Floppy Discs Long gone but still Have a role in our life How ??

Yesterday while cleaning my Drawer I found a set of floppy’s some were well labeled with few of my school projects and others were merely unlabeled ok don’t blame me I was kid that time. I wanted to have a peek into my history what I wrote and how back then but question is How now there are almost no computers left who will have floppy drive I don’t know that How will I be able to recollect the data back . So kind of all the data which I have is almost as if I have kept it in a safe and the key of the safe is stolen and no lock manufacturers exist for it now.

When I was just packing them back and said to my mom do you remember what floppy is she gave me a classy expression of ignorance . Well my mom is not a geek but still a regular ipad ,iPod and laptop user and she just missed it. She made me count that she knows cd/dvd/pendrive /sdcard etc

Well that made me think that OMG Floppy are long gone who will remember them and how and then when I just thought to pen it down on word doc and tried to save it Hurrey I saw floppy symbol.

Floppy discs are long gone but still we almost daily see them as a option to save on microsoft (doc etc) or some site. I know most of you will be thinking IS it so Where ????

Microsoft /adobe and all of them pay tribute to floppy drives for the days when they were the synonym of having the data safe and saved. In all we still are using the symbol of Floppy in Save and Save as .

Or we can say that either they still think this symbol is the synonym of Save or They just missed out to adapt with the speed at which market is changing . What ever we say I was self enlightened on this finding ;) Its like we are so used to see them that we forgot what & when they were.

Peek in to History : Bheem Betika Caves Near Bhopal

Never stop your kids from painting the walls you never know when they are contributing to create a history. If you don’t believe me than do pay visit to bhim betika near Bhopal. Here you can witness the scenes that depict hunting, dancing, music, horse and elephant riders, animals fighting, honey collection, decoration of bodies, disguises, masking and household scenes. Animals such as bisons, tigers, lions, wild boars, elephants, antelopes, dogs, lizards, crocodiles, etc. the list is long of all what you could see in the caves from the ancient history

So here you go to see some prehistoric structures and old bunglows of our ansistors I mean the caves and their drawing and paintings . The entire place is swarming with caves and most of these caves have these prehistoric paintings. There are superimposition of paintings in the caves, which shows that the same canvas was used by different people at different times. Ufcourse no landlord was there to ask for rent or repainting charges so these paintings still exist . MP tourism has recently braughtin few sculptures to compliment the caves

The drawings and paintings can be classified under seven different periods:

Period 1 - (Upper Palaeolithic): These are linear representations, in green and dark red, of huge figures of animals such as bisons, tigers, and rhinoceroses.

Period II - (Mesolithic): Comparatively small in size the stylised figures in this group show linear decorations on the body.

In addition to animals there are human figures and hunting scenes, giving a clear picture of the weapons they used: barbed spears, pointed sticks, bows and arrows. The depiction of communal dances, birds, musical instruments, mother and child pregnant women, men carrying dead animal drinking and burials appear in rhythmic movement.

Period III - (Chalaeolithic) These drawings reveal that during this period the cave dwellers of this area had come in contact with the agricultural communities of the Malwa plains and started and exchange of their requirements with each other.

Period IV & V - (Early historic): The figures of this group have a schematic and decorative style and are painted mainly in red white and yellow. The association is of riders, depiction of religious symbols, Tunic-like dresses and the existence of scripts of different periods. The religious beliefs are represented by figures of Yakshas , tree gods and magical sky chariots.

Period VI & VIl - (Medieval) : These paintings are geometric linear and more schematic, but they show degenerations and crudeness in their artistic style. The colours used by the cave dwellers were prepared by combining manganese haematite soft red stone and wooden coal.

Even better, is a great view of Bhopal from the tortoise rock. One can see the entire Bhopal horizon from that point.

Material used for making combination of manganese, hematite, soft red stone and wooden coal. Sometimes the fat of animals and extracts of leaves were also used in the mixture. The colours have remained intact for many centuries due to the chemical reaction resulting from the oxide present on the surface of the rocks.
Btw i still dont know why this is called as bheem betika does any one of you know??

How to reach Bhim Betika

Bheem Betika is a world heritage site situated about an hour’s drive from Bhopal towards the south on the Hoshangabad highway.Best way is to have a car / bike drive to the place.

There is only 1 possible eating joint near the place of bhim betika even for tea and coffe and that is of MP tourism also here you can get things on made to order types (E-mail : bhimbetka@mptourism.com) so don’t expect the poha jalebi J and tapir ki chai there which you will be possibly needing after the rough patch of road (which unfortunately comes under central government), the other possible bottle neck is the railway crossing which keeps playing hide and seek

Being a national heritage the entry fee is rs 10 per person and 50 rs for car . Ok don’t think of saving money from place to park car as you will have to walk really long to be there ;) hee hee.Ya and closing time of the caves is 5.30 pm . You may like to go to the water spring (not in summers ) and /or water body near by to give the trip a perfect feel of picnic also since the entire area is stony you may find other tracking places there. In sum, a great place to explore Do remember to carry some sun block, a pair of sunglasses and lots of water and food, Ok Sports shoes are advised footwear.

Datiya Fort a 16th century demo of art

Datia is famous for a great temple of one of the 10 mahavidyas, Goddess Baglamukhi also. Datiya is a city from the time of Mahabharata.The architecture of this fort is quite similar to the one at the Orcha founded by the Bundela chief Raj Bir Singh Deo same owner and thus they are the best existing examples of the architecture of 16-17th century when the Bundelkhand area under the reign of the Bundela Rajputs.

This fort is some where build in 1620 century

To my astronishments It was a favourite of Sir Edwin Lutyens, the man who designed most of British New Delhi. Unlike Mughal inspired edifices, this was conceived as a single unit and therefore its form and decoration are well integrated.

