A Small Goodbye (for Now)

Hello everyone,

I wanted to take a moment to share a small update. Over the past years, this blog has been a quiet space where I could explore creativity, share my work, and connect with others who appreciate handmade art.

Life, however, has taken me in a different direction. After moving to a new country and going through some unexpected changes in my career, I’ve had to step away from blogging and my creative practice for a while.

Because of this, I won’t be continuing this blog in the near future.

That said, this is not a final goodbye to creativity. It’s simply a pause, and a shift.

🧶 Crochet on the Go

Hello everyone, lately I’ve been travelling quite a lot by train, so I thought I might as well use that time for crocheting.

I had a few balls of wool in a natural colour and came across a free pattern for this beautiful lacy triangle shawl. It’s a variation of the popular pineapple stitch, which gives it that light, delicate look.

One thing I didn’t expect — crocheting on public transport is actually a great way to meet new people.

Pink corset

💖Hello everyone, today I want to share something a bit different — a pink crochet corset I made recently.

This project actually started with a couple of very unusual balls of yarn. I had no idea what to do with them, and I couldn’t find any information about the brand. It honestly looked like it had spent a decade or more in someone’s attic.

The yarn was 100% cotton, good quality, not very thick, but extremely stiff. It had a mix of shiny and matte sections, and working with it felt a bit like crocheting with wire.

At first, I thought it would be better suited for something like a bag or a basket. But the soft pink colour, slightly shiny, felt too delicate for that. Then I found some pearl beads in almost the exact same shade, and that’s when the idea of making a corset appeared.

Corsets need structure and stiffness, so this yarn actually made perfect sense.

I used a simple but very effective stitch pattern that creates a 3D texture, helping the segments of the corset stand out more. I added a decorative edge at the bottom with the pearl beads and finished it with a pink chiffon lace.

You can see the result in the video below. I’m honestly very proud of how this project turned out.

I also found the same yarn in a bright green colour, but I’ve already started using it for a summer bag, so no second corset for now. Still, I really enjoyed working on this piece.

More and more bracelets

Hello. It's me again. I made a few more bracelets, to have matching accessories for my favourite sets of clothes.

One more to go. I started working on purple bracelet. Maybe I will also make something indigo, dark blue too.

I know these are very simple things, but I enjoy making them and even more I enjoy wearing them, they are perfect for summer, they look good with dresses, jeans, colourful tunics and with black.

Cause everything looks good with black, right?

Malachite and metal beads bracelet

A simple bracelet, made of malachite and metal beads.

I just needed something matching my green linen summer dress.

I really like this type of bracelets, they are flexible and universal size, easy to wear and remove. I think I will make a few more in different colours and styles.

Rainy Dress, dyed at home

Hello.

I love white clothes. I love them as long as they remain clean and white.

But this state changes quickly. Usually first washing is enough to turn your snowy white dress or shirt into something that you want to throw away, especially if you are such clumsy being as myself. Accidents happen, you know.

However, this time it really wasn't my fault.

I got this pretty, delicate white summer dress some years ago.

And this year I wanted to wear it, but I noticed it slightly changed colour. It wasn't white anymore, it had some weird brownish stains, which after washing turned grey.

I didn't want to throw the whole thing out, so I decided to experiment a little with cloth dyes. Well, I had nothing to lose.

I know, the original white one was pretty, but I think the dyeing/painting effects are very interesting and I will be able to white the blue dress more often.

Virus triangle shawls

Virus Shawl Obsession (and Two Finished Pieces)

A few years ago, the crochet world went through a phase where the “Virus” shawl pattern was everywhere. I kept seeing it over and over again, and something about that bold, textured, almost 3D structure really stayed with me. I always thought, one day I’ll try it.
Well… I finally did.
I made two triangular shawls using this pattern, both with high-quality wool yarn. They turned out exactly how I hoped—thick, warm, and pleasantly heavy. The purple one was a gift for a close friend, and I wanted it to feel truly special.
At the beginning, I had to focus carefully on counting stitches and rows (and yes, I made a few mistakes along the way). But once I found the rhythm, the process became smooth and surprisingly relaxing. There’s something deeply satisfying about working on larger pieces like this—you can really feel them grow in your hands.
The two shawls ended up quite different. The purple one is larger, heavier, and has a denser structure, while the cream one feels a bit lighter and softer. I honestly enjoyed making both of them equally.
I was also incredibly lucky to get my hands on such beautiful premium wool—it made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
I’m already thinking about using this pattern again for bigger projects, maybe a bed throw or even a winter poncho with a hood.
If you’d like to try the Virus pattern yourself, it’s widely available for free online. It’s not my design, but you can easily find charts on Pinterest and plenty of step-by-step tutorials on YouTube.
Highly recommended—just be prepared to get a little obsessed.

