Running out of idea for girls' night out / Family dinner place?
I have just visit this cafe in Setia Alam on boxing day and definitely love the food & environment.
Lots of parking space is available, so not to worry about it.
The Cafe environment is pretty comfortable, we went on boxing day so the music playing on that night is all classic christmas song.

The food is delicious & satisfactory.
The service is good. Waiter/waitress will always be around, we order a pot of tea and can easily get our pot refill & request for extra cutlery. All local staff, no language barrier in explaining.
Great Ambience - Comfortable and clean dining environment. Excellent music choice too!
The price range is acceptable, which is almost similar to most of the cafe in Klang Valley. No additional Service Charge & Government Tax. *Thumb up for that!
Plenty of parking space available! No hassle in looking for parking lot.

Breakfast is the first meal we have in our everyday life, we all know how important is this but how many people actually have a healthy breakfast to start their day?

A healthy breakfast doesn't have to be something expensive but something our body required to maintain it's excellent performance.
For Malaysian, we are spoilt with variety of breakfast choices, u can have Malay style / Chinese style / Indian style / Mamak style / Western style.... The list just goes on... Some people prefer to have a sip of joe or tea to start their day, while others prefer juices.

Studies however shows that milk is the elixir our body need for breakfast.
Milk contain calcium to develop strong bones and teeth. It is also a key for locking in bone mass for adult. Not only that, there is also a range of essential nutrients present in milk.
After 8-12 hours from your last meal a glass of milk provides the nourishment your body needs in the morning to regulate itself.

We all know the benefit of milk, but how many people actually consume enough milk for calcium?

For working adult like myself, i don't have long hour in the morning to prepare those complicated/challenging breakfast. Most people will probably skip breakfast because they are late, or they simply don't have the practice of having breakfast but not for me. I will always have breakfast no matter how late/busy i am. If i happen to wake up early then i will take a little sweet time to enjoy my breakfast before heading out. If i'm in a rush i will just grab a milk/bread for breakfast. I've never skip breakfast because that makes me sick.

I recently participated in the Dutch Lady 7days milk challenge! I felt happy because milk is my favourite drink for breakfast. I usually consume milk 3-4 times a week (because i'm not in the growing stage, taking more milk will just make me grow horizontal)

T-Box Sungai Lembing

Sungai Lembing is a famous little town in Kuantan District, Pahang. The old tin mining town in the late 19th century has lost it's popularity since mining activities stop in the late 80s. Younger generation have moved to cities in search of job, the town has lost it's glory.

Today, Sungai Lembing has risen as a popular local tourism spot. Most checked-in spot includes Bukit Panorama (Panorama Hill) for sun rise and the Rainbow Waterfall.

Recently (not very recent, about a month ago) my colleague and i spent a night at this old town. A weekend trip is enough to explore this place and recharge to fight Monday blue~

We have choosen T-Box homestay, a fairly new accommodation Sungai Lembing. (Huge construction project still on-going during our visit. More units to support the demand)

The surrounding environment is pretty nice and quiet at night. Each cottage is near to each other but not connected, so we have all the fun we wanted in the room without any worries!
BBQ spot is also available if you are interested to have some fun with extra charges. (but we did not opt for that)

My Point of View

It does reduce blackheads on my face.
The foam is mild and soft, but with exfoliate effect! *suitable for people with sensitive skin*
The effect is visible!
Relatively easy to carry around especially travel. (Individually packed). I can just simply grab 1-2 capsule and bring along for my vacation.
Will try for about 1-2 times a week as it's an exfoliate product, not recommended to use on daily basis. (There might be other version of usage instruction online.

Peranakan is a blend of two cultures between the Chinese and Malay ethnicity.
It started when 500 men accompany Princess Hang Li Po to Melaka(Melacca) to marry the Sultan of Malaka. (circa 1400) They continues to stay at Malaya and married with the local Ladies and the heirs is call the peranakan (娘惹）The man is called Baba and the women is called Nyonya (or Bibik for married woman)
The peranakan have chinese name, speaks a malay dialect at home and pray the chinese style. The traditional wear of peranakan is Baju Kebaya which is also the uniform for our national carrier (MAS) air stewardess.
The peranakan food is a famous among all Malaysian as it's a fusion between Chinese and Malay style but non-halal. as some of the dishes is cooked with pork.

