How are you? Hope you are well and in the best of health and imaan as always.

How’s your week been then? Hope everything has been well.

First of all apologies for the lack of content here (did say i’ll post of summary of previous shows).

Right what have we covered in the past few programmes? Last week (27/03/10) we went through the major signs of the Day of Judgement as we had covered these in previous shows, but this time in greater depth and all the signs that we had mentioned, together. (Today’s show will be mentioned next week Inshaa’Allah).

Below is a summary of what was covered in last week’s show:

We went through verses 21-30 of Surah Al-Imran in the Qur’an segment with Sheikh Abdul Basfer and Ibrahim Walk doing the translation

The Islamic word was Shukran meaning “Thank you”

We also went through some Dua’s which included the Dua for one experiencing difficulty, the Mu’allim Dua, the Dua for wearing a new garment and Dua after drinking water

Surah Ibrahim, Noor and Dukhan were played

Below is some information we covered about the major signs of the Day of Judgement (please note, I didn’t go through all the major signs as we will cover that later in the future Inshaa’Allah via Anwar Al Awlaki’s speeches on the Day of Judgement)

Major signs of the Day of Judgement

The Mahdi’s arrival

His bay’ah will be known to everyone, the Muslim armies that were based in Madinah will now go to Makkah

All pious people of Syria, Iraq and Yemen will go to his services

Mansur, who will come from Khurasan (an area that covers a few countries today such as Afghanistan, Iraaq etc), will bring his large army to assist Imam Mahdi.

Imam Mahdi will leave Makkah to reach Damasuc in Syria. On his travels, the Christians confront him whom will total 960,000 people.

Imam Mahdi (as) will prepare an army to fight the Christians, which will be split into three groups; one group will flee the battlefield, one group will be martyred and the final group will be victorious.

His army will then go to conquer Istanbul via ship and upon reaching the walls of the city, will shout ‘Allahu Akbar’ and the walls will fall by the barakah (blessing) of their voices.

About 6-7 years will elapse from the time that the people had given bay’ah to till the time of this victory

Whilst administering the country, a false rumour will spread highlighting the Dajjal’s arrival. Imam Mahdi will then travel to Syria to inspect this rumour.

The Dajjal’s arrival

Within a short period, the Dajjal will make his appearance, he will be from the Jews

He will first make his appearance in Syria and then Iraq and claim prophet-hood

He will then proceed to Isfahan (a region in Iran today) where 70,000 Jews will join him and will make claim of divinity.

He will travel through many countries until he reaches Yemen, and whilst of his travels, may kuffars will join him.

He will stop at Makkah and Madinah, will try to enter but will fail due to being guarded by angels.

Madinah will experience three earthquakes, that which will make the weak and negligent in Deen leave the place

A pious person in Madinah will try and confront or reason with the Dajjal.

Due to rage the Dajjal will kill that person and then will raise him again trying the affirm the belief that he is god.

The man rejects confirming his belief that he is ad-Dajjal.

The Dajjal will try to hit the man but will be unable to do so.

The Dajjal will then head to Syria to confront Imam Mahdi.

Isa Ibn Maryam’s (as) arrival

The call for Asr salah will occur and the mu’adhin will call out the adhan and whilst people are preparing for salah, Isa (as) will descend from the heavens with both hands on the shoulders of two angels.

Imam Mahdi then inform Isa (as) of the war preparations and now that he has the authority of it but he will refuse and state that his mission is to kill ad-Dajjal.

The following morning, Imam Mahdi’s army will then head out for battle along with Isa (as).

Isa (as)’s breath will have a profound effect wherever his eyes can see, it will destroy any kafir who gets close to his breath

Isa (as) will meet the Dajjal at Bab Lud (Palestine) and will kill him by his sight.

Imam Mahdi will then pass away

Gog and Magog’s appearance

They will appear from the extreme north where there is no civilisation and where the sea is completely frozen

Isa (as) will take the Muslims to Mount Tur.

Yajuj and Majuj will cause alot of havoc and Allah will destroy them

Isa (as) will then descend from the mountain

After forty years, Isa (as) will pass away and will be buried next to RasulAllah (saw).

The Smoke, The Beast and other signs

A mist or smoke will envelop the sky and descend on the land, the Muslims will catch a cold and the kuffar will fall unconscious.

