Mount Sharp May be formed by Wind Deposites

A recent paper indicates that most of the material that makes up Mount Sharp was deposited wind. Mount Sharp is the 3.4-mile-high mountain in Gale Crater near where the Curiosity rover landed. This would include the two fan like structures. It now seems that Mount Sharp may have been deposited wind and subsequently eroded by water and thus it is consistent Gale Crater being subsequently flooded by an eruption of under ground water rather than being formed by the impact as previously theorized here even that would mean that they were air deposited rater than water deposited as JPL thought.

The possibility that Mount Sharp was deposited wind is fully consistent with the Catastrophic theory of Martian Geology since the massive volcanic activity and its triggering impact bombardment would have filled there Martian atmosphere with dust greatly increasing its pressure and causing lots wind so there are probably lots of wind driven sediments all over mars that were quickly deposited in the case of Gale Crater this included a subsequent eruption of underground water that eroded Mount Sharp resulting in what we see to day.

Lunar Water Came Earth

The ratio of isotopes of the various elements varies from planet to planet. Recently an isotopic analysis of water found in rocks brought back from by astronauts on the Apollo 15 and 17 missions shows that water has the same deuterium- hydrogen ratios as is found on Earth and quite different. Deuterium is a heavy isotope hydrogen. This suggests that the water originate on Earth. However some of these rocks are would probably have resulted from magma from the Moons interior. This indicated that the water what resent when the Moon formed.

This result is fully consistent with Young Earth Creation model of the origin of planetary magnetic field developed by Dr, Russell Humphreys. Based on the reference to the deep on in Genesis 1:2 he concluded the the Earth had started out as a ball of water. The water was later used by God to start the Earth's Magnetic field.

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and
darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of
God moved upon the face of the waters.

Based on Genesis 1:6 and Psalm 148:4 he further proposed that when the water was divided the water above was pushed out in to space some of it being used to form the planets ant the Moon on day four of creation.

Genesis 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the
midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

Psalm 148:4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters
that be above the heavens.

Being so close to the Earth it would be expected that he Moon's deuterium- hydrogen ratios would match those of the Earth. Thus we have here dramatic evidence in support of Humphreys' Young Earth model of planetary fields. A theory which has already had amazing success predicting planetary magnetic fields around the solar system including the observed decrease in Mercury's magnetic field.

The question that needs to be answered in determining if the Shroud of Turin is authentic is to determine whether or not it is consistent with Biblical account. To do so requires checking all four gospels to see what they say.

Thus it would qualify as "the napkin, that was about his head." It most likely would have been left in the tomb a place by itself in a because of Jewish tradition about the sanctity of blood. Not only do the blood stains on the Sudarium of Oviedo fit the face and blood stains on the Shroud of Turin but like blood on the shroud the blood on the Sudarium of Oviedo has been confirmed to be type AB human blood.

So the Shroud of Turin along wit the sewn on strip and the Sudarium of Oviedo are a perfect match to the Biblical description of burial cloths of Jesus Christ. Add to this the fact that that Shroud of Turin contains pollen that shows it was once in Jerusalem, and the consistency of the height of the shroud image with the finished burial place in the with the new dating of the Shroud of Turin to around the 1st century the best conclusion is that they are in fact the burial cloths of Jesus Christ. As such they stand as empirical evidence for the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sin and his resurrection not only validates his sacrifice but gives the Christian hope of resurrection which is a comforting hope while burying a Christian loved one. Accepting Jesus Christ's payment for your sin is an act of faith an while our faith in Jesus Christ does not rely on physical evidence the existence of such evidence, like evince for God creating the universe helps strengthen that faith.

New Claims of Earth Like Exoplanets Kepler-62e, Kepler-62f and Kepler-69c

The Kepler space telescope was found three so called super-earths that closes to being Earth like of any planets so far discovered called Kepler-62e, Kepler-62f and Kepler-69c. While these three worlds are the most earth like extrasolar planets found to date they are still far from being truly like the Earth. But evolutionary astronomers being ever hopeful are expressing increased confidence of eventually finding another planet with life on it.

Kepler-62e is about 1.6 times the size of the Earth and Kepler-62f is about 1.4 times the size of the Earth making it the smallest Habitable zone planets ever found. While they are with in their star's habitable zone it is also 20% dimmer than the sun and located 1,200 light years away.

Based on size they are probably rocky planets but that does not make them Earth like. Kepler-62e has a year of just 122 Earth days and Kepler-62f has a year of 267 Earth days, for comparison Venus has a year of 225 days. Now for these planets to have like Earth temperature they would have to have just the right amount of greenhouse effect from their atmospheres. Unless Kepler-62f has a high greenhouse effect any water on its surface would freeze and unless Kepler-62e has heavy clouds and little greenhouse effect it would be too hot for liquid water. So rather than being super-earths it is possible that Kepler-62e could be a super-venues and Kepler-62f could be a super-mars.

Kepler-69c is about 1.7 times and it is the smallest planet found with in the habitable zone of a sun-like star and it is about 2,700 light-years away however it's year is just 242 Earths days which is much closer to Venus' 225 Earth days than Earth's 365. In fact the above illustration shows that like Venus it is just on the inner edge of its star's habitable zone suggesting that it is most likely a super-venus rather than a supper-earth.