Few peranakan museum can be found in Malaysia and Singapore. I went to the Pinang Peranakan Mansion, a symbolic lifestyle of a rich Baba about a century ago. Antiques and collectible of the era can be found here too. This is also a popular venue for wedding photoshoot and local movie set.
The mansion was built by Chung Kwee Kee (Kapitan or Chinese Captain) around 19th Century, who gain his fame and wealth through tin and mining business. He is also a leader for the Hai San secret society.

Holika-Holika Pig-nose Clear Blackhead 3-Step Kit

This is my first try on Holika-Holika product. I have heard about this famous product for some times and finally get to try it out and i'm Lovin the result!

Step 1 : Enlarge pores

Step 2 : Removes Blackhead/Whitehead

Step 3 : Tighten Pores, Smoothes Skin

After Cleansing, place Step 1 on nose for 15-20 minutes. The texture is similar to sheet mask but i feel slight burning effect (i guess probably i have too many clogged on my nose area).
Remove it slowly and wipe off any blackhead or impurities from pores.

Wet nose with water and place Step 2 on nose. Step 2 is a nose strip, which is quite similar to the usual nose strip on the market but the result from holika-holika is amazing!
After 10-15 minutes, slowly remove the strip from the edge. (The strip would be dried up by then)
*i love the feeling of peeling off those blackhead/whitehead from my face!

Lastly, place Step 3 on nose for 10-15minutes. The jelly layer give me a feeling of pig skin?? (I'm not sure what it's made of though) It's very slippery (check the water drip on my cheek), have to adjust it few times. This step is to minimise the pores. Gently tap it after removal to assist for better absorption.

The next picture is gross, it's the peeled off nose strip. i can see lots of blackhead/whitehead eliminated. The result is more obvious than the other nose strip i've tried before (although i don't usually use it maybe just once or twice a year.. hehe)

Satisfied with the result! Will definitely recommend this to anyone who needs blackhead removal as kit is also easy and fun to use but you probably need to spend 45 minutes to an hour trying it out.

Review :

The drink is good.. I love the Rose Latte, i never knew adding roses to coffee is such awesome! (Rose chocolate is a good choice too)
Variety of drinks (mostly caffeine) and cakes. I tried the Blueberry cheese cake and is not bad, is pretty soft.
Service is good and very convenient in making orders as well as amendment because all the staff are locals.
Clean dining environment but is very noisy (due to echo i guess). Pretty hard to start a small talk. Hope they can improve in this aspect.
The price range is acceptable, which is almost similar to most of the cafe in Klang Valley.

Review :

The food is acceptable. Additional point for having GNOCCHI~ The menu is just like a typical cafe but with additional option of extra expresso shot and collagen drinks. The pastry choices are attractive too~
The service is fast but the waiter get confuse with our orders. The cafe is pretty crowded so it's understand that each waiter have to serve lots of table and might get a little confuse with similar order. But the waiter is prompt to take order when you are ready though *thumb up*
Comfortable and clean dining environment. The whole cafe looks pretty clean but the echo is strong. Although the set up is pretty comfortable but the surrounding is noisy due to the echo.
Reasonable Price. (Free flow of water!) The food and drinks is not too expensive.
Take away counter is available. Convenience for a grab and go
Popular choices to celebrate birthday. I was just there for few hour and witness about 5 group of people celebrating birthday. I guess is because of the long business hour. *young people like me can stay till late night!*

Not much special about this dish, is like white rice with curry chicken.

Nasi Pandan Ayam Berempah *recomended*
Every bite of rice filled with pandan aroma, and the marinated fried chicken taste great!

fruit rojak (contains pineapple, apple, cucumber, mango, sengkuang (turnip))

hmm.. the rojak sauce is quite watery, it would taste better if it's more thickened sticky.

