The Concept of MLM – A Synopsis

More often than not, the Network Marketing folks are found busy talking about everything that MLM is not, which is quite strange and perplexing to the neophytes of the trade. Paradoxical, isn’t it?

What exactly, then, MLM is?

It starts with a manufacturer who has a product line that it wishes to market to consumers. The main reason new companies choose to use MLM is that it usually costs millions of dollars/rupees of marketing expense to introduce a new product. And even then, the results may be disappointing because the competition for consumer dollars/rupees is so great.

Compared to conventional advertising and promotion, it costs a small fraction to introduce a product line through MLM. This means that start up costs are considerably reduced, and more money can be allocated to research and development. As a result, MLM products are generally, of excellent quality.

The concept is simple. An MLM company chooses a nucleus of enthusiastic people in key areas across the country to learn about the product and the business opportunity it represents. The company, then, depends on these people to literally “SPREAD THE WORD”. Of course, there has to be motivation for these original “Sponsors” to become disciples for the company and its product(s).

{The motivation is that it is a well known fact that the people who introduce an MLM company into an area, have a good chance of making a great deal of money- provided, of course, that the company is stable.}

The company provides you as an individual, an opportunity to build an organization (sometimes referred to as your “Downline”) by sponsoring four or five committed people who will also “reproduce” themselves by sponsoring another four or five equally committed people. This continues for four, five, six and even seven “levels” in some companies.

Sponsoring a person in your MLM organization means that you bring them into the organization as Distributors of the product. The key to making huge sums of money is that you collect commissions and bonuses for the products sold by everyone you bring into your organization plus the people they sponsor.

A little arithmetic will tell you that after five “levels” of four people each (as per basic plans), your organization, theoretically, can contain as many as 1,024 people at the fifth level itself, following the pattern of (4x4)- 16 people on the second level and (4x16)- 64 people on the third level etc.

By nature, people thrive and live in social groups. They follow a leader until they gain enough experience and confidence to challenge for leadership, themselves or start their own group. I could dump two tons of the greatest new Super Vitamin 2000 on your driveway, but unless you knew how to market it to the right people, you wouldn’t make a dime. The money is not in the product. It is in knowing how to market the product!

The entire point of building a network marketing business is to create well-educated distributors who can market and acquire a large base of happy product customers who have nothing to do with the business.

If you feel like tossing this aside as being ridiculous or impossible- don’t! I have personally met people earning $ 50,000 to $ 100,000 a month (Yes - I said MONTH) and even more! In many cases, they have been able to earn five figures monthly within one year of joining an MLM company. In INDIA, as well, I have, personally met people earning Crores of rupees from an MLM business. I don’t know of any other type of business that offers this potential. Do you?

MLM seems to be the great economic leveler. Some of the biggest earners are unsophisticated, non-business people. In fact, some of them never finished High School. In India, I’ve seen completely uneducated (“Angutha-Chhaap”, as it is called in Hindi) people earning more than 2-3 Lakhs rupees a month. Most of them had little or no money to start their businesses when they began in Multi Level Marketing, even in the West. Believe me, friends, I have really seen lives changing overnight, thanks to the revolutionary and miraculously powerful business of MLM.

Most Networkers are like home builders except when they fail to build their house; they go back to the tool store and try a new hammer. When that doesn’t work, they go do it again and again. (Like trying dozens of opportunities and lead companies…). If they would only realize that it is the skill and knowledge of the person swinging the hammer that mattered, and not the company or the comp plan.

Where Do MLM Companies Pay the Distributors From?

The key to these earnings is the fact that MLM companies save the usual fifty or more percent of gross income that conventional firms continuously spend on marketing. This money is, therefore, available to pass on to Distributors in the form of commissions and bonuses. Very little or no advertising is done by the MLM companies, although individual distributors may advertise on their own for other distributors and/or retail customers. Distributor kits, sales aids and literature, product packing plus cost of traveling to the key areas for opening seminars and training programs are the major marketing expenses- and even these expenses are borne by the distributor network.