Sahara Became a Desert Quickly

It has been known for some time that the Sahara Desert once had a green wet climate. However a recent study has shown that it became a desert much quicker than previously thought. This study shows that the Sahara Desert went from a wet green climate to a desert in just 1-2 hundred years. Now the study dates this event at 6,000 years ago but accorder to Flood geology models based on the Biblical account it would have occurred 2,000 to 2,500 years later but the point is the speed at which it happened.

What is critical here is the fact that this study show that the the Sahara Desert went from a wet green climate to a desert in just a century or two about the time frame required Flood geology models. Now If you may be saying that the 1-2 hundred year time frame is based on the same models that date the event at 6,000 years. While that is true it shows that the Sahara Desert could have become a desert within a time frame consistent with the Biblical account. If you ajust the desertification time to 3,500 - 4,000 years of the Biblical Flood geology it produces a desertification time of 66-133 years at 4,000 and 58-117 years at 3500 years. This means that the time frame for the desertification of the Sahara Desert is consistent with Biblical Flood geology because the the estimated rates are within the bounds of the this study.

This thus prides additional support for Biblical account of creation and the Biblical time frame of 6-7 thousand years buy showing that the needed desertification time of the Sahara Desert is within a naturally feasible time frame.

Measurements of the distance to moon made using retro-reflectors left on the moon by Apollo astronauts has shown the moon is receding from the Earth at 3.82 cm per year. Measurements using atomic clocks have shown that an day is Earth are getting longer at a rate of 1.7 milliseconds per day per century.

Now it turn out that these two phenomenons are related to each other by way of the tidal forces between the Earth and the Moon. It has been know for decades that when these figures are plugged into the laws of physics that they show that the Earth moon system can not be more than about1.25 billion years old.

Such calculations are largely dismissed by those claiming that the Earth is 4.5 billion years old. They also point to paleontological data as evidence that the moon is receding and it is receding at a rate compatible with 4.5 billion years. These claims not only ignore alternative interpretations of the fossils and rocks in question but they usually use only one or two data points when multiple data point are used the scattering in the data is not what would be expected if it were really a result of the slowing of the Earth rotation.

It also turns out that when any model using a 4.5 billion year old earth-moon system is plugged into the same laws of physic they never produce the current Earth-Moon system with out significant tweaking and then the always come in below the paleontological data. This includes the currently accepted “Giant Collision Hypothesis of the Origin of the Moon.”

Furthermore when the same paleontological data is plugged into the same laws of physics it produces a maximum age for the Earth-moon system of about 2.067 billion years. Tweaking this model to make it reach 4.5 billion years requires putting an impossibly small delay time in high tide of less than 24 seconds.

There is simply no way of reconciling a 4.5 billion year old Earth-moon system with the laws of physics and the paleontological data claimed as evidence for the same. They simply do not and can not be made to match up. All of this makes a very strong case that earth-moon system can not be 4.5 billion years old.

Curiosity Finds Evidence of Past Sulfuric Acid

While it is be reported as evidence of past habitability of Mars, Curiosity's first drilled rock sample analysis actually shows evidence of past Sulfuric Acid. Like the Meridiani Planum region of Mars where the rover Opportunity landed, this sample shows significant levels of both sulfur dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide which are often a residue of Sulfuric Acid. According to Catastrophic Model of Martian geology the liquid water that was once present at Gale Crater would have been a consecrated Sulfuric Acid. Erosion patterns in the rocks had already indicated an acidic environment but the discovery of sulfur dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide clinches it. This is yet another successful prediction of the Catastrophic Model of Martian geology. So far this model has perfectly described what has been found at Gale Crater and is likely to continue to do so.

The Information Universe

While this article is called conclusions it is not the end of the Information Universe series just the conclusions of the planed part of the series. Has further developments come about the will be added.

The Information Universe is what is called a theory of every thing that is that its ultimate goal is explaining all of reality. It unifies General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics by quantizing space and time thus eliminate point singularities from existing at the center of black holes since the star can not shrink to less than plank length.

The main idea of the Information Universe is that the universe is fundamentally information. With matter itself being fundamentally information rather than bits of material stuff. This idea that the universe is fundamentally information has its roots in Quantum Mechanics with a number of physicists providing support the basic concept. The Information Universe is a specific model be developed from this basic concept and the General Grand Unification Model developed by Robert A. Herrmann Ph.D. retired Professor, Mathematics, of the U. S. Naval Academy.

The Information Universe views reality as being much like a video game where detailed information is calculated when needed by an observer living in this virtual reality. This why quantum particles some times behave like wave and other times behave like particles. It is the double slit experiment that show that what make the difference it availability of information to a conscious observer. At the hart of this view is the requirement that this information be calculated to produce change overt time in a massive information processing system that is much like computer program. The natural conclusion of this is that the universe was designed and programmed by a higher intelligence than can only be the being we know as God. The reason why the programmer can not be one or more human like beings is that the requirements of programming the detail of the observable universes requires more processing power than any possible material computer.

Developing a specific Information Universe model is a challenge but a needed goal to turn what is at its hart an interpretation quantum mechanics and theory of everything. One fundamental difficulty in any theory of everything is the scientific need for testability. By definition a theory of everything tries to explain every thing in the universe and so has to be a broad concept. The end result is often a theory that can explain so much as to be unfalsifiable. The best solution is to build a specific model that is falsifiable. If that model fails the fundamental theory of everything still may have other models. The goal of the Information Universe is to produce a falsifiable model that makes the needed unique predictions.