Review :

The food is not bad after all. (not using any cheap ingredient)
Variety of pernakan cuisine. (it's very difficult to find an authentic peranakan cuisine in Klang Valley)
The service is still ok. The waiter/waitress is mostly foreigner which is not very helpful in taking order. They doesn't seems to understand very well if we make amendment in the menu.
Comfortable and clean dining environment.
The meal is quite pricey. Even a glass of water cost RM1! (if you want to debate about the location then i have nothing to say. But is definitely not an affordable choice)

I don't remember when was the first time i had Sushi Tei, but i still remember my companions (it was when we were doing A-Level!)

It was the branch at The Garden that we first tried and today, i went there again. (with a different gang of people- the gang that love sashimi so much~ (except one.. hahaha))

The usual hot green tea for Japanese dining. (Sorry, i cannot accept cold tea. something's wrong with my mind. LOL)

this is my first try for cold ramen, surprisingly, it taste really good with sesame dressing.

Review :

The food (especially sashimi) is fresh.
The service is great. We encounter 2 issue while dining. First, my friend feel the soy sauce taste weird so we ask the waiter what's wrong with it. We heard the waiter were asking among themselves who refill the soy sauce yesterday (they might have mix up the sweet sauce with the soy sauce when refill). Then, they recall back all the soy sauce from all the table and change it. *my friend feel so proud, since morning until then no one tasted the difference.* Secondly, we found a hair in the ramen and we request for a change and the waitress gladly change a new one for us.
Comfortable and clean dining environment.
Reasonable Price.
The waiting time is not too long. We went there around 1.30pm (still lunch hour and is weekend) but we waited in line for only about 5minutes.

This is my first visit to Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant although i have heard many good review about it sometimes ago but i only get to try it now! *so outdated!*

We wanted to have a birthday dinner with Shereen but haven got any idea where to go, so let's just try out this Daorae Korean BBQ at SS2! (because is nearer to our place)

The food is delicious and fresh. Lots of side dishes choices!
The service is awesome. Waiter/waitress will always be around, so convenience to refill side dishes and vege. (Side dishes is so important in Korean food esp. Kimchi!!! i can ate up to 3-4 plates of Kimchi alone!)
Comfortable and clean dining environment. Even with BBQ under A/C condition, it doesn't smell smoky at all. The waiter will help us to BBQ our meat (i guess most korean BBQ is providing this service beacause it's hard for the customer to cook the meat to the right medium) and after done with BBQ, they will take away the charcoal so you won't feel the heat right on your face with you dine.
Reasonable Price. (Free flow of water/tea!) Recommended!

Once i step into the restaurant, my mood is so on. The music and the surrounding lighten up my dining experience. *good choice of music but why playing Donald Duck cartoon?! not match at all... LOL*

This is my first dining experience at Morganfield's. Heard lots of review about this place from friend and we just went to try during the Raya weekend. Didn't follow the crowd balik kampung or go vacation (because i need to work on Hari Raya, no holiday for me) so we just hang out together.

Spicy Asian BBQ Spare Ribs
Signature BBQ sauce mixed with Asian spice and chill flakes served with french fries and oriental salad.

The meat is really huge and juicy. You will have to take time to chew and enjoy ur food.
I don't really like the oriented salad, because the chips on top of it suppose to be crispy is not crispy. *LOL*
We have 5people to share a full slab. *too many meat.....*
It would be great to have a huge group of people dining together (the more the merrier) so you can try out different type of meat/flavour.

The award winning recipe surely get you to beg for more, served with onion ring and coleslaw.

The baby pork rib is so tender and juicy, it melts in your mouth! What's more can you ask for?
Definitely my favourite meal of the night!

The meat is grilled to perfection, not too hard or raw. (you could probably try on this if you have less people in a group)

New Chapter of life

After experiencing 2months of unemployment & fully relaxing at home, i finally got myself a job. Having to readjust my unhealthy biological clock after months of no day no night (无日无夜）, no different between weekday/weekend (it make no difference to me except i get to spend more time with my mom and siblings on weekend.) is quite a challenge. I have used to sleep around 1-2am after watching drama/movie, wake up anytime i feel like to... *spoiled* But now... a different story...

