A pair of bullfinches rest in a bush by the river.
Head of a great spotted woodpecker hammers on wood.
The cold nibbles at my fingers
Gloves do not keep it out.
I keep coming back to the same path
through an old graveyard.
Doubting.
Then Tara’s seed syllable, tam,
Appears before me.
And the empty space reveals a ginger cat
Staring
As the sunlight picks out another ancestor.

Order It From The Library

I was on a bus and noticed an elderly lady reading a book called ‘The Quantum Mind and Healing’. For some reason this made me happy.

I ordered the book on-line from the library and collected it a couple of days ago. It cost me 35p to order it. We are lucky to have such a wonderful service for a nominal cost. If books have to be obtained out of county then the cost can go up to £2, which is still incredibly good value and means you have access to pretty much any book you want. Set a reminder for when books are due for renewal and you can’t go wrong.

I also collected a brand new hardback copy of ‘The Science Delusion’ by Rupert Sheldrake. Suggest a book for purchase and if the library approves they will buy it and reserve it for you for 35p.

Interestingly, Arnold Mindell in ‘The Quantum Mind and Healing’ refers to Sheldrake’s morphogenetic fields and also to another book I read recently, Bruce Chatwin’s ‘Songlines’.

I liked Mindell’s idea of stilling the mind and paying attention to, what he calls, ‘flirts’ or subtle, flickering experiences in order to become present and more aware.

Business Is Personal

I decided to change the way I set up my computer to manage my new business. Now I have everything on one account – business and personal.
I’m using Apple mail, integrated with my iPhone, for business mail, and Gmail for other mail. This way I can ensure all business emails are sent from my business domain and not accidentally via Gmail.
It means I have two mail accounts on my iPhone. One Gmail account and one for my business domain.

Today I’ve been getting quotes for stationery, including help with artwork, and working on my website design.
There is so much to do to get ready to trade.
Little by little I’m getting there.

A friend sent an email today saying he hopes, ‘the new business venture won’t impinge on the real work – of writing!’

An aged family dog, Bear, had to be put to sleep last night – I think this is something to do with him.

Buddha statue spotted behind a fence at the back of a unit on an industrial estate.

I went on a random walk using dice, whilst my car was getting an MOT, and this was one of the interesting things I found.
