect) and stranded in the pedestrian walkway. The kitty was starving and it just broke my heart that I couldn’t take it home with me.

Then when we are sure the kitty ate the food and at least had some energy to move itself to a much comfortable place, we bid farewell to each other and return to Kota Kinabalu.

Officially 24

Turning 24 might not be as glamorous as turning sweet 16, 18 or 21. 21 is like the best age ever because you’re legally an adult and now free to enter all clubs and walk freely without any supervision from parents. Owh… an also, the age where your opinion and vote became important to the Government.

But 24… is just another 6 years to 30. Not that I’m not happy turning 24, I am…it’s just that I’m 24 and I am still a struggling student. Even my 22 year old sister has already gotten herself a steady job. That’s mean… I’m still in loserville at 24.

Although as miserable as I manage to make my life sounds… I am still surrounded by beautiful, caring people :D

Thank You for all the wishes and presents! Giving you guys WEB KISSES as much as you want from me. LOL

And don’t worry about getting cake cream on my face, Ed already take care of that for you guys. Yep… while eating my sliced Birthday cake. Thank you Fanny for buying me that delicious VedaBlu cake…. and to think that I didn’t even bother getting a cake for my birthday. Yep… 2 years in the row and no birthday wishes… DAMN!!!

Although my mum did arranged a very grown up birthday dinner for me at Pizza Hut (-_-“). I actually didn’t get to picked this year, I let Genesis picked instead. And he likes pizza at pizza hut… so to make him actually EAT, I relented (My brother have this bad habit of throwing up food he doesn’t like).

That about sum it all… so he ended up giving me present 1 week earlier than he planned. LOL

And a sliced cake from Fanny. :)

I also got 100++ wishes from friends at facebook and all that really make me happy.

Cynta and Chocolate

Mmmm… Me love chocolate.

Chocolate, chocolate. chocolate.

I wish I live in a chocolate factory but then I would hate chocolate. I can’t stand eating the same thing everyday. But it would be a wonderful experience to visit a chocolate factory.

Anyway… last Sunday, we received a surprised invites for a chocolate tasting at Hyatt Hotel. So even though I look A.S.I considering it’s chocolate and the most important thing is, it’s FREE, I agree to went there along with Dac Latte and Ciean.

To be honest I was a bit disappointed when I see the chocolates. I was expecting something more grander than a row of chocolates but according to the F&B Director it was the last day. The day before they even had a chocolate making class. Which make me wanna kill Asif for not taking us earlier, I believe even though with my limited cooking ability I would definitely make a delicious set of chocolates. Tingu Orang La… LOL

Without further ado lets move on to the Chocolates close up pictures.

The chocolate is from Swiss and you know when I mention Swiss chocolate, you can only expect the best. Since Swiss chocolate rank number 1 in top brand of chocolates. I’m not sure whether or not this is the number chocolate brand.

BUT WHO CARES!!! I GOT FREE CHOCOLATE TASTING SESSION!

ENVY ME!!!

Again due to ignorance and gluttony I didn’t bother to get the names of the chocolates. So using my buffet lineup strategy I just take one of everything.

My favourite would be the one that looks like a cookie (okay there’s 2 of em), the slightly larger one lar. LOL.

Suicide Candy

Bamboo Music Festival

The Bamboo Music Festival is a festival that promotes, preserve and develop traditional Sabah musical instrument that is commonly made from bamboo. Numerous activities such as traditional bamboo based games such as the Rampanau race (walking on bamboo stilts), building house model using bamboo etc.. and of course the highlight of the event performance by Bamboo Music Orchestra.

The festival is held for 2 days from 23rd November until the 24th November 2010. It is the 1st Bamboo Music Festival that I attended, I am ashamed to admit that before Dac Latte called me at 9am this morning (the 24th) I never even heard of this festival. She manage to dragged my ass outta bed and before 12pm, both of us were on our way to Tamparuli.

But when we arrived there we had NO FUCKING IDEA where the festival is held.

Made quite a few wrong turn and when we asked the locals 2 out of 3 gave us wrong directions. Which lead us all to the wrong places, we were completely lost without a help from a nice uncle and his family which gave us a correct direction and we managed to find our way there.

It wasn’t held at Dewan Tun Hamdan for this year (apparently the Bamboo Music Festival is held yearly in November *gawd I’m so clueless*) but near to the District office and we got there just in time! woohoo!

Picked front row seats and while waiting for the guest of honor to arrive, camwhore lar 1st. But then was ushered by the MC to move to the back. (T_T)

Around 1.30 pm the orchestra start gathering and took their places on stage.