Inference:

The bottom-line of MLM is that it works.

The concept is so simple that many intelligent people find it difficult to accept and wind up considering it a fraud or scam. However, one of the truths about MLM is that it is simple, but NOT EASY. Your network of contacts is the name of the game. MLM is a people business.

MLMers call it “sharing” the product and the opportunity. Another very appropriate name for MLM is Network Marketing because it is through one’s own business and personal network of people that an organization is built. If you know people who believe in you or in the company you represent, and the products it sells, and they are ready to commit themselves to becoming distributors for the sake of their own Financial Freedom, you could be on your way to a fortune. The key is to make absolutely sure that they are committed to buying the product and finding other good people to sponsor- which is exactly what you must do, On a Regular Basis…

I’ve been at my learning best ceaselessly ever since I started my career about seventeen odd years ago, and have found it all utterly conducive to my present personal capacities and have always helped me be a cut above the rest in the marathon for success in life. Here’s a synopsis of the simple but pretty potent things that I’ve been learning, for you…

Taking Care of You:

1. Drink plenty of water.

2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.

3. Eat more fruits and vegetables and eat less that is manufactured in processing plants.

4. Avoid eating food that is handed to you through a window.

5. Live the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy.

6. Play more games.

7. Read more books than you did in 2009.

8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.

9. Sleep for 7 hours.

10. Take a 10-30 minute walk daily. And while you walk, smile.

Your Outlook:

1. Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

2. Don’t have negative thoughts of things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

3. Don’t overdo. Keep your limits.

4. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

5. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip.

6. Dream more while you are awake.

7. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

8. Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind others of their past mistakes.

9. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

10. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.

11. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

12. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

13. Learn a new word every day.

GIVING UP, ALREADY!!!

Giving up, already?

Quitting is easy. When things are difficult, most people simply give up. They don’t have the vision to keep going when it gets tough. The unfortunate thing about giving up is that after you give up once, it becomes easier to give up a second time. This can lead to a third time and before you know it, you have made it a habit.

You can’t get away from failure and rejection if you want to make something of yourself. This is life, and it happens from time to time. This is where ‘working on your internal communication’ comes in.

Brush through your history books and you will be served with countless stories of both men and women who knew the importance of perseverance and of the warnings of those who gave up!

Did you know that Walt Disney was turned down 302 times before the bank lent him money to build Disneyland? Walt had a vision, and stayed committed to fulfilling it and he made what is today known to be ‘The Happiest Place on Earth’.

Colonel Sanders was in his sixties when he decided his social security check wasn’t enough to live on and went to market his great idea. What was it? A chicken recipe that he thought everyone would want. He went from restaurant to restaurant asking everyone if they would use his recipe, and they thought that he was crazy and so was his recipe. Finally, after hundreds of rejections, somebody gave him a nod, and the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) was born.

When we think of Thomas Alva Edison, did you know that he failed over 9999 times in the process of inventing a light bulb? He said, “Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent, perspiration!” In the beginning Dr. Seuss was rejected by twenty-eight publishers. The publishers considered his books “too outlandish to appeal to children”. In its first attempt to send a rocket to space, NASA failed 20 times. Would you have kept trying after hundreds of failures? Unfortunately, most people wouldn’t.

Sometimes, you won’t be able to see what lies ahead. Sometimes you’ll question yourself. Sometimes, you’ll look into the tunnel, and you won’t be able to tell whether you see the sunlight at the other end of the tunnel or a train is coming right toward you. Sometimes you get discouraged and confused when you can’t see the solution. This is all part of the process.

If you really want something, the entire universe will conspire for you towards achieving it. But it will take great persistence. Anything that is given consistent attention will grow.

