This incredible 425-pendant chandelier by Sosolimited Partnership for the Center for Strategic and International Studies took my breath away.

Designed to look like a map of the world when viewed from below, the installation receives and displays global data like GDP growth rates, energy consumption, and renewable water resources.

Not impressed yet? What if I told you that an openFrameworks app loads specific maps and data that then triggers an animation for each segment that reflects the underlying data. For instance, water feels like rain drops, energy pulses, and GDP grows. Love.

One of my favorite installations from this year’s Amsterdam Light Festival is the We Light Amsterdam project.

Stichting Nieuwe Helden, an organization that works with a network of freelance artists to initiate and create art projects and urban movements, collected bedside lamps from Amsterdam residents and arranged them to spell out We Light Amsterdam. A message that represents collaboration and celebrates the community as opposed to the iconic and more individualistic I AMsterdam slogan.

This is by far the coolest thing I saw today. Artists Tim Noble and Sue Webster take discarded items and trash, assemble them together, and shine a light on them to create amazing shadow sculptures.

I just came across this packaging design from the Swedish designer Olle Eksell and stopped in my tracks. Olle was the man behind the classic eyes of Eye Cocoa and author of the book “Design = Economy” but personally I love his more colorful/playful prints. I can’t believe I am leaving this fair city on Saturday.

I wrote my first post to Medium yesterday, and have been overwhelmed by the reaction it received, It now has 1,100+ views and people from all over the world have been sending me tweets and messages to say how much it resonated with them.

My heart is full from this entire experience and I can’t wait to take the leap into my next chapter!

I just heard about the Savernack Street gallery in the Mission District in SF, which is right down the street from me and I can’t wait to go check it out!

Savernack Street was created and is curated by Carrie Sinclair Katz, and features exhibits that can only be viewed through a peephole in the door.

The gallery is "Open" 24 hours a day for patrons to come by and literally be on the outside looking in - go unlock your inner voyeur and have a peek!

I was a huge fan of Roald Dahl when I was a kid and this collection of re-imagined book covers by GalerieF called the ‘Fantastic Mr. Dahl’ totally makes me want to go back a reread all the stories.

My only disappointment was that there wasn’t one for my favorite book The BFG.

Tucked away in an inconspicuous alleyway in New York City, an abandoned elevator shaft has been transform into a mini-museum of everyday objects. Finding beauty in absurdity, the museum features colloquial objects, from tip jars to tubes of toothpaste to the shoe that was thrown at George W. Bush.

The museum website describes the items and “lost and found in the cracks and corners of cultures around the world.”

If you’re in the city it is definitely worth checking out!
