One of the greatest cricket league in the world has come to an end. Yup, the IPL 2019 (Indian Premier League) season is ended & as always what entertaining and breathtaking matches are played off in this season also. What a dramatic end to the IPL 2019 season as the finals was played between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Both teams played their butt off but at the end, Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by only 1 run and winning the IPL 2019 trophy.

Since then Virat Kohli has dominated in all ways whether its to win matches, score tons of runs, even winning most awards for his performance and well-known for breaking records. The Indian captain has come a long way in his career.

Virat Kohli has won many awards in his name and he has another honor attached in his name now. Well on Wednesday, 10th April 2019 in the 156th edition of the Wisden publication, Virat Kohli was named as the "Wisden Leading Cricketer in the world" of this year.

Including Virat Kohli, there are other 4 players who were also named as 'Wisden Leading Cricketer' Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Rory Burns, and Tammy Beaumont form England women's team.

Its quite a big news right but what if I tell its not the only time that Virat Kohli was honored by 'Wisden Leading Cricketer in the world' but instead he won this honor third time straight in a row.

6 Matches, 0 wins: What went wrong for Virat's RCB in IPL 2019?

Royal Challengers Bangalore which is one of the most popular franchise team in IPL mostly because of its players is in some poor performance in IPL 2019 season. RCB is led by one of the finest and remarkable batsmen in the world Virat Kohli (Run Machine) has failed remarkably in both the sides batting or bowling sitting them in the bottom of the table with zero points.

Virat Kohli led RCB has made a poor and low dropping start in the IPL 2019 season by far they have played 4 matches and lost all of them. RCB is struggling in both batting and bowling to dominate their opponent.

Here's a look at all the four matches:-

1. RCB vs CSK

Chennai Super Kings won by 7 wickets.

Because of losing all the four matches till now they are the only team with zero points which includes them in the bottom of the table.

What went wrong for RCB?

Poor Batting Performance

One of the major problem for RCB right now is their batting performance, the batsman is collapsing without even making a valuable score to their team. Only Parthiv Patel & AB de Villiers as for now have a batting average of over 20 not even Virat Kohli which is below 20.

RCB's disastrous batting performance can be clearly seen in the opening match of IPL 2019 season against Chennai Super Kings in which they able to score only 70 runs 17.1 overs. In that match, RCB's top-order batsman including Virat Kohli & AB de Villiers were failed to score runs for the team and Parthiv Patel was the only batsman who entered the double-digit score.

Chasing those 70 runs was a piece of cake for CSK.

Royal Challengers Bangalore is clearly struggling in their batting to chase runs and making a big scoreboard.

To Dependence on star players

We all know that Virat Kohli & AB de Villiers are the two most star players in RCB, so is that the problem that all the team members are too reliant on these players to do all the heavy stuff for their team. But what if those players fail to play for their team, then the whole pressure comes under newbies.

There is a saying in the opponent team that gets the wickets of these two-star players and there is a little chance of RCB recovering from that.

Kohli stated that,"

You have to think of the best possible combination going forward. We will definitely sit down and see what we can do to get the right balance.

In the bowling side also, only Yuzvendra Chahal is being able to maintain a lower economy rate per over. The rest of all the bowlers are having an economy rate higher than 7 per over.

In their fourth match against Rajasthan Royals, the team did pretty well by giving a decent target to RR by scoring 158/4 with major contribution coming from Parthiv Patel scoring a half-century. But still no game-changing stuff from Virat Kohli & de Villiers. In spite of that, the bowling side was also struggling to lower the runs for an opponent.

So in the scenario for Royal Challengers Bangalore it pretty went wrong in all the sides from batting to bowling and making a winning moment.

Indian team celebrated in 'URI style' after winning ODI series against New-Zealand.

Indian cricket team made a remarkable victory against New Zealand in the recent 5 match ODI series against New Zealand. India easily won the ODI series by taking a lead of 4-1 in the series. After the three consecutive victories in the first 3 ODI matches in Napier and Mount Maunganui Indian team made an impressive lead in the series which pressurized the New Zealand team. Well though India lost the 4th ODI match led by Rohit Sharma. But Rohit Sharma showed his captaincy skills again by winning the last ODI match by 35 runs leading to a series win.