Erected on a rocky ridge, the Bir Singh Palace has five stories visible. A central dome rising to 35m caps the palace. There are many underground chambers excavated in the rock but they remain hidden from view.Suites of underground rooms hewn from solid bedrock on a series of different levels provide hot-weather accommodation. The palace has a square plan with a domed tower at each corner. The main entrance is on the eastern side, while the south opens out to a lake, the Karna Sagar. What makes this palace special is that it is made entirely of stones and bricks with no use of wood and iron.except for doors ;).Currently the palace is under repair .

Well you say good or bad this palace visits have no charges on people to visit also here there will be scaricity of guides in the palace and will be arranged if you tell well in advance that you need them

For me I found that the entire palace is filled with the flying bridge corridor . The facades are decorated with bracketed balconies, kiosks, arcades and wide eaves which create a glorious play of light and shade. Strangely enough, for all its mesmerizing beauty, the palace was never occupied .

But from the top the breeze is amazing and one would definitely love the way the fort has unfolded the river around

Balaji dham unnav – 17 km from here and he is an ichha purti temple (well I was unable to visit that in this trip but for sure will catch in other vsits to the city

Unao is seventeen kilometers from Datia Headquarters. Balaji Temple is very old temple is said to date from Pre-Historic times. People from very distant places flock to the Balaji Sun Temple on pilgrimage. There is a tank in the vinicity said to contain sacred water and is the popular belief that lepers who take a bath in these waters are cured of their terrible affliction. This is also known as Balaji-Dham. Unao is connected by road only.

Datiya is a city from the time of mahabharat and this has been proved by the archeological deparment of india .When you land on the railway station of datiya the Board it self tells that this is the land of Maa Peetambara peeth what many of us don’t know is that this city has a fort as well and owner of the fort is the same king “ Raja bir singh judev” one who has build the fort of orcha .

Peetambra Peeth is the famous Shakti Peeth of the country. Sh. Golokwasi Bramhaleen Pujyapaad RashtraGuru Anant Shree Swami Ji Maharaj in 1920s established "Bagla Mukhi Devi " and later " Dhumawati Mai " at this place. Dhumavati and Baglamukhi are the two of the ten Mahavidyas. In addition to those, there are temples of Parshuram, Hanuman, Kal Bhairav and other god and goddess spread across the large area of Ashram.

It was, according to many legends 'Tapasthali' (place of meditation) of many mythological as well as real life people. The shivlingam of shree Vankhandeswar Shiva is tested and approved by the Archeological Survey of India to be of the same age as that of the Mahabharata. It is primarily a Shakta place of worship (devoted to Mother Goddess).

Since we went to the temple just before navratris were to start so we saw lot many people sitting with their gomukhis and busy with chanting , people of all age and education could be seen there at the time one could only imagine what will be the crowd there at the time of navratris . This is the first godess temple I have seen where people don’t offer chunri in temple … also I haven’t seen punditji expecting money we were simply asked to put all in the box J .Some people said that to Godess Bagulamukhi people offer salted prasadam which was again a unique point for me though being a pandit I offered her sweets only ;)

Yes there is one more strange thing I saw there at the temple of Dhumavati mata “सौभाग्यवति महिलाओं का प़वेश मना है” which precisely means that married women are not allowed to enter in the premises. Well people told various reasons for that too .

Well here is another temple of Guruji maharaj where again I saw followers busy chanting. Currently the Peeth is maintained by a trust. There is a fabulist Sanskrit library which was established by the Pujyapaad, and is maintained by Ashram. One can get the books explaining the history of the Ashram and secret Mantras of various kind of Sadhanas and tantras. One of the unique feature of the Ashram is its endeavor to spread the light of Sanskrit language to young children , free of cost. Ashram conducts Sanskrit debates across the years.

Sonagiri as the names says Golden peak. is a place sacred to Digambar Jains. Pure natural environment, hilly are and scene of beautiful temples with high spires looks very attractive, pleasing to eyes & mind. This is a place where King Nanganag Kumar achieved liberation from the cycles of death and life along with the fifteen million followers.The entire hillock surrounded with white temples scattered around sonagiri.

If you are lucky you may have an encounter with ascetic saints to practice for self discipline, austerity, and to attain Nirvana ( salvation ) even if you don’t plan to be them their blessings will surely make you strong enough to perform worldly actions.

About Sonagiri Temples

There are seventy seven beautiful Jain temples in hills and twenty six – 31 temples in village. The temple no. fifty seven on hill is the main temple. This temple has attra- ctive artistic spire. In this temple the principal deity is Lord Chandraprabhu, eleven feet in height. Two other beautiful idols of Lord SheetalNath & Parsvnath are installed.There is a column of dignity ( Manstambh ) 43 feet in height and an attractive model of Samavsharan. The samavsharan of Bhagwan Chandraprabhu came here for seventeen times. This is the unique place known as Laghu Sammed Shikhar covering the area of 132 acres of two hills.

The Samavsharan of Bhagwan Chandraprabhu came here for 17 times. Nang, Anang, Chintagati, Poornachand, Ashoksen, Shridatta, Swarnbhadra and many other saints achieved salvation from here.

People told that the main crowded season of this place is when Annual festival ( Mela ) : From Falgun Shukla 14 to Chaitra Krishna 5^th (dates as per indian calendar) ~ Feb /March near by Holi

What I loved about the place is the decipline observed in pundits and decieples ,there is no ho halla or ga ga in place.At multiple places it is advised not to donate money even to god without donation slip where in you can choose the cause you want to donate for .

As per Digambar jain tradition you can only offer plain white rice to the idoles there though you can buy from outside if you wish to but still it is advisible if you really want to offer then rather take from the shop or from home.