I was lucky because i have a BFF that got unemployed by the that time too... *i shouldn't be happy about that because getting a job under current circumcision is too difficult*
We sent hundreds of application (maybe not even a quarter of it. LOL), been to few interviews, always stay positive about getting a good news.

Being Optimistic is so important!

Other than that, we went for sports few times a week. We went swimming, jogging, badminton & 健康操. I went to gym myself when we did not go for sports someday. OMG, i feel so healthy then. How to maintain the healthiness after work?!
I'm serious about being healthy, i feel my facial skin is better, more radiant and less pimples. my body system is better too and improvement in stamina as well... (这样的年纪了才开始运动。。。无言）

About my new job, my scheduled working hour is 9-6pm but no one ever get back on time! Sometimes during peak season (many people on leave/ large transaction volume, etc.) my colleague have to stayed up till 11pm. Hopefully i don't have to stay up till so late la *pray*
I know people in my department is very hardworking and always need to work OT... (working life = no life?)
Hope i can cope with the heavy (Super Heavy) workload. Wish the best for me...
My team member is will be on Raya leave this week... and i have to take over most of her job...
i just started to learn all this shit for only a week and then i'm on my own... *STRESS*

Here is my working desk.. Looks so professional with 2screen but... just the same daily routine.. i think i might get bored with the job so soon.... LOL

I'm taking the LRT and RapidKL bus to work everyday... So i'm consider an environmental friendly OL... OL life is not as fun as u watch from drama.. LOL
Oh ya, my department public holiday followed Hong Kong public holiday... so..... I still have to work on most of the Malaysia's public holiday.
Those who have the same day off with me and wanna meet up, we can have some catch up while others is working. Hahaha

Mississippi Avenue is quite a fun street to explore. Oregon is a green state, all the street is so clean and plants everywhere. Great for a relaxing walk.
Nice food and interesting shop to visit.
We spend about half a day in this avenue and it's our first visit here. Visiting non-tourist spot is one of the 'must do thing in our travel journal' *hahaha*

The environment of the cafe is really relaxing.

Shoes is not allowed in the cafe (leave your shoe outside please.), it is clean and comfortable. Suitable for small group gathering and chit chat.

The service is good (but a little slow) and the cake is delicious *most important*

Sungai Pandan Waterfall is situated about 25km (estimated 30Minutes drive) from Kuantan.
We again use Waze to locate our destination, which surprised us because we have to drive a little into the wood to reach the waterfall and it function very well in the jungle!

Sungai Pandan Waterfall is a budget weekend family gateway. (entrance fees is required but is very cheap)
We went on Sunday and is very crowded (very sunny too).
There is people picnic-ing, splashing, camping and relaxing everywhere.

The four woman Kuantan trip

It was a decent weekend, not any particular public/national holidays. We decided to take the wheel to Kuantan to visit one of our friend that is working there.
It wasn't a complicated plan as we were just travelling across state. (about 3hours drive) 3 of them rotate shift to be the driver for the round trip and i'm just the princess relaxing behind because i have no skill in driving. (just like how i did when i was in USA, all 3 of them rotated and i just relax/eat/sleep at the back like a boss.)
None of us actually drove/travel this route before so we rely solely on Waze which is very trustworthy. We arrive at all our destination safely.

We start our day with a heavy breakfast at Klang! We ate Bak out Teh, because we are Klang-ian.

Kemaman Kopitiam. (at Kuantan not Kemaman, sounds crazy? haha...)

The food is quite nice. The nasi kukus, and the curry chicken is really nice.
The service is very good. I did not went during lunch/dinner time so there is only about 3-4 tables being served and the service is fast and the waiter is polite and helpful.
It's not a cheap and affordable kind of kopitiam. As for the curry chicken with toast cost RM9++ which on my opinion is quite high end.