Ultimately the realization that the Universe is fundamentally information is proof that our Universe is Intelligently Designed. Furthermore that intelligent designer and programmer would have to be the being we call God. In fact the Information Universe is a perfect fit to the Biblical account of creation, because it literal results in the Universe being created out of nothing by the words (information) of God.

Chimpanzee and Human DNA not as Similar as Once Thought

The claim that chimpanzee and human genomes are 98% the same has been repeated so off then that most people take it as fact. However not only can this claim be shown to be erroneous by virtue of the fact that chimps have a larger genome with an additional chromosome than humans, It turns out this 98% us based on a part of the two genomes that are the most similar and more recent studies show the differences are much greater.

The result is an overall 70% similarity between the two genomes this means that there is a whopping 30% differences. This is 15 times the 2% difference of the claim 98% similar claim. As result the chimpanzee and human genomes are far more different than commonly claimed. This difference also goes against the idea the Humans have a common ancestor with chimps since the mutation rate would have to be way too high for genetic viability. Information Universe and Parallel Universes.

The Information Universe actually makes parallel universes quite easy, since any other information based Universes could simply be other programs that run in parallel to our own. Such parallel universes would have there own time such that you could spend a day in another universe and then come home find 1000 years or more had passed. In addition you could spend years in another universe and then come home to find that no time at had passed here. This may be one area where C.S Lewis may have gotten it right in Chronicles of Narnia.

Now these parallel universes would most likely not be near duplicates of this one except for a few differences, but they would likely be totally different. If you went to one, you not find a copy of yourself that has a different life but it would be radically different assuming that you could survive there.

It would also be potentially possible that information could be transferred between such universes allowing for travel between them or even the ghostly image of some one in one universe to be seen in another. Places like heaven and hell could even be such parallel universes.

Now it needs to be clear that the Information Universe does not require these parallel universes to exist but it does require that some form of ultimate reality to exist outside our universe where the programming creator of our universe (God) can would exist, this would be what the Bible calls Eternity.

So other information based universes could easily exist but running parallel to ours. They could even effectively occupy the same space as ours since space is ultimately a mathematical entity. Time in each universe could be totally different or they could run in exact parallel to each other. While the Information Universe does not require other information based universes to exist it does require one ultimate reality to exist.

Geophysics

Geophysics is the study in physics of the Earth and its environment in space. Geophysics mainly includes studies of the Earth's shape; gravitational field, magnetic field, internal structure, internal composition, plate tectonics, generation of magmas, volcanism and rock formation.

Some times it includes the hydrological cycle; fluid dynamics of the oceans and the atmosphere; electricity and magnetism in the ionosphere and magnetosphere; solar-terrestrial interaction; and similar problems on the Moon and other planets.

Geophysics is at its hart the application of the principles of physics to the Earth and in more recent years other planetary bodies. As we expand our knowledge of worlds other than the Earth this expansion is natural. It is really only cultural inertia with in the scientific community that keeps it from being changed to planetary physics.

There are four areas of geophysics that are of importance to origins, in particular they show problems with the idea of an old Earth.

Radioactivity

Radioactivity is the phenomenon where by an unstable atomic nucleus emits ionizing radiation causing the nucleus to loses energy and rest mass. Radioactivity causes about 80% of the Earth's internal heat, with the main isotopes being potassium⁴⁰, uranium²³⁸, uranium²³⁵, and thorium²³². While there are many types of nuclear decay there are two main ones found in nature, Alpha decay and Negative Bata decay.

In alpha decay the nucleus ejects an alpha particle. An alpha particle is a helium atomic nucleus consisting of 2 protons and 2 neutrons. The process reduces the atomic number of atom by 2 changing the element.

In negative Beta decay a neutron emits a Beta particle and an electron anti-neutrino to become a proton. Beta particles are actually negatively charged electrons. This process increases the atomic number of the nucleus by one.

For collections of radioactive nuclei there is a characteristic decay rate which is usually designated by the isotopes half-life which is the time needed for half of the isotope to decay. This half-life is independent of the amount of the present isotope because the more atoms of the parent isotope there are the more nuclei will decay in a given unit of time. Nuclear decay is often used in determining the age of a sample however there are assumptions involved in the process. It is especially assumed that the half-life of an isotope is constant.

Accelerated Nuclear Decay is the process by which nuclear decay proceeds at a faster rate than normal. Now small amounts of accelerated nuclear decay have been observed in Bata-decay under some circumstances. While accelerated alpha decay has never been directly observed evidence for it exists in the retention of radiogenic helium by zircon crystals. Accelerated Nuclear Decay would look identical to normal decay but faster. The main argument against the hypothesis that the retention of radiogenic helium by zircon crystals shows substantial accelerated alpha decay is heat. The other common argument is the lack of an observed cause of accelerated alpha decay. However there are theoretical answers to both objections. The real reason for resistance to the hypothesis that the retention of radiogenic helium by zircon crystals shows substantial accelerated alpha decay is the fact that it would drastically reduce radiometric ages. However none of these arguments change the fact that measured helium diffusion rates in zircon crystals are a perfect match to a model showing accelerated alpha decay about six thousand years ago.

Plate Tectonics

The Earth’s crust is divided into segments called plates. These plates are not fixed but they slowly move over the mantel. Where the plates meet they interact in three main ways sliding, spreading and subduction. Subduction is seen as the driving mechanism of Plate Tectonics. When these plates interact the results are Earth quakes and volcanoes.