On the trip to Sonagiri temples some guidelines:

· If you want you can take guide (negotiation is highly advpisable ) though the temples are well numbered and directions are well written so you can do it on your own
· It is advisable if you carry your own water though you will get “Pyau” water from earthen pots at places.
· There is no shop inside so for babies be ready for 2 hours stuff
· For people with knee problems – knee cap is highly advisable
· Also they should wear socks (sports or thick cotton socks will be good choice) and climb as in foot wares are not allowed from the 1^st temple onwards
· Climbing for old people “kavar” is there but I guess you have to wait for them as they are very limited in numbers.
· Photography is allowed but not inside temples
· Donate and take the slips with you J and don’t disturb the cleanliness and discipline of place.
· People who are allergic to dust /construction carry a mask with them as some of temples them are in stage of modification.
· Be set if you want to offer rice
· Before reaching there do remember it is a village so don’t expect normal general stores there
· Its merely an advice since this is such a holy place you should definitely offer donations Any thing from 2 rs to infinity will do :D

Flower Thief’s of Garden

In the morning u can see lot many uncle and auniji’s take a stick and walk and some of them make a optimum utilization of the stick from two sides. Wondering how ?? they take the reverse side and pluck the flowers from the plants on the streets which is still acceptable against plucking the flowers and bilvpatras from some one else’s house .And to add a feather in the cap they will run away from the house when the owner will come.

There are some regular thieves for our garden too ( well they attack aur neighbours too seems for the varity of Flowers )t so we posted a small sheet with caption “yaha se phool todne wale ko shraap lagega “ which means whoever plucks flowers from here will be cursed

Now we waited for the reaction of auntiji she came rolled the paper and posted in our post box and calmly followed her routine to pluck the flowers. Some things never change ;)

I wonder why she travels in VagonR if she cant pay 50-100 bugs for monthly flowers at home .This is kleptomaniac symptom and if u tell these people I bet they will disagree because I will most probably will not lounge an FIR against her for this.

I doubt any god will be like to treated with the stolen flowers or u there is written in any custom that one should treat any god with stolen FREE stuff ;)

Hi All,

Today iam in celebration mood J U know why because just today I realized that I have covered a small journey of 5 years with Blogspot . The blog had its first post on 10 April 2006 in the crouching heat of Chennai. Then it has its own crests and troughs of posts in it.

Its not that I was not writing before this I was but I was not sharing it .the blog has taught me sharing it has taught me seeing same things from different angles .It has taught me on smiling at my own dumbness. Yes in the process I have evolved as a person .

Though my writing skills are limited unlike professional writers I kept writing like iam talking to my readers also I realized today that I have almost 1900 clicks on my blog where my clicks are excluded. (Highest are aprox 12000 on buddhu box )

I often say that writing is the easiest task but the toughest task is reading what others have to say and that too a common one like me.

I take an opportunity to thank my all those friends who found time to click on the link whenever I shared and to few some to even follow me. As during this span I also realized that most of my readers are wonderful narrators too just sometimes they are not able to steal time from the tough routine.

So o thought to greet you all with new looks of blog

Yes and this line tells that what the cities today placed far apart and treated much differently are the cities which have been treated differently now just because being in different states .. that includes the extra toll you have to pay to cross the cities which are just an hours distance like Orcha

Jhansi city of MANU aka ZHSI KI RANI

Yes this fort is also equipped by the light and sound show in the voice of Sushmita sen and Amrish puri and one thing I learnt from Orcha is that these shows are really worth watching they let the history peniterate into you and get it hard coded .

The fort is now trying to be well maintained . after being ruled by gangadhar & lakshmibai this was under the custody of the british officers who did amendments in the fort as required by them. From the top of fort you could really see the places like temple where lakshmi bai used to visit regularly from where the britishers attacked and all that sort of information .(PIC of machine gun)

Yes this fort has a TOPE which still has the BAROOD in it from the time of Queen of Zhasi and it is kept at the door.Not only that the fort still has the one among the first machine guns of the time

But at the same time I respect them to bring at least that on the upper layer of the heart of Indians.Ok Just an FYI for my readers the Serial “Jhansi ki rani” telecasted on Zee TV is shot at Chanderi fort (MP) not in Jhansi .. Jhasi being a part of the national monument and Chanderi comes in the state jurisdiction.

Though the fort is not huge but still I feel one must visit as a tribute to the courageous women who is somewhere the start of the cause .. and with her contribution we are breathing in the free air.

I welcome you to the city of RAJA RAM … well I guess some of u got it right iam talking about the lord Ram and NO this is not about the disputed Ayodhya ;)

Well now let me give you a little tour to the small city Orcha is a city having its origin during the medieval times of 16^th Centaury built by Bundela rulers and has many old timed palaces and temples reflecting grand old beauty, which existed in those times. The City was built by a Rajput leader Rudra Pratap Singh. He chose Orcha city as the capital, because it was on the Banks of Betwa river.Near the rivers are the chatris which give a super look to the city

Ram Raja Temple :This palace turned temple has a charming legend attached to it.Madhukar shah’s was Krishna bhakt and his wife was ram bhakt so once they had a difference in opinion on their visit to ayodhya or Mathura .Finally the king said if you could bring back lord ram with you then only enter back in the kingdom.The queen did months of tapasya on the bank of river near ayodhya when after months no result then she decided to commit suside then lord ram cam statchu was there in her lap .Lord posed conditions 1.I will stay where ever you keep me first 2.I will be the king of city so no one else will receive the salami till iam there. And finally since the chaturbhuj temple was in final touching not ready to shift lord so queen kept it their kitchen and that’s it no one was able 2 move it from there .also till date evenif some officer/politician takes Gun salami here then that’s their last salami on post people there shared few names too. ;)

Today, with its soaring spires and palatial architecture, the temple is surely one of the most unusual in India. It is also the only one in the country where Rama is worshipped as a king(Raja).