After lunch, we check in to our hotel. We spend a night at Vistana Kuantan City Centre. We had a wonderful stay and satisfy with the hotel service.

I found most of these snack in airport. Although the price is not cheap but is worth a try, is after all Only In Japan!

I am the kind of person that love to travel and would spend most of my money travelling around and on local food (not the luxury food). I believe that you can feel and understand more when you have been there than reading it from the stack of paper.

When i came back from my Work and Travel USA programme, i literally spent all my earning in the USA but i don't feel bad because i leave my foot print in more than 10 states in America! I'm proud of it. Money is something that you can earn in life but not youth or time.

I do have friend that have been working for some time but not willing to spend money on travel. He explain that money is hard to earn. (which have completely opposite mind with me, and i cannot understand at all)

What i can say is, different people may have different mind and commitment. We cannot expect others to understand and support us 100% but we just have to be confident on what we are standing for. Life is no regret.

I'm lucky to have a group of BFFs that love to travel. They are even crazy than me! *Blessed*

They would travel at least once oversea and few local short trip annually! (so how can i lose?? *sibeh kiasu*)

Sometimes we would share our experience and give some guidance/tips for the next person going to the place we visited.

Moreover, Travel together strengthen our friendship! What's more to ask for?!

Due to the overwhelming visitor (tourist) to the First Starbucks Store, the store also sell tumblers with it's unique (and extinct) logo and description.

The First Starbucks Store is located at the Pike Place Market ( not the 1st and Pike Street store)

We got confuse a little when we first saw the 1st and Pike Street Starbucks Store, but we finally realise this is not the first store after all.

We can conclude that everyone that visit this Starbucks Store is tourist... Because everyone will buy the mug/tumbler with 'First Starbucks Store' and the most important part of the store is they do not have chair/sofa/coffee table, which is contradict with all the other Starbucks store we know.

Usually, coffee time is relaxing time. We just want to have a comfy seat with quiet environment, enjoy a nice cup of coffee and do some reading. So this place is not that place. But they do sell all the drinks in the menu.....

SO, even without a detective thinking you can also guess all the people here are tourist.. *kiasu tourist*
Must buy a souvenir to prove i have been here. LOL

Oh ya, and must not forget to take a selfie with my drink from First Starbucks Store after the long queue. (100% kiasu tourist, 99% Asian)

Sentosa Island half day trip

Still in the mist of job hunting, and waiting for reply from all the company that i've sent.

*please hire me..... *

Before starting the hectic working life, i took few days off to Johor with my Ex-coursemate. During this short trip, we manage to visit Singapore for half day (that's because we woke up so so late, we were all playing games on hp the previous night... *Generation Y*)

We dint really did much over there, just try out the new Skyline Luge Sentosa and walk around the island.

Once is never enough

This is how the adventure looks like. Because we are not allowed to take picture on the ride, so i have to copy from the Sentosa Island attraction page

The first part of the adventure is taking the skyline (which is similar to chair lift we took for skiing) up a hill. You can see the view around the coast and the skyscraper while riding up.

The second part of the adventure is of course THE LUGE!!

The Luge is a fun-filled gravity thrill ride with a unique breaking and steering system. It's safe for all ages. All riders are required to wear helmet, and the staff will explain how the Luge works.

If you are not the adventurous type, u can choose to take the skyline back to the bottom. (I think the ticket will be cheaper)

We bought the 3rides ticket (3xSkyline + 3xLuge) at S$26 which is reasonable. *This is the normal price. *

This is a fairly new experience for me and my friends. We had so much fun and try to race each other (we are young people ma.. but watch out for kids and slow riders around)

After the Skyline and Luge adventure, we take the tram to tour around the island. The beach is so beautiful and relaxing. So we took a lot of picture (of the beach)

This summarise my escape to Singapore (Sentosa Island). We were on vacation mood, not rushing for anything. Just stroll around the island enjoying the breeze.

