Hi Friends,
How have all of you been? I have missed posting but here I am now! :)
I have been busy with so many things that my days go quickly!
Does anyone have a formula to add a few more hours to a day? :)
I just visited a few of your blogs and will visit the rest after, I finish this post.
Well, I managed to make two more Valentine ornaments for my studio tree.
Both turned out very Victorian looking. One is a wrapped doll and the other one is a felt round ornament with a sweet girl image and I embellished it with some ribbon that I twisted and turned and added pearl beads to it.
I also managed to make a cute Owl picture for my studio. The background is painted fabric, the owl is made from textured paper that has dry grass in it, the wings I made using velour fabric that I stitched to resemble feathers and the eyes and nose is made from felt and stitched. I also made the owl's feet from wire and I attached it to a twig.

Hi Friends,
Hope you are all doing well and having a creative week. :)
I am doing fine . Been busy with things that weren't on my "To Do List" but I did manage to make a few ornaments for my Valentine Tree
I finally made a Icicle Doll Tree Topper, another Victorian ornament and a small wrapped Victorian doll ornament. It has been fun creating these ornaments for my little studio tree.

Sometimes we plan things and they don't go according to our plans but we must move on. :)

New Project......Valentine Tree!

Hi Friends,

Now that everything Christmas related has been put away, I am now ready to tackle Valentine's Day!
(Hey that rhyme's. lol)
So as I was putting away my Christmas things, I noticed that I forgot to put up my Christmas Desk tree last year. :(
Last night, I was thinking was not use it as a Valentine's Day Tree. So I decided to do so. I will need to make 15 Valentine ornaments and a Valentine Tree Topper before February 14th. If I make one ornament per day, I will complete it with time to spare. :)
Last night I made my first one, a beaded heart. Today I plan on making the Tree Topper. :)

In today's mail that just arrived, my dear friend and artist Wanda sent me a little surprise that is PERFECT for the tree. It is a paper ATC (artist trading card) titled "Queen of Arts". It is going to be my second ornament on the tree. Thanks dear Wanda for your lovely surprise. :)
Here is a photo of the tree that will be converted in a Valentine's Day Tree and the 2 ornaments that it has so far. I will post photos of the ornaments as I make them and then the completed tree. :)

A Few Photos of My Studio!

Hi Friends,
Last year, I had mentioned that I was going to upload some photos of my studio and never got around to it. So to start the year off right, I am now uploading some photos for all of you to see. My studio is not enormous like some others I have seen in the "Studios Magazine" but it is cozy and I think represents my personality. I try to surround myself with things I enjoy seeing on a daily basis.Lots of color, things that I have made, things good friends have sent to me and swaps items. :)
I didn't take a photo of everything but just a few to show you where I am on a daily basis. :)

Hope you are all doing well.
Happy Three Kings Day to all who celebrate it today!
I recently hosted a Mannequin Swap in the yahoo group, Fabric in Altered Art 2.
I wanted to do something different so I had all the participants make a Mannequin that represented them. ( I supplied the pattern) . They were to add embellishments that represented things they enjoy doing and maybe even put a picture of themselves onto the mannequin.
They could make their Mannequin a hanging one or put it on a base. Since I am a happy person and love bright colors, I made mine that way. I added lots of things to it.
I did add a picture of myself. I sent it to my Swap Partner today and hopefully she will love it.

As promised here are the last of the photos of my recent trip to Puerto Rico.

Pictures of My Recent Trip to Puerto Rico!

Hi Friends,
You might be wondering where did I go this time, on vacation! :)
Well, I went to the lovely Island of Puerto Rico! The Island of Enchantment or "Isla del Encanto" in Spanish. :)
The weather was perfect except for two days when it rained on and off. But still perfect to lay by the beach and take in the lovely views of the blue sea and enjoy the crashing of the waves and take in the peacefulness that one's soul needs to revitalize!
No one gets into the ocean in December because the water is cold around 60 degrees. :)
So mostly everyone just relax by the pool, lay on chaise lounges on the beach, hang out at the tiki bars etc.
The resort where I stayed at was lovely! It is called the Rio Mar Resort and Casino in Rio Grande, P.R.
The whole resort was decorated very nicely with poinsettias, several Christmas trees, wreaths, a huge Santa and a large Gingerbread House that they displayed in the Lobby!
The Resort personnel very accommodating and very polite and helpful!
I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Well, I wanted to sight see a bit more but I would have needed more days to do so. But hope you enjoy my photos and imagine you were on the trip with me! :) Tomorrow I will add more photos of a few more places I went to. :)

Hi Friends,
Just thought I would share some photos of my Christmas Decorations around my home!
I love the Jolly Old Fellow.....Santa (Papa Noel) so my home is decorated throughout with Santas! :)
Starting with my Christmas tree that is completely decorated with Santa ornaments. Even the topper is a Santa that moves and waves a lantern. I took some photos of some of the ornaments. Not all, because they would be too many to photograph! :)

Hi Friends,

Before I go into Christmas Mode (ha,ha,ha), I want to share with you the Birthday Doll, I made for my friend, Susan (Frowning Frances).
The doll is a wrapped doll and has a clay face. I decided to make her face brown because I wanted her to be different. :) She wanted a brown face too! :)
I hand beaded her headpiece with assorted beads in all colors. It took some time but I really love how it turned out. I also made Susan the fabric postcard that is pictured here.