Nevertheless,the last match was a nail biting match as both the teams performed well by giving a fair competition to get the better of each other. Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first, but the fortune was with the New-Zealand bowlers with India making a poor start by giving away 4 wickets for 18 in the 10th over. Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Shikhar Dhawan all of them were long gone inside 10 overs.

However, after that India was back in the game with Ambati Rayudu's & Vijay Shankar's 98-run partnership.The outstanding partnership was about to break with Vijay Shankar's run out.Then the game was with Hardik Pandya who made a blasting 45-runs from 22 balls. However, in the end India made 252 in 50 overs.While in the 1st session, for Black Cap bowler Matt Henry was most successful with four wickets.

In the 2nd session, New Zealand has to make 253 runs in order to win the match but they desperately failed in making runs as well as saving their wickets against Indian bowlers. Best black caps batsman Colin Munro,Kane Williamson, James Neesham & Mitchell Santner were out scoring 24, 39, 37 and 44 runs respectively. Indian bowlers fired their ball to New-Zealand's batsman with Mohammad Shami & Hardik Pandya both taking 2 wickets in their respective spells.

Both Indian batsman and bowlers dominated their way to the victory despite of being in pressure and winning the ODI series under Rohit Sharma's captaincy. A huge achievement for Indian team and captain. After collecting the winner's trophy, all the players were in joy mood and in the meantime Kedhar Jadhav shouted 'How's the Josh' and other cricketers replied 'High Sir'. Yes you guessed it right this is the same dialogue from the recently released movie 'Surgical Strike'.

Delhi Daredeviles Changed their name to Delhi Capitals for IPL 2019.

The well-known IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils has recently changed their franchise name to 'Delhi Capitals' for the upcoming season 12 of IPL 2019.The declaration was made at an occasion in the city on December 4th at the time of writing this article.

ECB Confirms the rule for 100-Ball Cricket Competition & to launch in 2020.

The international sport cricket is been loved by fans across the globe, its followings and fans are increasing day by day in millions as from its initial start it is gaining a huge response from its fans and has become one of the most entertaining modem for its people. The game of cricket is being evolved from Test matches to T20 leagues maximizing its popularity and income as less overs bring more boundaries and wickets making the game even more entertaining to watch & time consuming. As of late T10 was also introduced to the game of cricket world and was hugely accepted by cricket fraternity and to its fans.

Presently, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Thursday formally reported the new terms for the 100-ball cricket competition, which is reported to begin in 2020.As per the statement mentioned in the official website of ECB, the conditions for playing the 100-ball cricket competition has been updated with the three rules or points along with its title 'The Hundred'.

In the newly updated rule the bowler is only allowed to ball 5 or 10 deliveries consecutively with a maximum of 20 per game.

We all know that in current Test matches,T20,ODI & even in T10 matches the bowler is allowed to change the bowling end after the each over. While in 100-ball format, the bowler is able to change the bowling end after each 10 balls.

"The strategy we have created will give the whole game clear priorities," said by Tom Harrison, chief executive of ECB(England & Wales Cricket Board) as stated in ecb.co.uk. The game has made a huge progress this year,through collaboration, constructive debate and a volume of detailed discussion. The outcomes for all of this combined work are vital for the growth and sustainability of cricket, at all levels in England and Wales, as statement quoted in ECB website.

The three updated outcomes for 100-ball cricket competition are:

100 balls to each team or side.
Bowlers can change end after each 10 balls.
A bowler can ball 5 to 10 consecutive deliveries with a maximum of 20 per game.

The Indian cricket team recently had a major loss in their batting team as one of their recent best opening batsman Prithvi Shaw was ruled out of the Test series to be played against Australia on 6th December before the 1st Test against Australia due to an ankle injury.

Shaw injured his left ankle in the warm up match against Aussies while he was fielding in ground landing on his left ankle twisted and fell in to the ground. We enjoy watching cricket matches as it is a spiritual and a gentle-man’s game. The cricket fans from all over the globe watch the Ashes series but many wonder why it’s known as Ashes Cup or from where it all started. So here sports nerdy is presenting the answer to all your questions. There is a dramatic history behind our favourite Ashes series.

