Crescent proudly announces several internal promotions for well deserving employees who each demonstrated outstanding performance. Congratulations to the following employees:

Sulema Reyes, who was hired in May 2010 in Client Services, has been promoted to Activations Agent in our Sales Division.

Jennifer Rodas, who was hired in November 2011 in the Dallas Marketing Center, has been promoted to New Accounts Processing Representative in our Sales Division.

Danielle Schmulbach, who was recently hired in December 2012 in Client Services, has been promoted to New Accounts Processing Representative in our Sales Division.

At each quarterly recognition luncheon, the Marketing Centers in Sherman, Dallas and Grand Prairie select an Employee of the Quarter winner for outstanding performance, attendance, attitude and overall production. Congratulations to our 2012 Q4 winners:

Sherman location: James Emerson, who was hired in 2009, for setting 353 appointments during this quarter, and he was present every day!

Dallas location: Karray Bradshaw, who has been with CPC for over 2 years, for setting 367 appointments during the quarter, and for his work in mentoring new hires.

Grand Prairie location: Melinda Jones, who was hired in 2008, for setting 378 appointments during the quarter and having perfect attendance!

Crescent Processing Company hosted its 6^th Annual Casino Night Holiday Party on December 15, 2012 at the Westin Park Central Hotel. Crescent employees and their guests enjoyed an evening of dinner, drinks, dancing and gambling. At the end of the evening, the winning gamblers bid on auction prizes which included two flat screen televisions, a tablet, a Nordstrom’s spa day, a designer handbag, Dallas Mavericks tickets, several gift certificates, as well as other items. Everyone who attended had a great time!

Crescent Processing Announces Appointment to ETA Committee

Crescent Processing proudly announced that Richard Blake, Sr. Director of Operations, was named to the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) Committee for Risk, Fraud and Security for the calendar year of 2013. Mr. Blake also served on the ETA Committee in 2012 for Research and Communications.

The Risk, Fraud and Security Committee monitors risk, fraud, and related compliance issues in the industry and recommends related best practices and other risk mitigation strategies. This takes the form of white papers, articles, publications, educational programs and web-based resources. The committee may also be called upon to assist with ETA’s outreach efforts to other organizations involved in risk and fraud management.

Crescent Announces New Director of Sales

CPC is excited to announce the hiring of Daniel Carleton, Director of Sales, as the newest member to the executive team.

Daniel started as a Telemarketer in our industry at age 19 while in college. Twelve months later, after four promotions, Daniel became the Manager of Call Center. Not surprisingly, Daniel’s rapid rise in our industry did not end there. He went on to find his niche in sales working for an ISO, with tremendous success there, as well as with several payment processors. Daniel’s last position was Vice President of Sales for TX Direct, where he worked for almost 5 years.

Outside of the office, Daniel is happily married with 3 young children. He enjoys soccer, running, water sports and travel. He has lived in Colorado, South Dakota, Florida, Tennessee, and now Texas. Originally from Denver, CO, he also attended Denver University.

Daniel is hoping to make a rapid impact to CPC by helping to grow new divisions and leading the sales team to a growing number of new accounts every month.

Crescent Hosts Anniversary Luncheon

CPC held a quarterly luncheon at Bent Tree Country Club to celebrate recent employee milestone service anniversaries. The event, hosted by President and CEO David Kesler, honored approximately 30 employees for their loyalty, hard work and dedication to CPC. Founded in 2006, this CPC anniversary luncheon featured the first group to reach six (6) years of service! Each year, the Dallas Morning News invites the local workforce to nominate their employers who have done an outstanding job in areas such as communication, employee engagement, benefits, recognition of individual accomplishments, and the company’s ability to listen to employees and implement their suggestions. The competition is open to DFW employers with 50 or more employees, and can be either public or private companies, and nonprofit or governmental in structure.

Crescent Signs New Seven Year Lease in Sherman

Crescent Processing upgraded its office space in Sherman by entering into a new seven-year lease at a wonderful location in Sherman, TX. The new space is approximately 11,000 square feet in a professional building on Taylor Street, and it features a state-of-the-art lounge area that employees enjoy throughout the day. Among the amenities in the lounge are a Wii game center, three flat screen TVs, a pool table, air hockey, ping pong, an internet café, an outdoor break area with a covered deck, and a large indoor kitchen area. How In-Experienced Workers can Find Summer Jobs

The economy sucks right now. We all know that. But what many people haven’t anticipated is the lasting effect that the economic downturn has had on seasonal jobs and their most common employees, students and in-experienced workers.

If you want to find a summer job, it’s time to gear up for a challenging, but fulfilling job search. You aren’t too late to find one but you should expect it to be a little bit difficult if you haven’t found a position yet. You will have to be more creative when searching for a position by using a variety of job sites to search for jobs, and it may even require pounding a little pavement and carting your resume around to a few places before you find a good fit.

There is nothing wrong with working at the local ice cream parlor. In fact, having any job is better than none at all. But a summer job can be more than just something to do. It can be a good stepping stone to a career by either putting you in an industry that you may want to stay in, or by teaching you valuable life lessons that you can’t get elsewhere.

Good seasonal jobs can often be found around the community. Some examples are:

The City/State- oftentimes summer employees are needed in the parks departments and sanitation departments to balance the effects of increased tourism. Can be referred to as a character and strength builder on resumes.
Parks, Resorts, Camps and Hotels- just like with Cities and States, hotels and other tourism hotspots usually need summer employees like lifeguards, extra wait-staff in the dining facilities, and counselors/participants to help guide children through daily activities. Great for people looking for hospitality, sales, or customer service careers.
Nursing Homes/Healthcare Facilities- more often than not, these types of facilities are short on staff. This can be a good place to learn valuable people skills and can be a great job for teens or students who are looking to have a career in the medical profession

It’s certainly not impossible to make a summer job both fun and rewarding for the future. There are plenty of great ways to make summer jobs both valuable and an adventure.