I feel that, as we aged, we are more keen towards relaxing vacation. I prefer backpack or self-planned vacation instead of joining and tour agency. With my self-planned itinerary, i can take my own time walking around places i love, eat the street food and take my sweet time to shop. It's ok if i miss out some "must visit places" because i'm satisfied.

1. Live in a place you never heard of (literally)
Have you heard of Whitefish (a small town in Montana)? I bet 90% of American never heard of this place either.

2. Live the local way

Take the public transport to places that you wanted to go and ask around for direction.
In Whitefish, We take the S.N.O.W. bus to work everyday and to ski up the mountain. Else, we just walk to anywhere we wanted to go. Everyone had walk to the supermarket, laundry, downtown, the lake. Some even tried walk their way up/down the mountain. Impressive!
We don't need to drive around like we used to in our country.

Shop at local supermarket/food store for food. We would buy the cheapest food or raw food to cook.

3. Work a job you might never ever consider

Everyone should at least work in customer relation/service field at least once in their life. Once you experienced the hard work, u can put yourself on others shoe before getting mad.
You never try, You never know
As a university student have you ever dream of being a housekeeper? a line chef? a casino dealer? a mascot? theme park worker?
Taking role of this job for few months let you have in mind how hard these people work.

I am proud to say that i am (was) a housekeeper!

4. Learn to appreciate small things around you.

You get to slow your lifestyle and start to enjoy everything around you. You will learn to stop, take a glimpse of the nature and it's environment.

A random rainbow that appear out of no where, watching sunset on the way home from work, snowing when you step out from your comfort crib, a simple thank you from someone you helped....... all this very tiny details in our life that we may not notice during our busy school/work day will mean so much!

5. Affordable Travel

When you don't have to convert everything (i mean everything) back to your home currency and thinking how expensive everything is (even milk?!)

Earning and spending the same currency bring things back to balance and most importantly, you will start to plan your budget so you still have pennies left to survive till your last day.

If you are not joining the Work & Travel Program, travel for a months will be super expensive.
During our month long travel around USA, we used train, bus, flight, subway, taxi. Whichever that take us to our destination with the lowest cost. For some places (New Orleans for example, do not have convenience public transport. So we have to take the cab to the town.)

6. Homesick

Well, at least a certain point you will start to miss your home, your family, your favourite home food.

It's sometimes good that you are separated away from home and you start to thinking how awesome is your parents/sibling/friends.

You won't realise it when you get to contact them so easily anytime, get to eat all those delicious hometown food all the time

7. Learn something new

You are at a new place, pick up some local sports/hobbies that you never get to chance to do it at your home country.

As i'm working and living in a ski town, i get to learn ski and snowboarding and i'm still alive!! very much alive! I'm not a sports person and it took me double the time to learn and excel compare to everyone else. (i know, kill me please)

8. You realise that you need to travel at least once a year

Once you started to travel around, you will find that YOLO and life is too short for only work.

Enjoying life, getting on adventure and get to go where you want to go is a priority.

9. You will be a master chef

Eating out is luxury and you absolutely cannot do that all the time. In order to save money, you will have to cook your own meal. Over few months of practice, you will be a chef when you go back to your home country.

10. Work Hard, Play Harder

When you are working, you are working. No slacking, using of mobile phone is not allowed and learn to get your job done within the time period.

After the work hour, it's party time! Off day is never a bored day. There is always something to do or somewhere to go~ maximise all the time abroad.

11. Be Responsible
I guess no further explanation is needed?!
When we join the program, We are dealing with few parties, our home country agent, visa sponsor, employer and landlord. Screwing up either party you will be in trouble.
Is not anything stress as long as you do what your are assigned to and avoid what you are not suppose to.
When you are in the program, you represent your country (like an ambassador). The local people might not know anything about our country and your are representing us. Anything you do affect the impression of them towards us.
But... chillax, it's about working holiday. Don't be too serious.. haha

12. Awesome Lifetime Friendship
We get to know other International Student working in the same place. Everyone live together as a big family and have lots of fun together. We do crazy things, things we will not do at home, together! We are kids here! haha..