Michael Jordan once said, “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions, I have been entrusted to take the game-winning shot…and missed. I have failed over and over again in my life and that’s why… I succeed.

Hence, my dear Success-Seeker! In a nutshell, the entire phobia about failure lies in your mind. If you think, you can, you will, but only if you’re ready to sustain your attempts, ‘unconditionally’, at what you really ‘want’.

For more than half a century after India gained independence, we tried to do things in a manner that failed to produce the desired results. But things have suddenly changed. There is a lot that needs to be done. But there is a lot that has started to happen.

The factors responsible for the upsurge in the Indian fortune have been:

1. Exposing Indian industry to global competition and doing away with licensing provisions,

2. Allowing industries like software to operate with minimum legal hassles,

3. Easy availability of low-interest consumer credit coupled with stringent recovery procedure,

4. Rising aspirations of the masses due to media explosion.

Paradoxically, factors like consumerism, competition and ambition have done what talks on spirituality, Swadeshi and tradition could not. Yet ‘some people’ just don’t want to change. They continue to behave in a manner that serves their purpose. They take shelter of relative concepts like religion, morality and patriotism. They try to instill fear of the future in the minds of the younger generation.

We, my dear friends, can never achieve perfection. Anything pursued to an illogical proportion, turns negative. This does not mean we should not strive for perfection. This simply means that we must learn the art of balancing.

What is it that we are missing? What is it that needs to be corrected? There seems to be an attitude problem, as if we cannot shake ourselves out of a mindset of limited achievement.

Materialism has many negative aspects. But we have to use our judgment and choose between pursuing bread and pursuing ‘Mandir/Masjid’ – when about one-fourth of the population sleeps hungry. Youngsters today may not worship the goddess Lakshmi everyday, but they honestly and aggressively pursue money. They may not be interested in gifts and charities. They are more interested in earnings.

After having earned their fortune, they don’t mind attending an ‘Art of Living’ session to gain peace of mind. At least, now, they can afford to be free from the thought of money.

We are almost there as global leaders in the export of spirituality. Since we have immense knowledge base in this field, some of it will go in taking care of our own youngsters. Teach them the values of integrity and honesty, train them in channelizing their youthful energy in the right direction and allow them to pursue their dreams vigorously.

Therein lays the hope for India – in the ambition, dreams and aspirations of the youngsters, who are not afraid of the competition. Rather, they are making the competition afraid of them, as umpteen numbers of glaring examples that our countrymen and women produce on a regular basis in multifarious fields, demonstrate.

Hardly anyone in the world would have imagined that the outstandingly worthy sons and daughters of Mother India, which was mercilessly plundered and exploited by the oppressive rule of the foreigners for centuries together, would be among the coveted list of the Top Ten Richest Persons on earth, over barely half a century after independence.

If there ever was a right time to be born an Indian, it is now! God willing, we shall live to see India as a global economic superpower by the year 2020.

But hope alone is not enough. Actions are necessary. There is no worse crime than letting an opportunity go by, unexploited. If we do that, future generations will not forgive us.

A great nation cannot abandon its responsibilities. Responsibilities abandoned today return as more acute crises tomorrow.

It’s been quite some time since I last shared a little secret of success at ‘Leadership’ with you, my dear friends! Hence, let me talk about the same with you today. It’s the sine-qua-non of being a good leader to go into the details of any given situation in order to comprehend the same to the T. An average person is not interested in going into the details of a situation. So he argues that he is interested only in practical knowledge. Any effort to educate such a person about “why” and “what” of a situation is ridiculed and labeled as boring theory.

It is true that theory alone is not enough. Practice is necessary. Knowing “how to….” is essential for the execution of a job. However, the practice will not be perfect without theoretical knowledge. Moreover, learning a skill is easier compared to decision-making. Visionary people know ‘why’ something must be done and they only decide ‘what’ needs to be done. Average people feel satisfied with learning a skill and think it to be enough.

