India fell for the second consecutive defeat at the Commonwealth Bank ODI series Down Under as Nuwan Kulasekara celebrates taking the wicket of Sachin effort Tendulkara occasionally seen losing to Sri Lanka by 51 runs in Brisbane. The result means that India must not only win both their remaining games, but will also be dependent on other results to ensure their place in the final best-of-three.

The loss seemed inevitable after India's top three batsmen were back in the hut with only 54 runs on the board while chasing a target of 290 set by Sri Lanka. Two of these wickets went to the man-of-the-match Nuwan Kulasekara who benefited from sticking to the principles of good line and length.

Captain Virender Sehwag was out for a duck to a very poor shot only the second ball of persecution. Tendulkar looked good to begin with, but only flattered to deceive when he cut the ball into his stumps when on 22. Gautam Gambhir, who despite having two scores in the 90s this series to open the batting, was dropped to number three and again looked in shape before he guided a ball Kulasekera to Thisara Perera in the gully.

Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina did stage a comeback and stitched a 92-run partnership that was helped by a recovery of surface Lanka. Raina has a lucky let off when four as Dilshan failed to hold the off chance Angelo Mathews. Virat Kohli had two escapes itself both Dinesh Chandimal complimentary deep mid-wicket. First 14 Thisara Perera off and then at 32 Lasith Malinga off.

The implementation rate was desired, however, constantly crawling toward the north. Raina departed for 32 after receiving a tip off Maharoof, Kohli and when followed by a 66 overs later, was written on the wall.

Irfan Pathan threw his bat around a Quickfire 47 in a final attempt of some heroism, but a win was not in the cards. The rest of the batting folded easily and India were bowled out for 238 with 29 balls to spare.

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat. Suspension of a match Dhoni for India's poor rate against Australia on Virender Sehwag was meant for India ahead of Parthiv and have a look at goalkeeper. Ashwin came back to the XI, while Rohit Sharma and Zaheer were 'rested'.

Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan put in a position of opening 95-run island that gave the nation a solid start and configure the rest of the innings. The pair brought the first 50 races in just 45 deliveries, but the slower rate of implementation thereafter. The Indian pace bowlers were guilty of throwing a ball too short in the early rounds, but then found a better length.

Jayawardene was the first man to go when at 45, he pulled a short ball from Irfan Pathan who was incredibly held on to Sehwag for a dip in the short mid-wicket. India followed with two quick wickets - Ashwin induce a slight advantage of a set Dilshan when he was 51.

Kumar Sangakkara was the man next to be fired as Umesh Yadav sent back to just eight. Sri Lanka however forged another partnership with Dinesh Chandimal and Lahiru Thirimanne reach the crease. His management position of a ball-71 had his side to 195 before stumps Chandimal were supplanted by Pathan.

Departure Chandimal not hurt Lanka. Angelo Mathews was quickly into action and started to violence against Indian attack. Mathews scored 49 off just 37 deliveries and co-author of an outbreak in late Thirimanne before the latter was in the penultimate over. The last 10 overs brought 91 runs Sri Lanka and gave India a target of 290 to chase.

The game did see its share of drama, when the gunner Thirimanne (who did eventurally 62) was caught backing up too far, while the non-striker's end. The player - R Ashwin saw it before your own back foot fell and cut the handles off to 'Mankad' Thirimanne. The middle order batsman was out, and technically should have been back in the pavilion, but a brief discussion between the field umpires, Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar requested a postponement.

With the victory, Sri Lanka moved into second place in the tri-series and now with 11 points, three behind Australia and ahead of India.

There's no rift in the Indian team, says BCCI

Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin understood that he was being rested for a day of duty, after a poor test series against India and selectors could have handled better their omission, according to the Players Association chief Paul Marsh.

Haddin was left out for the first three games of the triangular series against India and Sri Lanka, with chief selector John Inverarity citing the need for the player being "rested" for future international obligations.

But it was forgotten again at a 14-man squad named this week for the next two matches against Sri Lanka on Friday and India on Sunday, provoking accusations from former players and current confused messages from the jury.

His replacement Matt Wade kept his place in the squad after scoring a 16 and, following a match-winning half-century on his one day debut against India in the series debut in Melbourne.