Plate Tectonics got its start in a book published by Antonio Snider-Pellegrini in 1859 called La Création et ses mystères dévoilés (The Creation and its Mysteries Unveiled). He proposed that all of the continents were once connected together based discovering the same plant fossils in both Europe and the United States. He then found this matching of fossils on all of the continents.

He proposed that the super continent catastrophically broke up resulting in the Flood described in Genesis the first book of the Bible. The catastrophic nature of the process went against uniformitarianism and this early version of plate tectonics got little support at the time. This image is from The Creation and its Mysteries Unveiled and it shows the continents before and after separation.

The idea of Plate Tectonics was later picked up by Alfred Wegener around 1910. He slowed down Antonio Snider's Catastrophic Plate Tectonics to make it fit evolutionary time scales producing continual drift. This slowed down version of Plate Tectonics became an establishment theory around 1963.

Catastrophic Plate Tectonics was revived by Dr. John R. Baumgardner in the 1990's with support from computer modeling of the Earth's interior.The result is a Scientific description of the Genesis Flood. Modern Catastrophic Plate Tectonics is basically plate tectonics on over drive.

Geomagnetism

Geomagnetism is the study of the Earth’s magnetic field. It includes the study of the magnetic fields of other planetary bodies as well. The Earth magnetic field is tilted about 11 degrees relative to its rotational axis. At present the magnitude of the Earth magnetic field at the Earth's surface ranges from 0.25 to 0.65 gauss. The Earth’s magnetic field is produced by an electric current in the core. However measurements since 1900 have shown a net loss of field energy of about 5% which is equivalent to a half-life of 1465 years.

The dominant model used to solve this problem called the dynamo theory. The idea is that the current that produces planetary magnetic fields is generated by a self sustaining dynamo, powered by the planet's spin. The result is complex currents in the planets core that causes the field to fluctuate from time to time, and reversing itself. In the case of the Earth this is thought to occur about every 500 - 700 thousand years.

This theory is illustrated in this manner with dark areas showing the present magnetic field direction and light areas show reverse magnetic field direction. It shows these nice neat strips across the ocean floor, as produced by the theory.

In Reality the pattern is not so neat and regular, in fact the tendency is for the positive and negative areas to be mixed up and this is the case all over the world. It gets worse when you look vertically where negative and positive are one on top of the other. Actual data seem to be inconsistent with uniformitarian theory, but is consistent with: a rapid spreading coupled with rapid magnetic reversals, a stretching with cracking and a single reversal, temporary local magnetic reversals, and reversals resulting from stress in the rocks.

There are other problems with the dynamo theory. Life would periodically be exposed to deadly solar radiation. It can not explain the existence of the magnetic field of Mercury. It rotates too slowly to have a self sustaining dynamo and so it should not have a magnetic field. Furthermore Mercury’s magnetic field is decaying and quit rapidly.

It can not explain the orientation of the magnetic fields of, Uranus and Neptune. The magnetic axis of each planet is tilted about 60 degrees, with respect to the rotation axis, so that the magnetic poles are near the equator. Further more the source of each planet's field is offset from the center, by about one third of a planetary radius. According to the dynamo theory, the magnetic and rotation axes should nearly always be closely aligned.

Dynamic Decay Theory was developed by Dr. Russell Humphreys; a physicist with the Institute for Creation Research. It uses an alignment of the magnetic fields of the planet's molecules, to jump start the planets magnetic field. It includes fluctuations and possibly even reversals during and shortly after the Genesis Flood thus explaining the mixed up magnetic patterns. Projecting back in time based on magnetic field energy, gives a maximum age for the Earth of 8,700 years.

Dynamic Decay Theory explains the origin of planetary and stellar magnetic fields. The orientation of the magnetic fields of. Uranus and Neptune, both the tilted of about 60 degrees with respect to the rotation axis and the field's source being about one third of a planetary radius offset from the center. The existence of the magnetic field of Mercury, since the field's source is a decaying and the current in its core can not related to spin. Measurements by the Messenger space craft have confirmed that Mercury’s magnetic field is decaying as predicted by Dynamic Decay. The residual magnetism on the Moon and Mars, despite the lack of a planetary magnetic fields. The strength for the magnetic fields of Uranus, Neptune, and the 4 large moons of Jupiter; all fall with in the range predicted by Dynamic Decay Theory.

Lunar Recession

One aspect of Geophysics that gets little attention for its degree of importance is the recession of moon. That’s right moon is slowly getting farther away and slowing the Earth’s rotation in the process. It was first discovered following the Apollo moon landings by bouncing laser off reflectors left behind by astronauts. These reflectors were designed to accurately measure the Earth / Moon distance. The results showed that the moon is getting further away at a rate of 1.5 inches or 3.82 cm per year. Furthermore a day is getting longer by 1.7 milliseconds per day per century.

Tis is a backwards projection of the observed slowing of the Earth's rotation and lunar recession data. The current data is simply plugged into the laws of physics. The result is that the Moon would have been locked in Geosynchronous orbit around the Earth 1.25 billion years ago. This is far short of the 4.5 billion years commonly given for the age of the Earths suggesting that the Earth-Moon system can not be any where near 4.5 billion years old.