The skies will clear after forty days and Eid-ul-Adha will fall soon thereafter.

After the Tenth of Dhul Hijjah, a very long night will come; people will become restless due to too much sleep and the animals will begin clamouring to graze to the fields. Everyone will become restless.

Dawn will not break until the night equals three nights, the sun will dimly appear from the western horizon.

At this time no one’s repentance will be accepted

The sun will then go to it’s normal position in midday and then will set in the west again.

Mount Safa will be destroyed by an earthquake

The Beast will then appear, it will have the staff of Musa (as) in which it will draw an illuminated line across the foreheads of the believers, and will have the ring of Sulayman (as) for which it will stamp on the noses or necks of the disbelievers.

It will then disappear.

A breeze will come from the south for which it will cause the believers to die.

The kuffar will take over the whole world and will destroy the Ka’bah, Hajj will now be non-existent and the Qur’an will be removed from the hearts of people and from paper.

Prosperity and abundance will be plentiful.

Three to four years will pass and on the morning of Friday the 10th of Muharram, the soor (trumpet) will be blown and the Day of Judgement will commence.

(Source mainly being from the works of Maulana Ashraf Ali and do take note this is just one interpretation of the Day of Judgement. Of course Allah knows best to the correct events and the timings of them).

That was just a brief summary of what we’ve been discussing for previous show. Today’s show will be posted at a later date.

How’s your week been then? Hope everything has been well.

Wow it’s been a while since I last wrote on here. Apologies! Anyways as we are already into 1431 in the Islamic year and with 2010 looming, I’d like to take this opportunity in wishing you a prosperous year in terms of deen, health and opportunities, ameen.

I’m just going to do a simple summary this time as compared to usual due to it being a while writing on here plus the time changes which has disrupted some segments.

For the past four shows or so we have gone through some of the major signs before the Day of Judgement. These being the Mahdi, the Dajjal, Jesus, Gog and Magog and the Beast. Currently we have discussed the Mahdi and the Dajjal. Though we haven’t gone though them in great depth, this will be done in future shows Insha’Allah.

Some points on the Mahdi and the Dajjal:

The Mahdi

Hadith mentioned in Ahmad says that the world will be filled with justice once again just like it is fileld with oppression and injustices now via a man named the Mahdi.

He will resemble the behaviour of the Prophet

Mahdi will be from Quraysh according to a hadith reported by Abu Dawud

He will be among the descendants of the prophet, his name and fathers name will be the same as prophet Muhammad’s.

He will rule for seven years

The Dajjal

The Prophet (saw) is the prophet that warned us the most about the dajjal. Other prophets have gone into such depth about him.

‘The Dajjal is one-eyed but your lord is not one-eyed’ (Bukhari and Muslim)

He will have two eyes but his right will be blind

The Dajjal will not be able to enter Madinah and Makkah as two angels will be at every gate of those cities. They are the only places in earth that the Dajjal will not be able to enter.

He will emerge in a land in the east called Khurasan (a huge region situated predominantly in Afghanistan, also in Iran, Tajikstan and Uzbekistan)

He will rule for forty days; one day like a year, one like a month, one like a week and the rest being ‘normal’ days.

3 ways for protection against Dajjal: seek refuge in Allah from this tribulation, read certain ayah from Quran (Surah Kahf for example) and stay away from Dajjal at that time

(Source mainly being from the works of Ibn Kathir).

That was just a brief summary of what we’ve been discussing for the past few shows. Also the segment ‘Dealing with Worries and Stress’ will be finishing soon Insha’Allah. Hope you did gain benefit from this.

So what to look forward to in future shows? Well the return of the Al-Akhira lectures from Anwar al Awlaki, a few new segments such as ‘Don’t be sad’ and ‘purification of the heart and not to forget a Muslimness segment. A lot to look forward to in 2010/1431 on the Light Upon Light show Insha’Allah!

Just so you know the Light Upon Light show is on every Saturdays from 3-6. I also do Wednesday’s Drive from 3-6 where I have the police in the studio (drop in your questions to them!) and Friday’s Youth Show with Rahat and Nafisa with guests.

Take care

May Allah keep you on the straight path, bless you and keep you in the best of health and imaan as always .

Wa alaikum us salam.