Australian Cricketers Association chief Marsh said Haddin, at least, was aware of where he was.

"He told me he had communicated with him that I wanted to try Matthew Wade," Marsh told Reuters in a telephone interview.

"It seems a lot of talk came from the line 'at rest'.

"From the standpoint of a player, we are convinced that she was treated OK. He could have been handled better from a public perspective."

Former Australia captain Steve Waugh described "enforced rest" Haddin as confusing as the wicketkeeper's team-mate Shane Watson said he felt sorry for him being in "limbo."

Local media have lined up to criticize the newly created board, which replaced the former headed by Andrew Hilditch last year after an evaluation of team performance.

The Argus Review, launched following the humiliating defeat of Australia 3-1 in the Ashes series to England at home last year, criticized the panel prior to selection decisions and confused because he could not make the appropriate succession planning.

Haddin will play a home game Sheffield Shield for New South Wales this week, he struggles to regain his place in the team.

"He has a week that I hope he is not answering these questions over and he can get a very good Sheffield Shield game under your belt to score some runs, take some catches, and a guy comes out this week much happier he is right now, "former Test captain Ricky Ponting told reporters.
Captain Cook led the way once again with another centurya 20-run victory over Pakistan on the second day and night international on Wednesday, giving his team a 2-0 lead in the four-match series.

England put a challenge 250-4 102 powered by Cook before he rolled well to restrict Pakistan to 230 in 49 overs in Abu Dhabi Stadium.

Misbah-ul Haq could not match his counterpart during his 59-ball 47 as Pakistan lost track after being well set at 179-4, needing 72 in the last 11.1 overs.

Steven Finn, who took four wickets in the first leg, finished with identical figures of 4-34 to anchor the victory of England.

Pakistan had a good start with Mohammad Hafeez (26) and Imran Farhat (47) 61 by notching another 16 before Hafeez was caught at mid-wicket off James Anderson. Farhat, who hit five boundaries, added 31 for the second wicket with Azhar Ali (31) before Samit Patel took two wickets within 12 runs, removing and Ali Khan Younis (five).

Farhat fell to a silly run out, leaving Misbah and Umar Akmal (21) to add 37 for the fifth wicket before Patel made a diving catch at cover to send intelligent Umar back with 72 still needed off 11.1 overs.

Shahid Afridi briefly threatened England with a run-a-ball 18, but his wicket and Craig Kieswetter sky high catch to dismiss Misbah decided the question for England.

At the beginning of Cook scored his fourth hundred - the first England captain and batters of the ninth for his country to achieve back-to-back in a hundred dayers - to continue the good work after his career-best 137 in victory Monday in the series opener.

The 27-year-old lefty put 67 for the opening wicket with Kevin Pietersen (26) after England won their second successive launch and struck. He also added 49 with Jonathan Trott (23) for the second and 78 for third, with Ravi Bopara who made an attractive 58. Cook was again at his fluent best, hitting 10 boundaries off 121 balls before he gave a return catch to leg-spinner Shahid Afridi in 42 more. He hit paceman Umar Gul for two boundaries to reach 99 and then took a single Abdul Rehman to reach the milestone of three digits, as he carried the batting right from the start.

England, which has remained unchanged since the first game, also due to its evolution to a catch dropped to part-time wicket-keeper Umar Akmal to cook out on 28 off Afridi, a laspe expensive for Pakistan.

Ajmal, who finished with 1-54, once again, since the discovery when he trapped Pietersen leg before in another 16.

Paceman Cheema Trott was caught behind before Cook and Bopara followed his 131-run stand in the first game with another strong partnership.

Bopara, who hit four boundaries during his 66-ball knock, gave the finishing touch to the entries with a 56-run stand for the fourth wicket with Eoin Morgan, whose 25 was not a six.

The third and fourth games will be played in Dubai on Saturday and Tuesday.

Cal identical test series in England and Australia has exposed the limitations of India's bowling, making the Cricket Board to go on a hunt for talent in Indian cricketing backwaters.

From 18 February, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) faculty hold open trials for the pace and spin bowlers in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale said in a statement on Wednesday.

"The boys aged between 17 and 22 will be eligible to participate in the trials. They should not have played in any tournament BCCI term," said Jagdale.