The problem is understood by the proponents of a 4.5 billion year old Earth and several solution have been proposed. The problem is that paleontological data claimed as evidence for longer days in the past does not fit with any possible model that allows 4.5 billion years The ultimate response seems to be that the Earth-Moon system is too complicated to get accurate results form such calculations. This is essentially admitting that the problem can not be solve for an Earth-Moon system that is 4.5 billion years old. Which is exactly what would be the case if the Earth-Moon system were indeed much younger than 4.5 billion years.

Huge-LQG Too Large for Cosmological Principle

Huge-LQG is the largest structure ever observed in the universe. It is a group of quasars in the constellation Leo a whopping 4 billion light years long. This is not only the largest structure ever observed in the universe but it defies the Cosmological Principle. The Cosmological Principle is the assumption is cosmology that on the large scale the Universe is largely the same every place such that we are not in a special place in the universe. The Cosmological Principle has never been proven but had been generally assumed to be true by evolutionary cosmologists because it is so improbable that we would be in a special place in the Universe that is it implies intelligent design in Universe, which goes against absolute naturalism.

Huge-LQG is 1,600 times larger than the 2 million light years between un and the Andromeda Galaxy, the nearest large galaxy to the Milky way. The reason that Huge-LQG is a problem for the cosmological principles that it requires the universe to be homogeneous on the large scale such that the universe will look eventually the same from any location. Earlier calculations had indicated that the maximum size possible for a structure in the universe to be can be about 370Mpc. At 423Mpc long, the Sloan Great Wall, discovered in 2003 is just barely consistent with the Cosmological Principle. How ever Huge-LQG is estimated at 1240 mega-parsecs (4 billion light-years) by 640 Mpc and a mass of 6.1 X1018 solar masses making it three times too long longer and two times too wide for Cosmological Principle. When you include the fact that Huge-LQG is unique in the universe is sufficient to effectively disprove the Cosmological Principle.

Because the Cosmological Principle is a central assumption of the Big Bang Cosmology this discovery is also a problem for the Big Bang. It is amazing just to see the Cosmological Principle actually being question. It needs be noted that Creationists have been challenging the Cosmological Principle for years because when one starts with "In the beginning God," the idea that we are in a special place in the Universe is not longer likely but expected. So Creation Cosmologies predict the existence of something like Huge-LQG.

Fossilized Conduits Suggest Past Underground Water on Martian

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has photographed what look like fossilized water conduits. This provides evidence for the subterranean water originally suggested by catastrophic Martian geology. This catastrophic model of Martian geology suggested that the Meridiani Planum region of Mars where the rover Opportunity landed was flooded by a subterranean water source. This possibility was strengthened by results from the rover Curiosity which indicate the Gale Crater was also underground water.

These water conduits were probably formed by cracks resulting from and impact that then filled with muddy water from furthered below the surface. The conclusion that these are underground water conduits could gain further support as Curiosity is expected to have have an opportunity to examine mineralized fractures at Gale Crater.

This is yet another in a long list of increasing evidence in support of the catastrophic model of Martian geology. It is truly a model that keeps on explaining and being supported by everything found on Mars.

The Real Odds of Space Aliens Existing

Evolutionists seem to be obsessed with finding extraterrestrial life and the reason for this obsession is that the Earth is unique in that it is the only known place in universe that harbors life. This is so suggestive of deign that it is repugnant to them and particularly so of atheists. One thing the notion of extraterrestrial life presupposes is that abiogenesis is a relatively likely event and that evolving intelligent life from there is also fairly likely once you get that first living cell. The standard argument is that given all the planets that must exist in universe that thee has to be some one else out there. How ever those making this claim have clearly never really looked at the statistics of the matter. Recently I did a study of this question based on the assumption of naturalistic origins of life and intelligent life that shows that the odds do not have to be particularly low for us to be alone in the entire universe.

Current estimates are that there are a bout 100 billion galaxies in the observable universe and that there are about 10 billion planets with in the habitable zone of their star in our galaxy. That comes tp 10¹¹ X 10¹⁰ for an estimated total of 10²¹ habitable zone planets in the observable universe. At fist glance this seems like a large number such that we can not possibly be alone. If as many as 1 in 1,000 of these planets is actually capable of supporting life, probably being rather generous since we currently know of about 270 habitable zone planets only two of which (the Earh and Mars) have conditions that can support life and only one (the Earth) is know to support life. In any case that reduces the number of planets capable of supporting life to 10¹⁸ planets. So unless the odds of abiogenesis occurring are better than 1 in 10¹⁸ then we are indeed alone. Given the fact satirical thermodynamics suggests that abiogenesis is thermodynamically impossible even 1 in 10¹⁸ is extremely generous.

Now this is only dealing with bacteria or some other form a microscopic life when we go to intelligent life it doesn’t take vary poor odd for each step still mean that we are alone. Lets say that the odds of abiogenesis occurring are as good as one in a million. I know this is clearly being unreasonably generous since we probably would have evidence of it if it were that easy. That reduces the number planets with life to 10¹² planets. Now if the odds of developing complex multi cellular life are as good as one in a million an extremely generous assumption since single cell life greatly out numbers multi cell life. That reduces the number planets with complex multi cellular life to 10⁶ (1 million) planets. Now if the odds of developing intelligent life are as good as one in a million once again an extremely generous assumption since non intelligent life greatly out numbers intelligent life. That reduces the number planets with intelligent life to 1 planet which would be the Earth.