Chaturbhuj Temple :Built upon a massive stone platform and reached by a steep flight of steps, the temple was specially constructed to enshrine the image of Rama that remained in the Rama Raja Temple but Lord Raja ram had other plans for him self

The Rai Praveen Mahal palace built as a memorial to the singer & dancer rai parveen who had the guts and style to answer the king Akbar and come back to her land

Now this is really interesting piece of architecture as it is shaped in the form of a Vulture (garud) .. more or less like a Triangle from out while it is square from inside . Matching with the exterior craftsmanship, the interiors have exhibits of finest paintings of those times.And the amazing detailed paintings of vegetable colors telling entire Ramayan and Mahabharat and what Vishnu avtars and what not on the ceilings is just mindblowing. In some parts you can really see the darkness of the colors being painted since they are not much effected by the light or cliamate . The Laxminarayan Temple has very rich coloured paintings on the wall reflecting art depiction of themes based on the religion followed by the local people and other independent thoughts of the medieval times.

Now this was the palace where the king akbar stayed only for a day the fort was designed green in colour 90% of which is lost in time but even in the 10 % you could get mesmerizing .The carvings of the stone are so neat and clean as if it is designed out of wood and the play of shades of stone gives the effect of varnishing of different type of wood. I just wonder even if I get a person to do tis qualiy work then how much I have o pa him for just a 2 X 2 area .and the price immediately braught me back to the palace .And one thing you should never ever think to miss in ORCHA is the light & sound show.

To be honest it’s the best show I have ever seen where you could really say its light show not just voice show. The coordination of light sound and story is really mesmerizing. This makes you flow with the story. It makes you to actually imagine them and visualize them. Although none of them are very known voices in the show but still the voices make you feel and dance .This show has a nominal ticket of 70 rs .and it offers more than the worth in a moon light eveningJ.

Could there be any better way to teach history to next generation by making them sit in the open air under the clean sky just focusing on the little play.

Orcha could also be a wonderful chosen spot for the trainings / conferences as the city offers a day tour to the place and being a small city all is at 10-15 minutes walk. Ashtavinayaka or eight Ganeshas is located in Maharashtra state of India, The Ashtavinayaka yatra or pilgrimage covers the eight holy temples of Ganesha .All the Eight Temples are Swayambhu (self-originated) and Jagrut. These places are at Pune, Ahamadnagar and Raigad district. Of the 8 vinayakas, 6 are in Pune district area and 2 in Raigad district but still comparatively nearer to the Pune areas

Ok now let me start about them one by one

1.Shree Mayureshwar / Moreshwar, Morgaon Village
64 Km from Pune. It is believed that Lord Ganesha took birth here as “Mayureshwar” with a motive to kill Sindhu who was inhuman with the people of the place and was involved in various destructive activities. The name “Mayureshwar” refers to “riding peacock”. Mayureshwar then killed sindhu and legends say that his head fell here at the village of Moregaon. The Temple was build in 14th century by Morya Gosavi.

2.Shree Chintamani, Theur Village :
25 km from Pune.Morya Gosavi went under meditation and attained siddhi. Morya Gosavi’s son constructed this temple to commemorate the event.

3.Shree Mahaganpati, Ranjangaon :
54 km from Pune. The name “Mahaganpati” means “The Great Ganpati”. The idol of the temple was huge and thus got its name as mahaganpati. The original huge idol is hidden in order to prevent it from destruction and thus is replaced by a smaller one. The legend associated with the temple is that Gritsamada when sneezed gave birth to Tripurasua and he was a great worshipper of Lord Ganesha. He soon became a powerful destructor and conquered all three worlds. Ganpati then told that Tripurasur can be killed by Lord Shiva only. Lord Shiva killed him and established a Maha Ganpati at Ranjangaon

4.Shree Siddivinayak, Siddhatek:
The temple is located at a distance of 95 km from Pune in a small village named Siddhatek. The temple is situated on the banks of River Bhima near Ahmednagar. Legends say that while Lord Bramha was busy creating the world Lord Vishnu was sleeping and two demons escaped out from Vishnu’s ears to destroy the world created by Brahma. The demons were Madhu and Kaitaba. Vishnu then fought for 5000 years in order to get hold of Madhu and Kaitaba but couldn’t. Lord shiva then told Vishnu to worship Ganpati and then Vishnu invoked Ganpati on Siddhatek hill, destroyed the demons successfully and consecrated the spot.

5.Shree Vighneshwar, Ozar :
102 Kms from Pune in a small village named Ozar. The temple was built in 1833. The main attractions of the temple are Deepmalas and the golden dome. Legends say that King Abhinandana wanted to become Indra and performed many sacrifices to become one. When Indra heard this, he was furious and sent Kaal (time) in the form of Vighnasura to kill Abhinandana and obstruct every rite performed by him.Here comes the Indra lord of insecurities what ever happens his sinhasan starts moving hee hee

The common people of the village and rest of the world suffered a lot because of this act. Then all the Gods prayed Lord Ganesha to help them get rid of it. Ganpati defeated Vighnasura. Vighnasura then requested Ganpati to stay at Ozar and use his name as a prefix. Ganpati agreed to stay at Ozar and since then the temple is named as Shree Vighneshwar Ganpati.

6.Shree Girijatmaka, Lenyadri :
96 Kms from Pune in a small village named Lenyadri. The temple is located at a hilltop with a picturesque view of the nearby area. The temple is situated in caves on top of a rocky hill on the banks of Kukdi river at Lenyadri. One has to climb 283 stairs to reach up the temple premise. Legends say that Parvati, wife of Lord Shiva, wanted a son so she worshipped Lord Ganpati for 12 long years and was finally blessed with Lord Ganpati himself as her son. The temple is considered sacred as it is believed that Ganapati’s thread ceremony took place here in these caves.
All the caves of Lenyadri are being taken care of by the Archeological Department of Govt. of India. The steps are not so easy to climb and hence recommended not to go in the evening.