Round yellow doily

Greetings everyone after a super long break from blogging.
Unfortunatelly, due to some serious real life problems and unexpected changes I also had to stop crocheting and creating new projects. The thing I want to show you today was made almost 2 years ago. I usually don't make doilies. This was an exception, but I completely forgot I made it.
I found it recently during packing and cleaning before moving to my new base.
So here it is, bright, spring and Easter themed round doily.

I found the pattern in old Italian magazine.

My doily is made of cotton and rather big, diameter precisely 80 cm.

Cute and fancy border, requires proper ironing.

New old sneakers

Hello.
It's me again, in the middle of hot, hot summer.
Today I want to show you something super easy and fast to make, if you want to give your old sneakers a new, summer look.
I repainted a pair of my simple black sneakers. Why? Because I needed a pair of shoes with some blue details, so I grabbed metalic acrylic paints, a couple of paintbrushes and a piece of old lace.

Of couurse I could have painted something prettier but my tendency to create chaotic abstraction won.
Maybe next time I will make something more complex.

Crochet realistic rose ( hand-painted petals)

Hello everyone.

Welcome to this first day of summer blog entry.

Today I want to share with you one of my recent experiments, large, realistic looking crochet rose.

Pictures and descriptions below.

For this project I used white cotton yarn (thread) and crochet hook, size 2,5 mm.

Each petal was crocheted and dyed (painted) separately.

On the picture below you can see all the petals I used to make one rose flwer (right after painting still wet). As you can notice they are in different shapes and sizes.

I wanted to achieve possibly natural looking rose petal effect.

It was my first attempt to dye crocheted details. It would be easier and much faster to make all the petals of originally dyed yarn, perhaps is slightly different shades of pink and purple, but I really wanted to try something new, a technique, that would allow to make each flower look different and unique.

I have to say, I am happy with the result. The flower looks simple, but it took some time to make it. Sewing petals together was the worst part. I tried several times before I got what I wanted.

So, this was my first try. There will be more. I want to make a bunch of roses in different colours and shapes, but this time I will use thinner yarn.

Crochet outfit for Monster High doll

Greetings :)

Today I'd like to show you my first crochet outfit for a doll. It contains a short dress (or tunic), white coat with flower and hair decoration with the same kind of crochet flower.

I must confess, that when it comes to crocheting clothes for dolls my experience is very poor.

I used to design and sew various outfits for my old Barbie dolls, but it's a different story,

For this project I used thin and soft acrylic yarn (Etamin) and a crochet hook size 1,5 mm. To decorate flowers I used small white fabric flowers and light blue zircon stickers.

And blue tunic solo. Info for these of you, who like to ask for patterns. Well, as you can easily guess, this whole set was created by me, which means I don't have any written scheme, but if you want to make such outfit for your dolls, please leave a coment bellow and simply let me know, if you want me to make a photo tutorial.

Hello everyone! Today I have something super fast and simple, made in bright, energising colours

This is a piece perfect for active girls who like to walk, run, dance or stay on the move.

Neon colours always remind me of the 90s, when having something in bright pink or yellow felt like a status symbol. And honestly — are we ever too old for neon? Definitely not.

🪡 Easy Beginner Project

This is one of the easiest triangle crochet shawls you can make — a basic fishnet pattern that you can learn in minutes. If you’re a complete beginner or have never held a crochet hook before, this is a great place to start.

🧶 Materials

All you need is a ball of lightweight yarn in your favourite colour and a suitable crochet hook.

For my shawls, I used Red Heart Bella acrylic yarn in neon pink and neon green, with a 3.5 mm hook. Each shawl used one 50g ball of yarn. If you want to make a larger version or add decorations like tassels, you’ll need a bit more.

I kept my shawls simple and functional, as they’re part of my “activewear”.

Spring is coming, which means more time outdoors and a bit more movement. And let’s be honest — it’s also the perfect time to get ready for all those summer crochet projects.