The pitchers selected, then a specialized training camp followed by a three-week high altitude, in Dharamsala, BCCI joint secretary Anurag Thakur told Reuters.

"There are a number of talented players who do not get a chance to play in tournaments the BCCI. While it may not be possible for them to play for India, now, they can be kept ready when an opportunity comes," Thakur said by phone.
Zimbabwe Brendan Taylor and Elton Chigumburathe final Twenty20 international Tuesday to condemn the visitors to tour without a victory.

Kane Williamson (20) scored 14 runs in the final to seal the victory with just two balls to spare and a half centuries after the openers James Franklin (60) and Rob Nicol (56).

The result capped a dismal tour to Zimbabwe, which was competitive in both games, but were overtaken by the T20 New Zealand in a one-off Test and three one-day international.

Tourists saved his best performance for the final game, choosing to bat after winning the toss and scoring 200 for two, your best T20 score ever in Seddon Park Hamilton. Determined to finally break the shackles opener Hamilton Masakadza (62) and captain Brendan Taylor (75) anchored the innings, but fell slightly below after Williamson, in only his third international T20, Black Caps headed home.

"Obviously it is bitterly disappointing, but I think our boys can hold our heads high," said Taylor. "If we get this kind of total that will be much more competitive in the future."

Taylor said he was glad not to lose wickets as the 1st Hamilton Masakadza and Stuart Matsikenyeri partnered opening 76-run, the first tourists openers achieved an over 50 races throughout the tour.

Zimbabwe's bowlers also produced a much better performance with Kyle Jarvis taking two wickets in two balls in the penultimate and more Elton Chingumbura ending with figures of two for 23.

In contrast, Michael Bates and Ronnie Hira was the only wicket takers for New Zealand, but both proved costly, with Bates leaking 47 runs off four overs and 31 going to Hira out of three.

New Zealand's batting proved too strong as a makeshift opener Franklin, promoted in the following order form Martin Guptill was spared, produced a man-of-view game.
New Zealand run chase started tentatively, with seven overs to bring up to 50.

But the Black Caps then quickened the pace and plundered 49 runs from three overs before the next Chigumbura Nicol dismissed for 56 with his first ball to break the 103-run partnership.

Franklin was growing in confidence and looking menacing before falling to a superb run from Keegan Meth, who hit the stumps from side of the border as the striker scrambled for a second round.

Chigumbura delayed pulse of New Zealand even more when he skittled of Colin Grandhomme for eight, leaving the home team needing 41 off 20 balls.

The tourists looked set to win an upset when Jarvis dismissed New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum and his brother Nathan to bring rookie Andrew Ellis to the crease with the end of the loom.

But Williamson assured the strike and hit a four off the second ball just Shingi Masakadza, followed with a victory, then securing with six other limit.
New Zealand will face a tough challenge against the South African tour this week, with the first T20 scheduled for Wellington on Friday.

Sahara pullout may cost BCCI dear

Since taking the BCCI in 2011, he alienated senior players, lost its national broadcaster, canceled an IPL team and entered into a protracted legal battle with the other two franchises-Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals. On February 4, he was on the verge of losing most consistent sponsor cricket in India, Sahara India, which threatened to leave the IPL and a team sponsorship India about not being allowed extra money to apply for a replacement for sick captain Pune Warriors Yuvraj Singh. Sahara India spends Rs 560 crore in sponsorship of the team in India and Rs 1,720 crore in his IPL team, Pune Warriors. Their removal will punch a big hole in the BCCI's annual revenue of Rs 4,000 crore and put a question mark over the continuation of the cash cow of the Council, the Indian Premier League (IPL). Season 5 begins April 4.

Srinivasan had to call the veteran Jagmohan Dalmiya, president of Cricket Association of Bengal, to mediate between him and India chairman Subrata Roy Sahara. Dalmiya will now meet Roy on February 12 in Mumbai Sahara Star hotel, along with ipl President Rajeev Shukla. BCCI will try to convince Roy to change his mind. Roy, is reliably learned, has agreed to maintain your investment Rs 1,720 crore in the IPL team, but it is the demolition of Rs 560 crore sponsorship of Team India. "We will not let a good partner out with anger," said Shukla.