The point is that even by using extremely generous probabilities odd are that we are the only intelligent life in the universe. That of course assumes a totally naturalistic origin if however God created all live then these odds are meaningless and we and any other loving thing in the universe are special creations of God who could have made the universe any way he wanted. So why are Evolutionists so obsessed with finding extraterrestrial life given the fact that odds are that it probably does not exist. Well the reason is that the only other answer to our origin other than abiogenesis being common place is in the beginning God created it all. and that is unthinkable to them as some have addmited.

Information Universe and the Bible.

There a number of ways in which the Information Universe is a perfect fit the Bible. It fist well with the concept of God creating the universe out of nothing, as well as God speaking the universe into existence. It shows how the miracles mentioned Bible are possible and much more. While the following discussion dose refer to and quote the Bible it is primarily about physics and what the Information Universe says about the physics behind Biblical events.

The Bible teaches that God created the universe out of nothing. The term used for this generally is creation ex nihilo. “ex nihilo” is Latin meaning “out of nothing. This is implied right from the beginning literally from the first verse.

Genesis 1:1 (KJV) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

The word the heaven here refers outer space not only the objects that are out there but the space it self. As a result there would be no place for any thing to exist. Further more we have mater, space and time beginning in the same verse showing that God created all three at the same instant. This implies creation of all three out of nothing.

Hebrews 11:3 (KJV) Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

This verse from the New Testament is more explicit indicating that all things were not made from physical entities. Even atoms can be seen and the fundamental particles that make them up can be detected so we have creation out of nothing. The Information Universe is consistent with this idea even though it was not developed for that purpose.

Further more several times in Genesis 1 shows God speaking things into existence such as.

Genesis 1:3 (KJV) And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

We also in Hebrews 11:3 that the universe was formed by “the word of God.”

Hebrews 11:3 (KJV) Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

This verses show God speaking, that it putting out information and there by creating things. When the creator of a video game programs the game he is putting out information into the program to create the video’s game. That world is literally created out of nothing and was made by its creator in a real sense speaking it into existence. Thus the Information Universe is consistent with God bringing all things into existence by his word because they fundamentally consist of that information. It does so even though it was not developed for that purpose.

The Bible also speaks of numerous miraculous and other types of supernatural events. If the universe is fundamentally information and God was the one that programmed or otherwise controls that information system, then like the programmer of a video game he could tweak the program’s information to produce the miracles and other types of supernatural events. Thus the Information Universe is consistent with the miracles of the Bible being real events and it does so even though it was not developed for that purpose.

Colossians 1:17 (KJV) And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

This verse indicates that by God all things have their existence implying God regularly directly controls over the universe. This makes a lot of sense if the universe is fundamentally information since Even when a human programmer programs a virtual world it is easy to add ways to directly control it beyond what a player could in a game. The point is that if the universe is fundamentally information programmed by God, and then would be expected to be indirect control of the information. Thus the Information Universe is consistent with the Bible idea of God directly controlling the universe and it does so even though it was not developed for that purpose.

The fact is that the idea that the universe is fundamentally information and specifically the Information Universe model came from the need to explain certain results of Quantum Mechanics such as the double sit experiment. However it turns out to be a perfect fit to the Bible and amazingly it does so even though it was not developed for that purpose. While this fact will not please some proponents of the idea that the universe is fundamentally information it is still a fact that it is a perfect fit the Biblical idea of the Universe being created, maintain and controlled by God.

Concluding that the universe is fundamentally information comes right out of Quantum Mechanics and is the most logical way to interpret Quantum Mechanics. One amazing result of this interpretation is that it not only requires a universe that is intelligently designed but is perfect fit to the idea of a creator God. The fit of the Information Universe to the Biblical account amazing given the fact that that the starting point was explaining the strangest results of Quantum Mechanics.

Scientific America Shows Liberal and Anti-Creationist Bias

A recent article in Scientific America speaks volumes on the attitude of the publication towards any one that does not see the world the way they do. While the article is as hard on liberal the author sees anti-science as conservatives, article shows a clear liberal bias, It starts out the second paragraph with "We are well aware of the Republican war on science" as though the notion that Republican specifically conservative Republican are anti-science. He goes on site an anti-Republican book and anti-Intelligent Design book to support the claim. So the bias in the article is blatantly obvious right from the start.

The author then sites a A 2012 Gallup poll showing how Republican and Democrat views on Young Earth Creation and Global warming.

He then attacks opposition to fetal stem cell research as "early-stage embryos a moral standing that is higher than that of adults suffering from debilitating diseases potentially curable through stem cells." While totally ignoring the fact that the same conservatives fully support adult stem cell research, an area of study that has produced more results the fetal stem cell research.

In any case the author of the article uses opposition to evolution and global warm to declare any one who holds those positions to be anti-science. In short he equates disagreement with interpretations of data by a majority of scientists as being anti-science. He totally ignores the fact that there are degreed practicing published scientists that disagree with Global Warming, an old Earth and microbe to man evolution and do so on scientific grounds. There are legitimate scientific reasons to question Global Warming and particular man caused Global Warming such as the warming trend observed on Mar. Further more the politicalization of Global Warming causes legitimate reasons to question the scientific integrity of process.

The point is that the article implies that Global Warming, an old Earth and microbe to man evolution are the only scientific interpretations of available data and declares that disagreeing with those interpretations is anti-science. Since disagreement of interpretation of data is fundamental to legitimate science it is the view of the author and by publishing it the view of Scientific America that is anti-science because it has the net affect of shutting down debate on the interpretation of data. It is clear from the end of the article that he thinks the those who oppose evolution and climate change should be eliminated from the debate altogether.