Though for old people there is an arragement of Kawar (only 1 is there ) so run fast to get one fr ur grand ma . Yes you have a nice clean place to have your lunch here .

7.Shree Ballashwar, Pali :
110 Kms from Pune in a small village named Pali. The temple is being named after a devotee Ballal as Baleshwar. It is said that Lord Ganesha revealed about himself to Ballal at this place and since then it has become a sacred spot and is being worshipped by thousands of people across the country. The construction of the wooden temple is such that on the two equinoxes the sun rays fall directly on the Ganpati’s idol.

8.Shree Varad Vinayak, Madh /Mahad :
The temple is located at a distance of 81 Kms from Pune and 20 kms from Khandala in a small village named Mahad. It is known as Shree Varad Vinayak, which means the bestower of blessings.

Audio and video CD/DVD/ Cassete are available on all the vinayaks but i suggest buy it at the place where u like it for the suveaniare

They all are said to be self originated and would have loved to dedicate one article for every one of them but then I didn’t wanted to lossen the bond they are tied in the “ Ashtvinayak Bond” Not James bond Grrrr ;).

well in all the 8 temples what ever donation you offer you will get a reciept of it and you will be getting a prasad delivered at home with that amount (Mishri / sugar) and yes you do its tried and tested ... which is again a commendable thing to be followed by other religious tourisms.

DB Mall a bliss for Bhopali's

I’m truly happy about the DB mall. Being opened in Bhopal indeed a most awaited development in the capital of the city. Since I can see people in Bhopal are still not used to mall culture.

It has all major stores and the mall is in stage to take shape every week after its opening. I can still see some shops empty. ON the ground of designing it is at par with the international standards though doesn’t has the help sign boards at any floor (etc to explain the store locations in the Mall) which is a kind of inconvenience and in turn results in time consumption .Thus you can rarely plan a quick shopping in the mall .. and indeed takes advantage of its posh location thus creating traffic Jam often J.

Yes for MP it is first time viewing 3-4 stories of parking and they are actually charging some good amount for this though a part of it can be refunded by shopping at the Big apparel stores .

Also I feel that this development was so strongly awaited I can still see lots of people are still uncomfortable and lost in big places like this and also in using the elevators as they have not been out of Bhopal in their entire life span.

Though you can travel the world but still there is lot to unfold in India many parts of India are still unseen let me visit there J

So was my first trip to Punjab this trip was actually marriage of 1 of my childhood friend and the place was Sirhind

Need less to say that the marriage was an enjoyable experience with the festivals having a mixed flavor of Kullu (the origin place of my friend and her relatives) and Rajasthan (she spent her entire span in rajasthan till now) and then Punjab being the place... Bari Barsi Khatan Gaya Si $$$$

So the trip was a mix of praji and bhai sa for me ..and one thing I learnt in communication “HAA JI” seems the most widely used word among common people.Infact her Mr Perfect also said Haa Ji 10-15 times in 10 min conversation ;)

fortunately as we were staying in market and shops were colorful with complete Punjabi flavor parandi,kaleere ,chudiya and all girly girly stuff .. Ki kara phir bhi shopping da time hi nai mileya J

Sirhind is the place of very high historical importance this you can assess by the no of people gathered there at any time in any day of the year or by the 24 hrs bhandara (free food /tea etc 24*7 all days)

A magnificent Gurudwara has been constructed to commemorate the martyrdom of two younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh who were bricked alive in 1704 by Wazir Khan( Fauzdar of Sirhind) This Gurudwara is known as Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib, because it marks the conquest of the Sikhs in 1710 when under the leadership of Banda Bahadur, the Sikhs ran over the area and razed the fort (built during Balban's rule) to the ground.

Gurudwara Burj Mata Gujri it was at the site of Gurudwara Burj Mata Gujri that the two younger sons, Fateh Singh and Zorawar Singh of Guru Gobind Singh and his mother were kept in confinement by Wazir Khan, the fort was known as `THANDA BURJ' which was considered a cool place during the summer. But it was a punishment for Guru's sons and his mother to keep them here in extreme winter.

when we were curious to know the story of thanda bhurj a Punjabi aunti told us in all details but in 100% Pure Punjabi and as u knw I can only understand adulterated Punjabi ;) so was almost a bouncer but then one person voluntarily told us the story that too in Pure Hindi .Earlier the Sevaiet also guided us saying its Thanda bhurj and we listend only Thanda out of it and thought its some water cooler region or amrat taal as almost all gurudwaras have.

As per the details Dewan Todar mal also resided in Sirhind and helped the people here and was a supporter of Sikhs I doubt he was the same from Akbar’s Nav ratna i.e the finance minister because in that case sirhind should have some more forts and again I feel this story is some where in 1700 while akbar was in 1500. Hmm now I can confirm they were not the same ..

Well in one line I felt the goodness of greenery and richness of hearts in Punjab so keep traveling and keep enjoying India with me \ Kriti Trivedi

Antelope canyons: Majestic colorful beauty on Earth

Colorful Shades of Mother Nature all vivaciously visible at one place on earth. Approximately 15 minutes east of Page, Arizona is the entrance to one of the most exciting slot canyons in the Southwest United States.

Antelope Canyon is a small but exquisitely beautiful geological formation in northern Arizona. It is not a national or state park and is often overlooked by many tourists visiting the area. On visiting the place I really felt that no one visiting US would ever miss this place but I realized irony when I came to know that many known people in Arizona it self don’t know about the unsurpassed beauty.

It takes only an hour or two to see it all, but it is worth the time. Photographers dream and a location where no one can have a bad pic of theirs :) Believe me you need to carry extra memory card and battery of cam to shoot this place .

Unfortunately if you are with a tour set then you will not be able to spend a lot of time in this place alone as you have to join the group too. But nevertheless the tour guide will tell you the best locations to take your pics that will be the once in a life time pics of yours.Also you can enjoy lots of photographers with their tripod just to capture scene which arrives for a fraction of second.