Naresh Goyal of Jet Airways doesn’t probably know how to fly an aircraft but he owns the company.

Remember: In order to grow in your career, apart from learning technical skills, you must also have a vision, an analytical mind, decision-making abilities and a definite involvement in the affairs of the organization you belong to. You must be a thinker and you must learn the ‘whys’ and ‘what’s’ too.

As you plan a course of action towards accomplishing your goal, keep in mind the small goals that put you closer to the end, which is something that I’ve always advocated repeatedly, right since the day one, here at my blog. And be prepared to change often since change is symbolic of progress.

Create an aura of success around you. People who are successful dress that way. Even if you're not in a high-income bracket, act as though you have already achieved - without being egotistical or overspending. Develop an expertise in an area. Don't keep special information to yourself, but be quick to learn all there is about your position and the tasks surrounding getting that job done.

Capitalize on your strengths, and let others help you develop your weaknesses into assets. Get to know the people in the company or the network and the people in the industry. Read all the trade journals and magazines relating to your company or trade. Make appointments with people who are successful in your field and learn from them.

You need to have a ‘Total Commitment’ to succeed in business. Most people who make it to the executive boardroom put in long hours, often at the sacrifice of everything else. Regardless of the physical effort involved, you must mentally be engrossed in your business and the company/business enterprises.

In order to help yourself develop fully, you might seek a mentor, someone who will offer you time and teach you the ropes. This person usually is someone who believes in your ability, someone who you can develop a mutually beneficial business relationship with.

Some people become friendly with all their co-workers and find that is a way to advance. But don't try to be extroverted if it's not real to you. Most people who successfully run their own businesses are individuals who like to work alone.

As you increase your activities and accomplishments, you increase your potential to reach higher. The more you achieve, the more confidence you develop to achieve more. You don't have to be the same as everyone else and fit like a vegetable in a patch.

Be unique, different. Capitalize on your own self-image. Don't fall victim to self-consciousness. And trust your intuition. Hunches and inner feelings usually are the best route to travel, regardless of what seems to be the logical choice.

Make decisions quickly and with firmness. A true leader will handle these responsibilities efficiently and you do want to be the one; don’t you! That's what makes you different and why you'll rise to the top. Be persistent in attaining your goals, but be open and sincere.

If you are having personal difficulties with any co-workers or team-workers, try to know more about these people from a personal angle. Be interested in them and their accomplishments and goals. You might be able to turn opposition into friendship i.e. the negatives into the positives. Imagine what a scenario that would be!

Above all, use your integrity. If the goal is not worthy of your inner desires, it will be hard to attain. If your methods are not sincere, you will face opposition. If your actions are not honest, you will suffer the consequences.

And, finally, the bottom-line, in a nutshell - Turn all negative qualities into positive aspects - then watch yourself achieve the Big Goal that you are striving for.

However, you haven’t gotten one single offer. What’s going on? Here are ten tips to increase your chances of getting a sponsored tweet.

1- Experience Counts

If you’re brand new to Twitter, then your chances of an advertiser ordering a paid tweet from you is slim to none. Your Twitter account should be at least 120 days old before applying to Sponsored Tweets as most advertisers simply will not buy tweets from any accounts that are younger than that.

The account age is valuable for advertisers to filter out spammers and low value Tweeters. If someone has a high number of followers and just recently created an account it may be reason for suspicion. If your Twitter account is brand new, don’t apply. Wait for your account to grow sturdy before applying.

2 - Have a Complete Twitter Profile

Advertisers like to know who they’re advertising with. If your Twitter profile is incomplete and still running the default background, don’t expect many orders. You don’t have to get a custom Twitter background, but you should make sure all your information is filled out. Make sure you upload your photo or custom Avatar as well.

3 - Add SponsoredTweets To Your Advertise Page

If you’re going to accept Sponsored Tweets, then you might as well tell your advertisers about it. You can use your blog/website’s advertise page to list the benefits of using your Twitter account to help get the advertiser’s message out. Then you can link to the Sponsored Tweets website so they can order.