If Sahara India out of Pune Warriors, the match of the IPL matches would mean less new deals and lower prices to issuing Set Max (currently paying Rs 820 crore per annum for a 10-year agreement signed in 2007), title sponsor DLF and other advertisers. "The celebrated brand is now facing some tough questions from advertisers who want to know what is in store," says the analyst and Future Brands MD and CEO Santosh Desai.

The current season is crucial for the IPL and T20 leagues do not do well financially, is in trouble. "Once the stock was sold five months in advance. Now the interest is very low," says managing partner of Navin Khemka of Zenith Optimedia, a media buying company. Ratings ipl4 decreased to 3.94 from a peak of 5.29 in IPL3 in 2010, according to press reports of TAM.

Former cricketers claim must be something very wrong with the way the board has allowed its ties with various stakeholders to deteriorate. "BCCI needs a drastic overhaul," says former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi.

Senior officials of the BCCI have approached the Bharti Airtel, India's telecommunications company than for a quick deal for 18 months contract left over from Sahara India for three-and-a-half-year. In May 2010, Sahara India, the sponsor of the team over the past four and a half years, had bid Rs 3.34 crore for each test, a day and a Twenty20 match against Rs 2.89 crore Bharti. What sparked the latest controversy? Grouse Sahara India was that the BCCI ignored some of their genuine concerns regarding the warriors Pune. BCCI refused to add Yuvraj Singh price Rs 8 crore to Pune Warrior scholarship auction. The addition would have allowed the team to compete for a top player. Sahara India also paid more for the team that most participants Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers. However, they played only 74 matches instead of the stipulated 94 promised by the BCCI during the auction.

Head of Corporate Affairs Sahara India Abhijit Sarkar said that the group is studying conciliatory tone of the Board and weighing your options before February 12 meeting. Even if the two sides mend, a reunion seems difficult. "Unfortunately, I never found the BCCI believe in genuine give and take," said a statement released by the group. "Any relationship does not fall on one issue," said an irate Roy said. In London, the worst critic Srinivasan, former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi is enjoying his defeat. He wrote on his website: "A building is being done carefully shaken by a man-Narayanaswami Srinivasan, who is unaware of the consequences of their actions."

t is a good place to be in terms of cricket, very difficult, "said Sports24 Nannes, as saying.

He will play alongside Pakistan Sohail Tanvir as two of the professionals in the country at the Lions' squad for T20 domestic competition this season, which begins on Wednesday.

"I like a challenge and play in a tournament of good internal quality is sometimes more difficult than international cricket, so I expect nothing less than good hard cricket," he said.

Nannes was impressed with the big name international players.

The Indian team's think-tank has taken a leaf out of the book in the course of Australia Commonwealth Bank tri-series, when deciding to adopt a rotation policy for their three senior batsmen - Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir.

Sehwag and Gambhir were not part of India's matches against Australia in Melbourne and against Sri Lanka in Perth, respectively, and Tendulkar was the time to sit third game of the tournament team at the Adelaide Oval today. As expected, the news of the failure Tendulkar was not taken too kindly by former India captain Ravi Shastri, who was visibly upset with the decision of the management team to rest the scout master and told him he should play every game for CB Series trying to score his 100th century in international cricket elusive. But why Tendulkar given special treatment and be kept away from the rotation policy? Tendulkar is undoubtedly the greatest batsman of India, but even he can not be greater than the team.

I thought cricket was a team game where personal milestones take a back seat and the decisions must be made in the best interests of the team! This is something that I had mentioned this story last month saying Tendulkar Selection Series for the CB and indeed the team one day is a step backwards for Indian cricket.

Returning to the rotation policy used to be Down Under, Sehwag justified last week, he said the management team or youth team to play in all matches in the tournament and get used to the conditions as the World Cup 2015 is being organized by Australia and New Zealand. . "We have good young people (it is) is important, they have to play more one-dayers so they have experience when the World Cup comes That's our aim When the World Cup is there, they must have played at least 75 .. - 100 ODIs, so they are ready for the World Cup, "he said.

India captain MS Dhoni said the policy was put in place to ensure Rohit Sharma gets enough games to become a permanent member of the team one day. There is something fundamentally wrong with this logic, because Rohit would have thought he had established himself in Team thanks for your man back-to-back series of awards in the last two India one-day series against West Indies, home and away . Furthermore, by highlighting Rohit, the message is that he has not done enough to be part of the playing XI and he is now being given enough chances to make a case for himself. This certainly is unfair to Rohit when there are other players who need this "security" more than he does at the moment.