I really don’t know what to expect at that time. I never heard an orchestra consist of bamboo musical instrument before. The only thing made from bamboo I ever heard was the sompoton and it wasn’t played that good either.

The spirit of 1 Malaysia is in the house. Wearing our indigenous costumes.

Not quite a full house, probably because of the heat. The lack of fans and air conditioning made the place feels like an oven even though it’s cloudy outside.

An opening dance ceremony which I think if it was choreograph by Daclatte would be much better.

I was totally blown away by the orchestra. You just gotta be there to listen and be amazed. No worries tho, there’ll be a video at the end of this post.

As the orchestra take a bow, the audience gave standing ovation for the orchestra.

Daclatte and I then venture outside to check out the stalls and hand crafts.

I iz dunno what this iz. Me thinks it some kind of bamboo drum judging from the book we bought.

I definitely can verify this one. This is a kulintangan or bamboo xylophone.

I like this thing. I made a house model just like this once, only it’s not made from bamboo but plywood.

This look much better for a Barbie house rather than that pink plastic house. They should make a Kampung Barbie.

What the hell is this? Sorry for the inconvenience but I forgot to ask any information about it and it wasn’t in the guide book. But those who know do share in this blog please.

The trash started. There were only 2 trash bin around and it was stuffed by garbage and it’s not a pleasant sight to look at.

and before we go, a cute aunty stopped us and said we forgot to take the card calendar. I stupidly asked whether the card is free or not (*insert blush*), the aunty simply laugh and said of course.

Hmph! I’ve been to the bamboo festival 2010.

Curiosity killed the Cat

Curious... Yes, I am curious and thanks to the internetz, I now can easily satisfied my curiosity by using search engine and of course the beloved facebook.

I think I just done something that I shouldn't have... but I just wanna know.

Have you ever wanted to know about your EX? without him/her knowing it... well of course some of you do.

Sometimes I feel like there's an unfinished business between him and I. But the truth is nothing need to be said anymore, I'm happier with Ed and I bet he's happier without me. Beside it's been quite some time already.

To be honest, I got a list of exes but he's more special than the others but obviously he's not the one. I dumped him and I feel bad about it. I cheated on him with Ed (tho I ended our relationship before ed and I officially dating, we were really only friends before) and we were going through a rough patch. We were on a long distance relationship and I think that's another reason for it. I thought I wasn't ready to be in a serious relationship at that time but then I met Ed.

Still, I can't help that some things reminds me of him. I do sometimes wonder what happen if I end up with him now. I bet things won't change somehow... it was a matter of time and apparently Ed came at the right time. So to the one who got away I bid you farewell (again) and just wanna let you know that I really did care for you and maybe one day we could be friends. But that probably will be awkward... so I hope we'll be at least on good terms with each other.

Just wanna let that person know that he really was special in my heart. To the rest of the exes;

THE BAG CHALLANGE

So my task is to reveal all my “hidden skeletons” in my bag.

1st of all as a women, I have quite a bag collection although I have 3 favorite bags which I often use.

But today I’m wearing this bag!

and yes… it’s quite messy because I always bring things I don’t really need, it’s a women’s curse to be extra cautious for things you MIGHT need.

So to bore my readers to death (as usual). I’ll be revealing the things one by one.

A scrunchy and pretty bow. I have a ridiculously long hair which has reach my bottom and rather than looking like Nicole Sherzinger, I look more like the wicked witch of the west. Beside I’m not that meticulous when it comes to my hair. So a scrunchy and that pretty bow is my SAVIOR to look presentable to the public eyes.

A hand sanitizer. A friend teased me for bringing this along which made me look like monk since I like my hands to be clean. Since the H1N1 attacks, this is a sacred thing for me but no worries I’m not suffering from any obsessive compulsive disorder yet.

Cuz I need a place to put my money so I can pay things I buy i.e car fuel.

Compact powder and lip gloss, cuz me like to be pretty.

Tissue for sweats, keeping hands dry etc…

Keys for my house and car.

My real phone and…

extra phone since the real one is currently having some internal issues.

I only recently bring this one along. This is the early birthday present I was telling you guys in twitter. There’s a funny story behind it so probably will blog about it. :P

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST…

My camera. I always have my camera inside my bag. I don’t trust my 2mp phone camera so it’s better to bring a real camera instead to capture precious moment such as these;

Youth Art Festival

Let it be known people that I, Cyntacinta has finally volunteered for the 1st time in my life.