Is a global flood possible?

Some who attack the idea of a Global Flood based on the claim that the Flood had to go as high as Mt. Everest sense all the Mountains were covered. Mt. Everest peaks at 29,035 feet, and there is not enough water on Earth to cover it such a depth. This is actually a straw man argument since no creationist claims that the Flood covered Mt. Everest at its current height. Further more like many other such claims the Bible answers it.

Psalm 104: 6-9
6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
7 At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
8 They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.
9 Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

This passage shows that mountains rose and valleys sank during the Flood. The result is that Mt. Everest rose up during the Flood so the Flood did not need to be any were near that high.

There is enough water on Earth for a Global Flood. If the Earth were smoothed out, the water in the oceans would cover the Earth to a depth of about 8,813 feet. This figure does not include the water in rivers, lakes glaciers and other sources. They would add about another 2-3 thousand feet which would bring the maximum depth to about 11,813 feet or about 2.2373 miles. In reality the Flood would really only need to be a little over 7,000 deep.

So real question is whether or not it is possible for Mt. Everest to have roses to its current height fast enough to have raised in a time scale consistent with the Flood. The earthquake that caused the Indonesian tsunami of December 26, 2004, caused an uplift of at least 20 feet in a few minutes, which is a speed of about 240 feet per hour. At that rate Mt. Everest would have reached 29,035 feet in about 5 days. So forces actually observed in Earthquakes are sufficient if extended long enough to quickly raise even the highest mountain in world to its current height is just a few days.

The result is that based on the amount of water on the Earth and fact that observed tectonic forces have the potential to quickly raise mountains, that the Global Flood of the Bible is at least theoretically possible.

It gets even better since studies have shown that there is about 5 times as much water in the Earth's mantel as is currently on the surface oft he Earth. This would be enough water to flood the Earth to a depth of 13.42 miles. This is deep enough to cover Mt. Everest to a depth of 7.9 miles which is deeper than the Mariana Trench (deepest spot in the ocean) depth of 6.831 miles. So there is enough water on Earth for a global flood. Not only that but studies have shown that this water could have been transported from the Earth's surface by plate subduction.

The conclusion is that a global flood is indeed possible.

Most Earth-Like Planet Ever Found Outside the Solar System Discovered

Currently called KOI 172.02 the reason this planet has produced so much excitement is that it is the first habitable-zone super Earth found around a star of same type as the sun. However close examination shows that calling it "Earth-Like" is most likely in accurate. First of all the use of the term "Earth-Like" is actually some deceptive since it congers up in the most people's minds a planet really like Earth. That being filled with life and one the we could someday visit and find intelligent life. However before you pack your bags there are a few facts that you should known that probably make this planet anything but truly Earth like.

The first is that its radius is 1.5 times that of Earth. Now while that does not seem like much it means that if its average density is the same as Earth its mass would be 3.375 times that of the Earth with would mean a surface gravity of 1.5 g's. Put another way a 200lbs man would weigh 300lbs. This means that most people could not even stand up and if they could they would be barely able to walk. Now if this planet has a composition similar to Earth that it would actually be closer to 4 time the mass of the Earth. For this planet to have a 1g surface gravity its average density would have to be 44% that of Earth's which means it would lack a lot of substances that make life possible on Earth.

Second while orbits a star similar to the sun is it orbits at just 75% the distance to its star as the Earth does to the sun and has a year of about 242 Earth days. Venus on the other hand has a planet much closer to the Earth in size orbits the sun at 72% the distance of the Earth and has year of 224 Earth days. So in terms of orbit KOI 172.02 is far more like Venus than it is like the Earth. Now since this planet would have likely have a higher surface gravity than the Earth its atmosphere would probably be denser thus trapping more heat from its star and being closer to its star it would get more heat than the Earth and so it would be quite a bit hotter than the Earth, almost certainly too hot for life.

So given all this why all the excitement over what is most likely as supper Venus. The reason is an almost desperate desire to evidence of life some place, in fact any place other than the Earth. The reason for this desperation is that the Earth is unique it that it is the only known planet to support life and that fact suggest divine creation, a notion many of the atheists in the scientific establishment would love to squash. Connected to this notion is a desire from proof that abiogenesis (life from non-life) is possible the notion being that finding life some place else in the universe would show that abiogenesis is not only possible but likely. However the flaw in this logic is the finding a second planet with life does not reduce the odds one bit. Furthermore beyond abiogenesis the desire to prove that the Earth is not unique is philosophical requirement of atheistic thinking. Now that is not to say every involved in this project is an atheists but the tendency to jump on any planet that is not a gas giant and in its star's habitable zone as being Earth-Like definitely stems from the atheistic desire to show that the Earth is not unique. However despite all the effort and 100's of extrasolar planets discovered the real fact is that the Earth is still unique and its uniqueness become more pronounced with each new planet not less.

Information Universe and Hinduism/New Age.

The reason for putting these two together in one article is because New Age is at its core a westernized version of Hinduism. The biggest problem with doing an analyses is that they lack any real central belief system. Both Hinduism and New Age have such diversity that trying to describe a specific belief system for them is like trying to nail a cloud to ground.

Despite all this there are specific concepts that are generally even if not universally held by Hindues and New Agers. They tend to be a belief in some form of soul and consciousness is seen a playing an important role in universe. There is also the concept that what we call reality is an illusion and or a dream.