Australia first used the rotation policy in early 2000, when they were a force conquers all, and was more of a need to infuse a sense of competition for places on the team to ensure that players are not satisfied and stop challenging to improve. And players who were rotated were and still are being shaped, an example that was resting Michael Hussey for the game today and Peter Forrest delivering his maiden international cap.

The heart of the Indian team management seems to be in the right place, but they are going wrong in implementing the policy by turning only the top three batters and did not adopt the same attitude toward someone like Suresh Raina, who continues to be discovered and again in Inflatable fields away from the sub-continent. Raina had sufficient opportunity and time to work on his technique against short deliveries, but despite its flaws in the middle-order continuous, it is being given a long rope.

And that is when someone like Manoj Tiwary is part of the Indian squad for the CB Series. Tiwary not only score his maiden international century in his last ODI appearance for India, it is also useful with the ball and is brilliant in the field, and can easily insert a point of Raina. Raina needs to be sent a message that he can not take your place in the team for granted, especially when there is a worthy competitor around.

India should ideally have first used the policy of rotation in the test series against West Indies at home, the former opening batsman Aakash Chopra writes this column. Chopra adds that it makes little sense to rotate players, after only one or two walks and there should be a method to the madness.

It is time also that Dhoni and team management to think seriously about including Irfan Pathan India XI to play sooner or later in the tournament, to the detriment of any Ravindra Jadeja and Vinay Kumar.

t is a good place to be in terms of cricket, very difficult, "said Sports24 Nannes, as saying.

South African one-day cricket captain AB de Villiers said the loss of his team to New Zealand in last year's World Cup quarter-final is history, and added that visitors are here to set the record straight about which side is the best one.

De Villiers said his Proteas need little motivation to take a "smart" Black Caps team after their last meeting at the World Cup.

South Africa arrived in New Zealand for a full tour that has T20S and three ODIs and tests with the first international match on Friday night in Wellington with a T20.

New Zealand beat the Proteas in a highly fanciful year of the 4th World Cup bitter past. The Black Caps defended a total of 221 vulnerable, taking the last five South African wickets for 25 runs to dismiss the Proteas to 172.

The Proteas had been severely beaten and suffered verbal Kiwi "choker" tag international media as its series of failures of the World Cup continued.

"We do not need much motivation when we are a young team with much to prove and our past experience against New Zealand was very sad for us -. But they played the best cricket in the day and that's history now and we have to move on forward, "de Villiers stuff.co.nz quoted as saying.

But he also described the Kiwis as a smart team.

"They are very smart and they think on their feet, but hopefully we'll be the smartest team in the next round," he said.

Coach Gary Kirsten said the challenge for his team would suit New Zealand conditions that are very different for hard and fast wickets and outfields back in South Africa

"Our focus of attention is how well we can play in all conditions that we are facing," said Kirsten, who is in his first overseas tour as coach of the Proteas.

Break sought by Tendulkar: Team management

(AFP / Getty Images)

That remained the talking point, even after the victory of India four wickets on the hosts, a rare event this summer Down Under. However, according to a member of the management team, Sachin if he wanted a break.

Could not get a confirmation of the Master.

"Sachin has been playing almost nonstop since the Boxing Day Test and chose to rest ... It was after Sachin networks reported on Saturday that the coach (Duncan Fletcher), he would like to take a break ... There is nothing more for him, "the gentleman told The Telegraph.

He added: "As Sachin just wanted to rest for a game, he'll definitely be back in the XI on Tuesday, against Sri Lanka."

This game is also in Adelaide.

Interestingly, at the press conference, Gautam Gambhir MoM took the following line: "It is important to rotate, given the amount of cricket we play ... When we do not, everybody has a problem. When we started to run, then it is also a problem ... To be honest, this was the best XI. "

The last sentence clearly is a large comment and is unlikely to be welcomed in many quarters.

To Sachin, the most prolific run-getter and the 1st century-maker in both tests and ODIs, the ongoing tri-series marks its return in version 50-over cricket.

