Teacher Appreciation Cards

It is always a good for the soul to show appreciation to the special people in your life. Teachers are such an important piece of your children's childhood and with the end of the year last year I created special cards.

I used a cute SVG set from SVG Cuts. You can download the set here:

I let my kids pick out their favorite image from this set then I created cards with them. Super easy and fun!

My kids chose the Schoolhouse, Calculator and Chalk Board with books and apple. :)

My daughter Natalie wanted the Chalkboard and Books with the apple. Her teacher Mrs. Blake loves to read to the class and she is a Kindergarten teacher so the 123, abc is a perfect touch.

What I love about these cuts is that they are individual pieces and colored appropriately for each separate layering piece. It really allows you to cut the pieces you want to use in the colors you want to use them in.

I wrote in the names of Mrs. Blakes' favorite books.

Natalie wrote her special sentiment. :)

We made an adorable Red and white polka dotted enveloped and sealed it with a cutie chalk board sticker I just happened to have in my stash. Perfect!!!!

My youngest daughter Tiffany doesn't go to school yet but she had to get in on the action. She chose the calculator and insisted on a pink one. I thought it was a super cute idea and the card turned out just too cute!

My son chose the School House. He chose all the colors and asked me to write his teachers name over the door which I thought was brilliant. :)

He also wrote his special sentiment inside.

Diaper Cake for a Baby Boy~ Tag and Card

Last week I posted pics of the Diaper Cake I made for a friend of mine and this week I am posting pics of the Card and Tag I made for the cake. You can Download the Dalmatian Card SCUT file below also. :)

I created an ingredients tag using my own spotted printed paper and cutting a tag shape from SCAL. I made the dog by printing and hand cutting then I added pink and blue stickles glitter glue to the tongue and collar.

I attached the tag with a safety pin that I added blue beads to.

On the backside of the tag I printed the ingredients list.

The card that I cut was a bit more detailed. I transferred my Dalmatian Image into SCAL and created a SCUT file, I then cut it on white paper and colored each individual piece with markers. This was a bit time consuming but I loved the look of the finished product.

I then pulled each little piece off and glued them to the front of the card individually. Including the outline. I added stickles to the tongue and collar.

I added google eyes to make the dog look a bit more 3D and fun

This cake turned out so great. I believe the paper accents really took the entire cake to a whole new level.

Diaper Cake for a Baby Boy

My friend just recently had a baby shower and I wanted to try a Diaper Cake. I have to say, it was pretty easy to put together. I think the most time consuming part was placing the accessories on the cake. :)

My friend chose an adorable Brown Dalmatian Bedding set. It is so perfect for her baby since they actually have a brown spotted dalmatian named Zack.

The finished project

Bottom Layer had three regular sized bottles, 8 washcloths, 4 receiving blankets, 4 onesises and diapers

I found these onesies at Tuesday Mornings. I also saw them at Burlington Coat Factory. Only $4.99 for a pack of three great deal!

I added some beads to a large safety pin and pinned the outside blanket on the back of the cake.

Layer two had another regular sized bottle, 2 receiving blankets, 1 onesie, baby blocks and diapers.

My mom used her new technique and software to take the dalmatian I used on the invitation and make a felt embroidered applique. It turned out perfect! Thanks mom!

I filled every bottle with candy treats for the mommy

The top tier had 4 washcloths, a small bottle, diapers, brown spotted dalmatian, and a wipes case.

I added a recipe tag to show all the ingredients used in making this cake.

A Baby Box Part 4 of 4 The Finale

Today is the last day of my Baby Box ideas. Please check the last few weeks posts for all the great gift ideas. I really hope these ideas inspire you to create custom gifts for your next baby shower!

Today I am showcasing the personalized onesies, leotard and tutu, receiving blankets and Candy Washcloths.

I also wanted to write that when I gave this box to my friend she thought it was so beautiful that she didn't even take it apart and look at it there. :) It is such a great feeling to bless a friend!

This ia Dollar Store Onesie that I used freezer paper, fabric paint and covered with glitter. :)

This is another Dollar Store Onesie that I again used Freezer Paper, Fabric Paint and Glitter on.

This onesie is also from the Dollar Store but this time I used my i-rock tool to bling out a letter I.

This Leotard is another Dollar Store purchase. I think it is really a bathing suit but it really worked perfect as a leotard.

I added a flower with a rhinestone in the middle to the leotard and a beautiful Sparkled Butterfly to the tutu

My mom made four receiving blankets for them.

She even embroidered the babies name on one.

I am very lucky to have a mother who sews

I rolled the blankets up and placed them tightly into the bottom of the box. They fit perfect!

This whole Baby Box looked amazing and although I doubt you would be able to copy 100%, I know there are a bunch of gift ideas that you can use for your next customized baby gift!

A Baby Box Part 3 of 4

Here we are again. Part 3 of 4 of the Baby Box I made for my friends Baby Shower.

Today I have some really cute and unique ideas for you to bling up some baby items!

I bought this hairband at Joanns and added a large Rhinestone to the middle

This Brush Set came from the Dollar General Store it's not the Dollar Store. Even so this set is only $1 and they are Luvs brand.

I used my i-rock tool to attach the rhinestones.

I added faux flowers and Rhinestones to the three bottles.

These bottles are also Luvs brand and only cost $1 each.

I used Hot Glue to attach the Flowers to the lids of the bottles

They make for such a pretty gift. :)

The final blinged out Baby Item is the wet ones case. I added different sized clear rhinestones as accents.

A Baby Box Part 2 of 4

Today I am going to show you the Board Book, Trinket Box and Gift Card I used for the Baby Box I showed you last week.

This word book was created in SCAL and I used the FONT Elephants in Cherry Trees.

I cut the book and large BABY letters first. Then I cut the small letters ISABELLA and spread them out evenly among the pages on the front.

I used COTTON CANDY PINK Sparkly Fluff on the name. You can get your own here:

This is the first time I used brads to bind the book. I made them fairly loose to allow the pages to turn. I really like the brad idea! It's much easier than using ribbon and has a contemporary and clean feel to it.

This trinket box came from Michael's. It was originally just a light colored ply wood color and it has a paintable butterfly on the lid that I pulled off. I painted the lid a hot pink and chose some paper from my stash to cut into squares and cover the box using mod podge.

Just a hint here: if you cut the paper in a long strip and then cut the squares from the strip your box will match up and flow better. I added the letter I to each side. Each I was cut and glitter glued.

I added pieces of tulle to the inside of the box

My mom and I raided her bead collection to find matching letters and beads to make two baby bracelets.

I tied the two bracelets together using a small piece of ribbon and then stuffed it into the box.

This trinket box would be perfect for babys first curl and first lost tooth :)

I have used this card before but this time I added the name to the shirt area before I cut it in SCAL.

I recently went to a Baby Shower for an old friend of mine. She is expecting a girl and I decided to put a great box of goodies together for them both.

I made so many goodies for this box I thought it would good for the next few weeks to show you the details and give you instructions on how to make any or all of these gifts yourself. Pick and choose the ideas you love and create your own special and personalized Baby Box.

Whale Shark Mobile

My son had a project on a Marine Animal of his choice. He is gearing up for his Sea World field trip soon. He chose the Whale Shark, he is fascinated by all the fun facts he has learned. Most importantly that they do not eat humans like JAWS. :) He's very proud of that fact.

I created 4 SVG files to make the mobile. I created a Whale Shark Silhouette, Guppy Silhouette and a Shark Silhouette and the words Whale Shark.
