Microsoft has introduced Typescript , a language for application-scale JavaScript development. TypeScript is a typed super set of JavaScript. The new language when compiled is translated to plain JavaScript so that it can be used in any browser. It’s open source and its code source is licensed under Apache 2.0, which can be found on Codeplex.

About Developers:

TypeScript was developed under the code name : Strada. The developers team was led by Microsoft’s Steve Lucco. Lucco’s title is Chief Architect for JavaScript runtime and tools. Lucco led the team who built Chakra.Another prominent name in the list of developers is of Anders Hejlsberg , person who is known as father of C# and Turbo Pascal.

What’s New with TypeScript:

TypeScript is a language for application-scale JavaScript. It adds : optional types, classes, and modules to JavaScript. Since the TypeScript compiles to standard JavaScript it’s not restricted by any browser or host.It includes many new proposed features of Ecmascript 6 (ES6).

Installation and Use:

It is open source and its code source is licensed under Apache 2.0, which can be found on http://typescript.codeplex.com/.One can install TypeScript via an npm package for node.js or as an MSI that integrates with Visual Studio 2012. Microsoft has released a Plugin for Visual Studio 2012, thus giving a IDE support to users. Download plugin.

Why Develop a new language:

Around the web people have been discussing what led Microsoft to develop a new language based on JavaScript. Google had a similar project Google Dart and others like CoffeeScript and Script# etc. to simplify the JavaScript coding and syntax. Apart from rivalry from Google the video posted on Microsoft Channel 9 suggests that Microsoft’s technical teams have been using JavaScript as a coding tool which has led to development of this new Tool.

How to Learn TypeScript

Microsoft provides good tutorials and an active forum for TypeScript developers.

GoDaddy the biggest domain name registrar is down and so are millions of sites hosted on it.The result of this breach is that millions of sites are down. Techcrunch also reports that GoDaddy’s E-mail services are also downalong with GoDaddy.com and many of their DNS servers .

“Status Alert: Hey, all. We’re aware of the trouble people are having with our site. We’re working on it,” @GoDaddy tweeted Monday.

Who did this to GoDaddy?

The notorious hacking group Anonymous members have claimed the responsibility of bringing down the biggest domain registrar,GoDaddy. One of the Anonymous members known as AnonymousOwn3r is claiming responsibility, and makes it clear this is not an Anonymous collective action.

So why did Anonymous target GoDaddy?

Well if you followed the internet news then you would be well aware of the fact that GoDaddy supported unpopular bills the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Protect IP Act (PIPA), ever since then GoDaddy was a target of the protesters.

Sending your data to cloud is thought to be the easiest way to secure and backup it. Dropbox, one of the biggest names in the online backup and file storage service recently confirmed that some of it’s users credentials were compromised. This has led the company to enable the added security measure, Two-Step verification.

What is Two-Step verification ?

Two-Step verification randomly generates a 16-digit security code which the user has to enter at the time of sign-in in addition to the username and password to access their account from a new device like a computer, iphone or tablet. This code is random and may prove hard to be cracked by hackers.

How to Get Two-Step verification code ?

This code may be send to you by SMS or by a smartphone app such as Google Authenticator for Android, iOS, and BlackBerry. Two-Step verification is designed to prevent the unauthorized accessing of users account and protect some of their more precious files stored in Dropbox such as family photos or business documents.

How to enable the Two-Step authentication feature on Dropbox ?

Here’s a quick guide at how to enable the Two-Step authentication feature on your account.

1. First log in to your Dropbox account via the website.

First log in to your Dropbox account via the website.

2. Access the account menu by clicking on your name in the top right corner of the screen.

3. Then choose Settings and go to the Security tab.

4. Under the Account Sign-in section, users will see a new Two-step verification option set to ‘Disabled’ by default.

Users who prefer to get their 16-digit code by a text message can select the option which will be available on enabling the Two Step verification setup.

Dropbox two-step verification supports several third-party authentication apps including Google Authenticator (Android, iOS, BlackBerry), AWS Virtual MFA from Amazon’s App store for Android, or Authenticator for Windows Phone. After the setup, users can test the feature to ensure it is working properly or not.

To try it, users have to unlink their desktop account and try re-linking it.

To unlink on Windows, right-click on the Dropbox icon in your taskbar, select “Preferences>Account>Unlink This Computer.” Dropbox will disappear and then reboot asking you to sign in. After you’ve entered your username and password, you should now see a request for a two-step verification code. The Two-Step verification feature is under experimental mode. Dropbox has implemented this feature as optional for users. It is advised that users who don’t mind experimenting with this new feature can access this feature and those users who hate any kind of hassles in their account should not try it now till dropbox confirms its safety and verifies it. Dropbox is working hard for providing better security for all its users and their files and prevent their account from suspicious activities like introducing New Automated Mechanisms and security tabs to add extra layer of security to users accounts.