The Ashes cup is a series of test matches played between England and Australia only. Ashes series consists of 5 test matches played between England and Australia as per the regular rules and guidance of regular test cricket both for men and women’s team. If a series is drawn then the team currently holding Ashes cup will take away the cup with them. The history behind the name Ashes started earlier back in the year 1882. Back from those days till today it is the most famous cup similar to ICC world cup and is known for compassion and aggression between the playing teams.

The Ashes series or cup got his name from that one incident which took place back in year 1882.The incident was nothing but the winning moment for Australian team in test cricket played against England. Australia beated the England team in their own ground at the Oval for the first time in test cricket ever.For this the English newspaper Sporting Times quoted “English cricket had died and the body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia”. A snippet of that newspaper is given below.

Later on after that on the England’s tour to Australia in between 1882-1883 English newspaper quoted “Ashes will be regained”. This is from where it all started and it became soo famous and the name Ashes Cup was emerged meaning to regain the ashes.

During the England’s tour to Australia in which England won first two test matches a urn was given to English captain Ivo Bligh by a group of Melbourne women.The urn is assumed to be contain the contents of ashes of cricket equipment like bail,stumps or ball. From this the Ashes cup was created or came into existence and replicas of urn was given to the winning team as a symbol of their victory.

The urn is pasted with a label containing a six line verse ashes song.

Full scene behind Australia’s first ever victory in English ground

The match of 1882 mentioned above was not the first test match played between both the teams ever. The first test cricket between English team anda Australian team was played in 1877 in Melbourne, Australia. Though the the Ashes series started after the first test cricket win for Australia in England’s soil in 1882.

In the second innings of match of 1882, Australia was in mere pressure as the England needed only 85 runs to win. On the other side England was in a position to win and gaining steps towards victory. It seemed to be a one sided match for all the people watching the game.But that one man who created history for Australia, Fred Spofforth an Australian fast bowler. He said “This thing can be done” and marched towards English batsman by taking his final four wickets only for two runs leaving behind England short for only eight runs to win. At this moment fans watching match came towards field cheering for Fred Spofforth while on the other side England’s fans completely loose hope in the English team for beaten up so badly just by eight runs.

This defeat was made viral by the press and news-papers cheering Australia for their first ever victory. It was so in dramatic that many famous poem writers and writers of magazine wrote about that incident.

One such magazine editor Charles Alcock wrote ,

Well to the announcement of retire ,he is not the only Indian cricketer who announced his retirement in the month of October. There are some other legendary Indian players who announced their retirement in October. Well, it seems to be a fashion in trending in Indian dressing room to announce their retirement in October or coincidence.

Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from all forms of the cricket in October 2013 and got retired on November 2013 playing his last test match against West Indies at his home town Mumbai, Wankhede stadium.In his career he scored a massive total of 81,742 runs in all forms of cricket including Test, ODI, First class cricket (FC),List A cricket (LA).No wonder why he is God of Cricket.

Virender Sehwag

The one of his kind Sehwag who is know for his blasting, smashing opening batsman also announced his retirement on 19th October, 2015.Its only coincidence that Sehwag announced his retirement on October because on his retirement he said "I wanted to retire with all forms of cricket on my 37th birthday ".He retiring was a shock to all the fans and to himself too because he din't get a farewell game quit disappointing to such a smashing opener. Sehwag got retired with a tons of runs in his name a total of 27,551 runs in Test,ODI,T20,List A cricket (LA).

Sourav Ganguly

Ganguly declared his retirement during India-Australia series coincidentally on October 2008 from retiring in all forms of cricket.Later completing the series he peacefully got retired from the game with a nice farewell match.Sourav Ganguly in his entire career scored a total of 49,884 runs in all forms of cricket.

Anil Kumble

Anil Kumble the greatest spinner of the era that India had ever got. He got retired on 2nd November,2008 but earlier announced his retirement in October itself. Kumble announced his retirement because of his finger injury and retired himself from cricket as well as from captaincy.Later this captaincy was transferred to none other than Mahendra Singh Dhoni from where a new era was started and history was created.Being a spin bowler Anil Kumble got retired with a massive total of 2,606 wickets in his pocket , which is the most wickets taken by any other bowler in the world.

Zaheer Khan

Left-arm-fast bowler Zaheer Khan announced his retirement on October 2015 from international and first-class-cricket. He ended his international career with a total of 967 wickets. But you can still watch him play in IPL matches, playing as a captain for Delhi Daredevils.