YEAH… Cyntacinta volunteered at the Youth Art Festival on the 13th of November 2010. Let this be written in history that CYNTACINTA HAS FINALLY VOLUNTEERED FOR THE 1ST FUCKING TIME!

Okay… enuff BS… Tweet stalkers definitely know what the heck I’m talking about.

Alamesra Youth-PREP Centre has organized the 1st EVAAAA YOUTH ART FESTIVAL 2010! The theme for the festival was VOICED OUT!!! The Youth of Sabah VOICED OUT their beautiful voice through ART.

Youth Art Festival was held for 2 days only. To the people who missed it, no worries I bet it will be coming back next year. :)

On the 13th was the day of Music and drama.

The event featured Local Artist such as:

It was AWESOME!!! I gotta be honest here, that I never heard of some of the local Artist. Apart from Asif & Rene I only know Velvet AF4 and Alvin MY. I was a bit clueless about the others and get confused with the other talent because all of them are so damn good. Okay not all but some did a pretty awesome job at performing. :)

Other than musical performance the Youth Art Festival also featured artworks and photography exhibition. People can bid the artworks and photo and everything will go to charity.

One of the work of art that catches my eye. Although the eyelash looks a bit odd cuz it resemblances hair being blown by the wind and I don’t think eyelash can do that. But it is probably for artistic reason the eyelash is drawn like that. I like it tho!

While waiting for the VIPs to arrive the volunteers set up the chair, the artworks and also just standing there to make as if there’s already a crowd even when 1Borneo is practically a ghost town at 9am.

Volunteers were instructed to wear a black T-Shirt and shoes. The only thing that separates us from the REAL crowd is the tags around our neck.

Because I arrive quite early that day, I decided to look around and check out the art exhibition since I know I’ll be busy after the event start.

Alamesra Youth Prep centre activities map. The youth prep centre is a non profit organization which aim to create awareness about social problems that affecting the youths.

There’s also a donation box. People who wanted to donate their used clothes, books etc… can do so. But I’m afraid the there’s only 1 donation box for all of it and I don’t think they got many donation that day.

The event start at 10am which was quite early and surprisingly the event went on schedule. :D

I’m sad to admit that I only manage to take few good photos for the event. I was busy recording people and rushing to charge the video cam. The battery only lasted for 3hours FML.

Velvet’s calender cupcake. According to an anonymous food lover statement, it said to much more yummylicious than boutique cupcake even tho the decoration might not be as extravagant. And it cost RM5 each, WTF?!. RM5 + RM1.25 I can buy myself a McD value lunch!

Green leaf theatre performing about life, death and materialism. Which in my opinion there’s nothing wrong being materialistic, as long as we’re alive we do need money. I forgot the band’s name but they were pretty good. Although they did butchered Paramore’s song Brick by Boring Brick. LOL Asif and Rene. I steal this picture from their profile… sorry. :P

I think this might be edge master band. I’m not quite sure… please correct me if I’m wrong. A unique band combining heavy metal music with traditional music instrument.

My favourite band of the day : The Fingers. They truly ROCK! LOL

After The Fingers performance, the music festival end and a few photo session with the other volunteers. We head home tired and hungry. LOL

Yes... it has finally arrive!!!

Okay... probably it's old news in some part of the world.

And maybe I'm just a bit out dated here... but I'm still fucking excited about it!!!

My favorite rock band in the entire world will finally release a new album (approximately this 22nd November) after 4 fucking years!!!

I already fallen heads over heels for their latest single "NA NA NA". I first heard the song at hitz.fm and thought this is the best thing of the year that has happen to the world! well... at least for me. :)

Gerard Way change his hair color again!

IMHO it's gonna be much better than their last album "the Black parade" although it's their most successful album which created a few controversy. The single "NA NA NA" excites me because it is quite different from their previous songs and it has this upbeat pop funk that makes me wanna jump up and down, doing all the rock cliche moves.
I only hopes that this song won't be turn up to be used by bands in the clubs, I swear I will kill that insolent band that tries to butchered this song or any songs by MCR. So, please stick to covering Neyo's, Rihanna's, BEP's etc.. songs instead. Also a reminder for the local rock band, please don't do a cover of this song... YOU WILL NEVER SING IT BETTER THAN MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE.

MCR has populated most of my late teenage years and made me feel that it's okay to be weird and think about death. Yes, that's mean I was an avid fan of them before the "emo" trend occur when teenage boys started wearing make up. Seriously leave the your mom eyeliner alone boys. You look more like a clown than a rockstar. Only Gerard Way can pull it off and maybe that gay dude whathisname...

