British illustrator Poppy Panter-Whitlock created this London poster, which depicts some of the lesser known junk and antique markets to be found in London. It also depicts lots of objects that are used as symbols for British culture, such as teapots and teacups, top hats and petticoats, and london buses and transport.

The design is also influenced by Guy Debord’s 1957 map titles ‘Naked City’ of London, who was a psychogeographer and the ‘father’ of situationist international who did alot of work based in both London and Paris.

What do you guys think about these vibrant Chinese city illustrations of Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Xi’an, and Hong Kong. I absolutely love them. The illustrations were designed by KARAS, who is a Wuxi based illustrator. I also need to shout out Eightsix.co which is a Chinese inspired art and design blog and who discovered KARAS’s illustrations.

Italian photographer Alessandro Vannucci had the chance to travel to Niger, Africa to capture the life and landscape.

“Niger is an extremely poor Country, even if compared to the African standard. 80% is covered by sand, the Sahara desert. Much of the non-desert areas are threatened by period drought and desertification. The economy is concentrated around subsistence and some export agriculture clustered in the more fertile south, and the export of raw materials, especially uranium ore.”

Whilst researching about the Kona imperial Stout packaging design, which I posted last week, I came across the Kona brewing Co. The Kona brewing Co was started by the father and son team Cameron Healy and Spoon Khalsa. The pair had a dream to create fresh, local island brews made with spirit, passion and quality in Kailua-Kona on Hawaii’s Big Island.

Each vintage style beer label is beautifully designed with a unique characteristic of Hawaii, such as the stand-up paddler on the calm waters of Maunalua bay, in the shadow of Koko Head and Koko crater.