The entrances to upper and lower Antelope Canyon are easy to miss. Only small signs along route 98 mark these attractions. They are located about five miles east of Page just before the great Navajo power generating plant. A small admissions booth and a parking lot are the only noticeable features in the desert landscape.And you can feel the Registan out of Rajesthan.

I used to think that there are tribes in India or other under developed countries only and then I realized that this location is under the cover of Navazo tribe .How you confirm it is still a tribe in US as they don’t take the Plastic money our credit and debit cards, every where you have to pay them mainly by cash.

Though the place is open 8am to 5pm still the best time to visit this place is near noon as this is the time when the direction of sun changes smoothly and rapidly and one can see maximum changes in shades in the narrow passage. From pale yellow to bright orange /red ,from pink to purple & blue .too mesmerizing to see by the naked human eyes.

At any time of day The views in Antelope Canyon change constantly as the sun moves across the sky, filtering lights softly across the stone walls. These ever-moving sun angles bounce light back and forth across the narrow canyon's walls, creating a dazzling display of color, light, and shadow. As and when the light rays falls from the hidden slots carved from the swirling sandstones . You will be amazed to see how finely they are carved out. it is truly majestic and breath taking beauty on earth

And yes they are all natural beauty!!! how the were formed is not at all a mystery. These antelope canyons were created due to constant flow of water with the rocks . It is the water, slowly eroded Navajo sandstone grain by grain, which has in turn gifted the rock with beautiful and graceful curves. Wind has also played a role in sculpting this fantastic canyon. It is sculpted into beautiful undulating curves and hollows that vary from one to three meters wide by up to 50 meters deep. The sunlight filtering down from above produces a myriad of soft colors and shadows. The effect is exquisitely beautiful. This is a photographer's wonderland.

Honestly speaking I had so many pics of mine in this location that Iam skeptical to wear the same dress for any other location. Trust me you cant resist the attraction of the location.

So to buy bread went to Bakery Near to My house hmm more than that near to medical store. At the entrance of Bakery My mobile rang, It was my Mom’s call..I thought I will talk to her after reaching home.
After taking bread I went home and immediately searched for Phone $$$ .It was not there Rushed back to bakery!!! But till then My mobile was not even ringing and it was no where .I Lost, I Lost, I LOST MY MOBILE

I know you were expecting some heroic story in spite of this non spicy what to do I also wanted to tell you that I lost my mobile saving a poor boy’s life or my mobile was gone serving me as Billa no 786 when I was stuck in bank being robbed by robbers. Ohh I so much wished to tell you all this instead of a lame story of my sickness but that’s the fact nothing else you deserve to hear the truth interesting or not so interesting

Friends: By the way what r the conclusions you have drawn out of the case ?
Kriti: As usual at first thought to collect experiences from friends and write a book then came to Simple one liner .Always pick up the phone when your Mom Calls.

How to cover the 15 hrs journey in 32 hours

Wondering how ? So for the sake of convenience of readers I have divided the Journey into parts.
So this part of Journey is called As PLANNING THE TRIP
Well to start up with think of a suitable peak time what can be better than diwali for this I mean all over India it is celebrated and chose a perfect 2 cities which are not directly connected via flight  So I have chosen Pune and Bhopal for this case

Well if you say choose the right train then I can tell you- YOU can NEVER chose as half of seats will be booked 3 months back on the same day when the reservations get opened and in case you have chosen the last moment for reservation then you are left with the choice of Tatkal. There is no choice for people who thought for the reservation in b/w as the game for the day can be played only on 2 days First when the reservations get opened and second when the tatkal reservations are open.
Well after the huge struggle of getting the tickets in tatkal you can receive tatkal booking of Zhelau Zhelam well Zhelum is the name of train and the prefix is the lovingly accepted name of the train.
Well as a smart Software professional you should believe in managing the backups so THE BACKUP TRAIN at mid night same day sounds like a plan. And Definitely since you are now looking for backup almost few days back then you will not get things straight rather than you can only have a break to have kit Kat ie Break up journey Trip which was planned to be a break journey with a decent margin of 2.5 hrs for other train to be taken from Manmad junction.

This part of Journey is called As THE TRAIN
So finally on the D Day The waiting list 1 of tatakal will be waiting list 1 till the chart gets prepared which leaves one to chose no other way than choosing the backup. I already said S Engineers are smart in making one.

So as a intelligent traveler before leaving the train from home tried to convince that you are leaving at right time by getting confirmation on train timings that said on time 12.30 am Sharp. You suddenly have to rush to the station as you don’t want 2 miss the only train where you got the reservation.
Things become even more interesting when you have trains with similar id .Trust me how soothing it sounds to your ears when TC says that you have missed the right train when you run to the train with similar no boarding at same platform and time as your original one and you just miss it because of some where your heart says “I trust on Indian Railway Human Service” they can not be wrong at least for the news of train delay.

Then just try to read some book at Railway waiting room some Uncle curiously ask you “Are you going to give some EXAM” And you want to say Uncle no body reads a Novel for exams but You simply say NO thinking for his kids who might be fooling him at home by reading novels at Exam time. Ahh those kids will never come to know about the help you did but its OK. Looking up to the station Then Just to give some time pass a you see a man who is gadgeted like a Iron man and is pumping coffee and tea out of his jacket “A Nescafe Initiative” At least MBA teaches you to appreciate such creative business Ideas .