Small square rug

Hi everyone.
We had a couple of really cold and even snowy days here in Poland, so I decided to hide myself under blanket with a crochet hook and some thick, winter yarn that I didn't use during the winter season. I had only 2 balls of yarn, 100g each and my first though was to crochet a neat vest for myself, but red and white combined together, nah, it's not my style. I like each of them seperately, but what to do, when life gives you each ball in a different colour?
Well, I made a small square rug.

I didn't use any particular pattern for this project, just got inspired by something I saw in one magazine a long time ago, but that square had a flower or some sort of star in the middle and I didn't like it, so I made something more simple instead (please don't ask for pattern).

Btw, If you want to make a present for your cat or dog, this kind of rug will be just perfect.

The whole thing took me a couple of hours and a half of season of my fav anime watched in the background.

Hello everyone! Recently I started making simple, colourful egg holders.

I don’t celebrate Easter, but I do enjoy spring and I like spring themed table decorations, so I thought — why not make something floral and seasonal?

🪡 Simple & Creative

I didn’t use any pattern or written instructions for this project. It’s a very simple piece, and I believe anyone could make something similar or come up with their own variation. I already have a few ideas for new flower-inspired versions that I’d like to try.

🧶 Perfect for yarn scraps

These egg holders are also a great way to use up leftover yarn. Each one takes about 15 minutes to make, so they’re quick and beginner friendly projects

You can use them for real eggs, but they also work nicely with chocolate eggs or small egg-shaped candles.

A small, simple way to bring a bit of spring onto your table. 🌼🌱🌷🌹

🧶 Custom Poncho Project

Hello again, this year started quite busy with custom orders. Today I’d like to show you one of my recent projects — a large poncho.

✨ A Special Order

I think it’s one of the biggest pieces I’ve made so far. It was created for a lovely lady from the UK whom I met on DeviantArt. One day she messaged me with an interesting idea — since I like Himalaya yarns so much, we could make an exchange. She would send me yarn (covering shipping both ways), and I would create a garment for her.

She loves colourful pieces and wears size 44. My mannequin is closer to size 38, so I believe this poncho would look even better on its actual owner.

🧵 Materials & Concept

I received several balls of yarn — all the same type, but in slightly different colours. The idea was to combine them into one cohesive piece, and I had full creative freedom with the design.

For this project, I used about 400g of Himalaya acrylic yarn:
– 1 ball light blue
– 1 ball light grey
– 2 balls of grey, beige and ecru melange

The finished poncho is light and airy, perfect for spring or summer. It has a soft, slightly lacy look and a relaxed, comfortable shape.

I’d love to make another version in the future — something thicker, less open, maybe even with a hood. Ponchos are comfortable, versatile, and easy to wear with almost anything.

Crochet triangle shawl, free photo tutorial

Hello everyone.

Finally I made a short video with step by step photo tutorial for the simple crochet shawl I showed you a week ago.

However, I decided to remove old post and crochet a completely new shawl, cause I needed to correct a few mistakes I made while making the first one. Besides I don't want to make you feel confused, cause for the new shawl I used different type and colour of yarn, so it simply looks a little differnet.

Here's a photo of new shawl and a few basic tips.

To make this shawl you need about 100 grams of thin yarn and crochet hook size 2 or 2,5 mm. The result depends of the type of yarn you use. Remember that natural yarns, such as cotton, wool, bamboo will stretch after washing and blocking, so your shawl will get bigger and more lacy. Acrylic yarns, like the shiny, soft grey one I used to crochet my shawl number two, don't stretch that much.

🧶 Soft Beanie from Scrap Yarn

Hello, today I have something for those of you who have a small amount of thin, soft yarn (around 100g) and no idea what to make with it.

Since winter is here, my choice was obvious — another warm and cosy beanie.

🪡 A Different Approach

Instead of using a single thin strand of yarn, I decided to turn it into a chain first and use that as my main material. I had two balls (50g each) of very soft pink acrylic yarn, originally perfect for children’s accessories… but since I don’t have kids, I made a hat for myself instead.

To create the chain, I used a 3.5 mm crochet hook, and then switched to a 5.5 mm hook to make the beanie.

✨ Pattern & Tips

You can use almost any hat pattern for this project — the simpler, the better. I especially recommend using relief double crochet stitches for a nice texture.

A pom-pom is optional, and you can always add your own decorations to personalise the piece.