Sachin, of course, though short of 100 international hundreds - his last three innings figure was 11 months ago at the World Cup 2011.

The selectors will name the Australian team for the next group of games in the series on Tuesday, where we also have to choose a replacement for the captain to fix Friday.

"Michael Clarke suffered a low degree of tension in the right thigh ODI against India in Adelaide on Sunday," Australian team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said in a statement.

"He did tests today (Monday) that confirms the nature of low-grade lesion.

"He will not recover in time to play the game in Australia ... next Friday against Sri Lanka in Sydney, but I will evaluate it and decide later this week about his availability for the match in Brisbane on Sunday, February 19 against India. "

Clarke gave the first news of his injury on Twitter.

"It's good to be back in Sydney ... have an exam this afternoon, will keep you all informed ... Thanks Feeling very positive. For concern," Clarke tweeted earlier on Monday.

After getting their verification reports, Clarke was happy that the injury was a little bit and said he hoped to be back for the game in Australia against India.

"I have a thigh strain level is a way out of the game Friday vs. SL, but I hope to be back on Sunday against India in Brisbane. Good news," he said.

India play Sri Lanka in Adelaide on Tuesday in the fifth game of the triangular series.

Air India will probably be playing their last home game of the season at Balewadi Sports Complex when they take on Chirag United Kerala in I-League on Sunday.

This comparison provides round 20 Santosh Kashyap side of yet another chance to prove they have the desire to be among the best teams like Mumbai outfit was breaking the mark of 30 points if they beat Kerala.

In his last game against Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bangalore, Air India played excellent, fast paced game full of something for 90 minutes that is rarely seen in domestic matches.

Now that Air India is totally safe, there is no reason why the Mumbai team does not go all out and win all the points of the match against Chirag.

Takayuki Omi and Sandeep Sangha were at their brilliant best, creating several chances for the front Manandeep Singh, Allan Dias and Henry Ezeh. Kashyap was happy with benching Sandesh Gadkari striker for most of the game before you send it as a substitute late in the second half.

On defense, Lamine Tamba was the most active. Abranches Tamba and Collin were key supporters of those who have Air India Pawan Kumar depends. The keeper himself was very active in the bar and saved several shots on goal.

When I came here last Chirag, Mumbai beat a result of shock, and Air India would be wary of that.

Chirag in a sense is a balanced team, but luck was not with them most of the time, so when they take the field Sunday afternoon, hand Packeer Mohammed Nizam Ali, at least, I would put a good show and see if they performance can be repeated once more in Balewadi.

Australia rest Hussey, India to play Rohit
The Sydney Morning Herald article written by Andrew Wu said Cricket Australia (CA) said that the format remains "incredibly popular", but if crowds and ratings are an indication fans prefer to watch television rather than in the stadium.

The first ODI of the summer was watched by 1.3 million people across the country, but only 30,000 showed up at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Cricket New South Wales are also finding weak sales for the next game in Sydney between Australia and Sri Lanka at Sydney Cricket Ground for which about 7,300 of the 28,000 public tickets were sold, the article says.

CA, which is co-host the World Cup in 2015, expressed confidence in the attractiveness of the game 50-in.

"I always worked on the premise that when you are making decisions about things, you rely on facts and the facts are that in Australia, is a very, very popular game, and the world is still the most popular format of the game, and was for 20 years. format is seen more and more closely to support the game globally, "CA chief James Sutherland said.

Sutherland, however, suggested that matches rejected ODI is mainly a product made in Australia TV.
But whether they win or lose, their mere presence in the sport's short-format showpiece has a significance far beyond the boundaries of St Lucia's Beaysejour Stadium, where they faced former champions India on May 1.

Don't rest Tendulkar, says Gavaskar
Visitors rested Virender Sehwag in the opening game against Australia and Gautam Gambhir for the next match against Sri Lanka, but Gavaskar said India needed to field a balanced hand.

The former opener Tendulkar said, looking a century unprecedented 100 international, should not lose any game amid speculation that he may be rested against Australia in Adelaide on Sunday. "I think Sachin should play in every game," Gavaskar told the NDTV news channel. "If you want to use a rotation policy, then it should be used for all players. I think Tendulkar, Gambhir and Sehwag should play and perhaps one of Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina have to stay out."