November Birthday Gifts I have sent out!

Hi Friends,
I have been working non-stop on birthday gifts for some of my friends. My dear Friend, Helen G. recently had a birthday and I made her a gourd doll and a fabric postcard. I painted the gourd doll and then used my burning tool to burn some circles onto it. I like the effect that I got. I also added a beaded fringe all around her lower body.

I am so sorry that this photo is sideways! When I open it in my pictures it is nice and straight so don't know why it opened this way. :( This is the Gourd doll I made for Helen.

My dear friend, Wanda is having a birthday next week, but since she already received my gift, I am also adding photos of it here, I made her a "Steampunk Fish" that she has already named Prudence Pickergill! :) I really don't know how Wanda came up with that name, but I love it .:)
My Stemapunk Fish is dressed with her Royal Crown cap with a wing nut on top and some assorted gears on her fins (front and back) and tail. :)Her eyes are painted into bottle caps! On the pattern the fish would have hair on it's forehead but I omitted that step. :)
I used a pattern from my dear friend, Frowning Francis (www.frowningfrancisfolkart.com) . She has amazing patterns . If you have time, please stop by and check them out! :)

My Secret Pen Pal sent me this Belated Halloween card. My Pen Pal said" The delay allowed the cobwebs to get thicker and more scary!" LOL
My Pen Pal asked,"If I dressed up for Halloween when I was a youngster." Yes, I did. Every year I would dress up with a different costume. They were all store bought. :) So really NO favorites! I love them all. :)
I would grab my Treat or Treat bag and Off I went! LOL

In 1512 the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome, one of Italian artist Michelangelo's finest works. is exhibited to the public for the first time!

In 1755 Earthquake takes heavy toll on Lisbon. The 1755 Lisbon earthquake, also known as the Great Lisbon Earthquake, was a megathrust earthquake that took place on Saturday 1 November 1755, at around 9:40 in the morning.^[1] The earthquake was followed by fires and a tsunami, which almost totally destroyed Lisbon in the Kingdom of Portugal, and adjoining areas. Seismologists today estimate the Lisbon earthquake had a magnitude in the range 8.5–9.0 on the moment magnitude scale,^[2] with an epicenter in the Atlantic Ocean about 200 km (120 mi) west-southwest of Cape St. Vincent. Estimates place the death toll in Lisbon alone between 10,000 and 100,000 people,^[3] making it one of the deadliest earthquakes in history.

In 1765 Parliament enacts the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act of 1765 (short title Duties in American Colonies Act 1765; 5 George III, c. 12) was a direct tax imposed by the British Parliament specifically on the colonies of British America. The act required that many printed materials in the colonies be produced on stamped paper produced in London, carrying an embossed revenue stamp.^[1]^[2] These printed materials were legal documents, magazines, newspapers and many other types of paper used throughout the colonies. Like previous taxes, the stamp tax had to be paid in valid British currency, not in colonial paper money.^[3] The purpose of the tax was to help pay for troops stationed in North America after the British victory in the Seven Years' War. In 1914 The battle of Coronel.
The First World War naval Battle of Coronel took place on 1 November 1914 off the coast of central Chile near the city of Coronel. German Kaiserliche Marine forces led by Vice-Admiral Graf Maximilian von Spee met and defeated a Royal Navy squadron commanded by Rear-Admiral Sir Christopher Cradock.
The engagement probably took place as a result of a series of misunderstandings. Neither admiral expected to meet the other in full force. Once the two met, Cradock understood his orders were to fight to the end, despite the odds heavily against him. Although Spee had an easy victory, destroying two enemy armoured cruisers for just three men injured, the engagement also cost him half his supply of ammunition, which was impossible to replace. I AM BACK HOME!
Did you miss me?
I really missed ALL of you!
I had a nice trip but it is always good to be back home.
Went to Carmel, CA. for a week and met up with some friends from AZ. there. The weather was nice and cool but we did have some foggy days. I guess that comes with the territory because it is so close to the coast. But it didn't stop me from having fun! :)
We all stayed at the Horizon Inn and Ocean View Lodge in Carmel. The rooms were very nice and very clean. The staff wonderful! Every morning a breakfast basket with a continental breakfast was left at your door. What a treat!
This time didn't go out of Carmel and Monterey so my photos are only of a few places but lots of photos of lovely flowers and trees. :)
I did visit Carmel's Beach, Monterey Wharf, Pebble Beach, Rocky Point- Big Sur, took the 17th mile drive, went to the Barnyard Shopping Mall,went to several lovely art galleries and some lovely restaurants. So it was a lovely trip.