4 - Show Some Tweet Click Stats

If you use Hootsuite as your Twitter client (and you should if you’re not), then you can take advantage of its built in stat tracking feature. This is a great way to show advertisers that your followers click on the links you send out.

5 - Turn On ClickWatch

ClickWatch is a program designed to provide a level of protection for advertisers who engage Tweeters in the Sponsored Tweets marketplace. When a Tweeter participating in ClickWatch makes a sponsored tweet, the system checks the click performance of that tweet after 48 hours. If the cost per click (CPC) for that tweet is above $1.50, the system will automatically schedule another tweet. The system will check performance again after another 48 hours and make a 3rd tweet if necessary.

Advertisers are lot more likely to order paid tweets from a Tweeter who has ClickWatch on rather than someone who has it off. You can turn on ClickWatch in your SponsoredTweets control panel.

6 - Monitor The Competition

Wondering if your paid tweet price is too high or too low? You can find out by checking out your competition. Sponsored Tweets maintain a list of tweeters and how much it costs to advertise with them. You don’t have to be an advertiser to view the list.

I’ve made three price adjustments to my tweet price since signing up with Sponsored Tweets. These adjustments help to maintain one’s competitiveness. SponsoredTweets gives you a recommended price when you first sign up. However, you don’t have to take it. The best way to set the price is to see what the competition is charging and then charge accordingly.

7 - Maintain Good Followers to Friends Ratio

When an advertiser views your Sponsored Tweets profile, they’re presented with some key information about you. One piece of info is the Ratio. This shows the number of people you’re following vs. the number of people following you. A Ratio of 1 means you follow the same number of people as the number of people following you. It can also mean you’re using auto following programs to inflate your follower count.

From an advertiser standpoint, the higher the Ratio number, the better. It tells the advertisers that your followers are following you because they want to hear what you have to say and not because you will auto follow them back.

8 - Sign Up for a Klout Account

Another stat Sponsored Tweets advertisers see is your Klout score. The Klout Score is a numerical representation of the size and strength of your sphere of influence on Twitter. The size of your sphere of influence is calculated by measuring true reach (engaged followers and friends vs. spam bots, dead accounts, etc).

The strength of influence is the likelihood that someone will listen or act upon any specific message and is measured by looking at interactions across the social graph. The scores range from 1-100 with higher scores representing a wider and stronger sphere of influence. Here’s the key. Unless you sign up for a Klout account, your score shows up as zero in the SponsoredTweets page.

9 - Build Real Influence

If you thought that the way to make money with Sponsored Tweets was to build a big list by auto following and unfollowing thousands of people, think again. Advertisers are not dumb. They know how that game works. They’re looking for Tweeters with real influence. That means you actually have to work to build up your Twitter profile instead of letting a program do it. It means you have to get people to follow you because they want to follow you and not because you’ll auto follow them back. When you have real influence, you’ll have a lot more of offers, you’ll command a higher price per tweet and you’ll be able to do step 10.

10 - Apply for Celebrity Status

When advertisers search for Tweeters to advertise with, Sponsored Tweets list the stars and web celebrities first. It goes without saying that being listed on the first page will give you a lot more exposure and therefore a lot more offers.

Sponsored Tweets monitors new Tweeters as they sign up. If they recognize your name they will automatically upgrade you to Internet Celebrity. If not you will need to fill out a form. Pass along things like your Wikipedia page, Blog, You Tube Channel or other relevant sites. Having a bunch of followers on Twitter does not automatically make you a Web Celeb. Acceptance into the program requires influence, visibility and marketability. If you can’t get celebrity status, then ask to be a “staff pick” as they’re listed right after web celebrities.

Be Prepared!