Tendulkar, who hit 51 Test and 48 one-day hundreds, looked impressive in making 48 against Sri Lanka on Wednesday before being thrown by seamer Angelo Mathews.

Millions of fans were waiting deep in March from the whisk Master Tendulkar hammered his 99th international century in a World Cup match against South Africa in Nagpur in March 2011. He has now gone without a hundred in 21 test innings and six one-dayers.

Pakistan fast bowling great Wasim Akram said that India is fielding its best side in the tri-series. "I do not think this is a good idea for teams like India or Pakistan to rotate players in a series as big as this. We do not have such a culture," Akram wrote in The Times of India. Especially when the team is not going well, the focus has to be in the best XI to play at all times to restore confidence. In a series like this, the hosts can afford to experiment, but a side trip. "

Tendulkar is the world's top scorer in both Tests (15,470 plays) and one day international (18,161).

Pakistan, Afghanistan set for historic one-dayer
Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza said he was approached by an unnamed player in relation to the potential binding site, when he ends up as captain of the Gladiators in Dhaka Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

"I told my management team on the approach and I'm sure they will do the right thing," Mortaza told the Cricinfo website. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (Central Bank) confirmed the report.

Dhaka newspapers reported that Mortaza said he would come down from the captaincy team if he suspected any irregularities that tournament - designed along the lines of the successful Indian Premier League (IPL) - was going.

Mortaza was asked to provide information about whether he would play some games and even if he was wearing sunglasses or a hat when he takes the field. In return, he was told he would be paid 15-20 percent of the gains in terms of betting.

Central Bank officials said Mortaza was asked to reveal the name of the player who made the approach. "This is a very serious crime," BCB spokesman Jalal Yunus told AFP. "We have zero tolerance for these things, and will do whatever it takes to nail it quickly.

"Mortaza has to disclose the name of the player. She needs to be treated very seriously."

Mortaza will be talking to the staff of the Office of the International Cricket Council Anti-Corruption Security, before starting the matches in progress on Friday, Yunus said.

Thursday is the opening ceremony for an event where the Caribbean Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard are the main players. The league team of six is to be played in Dhaka and Chittagong, with the final on February 29.

Shahid Afridi Pakistan, the most expensive foreign player in the auction last month after being sold to Dhaka Gladiators franchise for $ 700,000, not taking part because of international obligations. Pakistan start a one-day series against England in Dubai this week.

Gavaskar is an initial squad of 55 at the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame, launched in January 2009 in association with the Federation of International Cricketers Associations (FICA), as part of the Centennial Year of the ICC. He now joins a club that includes 72 cricketers male and female.

In the presence of the chief executive Haroon Lorgat and ICC Pakistan captain Aamir Sohail former, Ramiz Raja and Waqar Younis, Gavaskar took the lid of Dev in front of a select gathering Wednesday.

One of the scouts of the greatest opening match, Gavaskar represented India in 125 test matches, captain in 47 of those games, and also played in 108 ODIs. During an illustrious career spanning 16 years from 1971 to 1987, the 62-year-old scored 10,122 Test runs at an average of 51.12. He also scored 3,092 ODI runs with his century coming only in the 1987 World Cup against New Zealand at Nagpur.

He was also a member of India's squad that won the World Cup in England in 1983, defeating West Indies by 43 runs.

Gavaskar is the first batsman to complete 10,000 Test runs and also the first to score 30 Test centuries, achieving the feat against Pakistan during the 1986-87 Test series against West Indies and in Chennai, during the test series 1983-84, respectively.

Gavaskar was delighted to receive the cap.

"It's a great honor because it's peers in the game that decides who will be introduced in the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. It took some time to coordinate the presentation, but finally it's there and I'm glad that I have been sworn in," he said a statement by the ICC.

Gavaskar was thrilled to receive the cover Dev who was their captain in the triumph of 1983.

"Kapil is someone who I regard as the greatest Indian cricketer to receive this cover and it is a very big advantage, a very great honor.

"Kapil and I had some wonderful times playing in the Indian team. Being part of the World Cup winner is a memory that will always stay with me. Kapil lift the cup in the Lord is something I'll always treasure and, therefore, to receive Cover it makes this occasion even more special. "