Crochet corset (first time trying filet stitch)

🎭 Crochet corset top

Hello, carnival season is here — time to party, dance, and wear something a bit more fun and unusual. In other words, lake make another crazy piece of outfit.

✨ From Plan to Reality

Today I’d like to show you a corset-style tank top that I started last summer. Originally, it was supposed to be an oversized T-shirt… but I ran out of yarn halfway through.

My plan was simple — finish the front, then buy a couple more balls of yarn. Unfortunately, that particular shade of Alize Diva Silk Effect was completely out of stock. White yarns, especially light cottons and synthetic microfibres, tend to disappear quickly during summer, so I wasn’t too surprised.

Luckily, a friend eventually sent me a ball, so I could finally finish the project — just not in the way I originally planned.

🪡 Design & Technique

The final result turned into a corset-style top, adjustable at the back with lacing. The design combines a simplified skull motif with hearts and a spiderweb-like pattern in the upper section.

This was also my first time trying filet crochet, and I found it surprisingly easy. It feels a bit like creating pixel art with yarn, very similar to cross-stitch patterns.

I played around with a few design ideas before settling on this one. I knew I wanted to include a skull motif, so I sketched a few versions — from a classic Jolly Roger to some inspiration from Día de los Muertos, which I’d love to explore more in future projects.

I really enjoyed making this piece and learned a lot along the way. That said… I still want to make that oversized top one day — and next time, I’ll definitely start by buying enough yarn.

Easy crochet cape

Hello, another year coming to an end — time really flies when your hands are busy. Today I want to show you another small project made with one of my favourite yarns.

✨ Simple & Elegant

This time it’s something quick and easy — a short cape. It’s warm, comfortable, and looks great with a dress, especially for the holiday season. Definitely a nicer option than a typical scarf.

🧵 Materials

For this project, I used one ball (100g) of Madame Tricote Tango yarn and a 5.5 mm crochet hook. Tango is a thick, very soft acrylic yarn, perfect for warm winter clothing, accessories, and blankets.

🪡 Process

I didn’t follow a specific pattern for this one. I simply experimented with relief stitches, and the whole piece took me about two hours to complete.

Hello, today’s post is a bit different — it’s about gaming. I wanted to share a game where you can be creative and build your own projects.

🎄 Holiday Season Thoughts

The holiday season is here, and to be honest, it’s always a bit of a strange time for me. I don’t really celebrate Christmas or follow the usual traditions, so I tend to spend this period in my own way — quietly, with simple food, movies, books, and of course… games.

🎮 The Game

Recently, I’ve been playing Creativerse, a cute game made by a small independent studio. I really enjoy games that combine crafting, building, exploration, and a bit of role-playing — and this one has all of that.

It’s not exactly a copy, but the similarities to Minecraft are quite obvious. The world is made of blocks that you can mine and process to gather resources, which you then use to craft new items, devices, and structures from a wide range of recipes.

✨ What to Expect

Creativerse is still in early access, so it’s not perfect. There are some bugs and the mechanics are still developing. But there’s already plenty to explore and create — and the best part is that it’s free.

The crafting, farming, and cooking systems are well done, and the game world is full of interesting (and sometimes adorable) creatures you can hunt or tame.

🧭 Gameplay Tips

There are both single-player and multiplayer modes. If you’re new, I’d recommend starting in your own world to learn the basics before joining public worlds or other players’ realms.

There’s also a holiday contest happening right now with some really nice rewards. I’ve already started working on my own project and I’m planning to submit it soon.

Crochet sleeves

Greetings everyone, today I want to show you a pair of simple crocheted sleeves that I made a couple of weeks ago.

🪡 From Tunic to Standalone Piece

They were originally meant to be part of another medieval-style tunic (you can check my earlier post about the rectangle-based sweater/tunic). But when I started fitting the pieces on the mannequin, I realised the sleeves actually looked great on their own. So I decided to keep them as separate pieces and share how they looked before being stitched into a full garment.

✨ How to Wear Them

These kinds of sleeves are perfect if you like wearing lighter clothes, like tank tops, but still want to keep your arms warm — or just add something decorative. They can work as a unique addition to an everyday outfit, or as a more dramatic detail for medieval, steampunk, or fantasy-inspired looks.

🎨 Customisation Ideas

You can easily experiment with colours and textures, and add beads, sequins, ribbons — whatever fits your style. There’s a lot of room to make them your own.

🧶 Materials & Tips

For this project, I used Red Heart Bella acrylic yarn. If you prefer a lighter, more lacy version, cotton yarn would work really well.