Samsung Galaxy Pocket is a latest pocket friendly device recently added to the Samsung android phone family. It is light as feather with compact design which provide a light feeling in hands. So to check its pocket friendly value, lets find out in the review.

HARDWARE

Samsung Galaxy Pocket has a compact curved edge design which fit in your palm and gives you a premium feel. It has a plastic body which feels good to hold and gives a good look. The 2.8-inch full touchscreen display with capacitive menu, back and home buttons. The devisamsung-galaxy-pocketce is also equipped with a 2 MP camera with the speakers at the back panel. The Micro USB port is mounted at the top of the device which allows both battery charging and data transfer with a 3.5mm audio jack beside it. At the right side, there’s a volume rocker and a power button at the left side.

DISPLAY

Galaxy Pocket has a 2.8-inch TFT display with a resolution of 320x240p. The 2 MP camera clicks great quality images and the display seems dull in low light condition than in daylight. It does not have a front facing camera.

SOFTWARE/ INTERFACE

The Galaxy Pocket is a pocket friendly smartphone which operates on Android 2.3 interfaced with a 832MHz processor. The device has a three customizable home screens and offers a smooth multitasking option. It has Samsung’s new app i.e. Touch Wiz UI which makes the capacitive screen respond more smoothly and quickly. The device comes with 3GB internal storage capacity which provides a large storage space for apps, photos, music, and videos and other documents and the storage can be expanded up to 32GB external storage via microSD card slot.

The device has Samsung app store which provide the user with ease in downloading and use of app from a large list of apps provided by Samsung itself. Google Play Store and Polaris Viewer are some apps provided to manage media and documents and a social hub app that manages the social networks and makes communication through messages and emails easy.

PERFORMANCE/ BATTERY LIFE

The Samsung Galaxy Pocket has a 1200mAh battery which provide a good backup. The speakers do not deliver good sound quality but the headphone works great in enhancing the sound quality and the 5.1 sound option offers a crystal clear audio quality only in headphone mode. The FM also works good and you can listen to any available frequency.

The Wi-Fi and the web browsing options on the device works properly and the apps downloaded from Samsung apps store works smoothly without any lags and crashes. The YouTube videos play smoothly with slight pixilation. Some apps like DJ Master Mix, Angry Birds, 8bit Ninja, and the games from EA Sports and Game loft gives a simple, lag-free and great experience.

The device is equipped with full QWERTY keyboard interfaced on 2.8-inch screen. The screen keyboard provide a little difficulty to those users who are not blessed with tiny fingers but a little easy in landscape mode.

VERDICT

The Samsung Galaxy Pocket can be worth if you are new to Android phones because it has a basic interface and features and the device is very responsive with no lags. The device costs Rs 8,150, which is a decent investment for this device.

Sony Xperia Sola is a nice mid-range Android smart phone now available in India. This device is equipped with 1GHz dual-core processor, 3.7-inch Floating Touch Display, 5MP camera and it works on Android 2.3 .

HARDWARE

Sony Xperia has a square design with a thin bottom differentiating it from its NXT series. It is a small device which has a sufficiently thin body of 9.9mm and weighs just 107 grams. It has a plastic body with soft touch finish for a better cover and gives a premium feel to the hand.

Xperia Sola consist of a 5MP camera with LED flash, Xperia branding and speakers at the back panel of the smart phone. At the right side, there is a volume rocker, two-stage dedicated camera button and a micro USB port. At the left side, there is a power button. Its top contains a 3.5mm audio jack and front panel has a trio of capacitive buttons placed below the 3.7-inch display.

All Keys and button placed on the Xperia Solo smartphone works smoothly and fine and offers no issues apart from the two-stage dedicated camera button which require more effort than normal to click an image.

DISPLAY

Sony Xperia Solo has 3.7-inch display with 854x480p resolution which gives a perfect view for basic web-browsing, playing casual games, and other daily tasks. The black and white colours are little dull but colour reproduction is fine and offers a decent viewing angles.

CAMERA

Sony Xperia Sola has a 5MP camera with a built-in LED flash which supports up to 720p video recording. The dedicated camera button clicks images even when the device is locked. Xperia Sola miss a front camera in the device which results in one of the con of the smartphone. The camera application on the smartphone has a number of options to click a fine image such as choose scene, white balance, exposure value, ISO etc.