Dear friends, in India, parents are generally over-protective of their children. The worst damage that we can inflict on our children is to protect them from the experience of pain and suffering. Most people are thus under-prepared to face the hardships of life.

While mulling over this significant aspect of an individual’s grooming for his/her future, I am invariably reminded of a highly effective anecdote that was narrated to me by our Guru ji, Shri R B Giri, when I was a student of the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Port Blair. I always love to share it with all my audience.

Once upon a time, a King sent his son to an ashram of a learned guru. The prince stayed in the ashram for 12 years. One day the king received a message from the guru that the education of the prince was over and he could come and collect the prince. The king went happily to the ashram and was pleased to note that the prince had grown physically, intellectually and spiritually the way he had wanted. After the graduation ceremony was over and the king had paid the guru handsomely, he started to leave with the prince.

Suddenly, the guru ran towards them and twice hit the prince ferociously with his cane. The prince had tears rolling down his cheeks. The king was shocked to see the brutish behavior of the guru. However, he controlled himself and said, “O learned one! A moment back, you were all praise for the prince. I don’t see any mistake that the prince has committed in the meanwhile to deserve such severe punishment. Will you please explain?”

The guru said, “The prince has not committed any mistake. I am confident that one day he will become as great a king as you are. However, through these last few days, I was having a feeling that I have missed out on something. Thank God I could gain the insight in time. I forgot to impart the experience of pain and suffering. Without this knowledge, he would have been ill-prepared for hardships that life may inflict upon him. He would also not have the ability to relate to the sufferings of others without experiencing pain himself. O great one, I am sorry to make you witness the unpleasant ordeal. But I am now satisfied that his education his complete in all respects.”

Hence, to a great extent I believe that Indian parents will do well to follow the message of the story and allow their children some exposure to a life of struggle and pain.

A healthy person, after all, is not one who is free of problems, but one who is in a position to deal with them. Am I right or wrong?

We don’t learn and grow through pleasure. Do we? We learn through failures, adversities and painful experiences. All those of you out there, who have tasted different degrees of success and accomplishment in multifarious ways in life, have been able to do so invariably and irrefutably through a series of failures, disappointments, sufferings and setbacks. But you didn’t ever give up and toiled, tirelessly, your way to success, no matter which walk of life you came from.

How To Build Your Self Confidence

One of the most important steps to achieving your Goals in life is to develop a strong sense of self confidence. This does not however involve becoming loud or arrogant. On the contrary, people with genuine self confidence are usually calm and self assured and do not need to 'big note' themselves.

Here are my Top Ten Tips for building your self confidence:

1. Visualize Yourself as the Person You Want To Be

Each morning, spend a few minutes visualizing yourself as the person you want to be. Think about the way you dress, the way you carry yourself and the way you interact with other people. Seeing yourself as the person you want to become is the first step towards building self confidence.

2. Self Confidence Statement

After visualizing yourself as the person you want to be, read the following statement out loud:

"I know I have the ability to achieve my major goal in life. Therefore today,
I demand of myself persistent and continuous action towards achieving my goal"

Reading this statement out loud is a great way to start your day with a confident state of mind.

3. Dress Well

One of the most effective ways to instantly improve your level of self confidence is to dress well and to make the decision to always be well groomed. This does not mean you have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe. Instead, just focus on gradually building up a small collection of good quality clothes. Also remember that simple accessories such as a tie clip or necklace can make a big difference to the way you look and feel.

4. Positive Posture

Another powerful way to build your sense of self confidence is to stand up straight and get rid of the slouch that many of us have acquired over the years. While you may be able to make a change to your posture by simply becoming aware of it, the best way to make a long lasting change to your posture is to practice Yoga.

5. Move with Purpose

A simple but effective tip for increasing your levels of self confidence is to always move with a sense of purpose. In his book 'The Magic of Thinking Big', David Schwartz recommends walking 25% faster than normal. Having a spring in your step lets people know that you have important things to do and actually makes you feel more confident as you go about your daily business.