To create the base of the sleeve, you can use any crocheted pentagon — just make sure it’s large enough to wrap comfortably around your arm. Sew the opposite edges together using a mattress stitch, then continue working in rounds to build up the length of the sleeve.

💭 Final thoughts

This isn’t a full step-by-step tutorial, just a few tips based on my project. The stitch patterns, structure and decorations are completely up to you.

Personally, I like simple geometric motifs and strong contrast, so I went with a black, white and blue colour combination.

Crocodile Stitch Leg Warmers with mini photo tutorial

💛🩵Hello, hello! Today I’d like to show you another pair of crocheted legwarmers.

🧶 Materials

For this project, I used 2 balls (50g each) of Red Heart Lisa yarn in neon blue, and 2 balls of SMC Bravo in neon yellow — both acrylic.

🪡 About the Crocodile Stitch

A few words about the famous crocodile stitch. First of all — I love it. In my opinion, it’s one of the most impressive crochet stitches. It creates a beautiful, dragon scale-like 3D texture, perfect for leaf-inspired designs or even armour-like pieces.

That said, it took me quite a while to learn it properly. Something always felt off — the sections looked too separated or slightly deformed. After trying several patterns and making a few adjustments, I finally found a version that worked perfectly for this type of project.

The effect is amazing, and I’m honestly a bit obsessed with this stitch now. But it does use a lot of yarn, so it’s definitely something to keep in mind when planning a project.

The legwarmers I made are in a teenager/adult size, and I used about 200g of yarn for the pair. For a child’s size, you would probably need around half of that, unless you make them longer or use a more complex, textured pattern.

The crocodile stitch itself is quite simple once you get used to it, but I tested a few slightly different variations before settling on the one I liked best.

You can see the results in the photos. I also made a short step-by-step slideshow video for anyone who would like to try making a similar pair.

Crochet neon leg warmers

💛💚💗🧡Neon Legwarmers

Hello, I made another pair of legwarmers. This time I went for something a bit more bold, using crazy neon colours — pink, green, yellow and orange.

For this project, I used SMC yarn. I have to admit, I really enjoy working with this brand. They create very interesting melange yarns, and their neon colours are especially intense and almost glowing.

I’ve compared SMC neon yarns with Red Heart neons, and in my experience, SMC colours are much brighter and more vivid.

If you want to make something that really stands out, I would definitely recommend SMC yarns.

Pumpkin leg warmers :)

🎃Pumpkin Legwarmers

Hello, recently I started making these cute legwarmers. This pair is in pumpkin orange with bright green accents.

I originally wanted to use a neon orange yarn for this project, but I couldn’t find it in any stores. In the end, I chose this pumpkin shade instead, and I think it turned out really nicely.

You can see a step-by-step photo slideshow on my YouTube channel. Please forgive the lower quality of the photos and the lack of a detailed written pattern — preparing full instructions takes a lot of time, which I don’t have much of these days. The stitches are quite simple though, so it should be easy to follow from the photos.

For this project, I used 2 balls (50g each) of Red Heart Lisa yarn — two in orange and one in green. I used a 4.5 mm crochet hook, but you can also use a 3 or 3.5 mm hook if you prefer.

I chose a slightly larger hook so the legwarmers wouldn’t be too tight, especially if worn over jeans, leggings or boots. Instead of adding more stitches, using a bigger hook gives a better fit.

Freestyle fantasy hood

🧶 A tentacled hood

Hi everyone, after a bit of a longer break. Recently I’ve been focusing more on posting on DeviantArt, and since starting my YouTube channel, I also began creating simple photo tutorials — small projects with step-by-step descriptions in both English and Polish. It’s quite a lot of work, but I enjoy the process.

Lately, I’ve been really drawn to pieces that combine a hood and a scarf. They look quite striking and are also very practical.

For now, I made a simpler version — a hood with multiple long scarf strands that almost look like tentacles. I used a thick, slightly shiny yarn in different shades of purple. It’s a yarn I’ve worked with before and really like.

I have to admit, most of the wearable pieces I make aren’t exactly something you’d see every day, especially not in a small town. But that’s just how I like to create. I can admire other people’s work, but I don’t feel the need to copy patterns exactly. Even when I use someone else’s pattern, I always like to add something of my own — a small change, a personal detail, or an adjustment that makes it feel right for me.