The performance of the camera is really up to our expectations and performs quite well but the built-in flash does not performs its task well. The images clicked were washed out and had a white layer on them.

SOFTWARE/ INTERFACE

Sony Xperia Sola has a custom interface with a Gingerbread on-board having Android 2.3. The interface is beautiful with subtle animation and effects. The device is minimal and do not consume much processing power. It also has an ability to create folders and fine screenshots.

Xperia Sola has a pre-loaded apps which add value to the consumer experience. It include Timescape, TrackID, Timer, Stop Watch, Recommender, World Clock, WisePilot, Neo Reader, and Office Suite apps which provides a full featured hub for social network feeds.

PERFORMANCE/ BATTERY LIFE

Xperia Sola is the first smartphone having Sony’s new Floating Touch Technology, which provides user a smooth navigation over the web by using the finger on the screen as a cursor without direct interfacing the options on the screen.

The device runs on ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 dual-core processor, which ensures smooth functioning without any lag in multitasking, switching home screens and playing games.

The Xperia Sola provides a great connectivity options on the device through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and DLNA. The connectivity and network reception is decent and smooth. The Battery backup is not up to the expectations. The device can get through a day without charging for a moderate users only.

Price

It’s priced at Rs 20,449.

Quick Specs

Battery:

Well I am a big fan of Animations and whenever I am free I just search the web for some cool animations. Here is a list of some animations that I think as a human being and reader of create it witty you MUST watch. The sequence is in random order and so just go on ad watch them and enjoy them. Share with us your likes and dislikes and if you want some of your animations to be featured over here.

Animator vs Animation

Now this is my personal favorite Animator vs Animation,by Alan Becker, is a stick figure animation. Yes a stick figure animation that is so brilliantly crafted that you are sure to fall for it. Animator vs Animation revolves around a fight between the Animator and the notorious Animation that he creates.

In my earlier post i have discussed how you can bypass the Cyberoam Firewall to access the blocked websites. But then one of the biggest questions that still remained, Can we bypass the usage limit set by the Cyberoam admins. Well now I have the answers for you that how you can bypass Cyberoam usage limit and download unlimited data at a much improved speed.

So what will this trick do :

Well very often the Cyberoam admins put a bandwidth limit on each users account so as to control how much data transfer can be made from a single account in 24 hr. In my case the limit was set to 200 MB. This trick gave me a way to bypass this bandwidth limit and download as much as i wanted.

So what are the tools required :

Well for this tool you’ll need following software :

TOR : Tor is a free software and an open network that helps you defend against a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security known as traffic analysis.

Download

A separate web browser, that is other than the portable Firefox that comes with the tor

That’s it if you have these you are good to go.

So how to Bypass Cyberoam Usage Bandwidth Limit :

Well all you have to do is to follow the simple steps below:

Open the web browser and login with your username and password to the Cyberoam client. Remember this is necessary that you are able to login to the Cyberoam client for Tor to connect.

Open Tor by double-clicking the Start Tor Browser.exe file. Wait for it connect and then it will launch the portable Firefox.

Once the browser(portable Firefox) is launched now you can check the connectivity by opening any site over there.

Voila, you have done it now you can logout of the Cyberoam client that you had opened in the other browser and continue browsing in the portable version of the Firefox launched by the Tor.

Note: Browse only using the portable Firefox of the tor browser or you’ll have to again login to the Cyberoam client.

And what about the speed boost:

Well here are a few tricks to boost your internet download speed when in a Cyberoam firewall.

While you are downloading a file use a download manager like IDM and when the download starts logout of the Cyberoam client to see the significant increase in the download speed. (up to 3 times).

Note: these worked for me and my friends too so will work for you do comment to tell us if it worked.

NASA the premier institute in space research has once against given us a beautiful surprise by releasing an amazing 64 MP 8000×8000 Photo of Earth.NASA images of Earth, are released in high-resolution time and again. The first was taken by Apollo 17 and is known as the Blue Marble photo. Then again another very famous one was Blue Marble 2002, which many will recognize as the very familiar iPhone lock image. These images are also refered to as Blue Marble.

The 64-megapixel image was captured by the VIIRS instrument aboard NASA’s most recently launched Earth-observing satellite — Suomi NPP.According to NASA, the image is a composite that uses a number of swaths of the Earth’s surface taken on January 4, 2012. Also dubbed as Blue Marble Next Generation, these new images are a result of improvements to the data-processing algorithms resulted in relatively noise-free images with few artifacts. The Blue Marble: Next Generation is a series of images that show the color of the Earth’s surface for each month of 2004 at very high-resolution (500 meters/pixel) at a global scale.