As if reciting naats such as Faslon Ko Takuluf and Kulama Nadayt Yahu weren’t enough, the four-piece nasheed group called all the children onto the stage for a grand finale where together with the youngsters, they recited Mercy Like the Rain.

Once again, CCR would like to thank all those who made the night possible and promise you that with the help of Allah (swt) our next event will be another rip-roaring success!

See you there!

How are you? Hope you are well and in the best of health and imaan as always .

Just a quick message from myself and on behalf of the team here at Crescent Community Radio; Ramadhan Mubarak from all of us!! We wish you all a happy and fantastic Ramadhan .

Below is a dua I devised which we can all use insha’Allah in this blessed month. Excuse the english as it’s partly in slang due to it being taken from my Facebook posts .

My saviour, my best friend, why do i be ignorant? U neva left my side esp in times of need, it’s time I …remember u more than ever and make the most out of ur month and also to bless me in this time. O Lord of the worlds, help nd give me tawfeeq to continue afterwrds iA ameen!
May Allah make us take the most out of this month, to benefit, to reflect, to see why we love him and why he loves us so much. To get closer to him (swt), to praise him constantly and to recite ur ever-beautiful names.
O Allah protect us from the fire, the punishment of the grave and the hereafter. May u also O great one, make our last deeds out best and to make our best day the day that we meet u!
O Allah this is your month, the month where u released the book success for us (the Holy Qur’an). This is the month where the devils are chained and the doors of ur mercy constantly opened.
O Most Merciful, Most gracious, The King of Kings, Lord of the worlds, make every second of your month be in worship and to recite ur Qur’an in a slow and beautiful manner, pondering on the meaning of ur wrds. Insha’Allah and ameen!

Remember the team in your duas.
Take care

Allah keep you on the straight path, bless you and keep you in the best of health and imaan as always .

Wa alaikum us salam.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakhatuhu!

How are you? Hope you are well and in the best of health and imaan as always .

How’s your week been then? Hope everything has been well. Hmm just a few weeks until Ramadhan ey? What do you think? Have you got the feeling for it already just like myself? What a week we had in regards to the weather, about time!

Anyways the summary for the Light Upon Light show will be a the end of this blog just incase you missed out.

Oh also you can request your tracks though here as well and I’ll play them when i’m on air . Feedback and relevant comments are also welcomed. In regards to feedback, if you would like to comment, say salam or ask for any sources used in my show then you can email me on rehman@crescentradio.net.

Summary

Discussed briefly about paradise and read a few ahadith in regards to it. One example being: a person’s garments will never wear off nor will a person’s youth will ever face decay.

Read a story about two people who survived a shipwreck and ended up on a desert island. As they were stranded, they agreed to pray to God as they could do nothing more. However, to find out whose prayer was more powerful, they divided the territory between them on the island stayed on opposite sides of it. The first man prayed for a wife as he was feeling lonely and she came to him. He also prayed for a house, clothes and food and all came to him like magic. he then prayed for a ship so he could leave the island. Whilst he was leaving, a voice from heaven boomed asking as to why he was leaving his companion on the island. The man replied that it was his blessings alone as he had prayed for them. He then reiterated that the second man prayed for nothing thus deserving nothing. The voice replied that he was mistaken and the second man made only one prayer – ‘Pray that all his prayers (the first man) are answered’. Moral of the story: Think about others, pray for each other as blessings from Allah is for everyone. If you want to be treated with the utmost respect and be favoured by Allah, then wish well for your fellow human beings .

Islamic word for the dictionary was rahmah which is defined as mercy.

The answer to the riddle was a shadow, you’ve heard it before I assure you!

Dealing with worries and stress – Discussed on looking for the positive aspects of events in life. Things which people may only see the one that they dislike. So in other words, looking for the postives out of everything you can as something which may appear as a negative may in fact be a postive in the long run and so forth. Remeber – Allah works in mysterious ways .

Qur’an segment – Went through verses 183 – 188 of Surah al Baqarah.

That’s the summary for the show people! How is your article on how islam is the best religion with mentioning ahadith and Qur’an going? My little challenge to you. You’ve got another six weeks before I do a show on it so chop chop lol! Peace!

Take care

Allah keep you on the straight path, bless you and keep you in the best of health and imaan as always .

Wa alaikum us salam.