6. Become a Participant

Have you ever noticed that in most meetings or groups, people immediately head towards the back of the room so that they can remain as inconspicuous as possible? A great way to increase your visibility and sense of self confidence is to make the decision to always sit towards the front of the room and be a participant. When you have something to say - don't be afraid to say it.

7. Connect With Confidence

Another way to quickly improve your self confidence is to practice making a strong first impression. When you meet someone face-to-face, look them directly in the eye (eye-to-eye contact), smile broadly (it’s contagious), shake hands firmly and say, "Hi Rahul, nice to meet you".

Similarly, you can sound more confident on the phone by answering, "Good morning, Anu Bharadwaj speaking" instead of simply saying "Hello…"

8. Build Your Success File

Occasionally, your self confidence will take a hit when something doesn't work out the way you hoped. One of the best ways to repair your self confidence in this situation is to keep a folder outlining your past achievements and successes (Or remember the “I AM” Board!?). You should also include any positive feedback or comments that you've received from others.

As you review your success file and fill your mind with positive comments, your doubts and insecurities will quickly disappear and your self confidence will be restored.

9. Be Prepared

The BIG secret to being self confident that people rarely talk about is - preparation. The more you prepare and practice for an event, the more self confident you will become.

If you are worried about an upcoming event, use your apprehension as a stimulus to take action and practice, practice, practice. The simple but powerful truth is that self confidence grows through repetition and experience.

10. Toastmasters

My final tip for developing self confidence is to join a Toastmasters group.

‘Toastmasters’ is a non-profit organization that helps people from all walks of life to develop their public speaking and leadership skills. In my experience Toastmasters offers a safe and relaxed environment to step out of your comfort zone and develop the invaluable skills of being able to think on your feet and speak in public.

So there you have it!

If you implement some or all of these 10 techniques, you'll gradually develop a greater sense of self confidence which in turn will help you to pursue and achieve your most important life goals, be it Multi Level Marketing (MLM) or any other field.

Silence Your Major Critic

Dear friends,

Imagine what would happen if you walked up to your best friend, looked them square in the eye and said, “You are stupid, fat and ugly!”

Chances are your friend would be deeply hurt by your words. In reality you would never do this because you value and care about your friend a lot. Nevertheless, this is often precisely what we do to ourselves on a daily basis.

We look into the mirror in the morning and think, “You look terrible!” Throughout the day, our internal self critic is continually yelling at us,

“You Idiot!
You have no self control!
You're Useless!
You can’t do anything right?”

Often the things we say to ourselves are far worse than anything we would ever say to anyone else! An important part of achieving success in life is developing a positive self-image and a strong sense of self-esteem.

A great way to do this is to create an “I AM” board. Here's how it works…

Find a quiet spot, sit down with a pen and paper and write down the things you see as your best qualities. This may be difficult at first because we are often not used to thinking positively about ourselves.

If you are stuck, think about the different roles you have in life e.g. Father, son, husband, mother, sister, friend etc. Also include your talents and the stuff you enjoy doing. Your finished “I AM” board should look something like this:

When you finish your “I AM” board, put it somewhere you will see it regularly, like next to your bathroom mirror or on the back of the bathroom door.

As you read your “I AM” statement each morning, you will find that your inner self-critic will begin to lose his or her voice. Your self-image will steadily improve and you will gain more of confidence to go after your dreams flat out.

Remember The Action Steps:

(1) Find a quiet spot and at the top of a blank sheet of paper write, “I AM”.

(2) Write down a list of your best attributes and character traits.

(3) Put your “I AM” board somewhere you will see it regularly and read it everyday.

(4) Be aware of your inner self-critic and every time you hear his or her voice, simply reject the negative thought outright and focus on who you actually are.

Hey, friends! One of the surest ways to achieve success in life is to become a leader in your chosen field of Network Marketing.