If you have no idea what is MCR = My Chemical Romance (but first tell me which era you belong) here's a link for ya.

FYI the single will also be used in a Sony PS3 game Gran Turismo 5. Yay!!! I never played that game before but now I will definitely play it. On second thought I think I've played it before the earlier version of course but that was years ago and I suck at it.

Anyway… I know delaying is not good and I have been delaying the Youth Art Festival post for 3 days now.

Actually I am quite anxious and suffering nightmares because of it. Though I chose not to share with people I’m close with but rather share it here…

I cannot tell you the reason of my anxiety, just that I hope that whatever happens I will be strong and hopefully God will lead me to the path that I belong too.

Many of us has made bad choices in life, regretting about it won’t make life much easier in fact I think it will make us more miserable. So I’ve made a few bad choices and even though I know I should move on, I feel I’m still stuck in a place where I shouldn’t be and confused by my own self.

But… There is no need to take people down to your level, pretence might seem hypocritical but at least no one will get hurt except your self. LOL.

Half boiled egg

Anybody here likes a half boiled egg? I personally hate eating half boiled egg, I prefer my eggs to be fried either scrambled or sunny side up.

Anyway this post is not about eggs, it’s about recent event I’ve attended which I didn’t quite stayed to see it end.

Let’s cut to the chase and start the real post.

1. Stompin Sabah

Have you guys been there? Well… I have but didn’t really make it to the real event. Although I did went to the rehearsal.

So I didn’t get to see the real act but I get to see Man Kidal LIVE.

Yeah… I know it would be cooler if I got to see Ella cuz she’s one of Malaysian Singer that I really really like. She’s 40++ and still looks hawt!

I heard the performance was awesome although I wasn’t really looking forward of going there because, honestly I think Celcom could’ve chosen better performers. Not that those performers weren’t good enough but this kind of concert was the first in Sabah and a better known performers would’ve attract EVERYONE to go.

But I woulda gone there if I were paid to go to (missed a call from NN with 10 free tickets!!!). Hmmmph! It’s okay though… I missed it but I bet LOTS of people had fun there.

Reminds me, HOW I REALLY NEED A NEW CAMERA!!!

I actually get to see Man Kidal upclose cuz he went and talk for a while with our friends, and the 3 of us just standing there and looking at his hair. LOL… I wonder how does he make his hair that long and curly, and does he wash it?

He kinda imitates Slash the former lead Guitarist from Guns & Roses. But he is really small, I imagined he would be much more taller and better built.

Don’t be mad fanatic fans and please don’t throw eggs at me.

I dunno who this is. I guess it’s a band although I dunno where from.

So we did more camwhore than watching the real show. Nancy took this photo, she should be with us here.

But I couldn’t find super cute pictures of the 3 of us. Damn!!! That’s because we took too much photo (then deleting it) and my camera battery went DEAD!!!!

Then we got bored and went to shenanigans instead.

The rehearsal is more of a sound check than a rehearsal probably to keep people anticipating.

2. Sabah 13th Hospitality Fiesta.

The next day 6th of October 2010 at City Mall was The Hospitality Fiesta.

Meaning you get to see decorated food that makes you hate seeing them being eaten. You will wish the food be preserve in some kind of food museum.

I went there with Ed, he was there to support his workmates and stayed there until the end. I got bored after an hour and ditched him for my brother Genesis.

We arrive quite early but still failed to get a good parking spot!

The theme was 1 Malaysia.

So what is exactly 1 Malaysia? All I can think about is variety of food in Malaysia and of course the races. Unity in Diversity, I guess.

My future wedding cake will look something like this. Fruit carving… A thing which I am sure I could never learn even if the world most talented fruit carver (is that the correct term?) teach me.

It look like it is made from cakes. But according to Ed, it’s made from seafood or something. Not sure tho wasn’t really paying attention at what he said. LOL

The black box competition. I dunno the real term for this competition but heard someone calling it that.

It is call black box because the contestant will be given random ingredients and they must come up with a cuisine in a certain amount of time.

It was raining then… I didn’t know who won and Ed forgot who. But I knew his friend didn’t won.

So that was it… 2 half boiled egg and an awesome weekend. I spend that weekend partying with my best girls. I heard the DJ at club Edgar announced Jin from Hitz.fm were there. Didn’t get the chance to see him up close tho… Bummer.

Still a good weekend cuz at Sunday, my sister and I were treated to a good 1 hour massage and all I can say… IT WAS GREAT!!!