And Finally after series of Train Delay announcements there comes a Manual Announcement (because the train is not in the records) Till last minute you will find your self thinking that the Oh God it should not come on platform no 13.5 like the Harry Potter.
And here comes the train which was supposed to arrive at 12 .30 at 4 and when people around say they don’t know how much the train will stop so u barge in with other passengers to any dabba After all this is the fully AC Internally connected Green “GAREEB RATH”. Though 4.15 is the time to wake up for many but not for those who are awake the last night  and after reaching your seat if you think to find an attendant for Quilt and pillow to just lie down peacefully then u are wrong because you tend to listen a generous announcement from the Aunti ji of your compartment whom you have indirectly tortured . “Beta You have to buy Quilts in this Train From Attendant”
K but I traveled from G2 to G16 and No attendant or his Ghost was seen (Sweet surprise only the passengers knew they were in which Bogi No as it was not written out.
As a mouse runs for chasing the cheese you go for the hunt of Quilt and Bingo!!!! u found one …from a persons seat who got down at your own station. Now its your internal responsibility to Bless him :)

Well not very morning but you will keep up popping your head out of Quilt to find which station only to find u haven’t even crossed MP.
The Special train which stops on stations which it was not supposed to for .5 hrs and the designated stations 15 min .
Other best choice about the special trains are that they don’t have pantries and At Bhusaval you will find the entire train rushes to the Chai wala who is not able to handle the crowd of all hungry and thrusty people.
And then starts the game of Ahat si koi aye to lagta hai ki apna stop hai.
THRILL OF MISSING A TRAIN
If all goes well then the journey will be small and we will not be uptoour commitments ;) So now you are bound to miss a train to add spice in your travel So
The moment I got down the train from Manmad I realized that I have missed my connecting train long back and what’s now in hand is nothing so when nothing is there then why not go to Shirdi and have Sai Darshans

SO this part of the story is BUS HUNT
When you reach shirdi and freshen up for darshans why not book a Volvo bus (So called frequent) from there at least go ahead and book it. Nobel and well planned thought isn’t it but to your surprise you will find people looking at you in surprise and calling up others in surprise to find in some Volvo at 9 or so and you realize its MONDAY again ;) when no Volvos run the last and first have left at 12 noon.
Ok when no buses and you have already missed the office of Monday then best way is to go and have peaceful darshans which are possible if you know that they have made so many gates and restricted entries to places.
After darshans again the hunt of Bus etc starts trust me in chaos you can not pray any thing else but the BUS I just imagine if I would have prayed for a Bus and happily baba makes me owner of one ..ohho I just need the one to go back Pune .
Then a noble man comes up and suggests that why don’t you go by ST one starts at 8 and reaches Pune City at 2 and the other one at 10 and reaches by 4. well the 10 bus sounded a cool idea for safer time to reach Pune .
Just brush up your marathi skills to listen to the announcement at the bus stops and soon you found the 8pm bus leaving peace fully.
Here comes the 10 ST bus without announcement and by the time you reach there you find its filled and announcement is yet to be done .But you show all your jumping climbing and wrestling skills to get into the bus only to find all is filled and you have the whole night to pass before you think of other option (I know you don’t have ) the bus starts. And here comes the regionalism of Maharashtra ,Tamil and Andhra (Thtats BABA ki mahima around the world) that people will not let others sit and your bag (since have wheels ) will roll from one place to other just to check the turns of the road and you are standing with hands up in PT school to save thy self from falling .
Here your multilingual skills can help you out ;) don’t ask me how but you can get a seat between a Tamil and marathi women. Till some generous fellow have pity on you just before his stop comes after an hour plus of squeeze b/w the strong Indian women of North and South .and you get a seat to tie your bag and sit on.
You will certainly feel like you have won some real medal of life and rest journey will be peaceful if the person sitting next to you is not double xl

THINK GLOBAL AND TRAVEL LOCAL ;)
When you get down of bus half sleepy at 4.30am to get the direction sense of place you realize that the next local is in next 10 minutes and the railway station is 15 minutes walk away with luggage and you have to take ticket too as morning you don’t want to be victim of TT and pay fines so the best solution is to RUN ;).
Garb the ticket never mind have change in hands as they don’t have any (be it any time of day) Rush to the local and you are lucky you got the luggage compartment before train left the station .Dont worry being so tierd that you can count your bones on fingers you will be able to find no difference b/w you and luggage and the cool breeze of morning will make you feel shivering rather than morning fresh.
And then finally when you reach your station at 5.45 because train choose to stop at wrong places a long you have to climb stairs with luggage. Now you will learn what is called as baby steps and baby climbing only to find that there is no auto as no one waits for the tortoise (tell me the name who says slow and steady wins the race) so again start walking Here you owe VIP/Samsonite (whatever the brand is ) thanks for giving wheels in the bag .
Now in the sun has risen and you see the Devine light guess what !! Nopes its not that you can see God on the street at this time.(Also I haven’t done any thing gr8 to see God now) Its the Autorikshaw wala who will take half return to your house on names of late night charges when half of the distance you have covered walking .
And here you reach home to find its locked … Ok Look at watch now its exactly 7.30 am Tuesday .So as I already said you I will share you the way to cover 15 hrs journey in 32 + hours .
I guess we missed only bail gadi to travel on never mind that can be taken care of some other time. I know now you will start trusting me
BTW if the trip would have been gone as planned then I would have discovered a way to travel fast too..

Before the year 2009 moves out of your hands why not Visit the Steel factory of India
Which other Person has a privilege to have the City on their name Like TATA NAGAR – Jamshedpur. City Cradled and nursed in the vivid imagination of one towering individual: Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata, It is one of the most beautiful and India's first well-planned industrial township.