The only real conclusion is that the Information Universe basically compatible with Hinduism and New Age. In fact some forms of them are highly compatible with the Information Universe. In fact the Information Universe does show how things like psychic powers could be possible. One aspect of the Information Universe that is some what problematic is the need for a programmer to get the entire thing going.

It needs to be noted that while Hinduism and New Age are generally compatible with the Information Universe that it is not the only compatible option. This is because the Information Universe is generally peaking compatible the idea of a creator God as well as the supernatural in general. One reason this is that an information based universe is itself immaterial and as a result including any number of supernatural phenomenon is not difficult to do. In the case of Hinduism and New Age it provides a way by which thing like psychic powers could be possible by way of tapping the universe’s information system. It also provides possible way that other claims of Hindues and New Agers could be real. Now this does not mean that accepting an information based universe means accepting Hinduism or New Age but only that the two concepts are basically compatible. This is one of the down sides to the Information Universe nut as will be shown in then next article it is not alone in being compatible with an information based universe. Specifically the next article will show the compatibility of the Information Universe with the Bible and biblical creation.

Information Universe and Atheism.

In the article origins it was show that an information based universe has to be intelligently designed. Now because by definition atheists do not believe in God, the idea that universe is intelligently designed is naturally repugnant to them. This is a major reason why the acceptance of the information based universe idea has been slow in main stream physics since the scientific establishment is dominated by atheists.

However the concept that the universe is fundamentally an information system much like a computer simulation explains so much that even some atheists have been forced to accept this form of intelligent design. How ever rather than following Occam's razor simply conclude that God was the programmer such atheists have postulated that the universe was programmed by programmers from some super-civilization of far-evolved running a computer simulation of the universe of their distant ancestors.

One thing this says about atheists is that their rejection of God is not from a supposed lack of evidence but from a philosophical assumption. The reason for this is that here is a cased were the simplest solution is the programmer is the eternally existing being we call God. However because of philosophical assumptions they ignore the simple solution and postulate an entire civilization of beings in which the programmers live and work.

One thing they ignore the fact that the shear scope and detail of the simulation that is our universe eliminates the possibility of one or more human like beings using any type of physical computer. Now they are clearly aware of the problem but simply assume that a supper-advanced civilization will be capable of solving the problem

The resolution of the universe is one Planck length (1.616199 × 10^-35 m) and with the need to produce a reality for some 7 billion human beings and billions more conscious animals, the computation power needed would go beyond any conceivable physical computer. To put it in to prospective the minimum information required to for just 1 cubic meter of space is 4.221672 × 10¹⁰⁵ bytes. For comparison the hard drive on the computer used to write this is about 300 × 10⁹ bytes. As a result it would take more than 10⁹⁹ such computers to store the information needed for just 1 cubic meter of space. It would also require a minimum calculation rate of 2.612 × 10¹⁴⁰ bytes per second just to calculate what is going on instead that 1 cubic meter of space.

The result is that the atheistic idea of a super-civilization of far-evolved running a computer simulation of a universe is beyond the point of reason. However concluding that the programmer is an eternally existing God is a much simpler conclusion.

An Introduction to Geophysics

I have add an article on Geophysics to the Genesis Mission website. Below is a sample of some of the material.

Geophysics mainly includes studies of the Earth's shape; gravitational field, magnetic field, internal structure, internal composition, plate tectonics, generation of magmas, volcanism and rock formation.
Some times it includes the hydrological cycle; fluid dynamics of the oceans and the atmosphere; electricity and magnetism in the ionosphere and magnetosphere; solar-terrestrial interaction; and similar problems on the Moon and other planets.

Accelerated Nuclear Decay is the process by which nuclear decay proceeds at a faster rate than normal. Now small amounts of accelerated nuclear decay have been observed in Bata-decay under some circumstances. While accelerated alpha decay has never been directly observed evidence for it exists in the retention of radiogenic helium by zircon crystals. Accelerated Nuclear Decay would look identical to normal decay but faster. The main argument against the hypothesis that the retention of radiogenic helium by zircon crystals shows substantial accelerated alpha decay is heat. The other common argument is the lack of an observed cause of accelerated alpha decay. However there are theoretical answers to both objections. The real reason for resistance to the hypothesis that the retention of radiogenic helium by zircon crystals shows substantial accelerated alpha decay is the fact that it would drastically reduce radiometric ages. However none of these arguments change the fact that measured helium diffusion rates in zircon crystals are a perfect match to a model showing accelerated alpha decay about six thousand years ago.

Plate Tectonics got its start in a book published by Snider-Pellegrini in 1859 called La Création et ses mystères dévoilés (The Creation and its Mysteries Unveiled). He proposed that all of the continents were once connected together based discovering the same plant fossils in both Europe and the United States. He then found that this fossils matching of fossils on all of the continents.

The idea of Plate Tectonics was later picked upon by Alfred Wegener around 1910. He slowed down Antonio Snider's Catastrophic Plate Tectonics to make it fit evolutionary time scales producing continual drift. This slowed down version of Plate Tectonics became an establishment theory around 1963.

Catastrophic Plate Tectonics was revived by Dr. John R. Baumgardner in the 1990's with support from computer modeling of the Earth's interior.The result is a Scientific description of the Genesis Flood. Modern Catastrophic Plate Tectonics is basically plate tectonics on over drive.