The Entire steel plant is spread into the location of acres which gives the steel plant a look of steel with more than 13-14 burners etc they have buses to travel within the steel plant .You can not take trip of all in one day .There are people who are working from generations into the same Factory .A Place where people from all religions stay and make the mini India .When we went to the heritage museum of Tata we witnessed the letters written by M.G Gandhi, Swami Vivekanand and lot many other known names of the time internationally acclaiming the Tata

You the best part was when we started from The XLRI we were in mood of a long drive to a steel plant as per my knowledge all of them are supposed to be in outskirts of the city and so on. The Driver gave a look to us and said madam ji itna door nahi hai (Its not that far ) Fir bhi kitna door hai .. we just were discussing the things and he said here is the factory nad you need to take the passes .Bingo We were there in less than 15 minutes were we travelling in a Jet …
And here we were in Tata Steel formerly known as TISCO world's sixth largest steel company, with an annual crude steel capacity of 31 million tones. I really didn’t had any Idea until I saw the steel with my naked eyes. It is the largest private sector steel company in India in terms of domestic production. Ranked 258th on Fortune Global 500

Leave the statistics You will not believe how beautiful it looks when the wire of steel falls in ring shape on one over other or the 1 m dia rod turns to 1cm dia rod in just matter of seconds .I have literally seen the proverb in meaning “Soo Sunar ki ek luhar ki”
Can you believe One employee shared “Tata Steel's furnaces have never been disrupted on account of a labour strike” this is an enviable record in itself Isn’t it.
And the view of the Asia’s largest burner mesmerized me .. Actually first time in my life I have seen the river of red molten steel Orange brightness just like Sun

The Tata nagar mention will be almost Zero if I don’t talk about the dishes Litti choka and chappan bhogs Rasgullas Yummy and Soft soft ..
And Jubilee Park will give you a laser show & musical fountain shows for a change to routine day to day movies 
Ahha how could I miss to tell you about Dimna the training center of Tata almost on an Island actually it reminded me of all beautiful Bungalows shown in Movies (never mind mostly horror) with a Ramu kaka and lalten a lovely glass house on will surely capture the trainees not running out and enjoying the scenery .

Well here are some last minute trivia which interested me as Tata Steel introduced an 8-hour work day as early as in 1912 when only a 12-hour work day was the legal requirement in Britain. Phoenix- The Desert Of US

Rajasthani’s and all those who think that cactus is your property get alert.
Those who think that for every city in US u have to buy woolens correct them selves because I’m talking abt Phoenix now it’s in west part of US and is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!
Ohho cumon!! I m talking abt climate [:)]
The first encounter in the city was with the Airport staff ,felt they were really helping a black lady just directed me to the right elevator and lift …so this means that even in US they don’t write proper instructions every where..:)
A old saying Roses always accompany thorns but then What Thorns are accompanied with … this land invites you with its variety of cactus and the colorful flowers with them.
Baratiyo ka swagat “cactus variety” se hoga . Ok this also means that the landscaping of the city is being complimented by the deserted climate.

Again this city breaks some more of your concepts like huge multistory buildings, undoubtly the buildings are huge but not multistory and the city is also not very densely populated a good reason might be it is having 10th largest in land area of US.
(At least I’m staying in a place which is in top 10)

But yes this city rather than to say the state has one very good point with it that is its climate which attracts even many of the US iedes to the place as this makes them to feel the heat Hmm which again means they can have lots of vitamin dosages here and throughout the year and they need not to scratch the Ice from their Cars. This is a gud enough reason to have one of your home here. Ok nw let me tell u some verry basic information about the Place Phoenix
Phoenix is the capital and the most populous city of the U.S. state of Arizona
largest state capital in the United States by population
Time Zone is MTZ (Mountain time Zone) i.e approximately 12 hrs behind India
(I luv to say that India is ahead of US)
So currently Im a Phoenicians being in the city So consider this article as the the basic step inside usa J.Soon we will be on the ride around the city.

I Think the demon has stolen my pencil where i used to write i havent completed lot So ..
iam not writing not reading whatever is coming iam just writing half ... I know i have to write and post but things are half done the books iam reading are half done Iam not a gr8 writer but still writing is my hobby its like talking to me so where is all that energy i have i draining ? where are the dreams moving ?

People say i must be having work in office but that i alwayse have and i never do personal work in office i leave it to back home .. yes my laptop is also feeling sick and what all i can say iam getting lazier day by day .. iam

Yes i have found an eaiser way out .. to put blame on others ... yes i will say that Demon has stolen my pencil so what if I write on laptop

A Saga from Fruits mouth from India: Fruit Mart

I mean in my language every fruit has its own story in the fruit mart :-)

If you are a regular buyer of fruits and vegetables from a super mart thenwhat u are missing in life you will get to know after reading even few linesof this :-) The interesting story behind every word of it makes you smile can even makeu cry if later on in any shop you found the same stuff at cheaper rates :-(

Ok I know till now u will be getting excited to know what is there reallygoing onWell these kind of stories are not only associated with fruits mentionedbelow(pineapple apple and banana )only u will find even more interesting onein your local fruit market .Try and listen them you will surely make your day :-)

simple becoz rani has lots of jewelry hee hee ye bhi koi baat haia silent gesture in terms of pineapple females are always expensive to haveor being a female I will say they are always in demand :-)

Something in serious mode .abb koi mughe ye bhi to samghaye ki why we run after foreign material thatmuch when we have the great deal of farmers here.

Why cant we say that sorry sir we need Indian fruits. this is not a Swadisi vigyapan(ADD) .but some where we need this theme fr us.Promote Indian products to improve status of country and Encourage thesepeople to say some other interesting story for selling fruits.

Please help them to be innovative. Use Made in India and stop the best quality of Indian material export andthen welcoming their come back as foreign return with sticker :-)

Transition of Lul from south to North

hello all
I know there was some lul in posting the articles but there is some good news for you all that now this bharat darshan will not only cover the interesting stuff from South but North also a complete Indian bhel :)
With me the blog also keeps growing and since now my work tenure is almost over with south leaving me in love with the Southern India not only locations but also people, their simplicity and hardworking attitude. Iam sure the memories i capture from this place will go long with me and will be tough for me to stop my self from admiring this part of India. This has helped me to fall in love with my country in all . I just love india
